Jamie hands the man his money and thanks him upon receiving his items. He quickly puts his new Basic Balls in his backpack. With that done, Jamie looks at Shako. "I'm going to wait outside for Helen," he told his companion and walked out of the shop to stand outside.

Jamie Outside, there is no trace of Helen.

Helen briefly considers the contents of the office, but decides that she has not imeadiate need for anything that is on sale. This would surely be her first stop to get anything she might find in the ruins checked out however.
Heading outside, Helen quickly tracks down the boys. "Have fun shopping? That occult shop is full of crap, but the assayer has some good stuff. I think I'll check that back out once we are done with the ruins." She asks as she sends out her Pokemon for a pre-adventure grooming session.
Helen grooms Aku, Thumper, and Swablu, applying Agility, Skill, and EXP training to each. Thumper gets skill training in Perception, Swablu in Stealth, and Aku in Athletics.

"Ah, there you are Helen," Jamie says as Helen arrives. "The assayer huh? I'll keep that in mind," he then says in reply. While Helen is grooming her team, Jamie makes sure that his own team is all ready to go. He gives them a quick training session, choosing Cascade, Chroma and Paradiso to train as he simply can't split his attention more ways than that for now. Jamie applies Focused and EXP Training to Cascade, Chroma and Paradiso.

As you finish, Rufus lumbers up, followed closely by his Vespiquen. "Oh, so this is where all y'all ran off too," he drawls. "Didn't know y'all had mornin' rituals an' all."

"Hey Rufus," Jamie greets their newest friend. "Yeah, we do some training, or grooming in Helen's case, in the morning so our Pokemon stay in top form." He looks at his friends and then back at Rufus. "I think we might be about ready to head into the ruins. We got a care package from Professor Laurel yesterday that we still need to split, but other than that we're good to go."
Speaking of the care package, "Helen, did you leave the supplies in the Pokemon Center?"

Helen pulls out the package and grins, "I got it right here. How do you all think we should split it?"
She pauses for a second as she goes over inventory, before attempting to answer her own question. "I think I'd like two Pokeballs, a potion, a revive, three bandages, and three waters, if that is okay with you two..."

"That's fine, by me," Jamie says smiling. "In that case, I'll take one Pokeball, two Potions, two Revives, three Bandages, three bottles of water and one length of rope."

As Shako finishes up his training with his pokemon, he walks up as the others are splitting the contents of the package. I guess I'll take whats left, He says, as he looks into the bag. Looks like 2 pokeballs, 2 potions, 2 revives and 4 bottles of water, and 4 bandages. Well this doesn't seem fair, I get way too much. He pulls out 1 bandage and 1 bottle of water, Here you 2 take each of these, it would make me feel better about the split. He hands them out to Helen and Jamie. Also I'm ready to go as well, when you want to.
Shako applies inspired training to all his pokemon, and XP training to howler, clubba and shelldon.
Inspired training: +1 evasion,+4 to save checks.

"Well, if y'all are ready, follow me." Rufus leads you through the outpost up to the ruins. The marble edifice looms large before you. The entrance is open wide, and within you can see a large room; not many details are visible within, but it looks like a fierce battle took place within. Rufus turns back to you with a bashful grin, saying "If y'all wanna back out, I'll understand. Kinda nervous, myself, actually." His Vespiquen rubs her hands together, though out of nervousness or anticipation you can't tell.

You cross the ruins' threshold and now stand in the doorway of the first room. The room is irregularly shaped, with ten-foot tall statues lining the walls depicting people garbed head to toe in long robes (think the classic ghost costume), all holding tablets; their posture suggests that they are presenting the tablets. Two doors stand at the far end, hanging crazily upon their hinges where Team Tempest blasted their way through. The room is heavy with the smell of wax, and it's not hard to see why- numerous candles, with great stalactites of wax testifying to their age. The statues and the candles seem to have been damaged recently, likely due to Team Tempest and their recent incursion. What catches your eye is the way the candles move, almost like they're Pokemon.... Wait. They are Pokemon! About a dozen one-foot-tall candlelike Pokemon trundle about, tidying up the mess, freshening candles, and the like. They have yellow eyes and stubby little arms, and blue flames burn atop their heads. One of them sees you and smiles, giving you a wave with its stubby hand. Dungeon map! As you explore further, you'll reveal more of the dungeon. This image is a bit of a placeholder, so sorry for its crudeness.

Jamie raises a hand in greeting to the candle Pokemon. He is a little wary because he knows that the Pokemon in the ruins are meant to be strong, strong enough to give a whole expedition problems, but he figures that the Pokemon might get more aggressive as the group goes deeper into the ruins. And if they don't, well that's even better. Still despite his wariness, a smile begins to grow on Jamie's face. He's a huge fan of these Pokemon, Litwick, and their ability to weaken their foes with debilitating Burns. I wonder if one of them would like to accompany me on my journey, Jamie thinks. Well, there's no harm in trying. With that thought in mind, Jamie slowly approaches the Litwick that waved at the group. When he reaches it, he kneels down so as to not look to imposing. "Hi, my name is Jamie. My group is exploring the ruins at the moment, but once we're done, we're going to continue exploring the rest of the region. If you'd like to see what the world outside looks like, maybe you'd like to join me? I'll treat you well, I promise."Charm: jSRVkywS3d6

When Jamie makes his proposal, the Litwick fly- yes, fly like a Pidgey- down to him, making excited little squeaking noises. They all land on the ground before him, some waving their stubbly little arms like they want Jamie to pick them up, while some hug his legs happily, though their flames do not harm him or set his clothes ablaze. One grabs a thin, unlit candle before landing atop Jamie's head like a hat, pointing the candle deeper into the ruin, making a squeaking noise that sounds oddly like a trumpet sounding a charge. Rufus shakes his head at the sight. "Well, Ah'll be darned," he says. "Yew sure got a way with them there Litwick, Jamie!" Jamie You have not convinced them to go with you, but they do seem eager to lead you deeper in, and also don't seem to have a problem hanging around humans like you. There's also something slightly sinister about them, though you can't quite put your finger on it.

The Pokedex beeps as it scans the candle Pokemon, then Laurel's voice begins to recite the pertinent information: "Litwick, the Candle Pokemon. The only sightings of Litwick in Holon are in Nuyan ruins, or in the upper portions of Peak City. In either location, they tend to serve as caretakers of their habitats, industriously cleaning and repairing anything that falls into disrepair. Apparently, they like the ancient ruins of Nuya, and the Gothic style of Peak City. "Whatever the case may be with regards to their caretaker OCD, there are numerous legends surrounding Litwick and their evolutionary line-" The Pokedex suddenly cuts out. Odd. Perhaps it just needs a new battery. As Shako examines his now deactivated Pokedex, a Litwick flits over onto his shoulder and gives him a big, friendly hug. The Litwick feels warm and squishy, and judging by its little chitter-chitter noises, it seems to like Shako.

Jamie is feeling a little overwhelmed by the sudden surge of Litwick towards him. He can't help but laugh a little. "Guys, calm down," he says smiling. "So you want us to go deeper into the ruins? Well, that is the plan, don't worry about that." Even as Jamie says not to worry, a flash of worry hits him. He can't help but feel that there's some sinister business going on with the Litwick. Jamie tries to kick his mind into working. What do I know about Litwick? Pokemon Ed on Litwick: OzwNyR054d6 Well anyway, they might not be convinced to join me just yet, but I will get one of them! Jamie thinks resolutely. He just can't pass up the opportunity to gain such a useful team member. "Are you sure one of you doesn't want to become part of my team?" His words reflect his thoughts even as he starts slowly walking in the direction that the Litwick are pointing him at. "Let's keep moving guys," Jamie says to the rest of the group.
