The creature laughs at her question and helps her build her pad, muttering something about being easier to show than to tell. When she's done, it pulls its cloak off and uses it as a pillow of its own--it's large, bipedal, and yellow under the cloak, with a huge tail tipped in a sort of orb that occasionally seems to glow slightly. "Tomorrow, I will take you to see it, and you'll understand." It mutters softly, watching the fire. "But for now, you seem very tired. Rest. You'll be safe here." And however Terra chooses to finally fall asleep that night, she wakes in the morning to the early dawn light that falls over her face. It's a bit chilly in the morning air, and the fire has left little more than slightly smoking ash. There's a slick layer of dew on her skin and clinging to her hair, and the large creature she's gone to bed with seems to be slumbering still, its tail occasionally twitching. There are track marks in the dirt that show where the tail must have swept in the night. It wakes not long after Terra, and spends the first few moments pulling its cloak over to the bags it fell asleep by, and walking into the water nearby to rinse off. It's silent, and likely ignores questions at first, possibly peering over at Terra with narrowed, sleepy eyes. Only after, as it emerges streaming the chilly water, does it seem awake enough that it nods at her and goes to start rummaging in its bags. You've finished your first day! Rollover! Please update your status chart for the current day, including hunger status, etc.
Achievement! You've survived your first day exploring in this strange place! +1 Milestone +50 PXP to split as desired.

Terra woke feeling more at ease with this forest than she had the last while. She has an idea and while she waits for Ampharos to get up she gathers some branches from around and makes a pair of tangle traps. Once that is done and Ampharos is up she gets out her food and starts to make a large meal for herself, feeling like finally she will be able to worry a little less. Once Ampharos is awake enough to join in conversation she asks "So what is the plan for today?"9 Exp to Chip and 41 to Autumn bringing them both to 99 exp at level 10. Terra gained the Trapper feature and with two survivalist features has gained Forestwalk after her time in this forest

The Ampharos mutters to itself as it rummages, before finally straightening up with a small sheet of what looks like tan cloth. There are some sort of colorful scribbles on the side she looks at, yawning widely, before she tucks it back in the bag. She slings her cloak over her shoulders, and pulls out a small pack that seems to be full of some sort of white loaf. Nibbling on it, she considers Terra's question.
"There's an access point nearby, around a two hour walk. I'll be setting off after breakfast to reach it, with you if you'd like." She mumbles around a bite. "After that, I'll be settling there--I'm supposed to be its guardian. Should have been there earlier, but I'm not the best with directions."
The Ampharos sighs and shakes its head.

Terra stares at the ground for a moment. "Thre's a lot I want to know, and it sounds like that's where I need to be to find out." She smiles at the Ampharos "I'll be happy to accompany you" Between the fun she'd had with Autumn and meeting this creature it seemed like finally things might be looking back up. Still lost god-knows-where, but things were improving at least.

The Ampharos nods. "I'm sure it is. Even if I can't help you, and the access point can't help you...I'm sure there will be others attracted to it, and they may hold answers for you." She smiles warmly at Terra--or at least, that's what Terra thinks that expression is, but it's not a human face, so it's all a bit strange and hard to tell. There are a few more minutes of their cold breakfast, before the Ampharos cleans her hands in the water and repacks her bags, kicking some dirt over the fire. "Shall we?" She asks cheerfully, pulling her bags on under her cloak. If you chose to venture out with the Ampharos, throw me a perception and an athletics check.

As Ampharos gathers her pack together and tries to get something useful out of the sleeping pad. Be a waste to make this and just leave it behind... Once everything is gathered she responds to Ampharos. "Sure, lets go!"Perception Roll MFiefyjg1d6 Athletics Roll 3d6 1d6·3d6

The trip is a long one--the tall other-creature Terra is travelling with seems a bit surprised at how slowly Terra moves, but adjusts her pace accordingly. It's length and the bore of the trip is compounded by the general lack of...much of anything, really, outside of thick trees that get thicker as they go, and shadows that grow darker as more leaves block out the sun. Terra finds herself getting distracted more by the things in her head than paying attention to their trip, though she vaguely notices a few scattered fuzzy animals that skitter out of view as they approach--if she'd been paying attention, she likely would have compared them to squirrels from back home, just a bit off colored.
It's around three hours later that the Ampharos pauses in the center of a slight opening in the trees--and this brings Terra's attention back to their travels. There is a leaf, hanging just above the Ampharos' head, which gleams--and on further inspection, despite it's shape, doesn't appear to be a leaf at all. Rather, it's a crystal in a leaf's shape, shining green from the reflected colors around it. The Ampharos raises its tail, bringing the bulb forward. It begins to glow, and other small crystal shapes are visible, increasing in number in the direction they were walking.
"We're here," It says, somewhat smugly. And moving forward slowly, it stops where the crystals cluster the hardest, between two entirely crystaline trees. Their branches weave together in such a way that nary a living creature could fit between them, with a large opening between them to walk through. Just pass them, Terra makes out a brightly glowing clearing that is surrounded entirely by those interwoven trees and branches, forming an enclosure through which bright sunlight passes, casting rainbow light through the crystals. The floor is still a rich, soft, earthy layer of earth, and the entire enclosure is about the size of the clearing she'd stayed in--nearly fifteen people could probably fit in it standing up without being cramped, and the 'roof' of the enclosure is high enough that Terra can't touch it even if she jumps.
The whole place is quiet, and Terra feels a vague energy that drifts against her skin--not unpleasant, but just enough that she notices it. It's somewhat...rejuvenating, really. Already she feels a bit like she's been drinking coffee, and minor aches and pains that she'd barely noticed building begin to fade.
The Ampharos settles down just inside the place, letting out a peaceful sigh and setting its bags to the side.

Terra walks in after the Ampharos, staring at the crystals in wonder . "What is this place?" She asks, not even thinking to put her own items down. With the calming, rejuvenating feeling all around her she finds herself touching the tattoo on her side, and Autumn reappears beside her, already looking for what fun she can create.

The Ampharos starts settling in, looking around with a peaceful expression. "It's an access point." It says, then continues after a moment of realizing Terra wouldn't really know what that means. "They're...places where you can get close to the...the lifeforce of this world, I suppose, might be the easiest way to put it. Being inside them is magical--you heal faster, to a point, and so does anyone with you. You can also meditate here to trade your soul marks. You should have a book you can use to help you with that. And...well, it's not something /I/ can do, but I happen to know that if you meditate here, you sometimes even get visions." There are a few minutes more spent chatting as the self-proclaimed guardian explains. You've reached an access point! Access points are the equivalent of pokemon centers in this world! By staying inside the enclosed access point, you heal as if you were in a center and can meditate for ten minutes to move your soul markings around, switch them after you've reached your limit of six with pokemon whose marks are stored in the book, or destroy the marks to release them into the wild. In addition, if you chose to meditate for a full 30 minutes, your character channels the power of the access point and can receive one vision of their choice, once per day.
If you concentrate on a specific person, and this person exists in this world, you'll get a quick vision of where they are in that moment. If you concentrate on life force in general, you'll get a quick vision of the nearest person to you who is not also in the access point. If you concentrate on a specific location, and it exists in this world, you'll get a vision of that location. If you concentrate on nothing at all, you'll receive a random vision of something nearby. If you concentrate on something else...well, sometimes the powers that be are kind and you might receive good information. Sometimes they're not, and you might waste your vision!

After everything is explained, Terra tells the Ampharos that she needs to try this vision thing, and moves to the wall opposite it, sits down and tries to meditate. Her first thought is to try and think of the Titans but she still doesn't want to have to deal with them, even if she was in a strange place. Besides, she didn't actually appear to be in danger now that she thought about it so now might be a good break from the mess that was Jump City. It would be good to meet some other person though. Not a person like Ampharos though. Terra tries to relax, and focuses on thinking about humans.

Terra finds that it takes a few long minutes before the strangeness of this whole situation drifts from her mind and she can focus on blanking her mind. For a while, she stares at the back of her eyelids, feeling relaxed and comfortable but not much else. Then, suddenly, there's a flash across her vision and--
There's a man of average height in a purple jacket and top hat--The image shatters. There's a young girl in a soiled once elegant gown, scowling at the filth--The image shatters. There's a figure in purple with a hat that covers his face--are those bunny ears? This image is clearer and a fraction longer and she sees a shack and the sun rising against the trees to the east and a young girl at his feet--The image shatters.

Terra gasps and opens her eyes as the last image shatters. Ok, there are other people here, good start. Looking to Ampharos, she gets up again and asks "So you mentioned last night that I was one of many you were meant to teach. What did you mean by that?"

While Terra meditated, the other figure seemed to have taken the time to start working on...was that a tent? It seemed like a tent. It was just outside the clearing, and there was an awful lot coming out of those bags to join it--including what seemed to be the start of a fire pit with a small metal rack over top. The ampharos was humming as it set up, and she turned to look at Terra only after carefully hanging a large cloth sack of some kind over the still cold fire pit.
"My purpose is to teach and protect." She finally says, shrugging. "There are so very many of you--you are only the first I've found."
She hesitates. "The first I've found who didn't flee, anyway."

Terra nods solumnly. "Yeah. I know what it can be like when people flee at the sight of you." There had been times when using her powers had scared off those around her after all... She tries to put o a more cheerful face. "Ok then! What are you going to teach me?" She sits down closer to what Ampharos was setting up, crosslegged and ready to learn.

The Ampharos blinds at Terra in surprise. After a moment her expression clears and she laughs. "Oh, I think you misunderstand. This /is/ what I was meant to teach." She gestures at the crystal leaves surrounding the access point. "And perhaps the basics of surviving in a place like this, but I sense that you don't need help surviving in the wild."
She tilts her head consideringly at Terra. "But if you have other questions, I can try to answer them for you."

Terra thinks for a moment... there was so much she didn't know. "Do you know how I got here? And where here is? This definitely isn't Jump City... Oh do you know how to get there? Or where I should go now?" She actually wasn't too keen to go back to Jump City... but at least she'd know where she was then. At least she wouldn't be Lost!

The creature smiles widely, eyes crinkling. "Of course I know! You're /here/, and /he/ brought you." She says cheerfully. "/He/ didn't name this place, so you'll have to--you and the others. I'm afraid I don't know why, or how or much more than that--those things are above my grade."

"I guess I need to go find others then... So who is this /he/?" Terra tried to keep the impatience out of her voice as she said this. She didn't think it was Ampharos's fault. Still though, she was going to have words with whoever this /he/ was. I mean.... even if I had kind of wanted to leave anyway doesn't mean I want to wake up some place without a name. she thought.

The golden beast stares at Terra with an expression that's a bit hard to make out, since it's not a /human/ expression exactly, but seems to be blank confusion. "/He/ is the creator." She says, and tilts her head to peer at Terra. "Do you have other questions?"

Terra sighs at the non-answer, but figures it's the best she'll get on that one. "I need to find others, do you know which direction I should head in? I saw some visions there like you said but I couldn't really make any sense of them, especially not knowing the place... Oh! Would you have a map of here?"
