Welcome to the Lysia region, young Trainers! A region of temperate climate and gorgeous locales, where people and Pokemon alike thrive. The region is especially famous for being the set of more than a few movies due to its natural beauty, and as a result, the region is a popular tourist destination. But movies and tourists aren't the only thing the Lysia region have going for it - there is, as always in this world, the ever-present Pokemon League!
Young aspiring Pokemon Trainers can take on the Pokemon League challenge, facing the eight Gyms and their Leaders and participating in tournaments, for the chance to be crowned Champion of the Lysia region! Of course, the road is long and full of unexpected danger, and so the Pokemon League encourages the formation of "teams" - groups of young Trainers banding together, putting their resources together, to make the journey that much safer.
Unfortunately, two Teams - with a capital T! - have moved out of the shadows, pushing forward with their plots and threatening the safety of the region. These two Teams, Team Dawn and Team Dusk, have unknown motives, and any Trainers who encounter them are advised to alert the local authorities immediately. Engaging with these criminals is ill-advised!
Plot: This game is going to be your standard "Gym crawl" sort of game. You'll be playing young Trainers getting their first Pokemon from Professor Pine (pictured below), one of six Professors in this region. Along the way, you'll find yourself face-to-face with the dangerous Team Dawn and Team Dusk!
Players: I'm looking for a group of 3 to 4 players.
Characters: We're starting from the ground up here! Trainers will start at level 1 with a single level 5 Pokemon, chosen from the starter pool below. You will begin with a starting kit composed of 5000 Pokedollars, 5 Pokeballs, and a Pokedex. Feel free to purchase pretty much anything else you may need, but do note that weaponry will likely have restricted use in the game itself. Also, we will be using the playtest packets.
Pokemon will be able to have one Egg Move and two Inheritance Moves (at 20 and 30), though these are subject to approval and may need altered if they're too out there.

Banned Content and Restrictions:
- We won't be using anything from the Do Porygon Dream of Mareep, Game of Throhs, or The Blessed and the Damned books.
- Supernatural classes are going to be heavily restricted, and likely be on a case-by-case basis. I'd recommend asking about it before you go ahead and try to get it in, at least.
- Combat classes will not be restricted in creating a character, but do note that there will be very little opportunity to use these in League-sanctioned battles and tournaments. There may be a handful of opportunities to use them, but the vast majority of the time there will not.
If there are any questions about anything about the game, please feel free to ask away either in here, via PM, or on Skype. You can find me on Skype either on this forum's general group chat or by searching for me by username (which is "englishdemon", without the quotation marks.) EDIT: Here's a link to the group chat!
One last thing! Applications will be closing at the end of September 6th (one day after my birthday!), so make sure to apply by then if you're interested!
Questions and Answers
- What is the age range for characters? Characters can be anywhere between the ages of 10 and 13, 14 if you feel like pushing that.
- Can we spend some of our starting money on TM's? Within reason, yes. This is still subject to approval.
- Will we be able to access Mega Evolutions over the course of the game? Yep! Furthermore, Mega Evolutions will be a thing primarily for a Trainer's signature Pokemon - their ace, if you will. As such, don't feel like you have to pick a Pokemon that already has a Mega in canon, as even those that don't have a chance to get one!
- What do you mean by "one egg move and two Inheritance Moves"? An egg move, in this case, is a move that your starter starts with - hatched right out of the egg with it, as it were! The two Inheritance Moves are simply put on the Inherited Move list. These moves can be drawn from a Pokemon's Egg and Tutor move lists (though Tutor moves can only be drawn from the base stage's Tutor moves).
