Tiki finally recovers from fighting with the stupid mushroom, and after picking up her pokemon, she finally meets up with the others. "Hey guys! We almost ready to head out?"

Rei makes it back from the healers. Now she is 'completely' out of money, and really hopes they can resolve this tonight. Now with the healing, Shinpuru is fully healed, but wouldn't be able to get more healing of further injury today. The healers had warned her of this, and she had told him he'd be a last resort. But she was happy to have him out, keeping her company.
"Yes, I'm ready if you all are. Tiki and I know where to go, if they stay in the general area, that is."

Sano finishes coating his sai in a thin layer of viscous grey paste. They smell faintly of cucumbers, but Sano handles the daggers delicately, placing them back in their sheaths with the utmost care.
"My Oddish friend Aloe is a little injured, but the rest of my team is healthy. I'm stocked up on healing items, and ready to leave whenever we need to. Is there any information Clay and I don't have that might be useful?"

Clay stretches to get the kinks out - he's still a little sore from yesterday but he thinks he's in pretty good shape now. "Uh, Fan, Sandy, and Flower are all okay for now but they're still recovering so I really don't wanna get into a fight tonight if we can help it. That lady with the fox thing - Fennekin? - she was a pain. Apart from that I'm about as ready as I'm gonna be."He straightens up with a sigh. "All I really know is they're predators and these poachers have them riled up. So I guess we oughta be careful approaching them..."Clay drains 1 AP to heal an Injury - it's been 24 hours since his last one so he should be up to full now.

With the party having completed whatever they wanted to do today, and restocked where possible, they all resolve to make their way back up Route 2 in hopes of finding those Wild Pokemon again. Tiki and Rei lead the others back to where they last encountered them. It's a little after dark by the time they arrive. They don't end up waiting very long before they hear movement in the grass again. More of the "mooks" have appeared, though they hesitate briefly when they realize there are more humans than last time.

Tiki spots the "mooks," and takes a step forward. "Hi there! Do you remember me? Or, maybe you remember Rei?"

"Clay, if you would."
Hoping he would translate for her, Rei turns from Clay to the Pokemon.
"We aren't here to fight. We need to speak with your leader."

The cat-ferret Pokemon seem as wary as ever, but from the looks of it, they're still pretty beat up from yesterday, and probably not looking to repeat that scenario, especially with more humans than before around. A few stand around watching you as others run back into the grass (supposedly to summon their leader).

Clay pauses for a moment and hands his apricorn balls to Rei. "Hold these guys for me? They might react better if they know I'm not gonna catch 'em or pull someone out to fight them."
Then he approaches the Zangoose slowly, holding his hands up to try and convey his peaceful intentions. He's dropped into low Growlithe noises, seeing as they're really his best "predator" language, and opens with a quiet, submissive whine as he addresses one of the Zangoose watching them, translating for Rei. We aren't looking for a fight. We want to help. Just hear us out - we'd like to talk to the boss.

The Zangoose seem marginally less wary when Clay starts talking like a Pokemon, becoming more confused than friendly/hostile. They stand their ground though, and their body language (and general emotional state) indicate they'll attack if anyone tries to get closer or makes a hostile action. (Disposition increased from Very Hostile to Fearful)

Rei takes them from Clay and pockets them for now. And after the pokemon do seem to calm down somewhat, so does she. It seems having Clay has helped a lot.
"Thank you Clay, it seems to be working already."
Rei turns back to the group.
"We do want to apologize for how last night went. We didn't want to have a fight."

The Wilds flatten their ears and growl slightly at Rei. Apparently they aren't happy to be reminded about their utter defeat. Just as it looks like these pseudo-negotiations are going to break down, the grass rustles again, and the leader with the trophy necklace appears, once again flanked by two "mooks". The others calm slightly when he appears (for the leader is, in fact, male) and the leader begins speaking. Even without knowing exactly what is being said, it's clear that they aren't in a good mood.
Clay's translation: "What do you humans want now?! Haven't you caused enough problems?"

Rei frowns when it seems problems are going to occur.
"What we want 'now' is the same thing as of yesterday. But now we can talk. We hoped to do without a fight yesterday but you gave us no choice. We know your group is attacking humans along this road. But we know why. There are bad humans capturing your kind. We want to help you fight them off. And in exchange, we want you to stop these attacks on humans who had nothing to do with it."

Clay translates Rei's offer as best as he can. After a moment, he adds in, We don't like these guys any better than you do. They've got no honor or respect, for humans or Pokémon. We'll take the bad guys down, on the honor of the Blazing Tree troop!
He... doesn't actually know how well this will go over with the Zangoose leader, since he's not entirely sure they see the world the same way Fighting-types wood, but it's the best way he can think of to back it up.

The "mooks" hiss at Clay when he mentions another group of Pokemon, and the Leader seems no more pleased than they do.
Translation from Zangoose-speak: "We don't need the help of some dumb monkeys! Let alone humans! You humans may be stronger than the rabble from the lair to the north (Cerulean) we've been punishing, but that doesn't mean you can handle these other humans! Not when our entire fesnyng (group of ferrets) couldn't! You really want to help us? Prove it. It's nearing the part of the season where the other humans start coming back to hunt us again. Prove yourselves by defeating their first group. Do this and we might allow you to help us further."
Clay understands that these are prideful creatures, who can't just readily accept help from others, no matter how dire the situation may be.

Clay sighs a little. Looks like he got too caught up in the moment. He'd love to respond to the 'dumb monkeys' comment but he's standing awfully close to a lot of very sharp claws and the past few days have done a good job of shaking his conviction of invincibility. "Apparently they want us to prove we're gonna be any good. I shoulda figured, my troop would probably be the same way - they're proud and don't want to accept help even if they need it. They want us to take out the first bunch of poachers that show up, which is apparently gonna be pretty soon. I'm guessing they mean the next few days anyway."

Tiki nods, and speaks up. "Well at least we are getting somewhere! Lets go ahead and start getting ready to get the jump on those nasty poachers!"

Rei sighs as she hears the translation.
"Its not ideal but yes we seem to be at least further along. Do they know 'where' these poachers attack from?"

"They said 'up north', I guess they're from around Cerulean?" He shrugs helplessly and turns back toward the Zangoose. Trust me, we can do that. We'll show you what we're capable of.
He's very carefully avoiding saying how are we supposed to know when they'll show up? He's well aware that Pokémon don't keep track of days like humans do, and asking is probably going to undermine the confident attitude he's trying to project.

Rei thinks for a moment.
"That is probably it Clay. Well I suppose we got time to wait for them, so maybe we can all make a trip to Cerulean in a few days after stocking up and see if we can get ahead of it rather than waiting for them."
