Genevieve nods at Rei's words concerning "Spirits" or "Ghosts".
"Ah, that makes much more sense now. Thank you, Miss Rei. I confess I'm not really into the occult that much, but I have heard of Ghost Pokemon before, which is what I believe these pictures are of. Or at least the stump is clearly one. The sword... I know nothing about it, but I've heard that high-ranking Knights often carry a similar sword, and sometimes even twin swords bearing the same markings, though with a pink tassel instead of blue. If you want to know more about that, we have a Knight right here in the Guild. Her name is Sorra Shields, and she actually heads the Steel Branch."
With that out of the way, Genevieve addresses Rei's comments/concerns about the money.
"It isn't so much that the Guild is low on funds, it's just a rather large payout for brand new members to receive, and so there are some hoops to jump through. The fact that Lady D'Mara handed you a note means she probably considers it a 'Branch Mission' of sorts, and therefore the Guild is obligated to redeem it for currency if desired. I will admit though that it would save me a lot of time (and headaches) if you chose not to redeem this payment note. If you change your mind about the money..." she quickly scribbles down some directions and hands it to Rei.
"You can find the Guild's 'Counting House' (for lack of a better term) at this location within Saffron. It is a separate building owned by an independent group of financiers that the Guild has hired to keep track of our spending and the like."

Rei waves Tiki off as she leaves.
"Thank you Tiki!"
She once again turns to Genevieve.
"She's head of the steel branch you say? Well, that's interesting, considering I'm headed there in just a moment to ask to join up."
She takes the directions, and pockets them.
"It looks like Tiki and I will be preventing work for you, it seems. I know not of Sano and Clay's thoughts on the money. I will let them know their options. Thank you, Miss Genevieve. I believe it's a relief off of our collective minds to tell what happened last night. And if you ever need help, please do not hesitate to ask. Because I'm always happy to help!"
Rei gives a small bow and heads out of the Normal branch, finally in search of the Steel Branch. Two birds, it looks like.

Clay wanders into the infirmary to have the healers look after Fan and Sandy. Sure, it costs money, but even if his last battle got him paid in lunch instead he's still got quite a bit of it by his standards. "These two had a pretty tough battle. Could you look after them? Thanks."
(Clay pays 100 to have Fan and Sandy healed up.)
Even if he knows the healers know what they're doing, that doesn't mean there isn't some antsy bouncing around going on. Clay's not very good at sitting still to start with.

"I'll see you guys around. Rest up good. You earned it!" Tiki gives a little wave as she watches her pokemon be taken to the back. It does feel a bit lonely without them, but she'll probably manage. She spots a very familiar face in the infirmary, and quickly runs up to him, and hugs him.
"HIII CLAY!! What are you doing here? You guys didn't get hurt too bad I hope."

"OOF! Hi, Tiki!" Clay would know that greeting anywhere even if he didn't recognize her voice. "Had a good battle with this really nice guy whose farm I wound up on by mistake. They did great but it was close. Uh, if you ever run into a yellow duck thingy, apparently they get headaches so bad they give them to their enemies. Or something. Sure did a number on Sandy though." Clay doesn't really know a Psychic-type attack when he sees one.
Once he extracts himself from the hug he grins back at Tiki. "How about you, what've you been doing today?"

Tiki nods, and acknowledges Clay opening the flood gates.
"Oh! We had quite the day! We went out shopping to get some real useful items, so we don't end up in a pinch like last time. Oh! Then we went out of town to do some exercising, training, and even practiced some our routine. It's been shaping up, but I feel like we could do way better! Oh! Then after that we went out back to route 3 to hopefully find a new friend, and we did! It's aaaa....w-...Wynaut! Yeah! She's so cute, and really blue! Oh! And, after that, we went looking for some competition, and we ran into this shady looking old man! He made a bet that he could beat 2 of my pokes with one of his, but he didn't, and I won the battle too! We got lots of money for the bet, but the others got really roughed up, sooooo...Here i am!"

"Wow, you've been busy, huh?" Clay is doing his best not to be bowled over by the barrage of information here - she's talking a little too fast for him to absorb all of it. "That's, what, four on your team now? I was planning to go out looking for someone later but I thought I'd better get Fan and Sandy checked out first."
Clay doesn't know about Drowzee, since he was asleep for the whole fight.

Tiki giggles. "That's actually 5 on my team! Remember I caught Temperance in the swamp. She was the one putting us to sleep. She put in some work this last time. All of them did! In fact, they did so much, we are pretty tired. Gonna take it easy for now till everyone gets back."

"Oh! Didn't know you actually caught her." Clay stretches his arms out idly. "Like I said, I'll probably go out again for a bit, looking for someone new. I trained Flower some this morning but I still want to see how she does in a real battle, too. Gotta wait for them to finish with Fan and Sandy first though."
Or until the healers get tired of him bouncing off the walls, anyway.

Tiki has made her way to the dining hall, ready for some food. But, some very familiar, striking white hair, catches her attention. She immediately rushes towards the woman, and hugs her tightly from behind!
"HIIII RRREEIII!!!! It feels soooo long since I've seen you! How was your day!? Did you get into a branch!? Tellmetellmetellme!!!"

Rei was sitting down, with both Shinpuru and Sheru out, with the former trying to chew on the 'shell' of the latter. With Rei trying to run interference. She finally grabs Shinpuru, and lifts him off.
"Shinpuru, please, Sheru is 'not' for testing your teeth on! This brave knight has joined us to fight, not have his lovely armor chewed to bi-"
Rei's thought is interrupted as Tiki basically tackle-hugs her.
"Oh, Tiki, hi! Wait Shinpuru-"
STEEEEL NOM NOM
Shinpuru breaks free of Rei's grasp due to hugtervention and lands on the table. Sheru panics, and leaps on top of Rei's head, and closes the helmet to protect itself. Unable to reach the Shelmet, Shinpuru makes chomping motions from the table.
Rei turns, carefully as to not drop Sheru, and smiles at Rei.
"It hasn't been 'that' long. Or maybe it was cause I was bedridden for a portion of the day from the wound."
Rei sees Tiki's shocked expression and makes an 'oopsie' face. Apparently worrying Tiki wasn't the thing to do.
"Ummmmm! I caught two pokemon today! Wanna meet them?"

Tiki stares at Rei, and nods with tears in the corners of her eyes; not wanting to have a crying scene in the middle of dinner. She quickly slaps her cheeks, and pulls out her new Wynaut that lands on the table in front of them.
"I'll go first! This is my new friend......Oh. I didn't name you yet!" "Wynaut!" Tiki takes out her deck of cards, and places her hand on the top, and shuts her eyes.
"..........................Wy-" It tilts its' head to the side. ".....................-naut?" Tilt to the other side. "..................WYNAUT!!!!" It suddenly flails around on the table. Tiki opens her eyes, and draws a card with a flourish. "Now!.......You are......Fool!" She picks up the small, blue creature from rolling around on the table, and hugs it tight. "Wynaut!" "Mhm! I like it too!" Tiki then sits with Fool in her lap, and stares at Rei. "Your turn! Showmeshowmeshowme!"

Rei feels really bad when Tiki starts tearing up. She's about to reassure Tiki it's fine, when it seems Tiki snaps herself out of it. Rei sighs relief and goes on to point to the Shelmet currently taking asylum upon her head.
"This... brave knight is Sheru. A Shelmet! And..."
Rei releases her Flechling.
"And this pretty bird is Hari!"
Hari begins idly pecking the table, and Shinpuru starts spinning back and forth between the two, unsure of which threat is bigger. With her arms now free, Rei quickly pounces on Shinpuru before any damage can be done. Sheru falls down back onto the table with a loud *Clank* next to the newly named Fool. She looks back to Tiki as she realizes she forgot something.
"Oh I'm so sorry Tiki I never answered your question! Yes I did make it into a branch! The Steel branch was happy to accept me. There were... complications after I joined, but no issues now."

Tiki laughs, and smiles at the antics of Rei's troupe. She then gives another hug to Rei for making it into the guild. "Hooray!! I knew you would make it in! Clay, and Sano, need to get here so we can celebrate!"

Tiki grins big, but then she sits straight up, and stares blankly into space. "Oh....oh.....Oh?.....Oh! OHOHOHOH!!! REIIIII!!!!" Tiki stands up, and grabs her shoulders. Her eyes are wide, and unblinking. "Celebrate....We....could....perform....Ohmygosh, Rei! Let's perform! Right now!"

"It's not about KNOWING, silly! I'm gonna sing some songs! Fast ones! Slow ones! And, even ones thought to be 'un-dancible! But, I believe in you, Rei! Don't 'KNOW'!' You gotta 'FEEL!'" Tiki pats her shoulders, and hops up onto the table.
Tiki cups her hands, around her mouth, and yells out, "HHHEEELLOOOOO, EVERYONE!!!!" She strikes a pose, and grins happily. "MY NAME IS TIKI, REPRESENTING THE NORMAL BRANCH!! AND THIS IS MY LOVELY PARTNER IN CRIME, REI, REPRESENTING THE STEEL BRANCH!!!!" Tiki gets some cheers from her Normal branchmates, and some other rogue cheers. "We've all been having such a great time, and it's only our third day for some of us! So to celebrate guild pride, epic endeavors..." She holds out her hand for Rei to get on up to the table. "...New friendships! We are gonna put on a spectacular impromptu performance for you all. I will serenade you all with songs, and Rei here will dazzle, and mystify you with beautiful dances!!" Much more cheers erupt from the crowd. Tiki beams, and looks back to Rei. "Welp? Ready?"

Rei shakes her blushing out as Tiki basically gives a speech. When Tiki holds her hand out, Rei grasps it tight and rises to the table (Quickly returning everyone but Shinpuru, just to not have something happen while she's paying attention)
"Ready."

Tiki, beams again as she hoists up Rei, and looks out at the mass of people now in the dining hall staring at them. Tiki stars by sending out Star, who hops onto her shoulder. Suddenly more people come up to the table. Two young women from the Grass, and Bug branch respectively. One with an intricate looking grass whistle, and the other with ornate string instrument. The other is a boy from the Rock branch, and armed with two smooth looking sticks, turns over a few plates and bowls, and begins to drum on them. Tiki grins brightly, and tells them to play, and she will supply song. She then begins to tap her foot to set a beat, and begins with a simple, yet cute, and up beat song. Tiki sings in a completely different language, but her charisma, and charm are enough to engage the crowd.The crowd laugh, and chuckle at the song, but eventually get into it with clapping along. |
