"Nope. There is a door on the right, door on the left, and one up the center, but that one has no lights." she stated, shining the flashlight on all sides as she did so to illuminate what she was talking about. "I vote we go right personally, for no other reason then I feel like it."

"I have heard is good way to explore mazes," Arden nodded sagely, "always go right. Is good plan." He stepped into the room and approaching the doorway to the right, sending Pangolin near the gemstone. "Treasure?" he wondered. "Or cursed?"

Ovelia sighed, "Sure...why not?" She said with an internal groan as she moved to follow behind the giant. She didn't care much for a 'pick a random direction and always go that way'. It seemed to just get rid of any planning whatsoever. However, at the same time she didn't have much of a plan of her own. As she took a step, a thought crossed her mind. "Hmm...actually... Niyol. Use your intuition. Which way do you think?"

As the comment was made by Ovelia, and the two members of their party stepped through the right side threshold. A sound resounded throughout the room. The sound of something hitting something with a loud thud. A loud Thud. Then another, and another quickly after it. Finally as they looked around the saw the other three entrences were now blocked by the same trees packed tightly together blocking all the other exits.
Then the path that Arden and Alex went slammed shut, as trees burst from the ground extending into the ceiling. Locking the room from the others.
The gems in the room they were in quickly lit up a bright shade of green illuminating the room. Around the members in each of the corners appeared small yellow headed pokemon. They stared at their opponents, and started moving forward.
On the other side of the wall Alex and Arden heard the loud thud behind them. Two large crystals in their room illuminated the room in a large pink glow.
On the other side of the room there were two trees with several heads growing out of them looking at the pair, both of them seemingly standing guard to a large Chest.

The moment the loud noise resounded behind him, instinct kicked in and Arden whirled, just barely stopping himself before striking the solid wood that now barred the way behind him. Ahead, Pangolin had take a defensive stance, its spines bristling around it, but Arden held it back from attacking for the moment. Strangely satisfied that he had remained in control despite the sudden 'threat,' he turned back to face the tree-monsters. They had yet to show aggression, but it seemed likely that the creatures would attack if they made an attempt for the chest. "I am thinking, right... was wrong," he murmured to Alex, eyes bulging as his chest heaved in silent laughter at his own cleverness. "I should open door, we all fight together?" He hefted the Shovel, indicating that he would attempt to pry the trees apart, or failing that hack through them. "Or we take treasure alone?"Pangolin used Defense Curl.

Mael waited for Niyol to respond to Ovelia, thinking that he could add his own input after that, but alas fate had other ideas. Suddenly a loud sound resounded through the room. Looking around, he finally noticed that Arden and Alex had already gone through the door, thus apparently setting off some kind of defense mechanism. Mael watched as constructs appeared within the room. They're probably dealing with constructs too, he figured, thinking that since they had actually entered the room, Alex and Arden may actually be face to face with something worse than these somewhat feeble looking plants.
Mael neared the door, not getting too close to the plant constructs. "We'll deal with these and try to get to you as quickly as possible!" he shouted, hoping he could still be heard through the door. "There must be some kind of way to switch off the defense mechanism again. It might be as simple as defeating these 'guardians'," Mael said more to himself than to the others. He summoned his spell book and prepared a large chaotic orb of dark energy. He blasted it at both the plant in the bottom right corner and the right side of the trees blocking the door, hoping to possibly blast through them. Mael didn't hold back at all, draining some of his health to increase his magical power. With a mental command, he also began directing Tenebram to attack one of the plants. After he was done, since he was closer now, he tried to get a good look at the gemstones. Perhaps they are key to disabling the defenses?
While Mael was inspecting the gem from a distance, Tenebram went to work on a plant construct. He slashed at it with his wings encased in a bright white energy.

The large gem from the distance Mael was looking at definitely was magic, but from what it seemed like he'd need to take a closer look at it to figure anything out about it.

"Traps...in a dungeon. What a surprise." Ovelia said with a sigh as she looked over at the constructs and at the gems. She drew her blades and slashed them across her bracers as she drew on her magic to strengthen herself. "Any preferences on attacks?" She asked as she glanced at each corner and summoned Luxio. Luxio stood next to her and also charged up. Vicious, ability for extra standard on hone claws. Hone Claws+Charge for Ovelia, summon Luxio J27. Luxio charge

Alex looked behind her and said to Arden, " I don't think the door will open with just your effort. Which means either inspect the gems, wait for them to open the door, or open the treasure. We might as well do that." She lifted her head towards the chest and said, " Might as well check the chest I think" As she said that, the two trees near the chest moved forward. Seemingly looming towards the trainers.
[/hr] Ovelia's magic activated quickly charging herself up, and sharpening her blades. Then quickly after her action Mael releases a mighty blast of Arcane magic shredding the bellsprout, but it stays standing. Barely. His Murkrow does a quick attack flying at another one of them. But as the attack flies in, the Bellsproute sways quickly to the side wrapping a vine around the flying pokemon, and directing it into the wall. Niyol Notices this using Flynt to attack first, and flynt charages in with a simllar attack before the bell sprout did the same. " These things can use our own attacks against us!" He said, " If it's physical I think." With that he threw his arms forward releasing a blast of air at the opponent. With that the bellsprouts sprung into action. The hurt one charged into Mael's construct Tenebram, while the other one on the opposite corner charged Ovelia's constuct. Bellsprouts used sway, so I forgot that took up their action. Ignore one attack on tenebram, the second. And ignore the one at flynt.

"I will keep trees busy," Arden nodded to Alex. "You get treasure." The barbarian sent his construct spinning, ramming into one of the trees with its hard-edged spines and bouncing over it to land on the opposite side. Meanwhile, he approached the other tree and tried to wrap his burly arms around it, but couldn't quite get a grip. Still, his considerable bulk would hopefully prove a deterrent to the monster if Alex tried to slip by. Pangolin used Rollout for 35 damage vs. the top eggtree, while Arden failed a grapple attempt against the bottom one.

"Ugh...seriously?" Ovelia groaned at the comment about Niyol and it using its attacks against them. "Whatever, someone kill this one before it can get up then." Ovelia said as she tried to kick the Bellspout in the face to flip it on its back. At least if it was on its back it'd have a much harder time using their attacks against them. As she knocked the plant on its back she nodded for Arthur to move in and attack. At least his charge would hopefully not be wasted, she figured. Arthur stepped forward and slammed a powerful burst of electric magic into the beast. Ovelia suspected it would absorb a lot, but at least it was charged and hopefully would damage it. Ovelia uses combat maneuver: trip to trip bellsprout Arthur uses Spark on same bellspout for 53 physical electric. Do note that he can't swap cause trip means no actions can be spent until a shift is spent to stand up

Seeing a plant construct so close to him, Mael reacts instinctively and releases a dark concentrated pulse of magical energy at the construct. He then directs Tenebram to keep attacking the plant construct nearest to the bird. It might be a physical attack, but I bet it only takes one hit with it to take these constructs out, Mael reasons.

Ovelia's swift kick knocks the Bellsprout to the ground. As a Aurthor takes the chance to quickly cross the field and smash it's self into the pokemon. Niyol, and Flynt quickly work together, both of them rushing the bellsprout at once, air swirling around them, shredding the bellsprout to pieces. As it hits the ground it turns into leaves falling onto the ground. Mael's blast of magical energy, shreds the barely standing bellsprout. Making the entire attack burst into leaves. The Pangolin tries to overun by rolling but the Exeggutor gets slammed into, clearly hurt. The last remaing bellsprout stands, and uses it's body to whip at Aurthor with his arms. Striking at the pokemon. The two Eggsecutors look at the consturcts in the room releasing a blast of psychic energy at them. The Heracross chages forward attempting to use it's claws to cut at on of the eggsecutor. Then finally Arden moves forward grappling the the tree to the ground. Alex waits for Arden to grapple the Heracross, " got it! Thanks! " As she says that she moves up to the large chest throwing the top open, and pulling out from inside of it, two green crystals. " What do you suppose these are for?" Alex asks. Exeggutor 2 provokes an AOO from Arden as well. Also, everyone in the main room, I.E Ovelia and Mael give me perception checks.

Ovelia sighed in annoyance as the Bellsprout knocked out Arthur. She couldn't risk stabbing it due to its ability to turn attacks around, yet her ranged abilities were much weaker. She took a step back and hurled her throwing knife at the pokemon before yanking it back with her magnetism. Shift: Disengage to K27 Standard: Cheap shot, 20 physical normal damage

As the attack lands into the last Bellsprout it falls to the ground. As all of the remaining Bellsprouts finally fall to the ground and turning into leaves.
With that the room went quiet. As the doors didn't seem to open.
Yet something about the room felt wrong.

When the blast of psychic energy hit Pangolin, a faint rune briefly flared to life in front of it before fading, seeming to reduce the force of the attack. Still spinning, it gained momentum as it turned about and smashed back over the tree-beast. Attempting to hold his own monster back with the Shovel's shaft, Arden slammed it as it was distracted by its own attack to push it back slightly before making a slash across its egg-like heads. "More crystals - like keys, maybe?" he called in response to Alex's question, jerking his head towards the larger crystals that provided the room's source of light. Pangolin uses its Bitter Treat Digestion Buff for 10 DR against the Special attack, leaving it at 58/77 HP, then uses Rollout again (now at DB8) for 45 damage.
Arden's AoO does 28 damage if it hits, then uses Flail for 31 damage.

Despite all enemies being defeated the door doesn't open. Well I'm not surprised. That would have been too easy, Mael thought. He looked around the room, but his focus kept returning to that gem he was inspecting earlier. "These gems must do something, I can't believe that they're just decorations," Mael said out loud for Ovelia's benefit. With that that in mind, Mael walked closer to one of the big gems and started sizing it up, checking for any clue or hint. He also tried to remember anything he could have heard about dungeons and gems within them.

As Pangolin slammed into the Tree, it broke quickly into splinters. Leaving it in pieces under it.
Following up at the same time Arden slammed into the remaining tree hard. Knocking it back, right into Alex's stinger. Her stinger was glowing with green energy, and struck into the remaining opponent.
"Maybe." She said, pulling it out of the tree.
As she did, what remained of the trees turned into piles of leaves on the ground.
She tossed Arden one of the two crystals, "Check the other one?"
On the other side of the door Mael examined the crystals. As she checked them closely, he found the similar runic markings to those inside of the tomes. They seemed to be inscribed with a magic that was waiting for a particular kind of magical signature to activate.
He noticed that while the inscriptions both Crystals while being exceptionally similar, they had different energy's they were waiting for.

Arden nodded with a curious grunt as he caught the small crystal with some fumbling of his beefy but clumsy fingers, tilting his head from side to side as he approached the larger shard. He was no scholar, but had been trained in fighting against magic and had good instincts for such things, and had grown fairly proficient with his own growing power. Watching how the two crystals resonated and looking for any environmental clues in their surroundings, he tried to get a sense for their function. Intuition (18) to suss out what the crystal does.

Examining the crystal, it seemed like it would react when something was placed next to it.
