Tiki's knife only just barely finds purchase in the sludgy bodies of the Grimer, while Justice merely bounces off of it.

"Sandy - ugh..." Clay starts to advance toward the melee put pauses, looking woozy. "Water Gun, finish that one off. I'm gonna... s-stand here for a bit..."
Sandy pours more water at the Grimer he'd targeted once the other went down. Clay, meanwhile, looks like he's struggling to keep his balance.

The Grimer's face is pounded into its body, but it reforms moments later, still ready to fight.

Clay makes a face, but manages to get himself moving again. The sooner these Grimer are pounded into the ground, the better. He gives a rather pained-sounding screech, which might be a challenge but is in fact an order for Sandy. Let's wreck this thing! Water Gun!
Then he darts in between the others, swinging his staff overhand down onto the Grimer. Sandy has to scamper around to find an unobstructed angle of fire, but it doesn't take him long before he fires another jet of water at the offending pile of sludge.

Clay's staff causes the final Grimer to splatter everywhere. It manages to pull itself together again, but doesn't get back up. It's definitely down for the count.
The party earns 17 Poke XP each.

Clay howls as the sword slices into him. Being pummeled, scratched, bitten, even burned, he's used to all of that. But the blade bites into him more deeply than any other injury he's had, slicing across his arm - he clamps his other hand over it instinctively, skipping back a step to try and get out of her reach.
He manages to hit the release on a Pokéball, releasing Fan, and screeches out a distressed command. Get the sword! It's metal, use Ember!
Fan bares her teeth at the girl and the swordlike Pokémon, chittering angrily. She'll show them what happens to people who hurt her brother. Fan spits fire - quite literally, blowing flames out at the sword. If it's a Steel-type, as seems likely, that'll be the best way to deal with it.
Clay Disengages! Clay sends out Fan! Fan's Initiative: 14 Fan uses Ember on the Honedge. AC 2 vs 7epdOv721d20; 2d6+24 Special Fire damage, Burn on 18+1d20·2d6+24

The girl locks eyes with Sano, her red orbs seeming to pierce into his very being. (Girl used Frighten. Sano loses 2 CS in Speed.) There is a burst of light as she hurls another Poke Ball, with a weird-looking, spiky green Pokemon appearing. The new Pokemon sends a wave of tiny needles at Tiki while the Girl slashes at the air in front of Sano, sending a condensed ball of shadowy energy at him.

Clay takes another few steps back. As much as he wants to jump into the fray, he feels like he's barely on his feet at this point - he doesn't want to risk it after he came off so badly in the last battle. He's recovered his composure a little now, and calls out to Fan in human speech this time. "Try to get in under her reach! Hit her with a Double Kick, hard and fast!"Fan grins fiercely and vaults into the air, trying to get around the spiky thing and the menacing sword. She spins in midair to kick the girl with both feet before bouncing off to land gracefully - still easily within the girl's reach, but hopefully having given her something to think about. Clay uses Agility Training! Fan's Initiative rises by 4! Fan's Movement capabilities rise by 1! Fan uses Double Kick on the girl! AC: 19, 11; ckr_sVVM2d6+34 Physical Fighting damage. 2d6+34

The weird sword again gets in the way of an attack aimed at the girl, and though Fan passes right through it, she was deflected enough to avoid hitting anything. The girl retaliates by slashing at Fan with the sword.

Stuff in the spoiler hasn't happened yet: Clay holds his breath when the girl swings at Fan, but the Chimchar dodges the blow nimbly, pulling a face at the girl. Fan's strike going through the sword obviously frustrates him; he's almost hopping up and down, and while he hasn't dropped back into screeching his voice is shrill. "Why can't we hit anything in this stupid swamp? Burn it!"
Fan is only too happy to oblige, spitting more embers at the sword. She's not any more pleased about it deflecting her attack than Clay is, after all.
Clay uses Agility Training! (For all the good it does.) Fan uses Ember on the Honedge! AC 2 vs epFSmAnB1d20; 2d6+24 Special Fire damage; Burn on 18+ 1d20·2d6+24
