While the group made their way along the excitingly unfamiliar terrain, Harmon had some of his archaeological 'detection' gear out and active. It had started as a farce decades ago, to make himself look busy and productive to investors, but over the years the odd-looking devices he had cobbled together from scrap had actually proven useful somehow by sheer accident. Even Harmon himself wasn't really sure how exactly his current 'Dowsing Rod' worked, though he had a number of technobabble explanations ready for anyone who asked; it was only important that, for the most part, it did, though it wasn't always reliable. Soon enough, though, his meandering explorations along the side of the road were interrupted. With escape cut off and some mean-looking brutes ahead, Harmon sent out his own Pokemon and tried to keep himself near the center of the group, letting his taller guildmates present themselves as the bigger targets for the moment. The Cyndaquil that materialized at his side looked almost normal, though its coloring was slightly off and the usual fire-generating spots on its back appeared to actually be small bumps of obsidian on closer inspection. It perked up a bit at being let out in a new environment before noticing the group of Pokemon barring their path, regarding them with a dispassionate gaze. It didn't seem impressed by their show of force. This seemed like a standard toll extortion operation to Harmon, but he wondered what exactly these Pokemon wanted from them. Food? Surely they had no use for money. "Now, gentlemen, I'm certain we can resolve this without undue violence. These Pokemon obviously don't just want to smash our skulls in. Perhaps we can provide them with something they need, and move on in peace?"Not that Harmon had any intention of leaving all these Pokemon behind. He was certain the Guild would find some value in them even if he had little personal interest in these species. But it might be helpful if the wild Pokemon misunderstood their own intentions. Mo look at the Machops and the oddly colored Pawniard not surprised that Magnar had seemly abandoned them to face the wild Pokémon on their own. Magnar had been talking about tests after all and only one word came to mind at their treatment. "It's an initiation..." Mo murmured as he realized that the journey to the guild was most likely a standard test for new recruits. With one hand on his wakizashi, Mo pull out a slightly scratched Pokéball and release his Pokémon. "Koka," Mo murmured as a Sandile appears and immediately start to lovingly rub it's snout against one of Mo,s combat boots. Mo gave Koka a long suffering look with a hint of a smile on his lips before firmly sliding the Sandile forward with his foot. "Eyes forward, Koka. Get ready..." Koka snaps playfully at Mo's bootlaces as she was push forward but nonetheless focus her gaze on the wild Pokémons, looking over them before giving them a sharp snap of her jaw and a dark glare. Mo step beside Koka allowing Hamon to hide amongst them before giving the Pwaniard a stare down from beneath his bangs. "If anyone think they can reason with them, now is the time. That one..." Mo, tilt his head at the odd Pwaniard. "Looks to be the leader."
Mo tries to give the impression that their group is not worth the wild Pokémon's effort by being intimidating. muQSvqtG4d6

Eric determines that despitre their metal weapons and armour, the Machop remain fighting type. Looking closer at Pawniard he realises that the metal composing it's body is not a uniform shade of green and gray. Instead the edges of it's blades are heavily corroded, with a dark green moss growing on the parts of it that would normally be red, seemingly protecting it from the corrosion. It is a Grass/Steel type. The Machops seem even more eager for the fight as Mo attempts to Intimidate them. They start banging their clubs against their forearms, fully ready for combat. "Agni, a bit of cover?" Harmon suggested, and the strange Cyndaquil began breathing heavily, building up a head of white smoke that suddenly darkened and spewed forward in a thick black cloud from its back to roil across the bridge. Within moments, they were momentarily hidden from the group of Machop that had first blocked their way. "Nicely done! That ought to buy us a few extra seconds to deal with these miscreants first." He turned and gestured to the Pokemon behind them with his cane, a twinkle in his eyes as he grinned amicably at the Pawniard. "Are you sure you want to tangle with us, fellas? I'm not a betting man, but your odds don't look so good from here."Harmon used Confide on the green Pawniard, on the off-chance it knows Absorb or something. Focused Training wouldn't do much for Smokescreen, after all. Confide (AC 2) Ye528a881d20 On hit, -1 SpAtk CS.

"That's an interesting little buddy you have there professor," Neel comments when he sees Harmon's Cyndaquil. Turning back to the approaching Pawniard and Machop, Neel reaches into his bag for some jacks that he picked up in the city, and throw them out in front of him. "Let's hope these do something. Bella, would you kindly put the Machop to sleep?" Neel asks his pokemon, hoping that she still shared some characteristics with the Slakoth he knew from the outside world, and just like the Slakoth he knows, she lazily looks at the Machop he had asked her to knock out. Neel throws down an Abrasion Trap that covers the other side of the bridge, any foe that runs into it lowers Def and SDef by 1 CS.
Bella uses Yawn on the Machop, it will fall asleep at the end of its next turn.

Eric also eyes Harmon's Cyndaquil curiously, though he doesn't say anything about it. Instead, he says, "It's not looking like they're going to listen to reason," and shouts a command to Zephyr, "Air Cutter on the Pawniard!"Immediately after issuing this command, Eric throws the empty Pokeball he was holding at the Machop with as much force as he can muster. He crosses his fingers, hoping he doesn't miss and if he indeed doesn't, that the Pokeball stays shut. "Well at least I slowed down half of the party." Neel comments as the two Machop on the other side of his spikes didn't move toward the party and stayed put. As Neel looks at the fight quickly, he can't see the Sandile through the heavy smoke but he hears the slightly pained grunt, as well as the hard hit that the Cyndaquil took. "Okay Bella, let's try this again, why don't you go and scratch up that Machop beating up on Agni." Neel half pleads with his small pokemon. While doing so, he pulls out one of his pokeballs to try and catch the rather interesting Pawniard they were fighting. He throws the pokeball, toward the grassy creature in hopes of capturing it. The Pawniard's Scratch barely scratches Zephyr, who coos defiantly. "That's it, Zephyr, show it who's boss," Eric says grinning. "Those traps sure come in handy," Eric tells Neel. "I'm glad I have some resourceful people around." Eric spots Neel going for an empty Pokeball and smiles at his Pokemon, "Let's do our own bit to help; Air Cutter again, same target!"Eric was a little worried about Harmon and Mo's Pokemon, but he figured they would be fine. While Agni was technically vulnerable to the Machop's fighting moves, Harmon knew her hide was much tougher than a normal Cyndaquil's; the kick barely registered, and seemed to only piss her off more than anything else. The small protrusions on her back glowed white-hot as the armed Machop hit, and it came away badly burned from the intense heat. Spotting the glow through the smoke, Harmon chucked a Pokeball towards the Machop. "Excellent work, m'girl! Now, why don't we show that other ruffian what for with some more of that spitfire?" Agni didn't need much prompting, already heated up - a swirling storm of sparks flew through the haze to shower the second Machop blocking the bridge, though none of them seemed to hit home. Koka snap shut her jaw from the bludgeoning attack before shaking the hit with an annoyed flick of her tail. With a vicious gleam in her eyes, Koka crawl forward and gave the Machop another bite from her maw. Meanwhile Mo look to his companions as they seem to throw Pokéballs left and right catching and removing the Pokémons that had stood in their way. Internally Mo smile at the show of competence but his main thought was on Koka and her opponents. "Hmm-hmm, nice work gentlemen! Agni, let's put a few dents in that last one's helmet." The Cyndaquil scampered up to the Machop, rearing up on its hind legs and raising its pudgy forelegs. The last Machop faints under your assault. You gain 23 Pokemon Experience each!
As the smoke clears you spot Magnar standing on the edge of the bridge, cheerfully spinning a pokeball seeming carved out of a red gemstone on his finger. "Admittedly I'd have finished quicker, but you guys didn't do too bad. Onwards" He says, leading you forwards.
Mystery Roll: _gdcNwK41d4
After a few hours you come across a section of blocked road in the middle of a small forest. Three large trees have grown and left the road impassable for anyone who isn't on foot, cracking the stone of the road. Magnar frowns at the trees. "Well shit. I have to take care of this. You guys can either explore the forest." He says, pointing at a game trail that leads into the trees. "Or go ahead alone. Your pick."1d4

"I'm inclined to do a little extracurricular exploration, myself!" Harmon declared, marching off towards the trail before looking back expectantly at his meat shields... er, guildmates. He already had one interesting catch he expected to make a decent trade on, and hopefully something else (less aggressive) would make an appearance. Plus, if luck was with him Harmon might spot something more in line with his areas of 'expertise'... though he doubted it, this close to settled areas that had probably already been picked clean. After the battle on the bridge, Neel recalls Bella, and pulls out a notebook, from his pack, and starts writing away in it, as they travel. However after a time he switches it out for a different set of books, that are much larger, that he opens and closes every ten to twenty minutes and makes a few markers in. If anyone asked he would tell them he was mapping the way, since it could always be useful. As they approached the trees blocking the road, Neel marked down their current position as well as the small game trail, before putting the book away. "We will likely find other interesting pokemon in these woods. As well as anything else unique to the continent." Neel replies, as he starts walking down the path, making no sound even moving through the bushes lining the road; the others would follow him either way. Survival for Map (just in case): Fgd6IrbS4d6

Eric left Zephyr out of her Pokeball, figuring that another head to lookout for the party couldn't hurt. He shrugged and followed Harmon and Neel to the forest area. "More Pokemon is always good," he said, though whether it was to Neel, or to himself was unclear. His intentions were clear as he got out an empty Pokeball from his pack and began throwing it up and down as he walked. Now, let's see where those Pokemon are at... Mo look after the others then took a quick glance at his watch before asking Magnar when he expected to done clearing the road. As soon as Mo got a reply he affirm that the group would be back in the amount of time and then quickly went after Eric letting his own Pokémon out in silent agreement. After a moment of quiet contemplation Mo spoke. "... Everyone stay together we can't afford to be separated let alone get lost." As the group ventured forward Mo kept a close eye on the as well as try to keep account of the others. After a quarter of the time given to them was up Mo called for the others to a stop, suggesting for them to search the area where they were before they turn back.
