"I have a feeling she won't 'accept' her new duties..."
Rei's not happy about any of this. The usurper probably won't accept the duties, so they should just destroy her, right? The extra energy of 'subduing' her is going to get them all killed.

Tiki raises her hand. "Ummm...Is that it? What else should we do? How do we actually prepare to fight this usurper? Are other gods gonna help us? How do we fight them? Anything else we might need to get?"

"My presence alone would be enough to negate the Auras of Yveltal." Xerneas replies. "If they haven't directly offered you aid yet, then I would suspect the others do not plan to. As for how to fight them, I would like to point out that it was humans who labeled us as gods. We are simply Pokemon, in the end. Extremely powerful, reclusive Pokemon, but Pokemon nonetheless. We battle like any other. This Usurper may be different, however, being both Human and Pokemon. Likely, they will fight as both, so you must use the utmost caution. If you have other allies, I suggest that you rally them. The more of them that fight alongside of you, the more of them I can protect from the worst of Yveltal's Legendary Abilities. If they make a stand elsewhere or choose to go into hiding, I cannot fully protect them."

Clay winces slightly. "I dunno if all of them are gonna like that." Then again, he's casting a fairly broad net for 'allies' - or at least for people he'd want to be protected from Yveltal's Auras. He doubts Kalani really wants to be involved in the fight, and he's not sure the Fire Branch would take his word that going along with them on this is the best way. "Just how far do these Auras even go? Is there anywhere that'd be safe?"

"Auras, for all their power, have a relatively short range. I only meant to say if the Usurper deliberately targets someone that is not nearby, it would be difficult for me to reach them in order to protect them." (Auras only affect things fighting them.)

Well this news is at least decent. Rei still doesn't trust any of them but at least one is joining them rather than just sitting and waiting for humans to do their work. And if Rei manages to get people under her well then if they are in that final battle then they'll at least be protected. And if they could gather their allies, that'd be even better. It seems that there's not much left to ask, save for one thing, and Rei's not wanting to stay around. She's heard promises of help and honeyed words before. This is no different.
"Do you know anything of a 'Laurel Regal'?"

"The one of which you speak is currently protected here in the Grove. Her soul is weakened by the Usurper's control, but she lives. Given time, her soul will recover, but not while the Usurper runs rampant."

So Xerneas does have her.
Now wether Rei considers that her being here is comfort or captivity, it's still swirling in her mind. Somethings still clearly off. This is too easy. Why is Xerneas the only one to finally help them directly? And so openly? Is it just because her sibling is directly involved so the rules are out the window? And why isn't the Usurper's destruction on the table? Shouldn't she be more upset that Yveltal is dead? She doesn't trust this one, or any of this.
Regardless, she's not going to ask those questions directly. The 'Blessing' is just that Xerneas will join them at the right time, Laurel is now in a place she can see that she's safe, and some of their questions are answered. Rei's done with this.
"Alright... I guess that's it for this trip then. Thank you for your offer of assistance."
As she turns, Rei mutters 'You're about the only one' under her breath. She then looks for where they popped out originally, hoping it'll just be able to take her back.

Holly is quickly back through the portal-tree as well. First in line, even. Turns out it did just take you right back where you started from. That's helpful, at least.

Clay breathes out a sigh of relief. "That's good. When Rei said she'd disappeared like that, after we'd heard about you, I hoped it might be you that did it. Fewer lives that get ruined by this mess the better."
It's probably kind of selfish to be glad one person he's somewhat met is safe when a lot of people are probably going to get hurt in the conflict either way, but even one person helps. Speaking of which, Clay has one other thing to ask himself, even if he's a little hesitant. "Uhm. Talking of that, there are two people who the Usurper already... They're called Divini and Sano. I know it's selfish, but... apparently Cresselia's messenger said you might know a way to bring them back, after this is over. They, well, they were our friends, too."
He takes another deep, slightly unsteady breath. "You can see so much about us, I guess it's not hard to tell how I feel about that." Clay's friends are part of his troop. He wants to help them however he can - having them get killed, even when they were miles away and there was no way he could have done anything, feels like a failure. "I know everybody dies sometime, but... they weren't much older than me. If there was anything I could do to help them..." He makes a quiet, frustrated, monkey-ish sort of noise. Words are failing him again.

"Fret not, Clay. They shall be restored when the Usurper is defeated and their souls reclaimed." Xerneas soothes.

Tiki let out a breath of relief when Sano, and Divini would be ok if they stopped the Usurper. Tiki didn't have a ton of willpower for this role, but saving those two should push her enough. Tiki didn't have much insight to ask anything else, so she also took her leave of the legend's domain.

Clay lets out a sigh of his own. "Thank you. I just..." He trails off, not sure what to say.
He glances over his shoulder to see that Tiki has gone back through the portal as well. Quietly, he says, "I'm not gonna ask you to tell me what's going on in their heads. But... am I doing something wrong? Rei and Tiki keep falling apart around me and there doesn't seem to be anything I can do to help. Tiki just hates this whole mess now, I'm pretty sure she only came because I asked her to. And I don't even know what Rei's thinking about anymore. I just don't know what to do..."
He looks back up at Xerneas. "There was a... different nightmare, just before everything went nuts. It was kind of like Darkrai's messages but it was all about... personal romantics stuff, and it was different for each of us. As far as I can tell absolutely none of it was true, but it came after Rei and Tiki had already been having problems and I think it broke them, or something. Darkrai's messenger said the dream didn't come from him. It, whatever. Human pronouns are kind of a pain. It doesn't seem like something Yveltal would do, but could the Usurper have been behind it somehow?"

"I cannot say, for I do not know. Perhaps it was merely a nightmare forged from the remnants of Darkrai's energy and your own inner fears? I truly wish I could help you further, but all I can do is speculate. For your other question, I do not know that answer, but I do not believe you have done anything wrong."

Clay lets out another sigh. "Yeah, I was afraid of that. Well... thank you, anyway. It's good to know we at least have a chance. There's not a lot more frustrating than having people expect you to do something when you have no idea how to even start... Until Master Ming-Na told me about the path to find you I just kind of had to sit there with everybody falling apart around me, and Darkrai's messenger turning up to yell at us for not doing the thing we had no idea how to do."
He grimaces a little. He's trying not to air his opinion of Darkrai's envoy out in front of Xerneas and Xandria but it probably doesn't require telepathy to tell what he thinks of her attitude.
"I guess I better get going, too. Thank you - both of you. I guess this is kind of a silly thing to say to someone like you, but if there's ever anything you need... I'm probably never going to be able to repay you for your help but I'd be willing to try." Clay bows to the two of them again and turns back towards the portal. Unless either of them have anything more to say, he'll brace himself for the unfortunate experience and step back through.

Clay and Tiki bump into Piesc, Rei's Lucario, who is tracking Holly's now-invisible Trevenant by its Aura. The one thing it can't hide.

Clay trails behind Tiki, wishing he hadn't left Red Child back in Cerulean now. When he stuck around to ask Xerneas about his friends falling apart, he wasn't expecting them to manage to do it worse while he was talking about it.
He pauses in confusion when he sees Piesc staring intently at... nothing as he walks along. Well, clearly at something. He's a little hesitant to interrupt in case he distracts Piesc from something important, but eventually he reaches out to him and asks, "What are you looking at?"

Rei is trailing (unfortunately) quite a ways behind Piesc. Rei moving to box in Holly (Which failed) caused her to be reckless and take quite a few attacks. She hasn't been training to be defensive lately, so those attacks took a toll. One good smack and she's done. So after that pitched battle after hiking and two teleportations, she's tired. She has to lean against a tree for air. She's sweating, she's crying, and she's a general mess...

Meanwhile, ahead of Rei, Piesc is trailing the invisible Trevenant heading back toward Holly. Clay surprises him initially, but he reaches back and informs Clay that he's tracking Holly's Trevenant, who started moving invisibly and with some speed this direction.

Tiki pulls up near Rei, and sighs. Holly screwed the poochyena on this one. Tiki doesn't have time for petty insults right now. Action trumped words. Tiki hands Rei bandages, and 2 super potions from her bag. "Clay has a hunch that Holly might try to retreat to Lavender Swamp. You think that's a place we should investigate first?" She says this directly without anger, or condescendingly.
