Clay cocks his head as Tiki explains what she's learned. "Really? I'd've figured the Mankey would give them trouble, unless they just stay up on the slopes... uh, the Mankey, not the poachers. Anyway, good to know where they are. Maybe we can smack them one when we're done with this stuff."
He shrugs fluidly and darts on ahead, peering out to try and see signs of the diggers. "I always forget how far it is between the village and the mountain. From up on the mountain it looks so close... I think I see something up ahead there?"

Tiki pokes her head into the covo! "The guardian lives in Mt. Moon! Apparently it, and local wildlife are being disturbed, and the guardian is making those large tremors. The Guild fears that further angering the guardian might cause havoc! We aren't asking for you to stop your work, but to actually switch to stuff like hand tools. Apparently the ruckus from what you're using now is making it angry..."

Can't afford to switch equipment. Do you know how much that would set us back? At that rate, we'd be better off trying to build a road going around the mountain. Tiki blinks. "B-b-but you don't understand! If you keep this up it's only gonna get worse! We wouldn't have been sent here if it didn't obviously cause a threat to everybody here! And, we are just asking for a change of equipment. Work faster, or get more people out here. Even after that, we gotta go in and talk to the thing. So, if you stop making it angry, we can go inside, and hopefully not be attacked or hurt by an angry guardian. Could you do that for us, please?" The drive to get to the beach as fast as possible has seemed to have taken its toll on cute, little Tiki as she has developed extreme persuasion habits like mentioning that a cute girl like her might get hurt. Someone should check if she is ok.  |

Clay makes a somewhat irritated noise at the foreman's resistance, shaking his head. Then again, he's gotten used to the idea that Rei knows what she's talking about. "If it's just little tremors, that sounds more like a warning than 'all it's got'. You ever see a Primape beat its chest before it attacks to scare somebody off? Same deal. They know about this thing in Saffron; I think getting it angry is bad news."
He scratches the back of his head, ruffling his scruffy hair. "It's not like it's just this guardian. If the tools are upsetting it, they're probably riling up other Pokémon, too. Then you're gonna have all the Geodude and Zubat and everything all over you, on top of the angry guardian. What's gonna slow work down more - using quieter tools, or fighting the whole mountain?"

Clay gives the foreman what might, in bad light, be mistaken for a friendly smile, at least by someone who doesn't know that Clay's friendly smiles don't usually show his teeth. He doesn't break eye contact, but when he speaks it isn't directly to the foreman. "Rei? Is there a reason I shouldn't persuade this nice man to think about what we're saying?"

Rei listened in quietly as this man got more irate and her friends got a little more forceful. As Clay mentions 'persuading' she sticks her arm out in front of him.
"Yes, there's plenty of reason."
Fighting him won't really solve anything as a three on one fight will just teach him not to get into unfair fights and that's it. But we don't have to teach him, especially without any evidence.
Rei looks at the foreman for a while, and puts her arm down.
"Forgive my friends, they are quick to anger. We've gotten a tad used to people not believing us outright and at this point they've just become impatient. And I suppose forgive myself, as I misspoke before. Really we only want you to stop temporarily while we go in and convince it to stop so you can continue your work. We'll make sure it listens. And if it's not tremoring that hard now, then three accomplished guild members like us with full pokemon teams can take of it for you.
Rei gestures to Tiki's pokebelt.

The Foreman narrows his eyes. "Fine. I'll tell the boys to go on break for the rest of the day. Tomorrow morning, bright and early, we start again. Can't delay any longer than that. If you're not out of there, guardian or no, we'll just keep right on going."
