With everyone heading to bed for the night their sleep was peaceful with Niyol back in The Pot and everyone able to get a good nights rest. It wasn't long until the next next morning where the young knights were summoned to the nurses office where Ovelia was still hurt. Oddly though, Ovelia woke up today feeling far better than she had the night before. Examining her body she found that she was covered in bandages in several areas helping her body be kept together, and the feeling in some of the right side of her body had come back. Strangely though in a single area of her body she could smell a horrible earthy smell that made her want to gag, but that single part of her right side felt better than the rest. As she awoke, the rest of the members of the group, save for Thane arrived on Shelldon's message, saying Mael had the information for their next mission already. Ovelia is cured of 2 wounds.

Mael appraised the group gathered before him. Ovelia was looking much better than when he had last seen her, which was good, great even. Mael took a deep breath, and then he started talking. "So, yesterday when I talked to Sans, I was informed of what our next mission will be. In three days time we will head to a labyrinth. It will serve as a training method to prepare us for eventually exploring another labyrinth, which is much more dangerous. You see, the reason we are doing this is kind of because of me, or rather because of my brother Alvar, a member of the Order of the Blackest Sun, who was thought dead. Recently I've found out that he's still alive and Sans, who knew about all this, kindly gave us this mission as we are unfortunately not currently strong enough to search for clues on his whereabouts in the other labyrinth I mentioned. If you wish, you can ignore the aspects of the mission that are personal to me and see it only as a mission to make us stronger, strong enough to be eventually able to take on foes like the first mate without suffering major losses."

Alex listened intently on what Mael was saying, but as he delved into the reasoning behind it, something seemed off. It was not that she didn't trust Mael, because he had given her no reason not to, What she was doing however was questioning Sans, as the man seemed to be weirder and weirder, coming up on strange info and handling situations in different ways. "I don't mean to be rude, considering we are talking about rescuing your brother, but I got to ask. Why are we in the Youngest Sage handling this instead of the Blackest Sun and why is Sans training us up instead of sending out a team now, when you say your brother is in danger and has been for a long time? Why not just send a suitable team now and end the ordeal?"

Mael shrugged. "Unfortunately I'm as out of the loop here as you are, I can't pretend to know what those above my station think or know. You're best served asking Sans himself. Your questions are good ones though, I'm a little disappointed in myself for not thinking of them when I talked to Sans. If you do go and ask him, would you mind if I was there too? I'd like to know the answer as well."

Upon entering the infirmary Niyol made a point not to look at Oveila and took a spot against an empty wall waiting for the debriefing. Niyol listens to Mael with his eyes close trying to maintain his jawline in such a way that doesn't hurt like hell. Half distracted as he was Niyol simple gave Mael a small nod without questioning why. But when Alex questioned why Niyol took a moment to think about it before speaking in an incredibly controlled voice. "We... Can only do it?" 'Maybe because we are the only one that save him?'

Ovelia awoke to slightly less pain, but a terrible smell. Luckily, her massive headache from the last day seemed to be gone so while the smell was gross and made her want to gag, she refrained from throwing up. When the others had arrived, she hadn't been the most thrilled due to hating the fact that everyone had been summoned to gather around while she was still injured and laying in bed like some weakling. On the upside, her broken knee seemed to have healed so she found herself able to sit up. On the downside, her right arm was still disabled, though at least it was held up in a sling.
She looked over at those present, trying to see through her swollen right side of her face while trying to avoid the pain still coming from her nose and shoulder. With her concussion seemingly gone, she could at least remember most the details, even if some of it was a blur due to occurring while she was still injured. When Mael talked, his comments confirmed what she suspected. She had somehow been defeated by the stupid first mate. Since she didn't recall drawing a weapon, she guessed it was probably some stupid cheap shot. However, regardless of the reason it was upsetting to know that the lowly pirate had caught her off guard enough to injure her that badly...again. Ovelia's face flushed red with shame at the thought. She was supposed to be the ace and the well-trained swordsman, to be defeated by a simple pirate, even in a cowardly cheap way was a harsh blow to her pride. She trained and worked out every day, was always working to improve her speed and accuracy, and had worked to blend her magic and swordsmanship into a beautiful dance of blades.
She raised an eyebrow at the mention of Mael's brother. The mission seemed a bit odd to give to a group since it seemed so personal, but his brother was a knight and needed help. It wasn't really relevant that it was Mael's brother. Plus, the next mission was about training and getting stronger which Ovelia definitely had no problems with. She had been knocked out almost every mission so far and hated looking like a weakling. The idea that, even in a cowardly attack, she could be defeated so easily was painful. Her pride meant that at the moment she would do almost anything to get stronger. She didn't want to be the girl that kept getting beat up every fight and in the infirmary every day. She wanted to be the person that could defeat any threat to the country with ease. She wanted to be able to drop the enemy before they realized what was happening. "Seems simple enough." Ovelia said forcing herself to stand up from off the bed. As she put her leg against the ground, she was glad to confirm that the knee seemed fully healed. She didn't have any trouble putting her weight on it. She shifted her weight a bit to test that it was perfect. Once she was content she looked at the rest. "Anything else we need to know about the mission? Anything particular about the three days? Or just free-days to train?" She was eager to leave the infirmary and try to act like nothing had happened. Hopefully within three days the mages healer would be able to fix her arm. It had after all only taken two to fix her knee.

"There is little more to the mission than what Alex has discovered to be strange. We simply explore the labyrinth and then return. Oh, I forgot to mention that Thane is away training with another group, so he won't join us for the mission. There's nothing special about the three days we were given. We have free reign to do what we like. That said, other than training and resting, I would advise you do some shopping with the money from our first mission. There is a place in the market, called the Velvet Room, that I can take you to which offers exclusive magical items and weapons. Alex already knows about it and can attest to its usefulness." Mael turned over to Niyol, "That offer goes for you too. I'm sure you both would find something that suits your fighting styles there."

"Never heard of it. Exclusive?" She asked raising an eyebrow. "Like what kind of things are we talking?"

"Well they sell magic artifacts that have a wide variety of uses, like empowering your existing magic or allowing you to use new ones." She pulled out her dagger to showcase it. "Personally, I picked up this, which allows me to channel my power through it to provide powerful weapon strikes."

Niyol quirk an eyebrow at Mael and Alex before taking his sword into his hands. He gave the blade a long look before standing up from the wall with a nod. Yes, he would like to see if there this 'Velvet Room'.

"No trap that I know of, besides the tall prices. Nothing has happened to me over the last few days that point to it being the fault of the weapon but I'll be sure to let you know if that changes."

Hmm, maybe I should have mentioned that I can open a door to the Velvet Room from anywhere as long as I turn the key, but I feel like it would be rude to do this in the guild house. Who knows who might walk through that door and end up elsewhere. Mael looked at the others. "Well if there aren't any more questions, I think we're done here. Alex, did you want to go and see Sans now?"

Alex stood up and stretched a little, and said, "Sure, I could do that now. You're still coming along I assume?"

With that the two pair were able to leave the Nurses office and as per usual, sans was eating a burger in the cafeteria.

Alex saw Sans eating his burger, and approached the table. As she got closer to the table, she said, "Hey Sans, I have a couple of questions about the upcoming mission, specifically about Mael's brother and the current level of danger he is in." She sat down in front of him.

Sans nodded, chewing his burger as if waiting for the actual questions.

"Well you said Mael's brother is trapped in a labyrinth. And has been long enough for many to assume him dead. Yet all of a sudden you say he is alive but in danger, which brings up a whole myriad of questions, first and foremost being, how do you know this? The second question is since you know this why haven't you been able to do anything about it, and third, if he is really in danger, why are you waiting? Why not just send a competent team now instead of training us, not that we don't need the training anyways."

Sans looked at her with a confused look, and swallowed, "What gave you that impression? I never said any of that."
"I know Avalar is alive because I have reliable sources, but I never said he was in danger, we can assume he is due to the fact he hasn't come back." Sans pointed out, "That said, why am I sending you guys? Because It's something Mael wants to do. I can't really send out other groups of people to save his brother when the simple fact of the matter is we don't know anything except where he was last seen. I can't deploy a more competent knight team if we have no info. As things stand the last place he was seen is just an unconquered labyrinth, and it's not top priority to gather treasures from it."
