The dark haired boy watches Sokka as he talks, tilting his head and scratching through his sharp pointed hair. With Sokka's command, his legs snap together and he salutes with an expression that he probably meant to be serious, but mostly just looks kind of silly. "Sora, sir!" He says, voice cheerful. "My business is...uh...mostly being lost...to be honest.." He trails off, rubbing his cheek as he falls out of the salute.
"Oh!" He gestures at the small brown fox that walks back from drinking at the water and takes a neat seat at his feet. "And this is Eevee--Or Eve, for short!"
He grins. "So where am I, anyway?"

The question caught Sokka off guard, but he did his best not to let that show, crossing his arms and looking around. "In the wilds of the vast Earth Kingdom, no doubt. My fellow, er, warriors left me here as a prank, and now it seems that they, too... are lost. They forgot where they left me..."
Then he raises his chin again. "But Sokka the Fierce could never be lost! Howl and I were looking for a good place to set up camp near a water source, but the ground here is too damp for a fire. Do you wish to join us in finding a more suitable location? More hands make less work." He remembered that saying from his father, and felt a rush of pride, mixed with a bit of longing.

The other boy can't hold back a small snicker. "I'm looking for my friends, too!" He said cheerfully. "I'd appreciate the company. Er...alliance!" He said, arms swinging as he starts to walk to Sokka. He pauses after a moment, and goes back to pick up the large strange shaped piece of metal.
"Gotta remember this thing doesn't come with anymore," He shakes his head. "I need a shealth. Or a belt.." He mutters to himself, walking back over with Eve following primly at his feet.
"I've been hanging out mostly around here," Sora says, yawning. "Near the water. Haven't found much in the surrounding areas--besides the little flower sprites, anyway, and some weird animals."

"A sheathe?" Sokka frowned. That thing was big. Surely it wasn't a sword? It looked far too... key-like. "We'll... work on that. We should keep travelling, find a better place to set up a camp. I'm not too much a fan of these... 'flower sprites', you said? Hmm."[/color] Then, when he took another look at the massive sheathe-needing object Sora was carrying, his curiosity broke. "What is it, anyways?"If he can get Sora to follow him, he'll continue heading in the direction he already was... looking for a place to start a campfire.
But if he sees any pokemon along the way that are equal in size to or bigger than Howl (or otherwise look like food) he'll try to fight.

Sora nods. "Yeah! I don't know what else to call them, honestly. They're small and cute, though, like Tinker Bell!" He grins. "But I don't think they're actually fairies..." He trails off, shrugging. "They're kind of cute, though. One of them gave me a berry last night...It's why I ended up staying! It was a bit awkward this morning washing up in front of them..." He blushes slightly. He follows after Sokka with a cheerful, swaggering gait. God, those shoes are so /big/.
"Oh, this?" He says, raising the...weapon? "This is a keyblade! It's kind of like a sword, I guess? Your world seems to react poorly with it, though. It usually vanishes when I don't need it, but here it's so..." He shrugs, not sure how to really phrase it.
He glances up at the sky, though, squinting up at the sun as it dips towards the horizon. "I didn't mean to nap so late..." He says, following. He's mostly quiet for a while as they walk more, and the sky goes dark above them as they walk. At one point, something flies above their head, a shadow breaking the light coming in from the trees--but they can't get clear enough to find what it was before it vanishes from sight.
As they travel further into the trees, Sora grumbles about how /large/ this world is, and how many /trees/ there are. The sky goes dark, colorful to the west, and in the breaks in the trees, they can see cliffs that rise far above them in the distance. They pass along the edges of a clearing, one that seems dry, firm, and large enough that they might be able to settle for the night! Still, there's something...something /off/, something that sets both Sokka and Howl on edge, though they can't see anything...it seems like a perfectly normal, empty clearing...
Sora walks up behind them. "You guys okay?" He says looking past them. "Hey, neat! Shelter there?"
He starts towards the clearing through the trees.

"Sora-- wait." Howl's hackles raise and he begins to growl. "Doesn't something feel... wrong to you?" To Howl, he adds, "...sniff around. Any scents from people or uhh, pokemon, that are fresh?"
He takes out his boomerang and creeps forward a bit more carefully, searching the trees and for any movement in the bushes.

Sora pauses where he was about to wander in, squinting into the clearing. He holds his hand over his eyes, peering around in an exadurated motion....before he finally shrugs. "Nope!" He turns back to Sokka. "Does it feel weird to you?"
Howl backs away from the edges of the clearing, nervous, but doesn't seem to have any reason why. Sokka feels a chill trickle down his neck and back, but...he can't /see/ anything...
The trees rustle with the breeze. Sora frowns, giving Sokka a weird glance.

"Ugh! This place gives me the creeps..." he whispers, mostly to himself. But as Sora doesn't seem to troubled one way or another, he sneaks closer to the other boy. "C'mon Howl. If there really is anything here, we'll no doubt see it soon enough." If there was no sign of the presence by dusk... well, they'd deal with that then.
"So, kid, you any good at making shelter? Or anything, really? What have you got in the way of skills?" He almost dreaded knowing the answer. Sora didn't look like the kind of guy who knew his way around a normal forest, much less one filled with creatures that could do all sorts of unruly things. "Got any supplies to build a shelter? If not, might wanna go use that big metal weapon of yours and get some branches."

Sora rubs the back of his head, expression thoughtful. "I, uh...well, funny thing about my skills.." He mutters, flushing. "A friend of mine has been teaching me his magic but...I haven't been able to get it to work right lately. Or, at least, not all of it?" He grins suddenly. "I'm good at locking and unlocking stuff! And hitting stuff. Ohh, and skateboarding!"
He mutters something that might be 'and flying', rubbing his cheek. "...I'd say I'm also good a piloting a gummy ship, but given that I think I crashed here to begin with..." He coughs. "Not good at building or making stuff besides the gummy ships, I guess, and even those are with help...if I had a Moogle to help me..."
His expression brightens at the last question. "I can do that! I'm usually pretty good at finding stuff!" He says, turning away and almost tripping on his huge shoes. "Eve and I will go collect stuff if you want to start, uh...doing whatever?"

Someone was teaching him magic. Sokka felt his interest in the kid deflate faster than a balloon being sat on by Appa. Another bender of sorts, then. He turned away and rolled his eyes, trying to keep the disappointment from his voice. At least 'hitting things' seemed more up his alley. "I don't know much about 'skate-boarding' or 'Moogles' or 'gummi ships', but I guess if you can hold your own in a fight we'll get along okay. I'll handle the building best I can. Go grab as much as you can before sundown! Building in the dark won't be much good for either of us."
He didn't want to be alone-- not in this place at least, and not so shortly after finally being able to talk to someone who could talk back. The thought of three more days with nothing but a ball of flubb and a scrawny pup to talk to grated on his nerves.
"Let me know if you see anything sneaking up on us," he muttered to Howl, and tried once again to build a campfire. How they'd light it would be another problem entirely...

Sora nods, saluting. "Will do!" He says, lugging the great key over his shoulder and walking back out into the woods. Eve darts at his feet, picking up a branch in her mouth and starting her own pile to help. Nothing happens as Sokka approaches the clearing, but he can feel the hair on the back of his neck stick up, goosebumps forming on his flesh. He swears he sees things out of the corner of his eye but nothing is there when he turns to look. He makes good progress on the campfire, though, and nothing actually happens, at least... Thirty minutes later, Sora will return with a bundle of sticks, branches, and some larger rocks. Eve seems particularly proud, though, prancing in with her head high and a huge branch in her mouth that drags in the dirt. The end gleams with lush red fruit. "Sokka!" Sora calls out cheerfully. "We found snacks!" Roll for campfire to find out how long it takes you. 10 minutes per roll, until you hit the dc in the mechanics thread. Sora returns with 900 build scrap to share! He's also found a rare item! Eve has 3 Blooberries!
Blooberries - A type of berry that has the unique effect of turning pokemon who consume it blue! The effect lasts for 2 days for each one consumed, and affects each pokemon in different, unique ways. When consumed, each berry counts as 200 food scrap.

Sora watches Sokka build, head tilted as he tries to figure out what the other boy is trying to build. He lets Sokka do the campfire by himself, and volunteers to work on lighting it while Sokka starts on the next thing--but pauses when he figures out what Sokka is trying to do. "I can start the fire after," He shrugs, getting up to help build. "That way we don't burn anything that might be useful for building!"
And he is a bit helpful, at least for holding things in place--and he's stronger than he looks, even if he seems a bit confused at how Sokka is actually putting things together. With his help and contribution, a shaky looking shelter is put together in the clearing. It probably won't last forever, and looks like it might collapse if it were to be hit or anything, but it's...manageable. Looks like it'll block the worst of the wind, and keep the rain at least a little off them, if the worst happens.
Sora is sweaty and grinning as he turns back to the neat little pit Sokka had built, well designed to keep the fire from spreading. He tosses the leftover branches in the pit, as well as some of the debris from building. "Stand back, okay? I've been having problems using most of my magic, but I think I've figured out this part..." He closes one eye, sticks out his tongue, and raises a hand towards the pit--and from the center of the pit, a great whooomp is heard as a flame bursts into being so explosively that it flares beyond the confines of the pit itself for a split second, like a great cross, before settling into a merrily crackling fire.

At first Sokka makes a casual noise of acknowledgement when Sora says he'll handle starting the fire. It's not like he had any matches with him anyways, and last he checked Chilly only blew snowflakes at his enemies, not flames. When told to stand back, he does so--albeit with a confused furrow to his eyebrows--but when the pit suddenly bursts into a blaze--
"Firebender!" Sokka says, pulling out his trusty boomerang. "I-- I trusted you! You said you weren't from here!" And if there was a firebender so near to where he was left, that might mean... "Wh-what did you do with Katara and Aang?!"
He advances on Sora, heart pounding. Of course the boy was too good to be true. His breath catches in his throat as he recalls the siege on the north, and her eyes... no, this wasn't the time for that! He swallows hard, hand shaking around the grip of his boomerang.
"If you've got other firebenders hiding here," he snarled, "Y-you might as well call them out, because I'll never forgive you for what you did to Yue. I'll fight to my last breath and curse you from my grave."

Sora's wide grin of accomplishment as he turns to face Sokka is wiped away almost instantly by Sokka's sudden hostility. He gapes at the dark skinned boy as the weapon is pulled. He starts to raise his hands in a peaceful gesture, but the keyblade in his right hand that doesn't vanish the way he expects it to throws him off balance--flying out of his grip and smacking his head as he moves. It falls to the ground with a metallic clatter against a few rocks in the grass.
"W-wait!" Sora finally says loudly, simultaneously cringing back, trying to rub his head, and trying to diffuse the situation. "I'm not! I don't know what I did wrong!"
He hesitates. "Or...who Katara and Aang are? Um. I don't have anyone else here. And...I don't know what you think I did to...to myself?" His expression is puzzled despite the tension.

He slows to a halt, but doesn't lower the boomerang. "What? No-- Yue. The princess of the Northern Water Tribe!" Former princess, part of him admits quietly. "Oh, don't act so naive! I bet you firebenders had a grand old time up until Aang sunk your ships!"
But the look on Sora's face plagues him. Was he being played? Sokka swallows, some of his fury dying down. "Really? You bend fire like it's no big deal but haven't even heard of the attack on the north? What kind of firebender are you?..."

"Someone named their kid You?" Sora seems hung up on this fact. He shakes his head, as if bringing himself back to the situation at hand. "I haven't heard of any attack here. I've never been to this world before, sorry. And...I don't think I bent the fira. It sort of just went in a straight line. I think I've seen Donald make it go in circles before, but I haven't been able to get the hang of it. I could only ever bend, uh...I guess air? It made for a good shield."
Sora pauses, as if realizing he's gone on a bit of a tangent. He smiles sheepishly, hesitantly, and continues in an earnest voice, "Did I make the fire curve when it flew? I can try to aim better. Is..that a cultural thing here? Are there any other things like that I should know, do you think? I can't seem to get blizzard or any of the other spells working, but if I do, are there any things I shouldn't do with them?"

And then there's me not even having noticed this was updated. DERP! Sokka squinted at the boy in frustration. Okay, okay, maybe the kid had hid under a rock for the better part of the last century-- not that it was impossible to be out of the loop that long, he'd come to realize. He lowered his weapon but still stood warily. "Firebending," he said slowly. "You can control fire. But your technique isn't something I've even seen before so-- what's a 'spell'?" Then he paled. "You mean to tell me you can c-control blizzards, too? But that's impossible, there can be only one Avatar, un... unless--"No, no, it couldn't be true. He took a few deep breaths to settle his panic. Aang was okay, and Katara was okay, and this kid had hit his head a bit too hard when his 'ship' came ashore, clearly. "Y'know what--? Alright, I don't want to even try to understand this right now. I am going to get some much-needed meat cooked. If you're going to start firebending again, at least keep it away from me. I've had fire cause enough problems for three lifetimes."
