Helen pulls out the ball containing the Holon Spinda, and aproaches the transfer terminal. "What makes you you think that Pokemon's strength it is the result of training rather than the result of biological or mineralogical experiments?" Helen asks out of curiosity, before getting back to business.
"Tempest is leaving now. I'm sure they have already taken anything useful, but we could still poke around in there if you want. We'd have to wait for the center to clear up its backlog of patients so we can heal out Pokemon first. Would you like us to get the Holon Pokemon we are sending you healed up first? Or do you want them now?"

"I know because I've seen the results of those experiments," Laurel says quietly before becoming all business. "If you want to send the Pokemon, just put it in the slot and push the big red button. The machine can only send Pokemon to people you're talking to on the console. As for the healing, I can do that here, in the Holon Tower."

Helen nods at the professor's words, perhaps missing some of the meaning in her tone, before getting down to busniess herself. "One Holon Spinda coming your way then!" She says happily as she sends over the Pokemon.
Once the transfer is complete, Helen considers the implications of Laurel's healing capabilities. "Could we send our other Pokemon as well so you can heal them and get them back to us? That way we can get into the ruins quickly!"

Jamie had been waiting his turn to talk to the Professor, but since it didn't look like he was going to be able to do so any time soon unless he joined Helen, Jamie did exactly that. He walked over and stood right next to Helen in front of the screen. "Sorry to butt in, I just wanted to say hi, Professor Laurel. How have you been doing? I also have a Holon Spinda to send over to you." He put Coil's Pokeball into the slot and pushed the button. "Please take good care of him."

At Helen's mention of the healing, Laurel blushes a bit. "Well, a Voltorb somehow got into the tower a day or two ago and.... exploded. Quite humiliating. The experimental healing machines that I have won't work until I can repair them; that being said, I do have a couple of older, more standard models, but they won't have the quick healing I know you guys want." She looks thoughtful. "Still, you could take the time to rest and stock up; I'm not sure what tricks and traps these ruins have, but if Team Tempest went in with the kind of firepower the video indicated, it's got to be dangerous." That's when the Spinda that Helen sent over arrives, and the ball promptly pops open. The Spinda immediately leaps off of the table and attempts to run out the door behind Laurel; however, the door is shut, and after comically running into the door, it tries in vain to open it. Laurel stares a moment at the scene and sighs. "Call me back in a few minutes," she says wearily. Then the Spinda that Jamie sent arrives. Before the connection is cut, you see Laurel dive atop the Pokeball to try to keep it shut.

Helen bursts out laughing. Laurel always had a way of lifting the young trainer's spirit, weather she meant to or not. "Oh. It will take her a bit to get that sorted out alright. We might as well prepare. The thought of traps is a bit worrisome..."
Helen frowns for a moment, and then a wide grin spreads across her face as a lightbulb goes off in her head. "I got it! Lopunny are known to be rather perceptive... We can have Thumper lead us. I should even be able to give him a lesson and hone his senses further!"
She turns to Jamie. "Why don't you tag along and help with the lesson? I've seen you teaching moves to Pokemon before, and I bet the legs on Thumper's new form are capable of using Bounce with the proper training."

Shako chuckles at the sight of the Professor struggling with the Spinda on the other end. Maybe I should wait to send mine over too. He puts the ball back in his bag, as the call gets cut off. I may actually keep spinda with me for a while. Who to send for study though??
He then turns to the others, You 2 go ahead, I'm going to wait here to call the professor back in a minute. Sitting down next to the machine, for a couple minutes before calling back.
She should be all settled now.

After waiting about 5 minutes, Shako stands up and calls the professor back. I hope shes not too busy to talk again.

When the screen flicks on, Laurel is looking more frazzled than usual. Both Pokeballs are on the desk in front of her, duct-taped shut and rocking slightly every few seconds. When she realizes Shako has called, she looks at the camera with a smile. "Oh hey, Shako! What's new?"

Jamie raises both eyebrows and then, as Helen bursts out laughing, he laughs a little himself. Then Helen makes an idea of hers known. "That sounds like a good idea and I'd be happy to teach Thumper Bounce, but I think we should wait a day before heading into the ruins. Cascade got hurt pretty badly fighting against that Tempest grunt. I'd like her to be able to get some rest and heal a little. Also if we wait until tomorrow, there might be some new Trainers we can fight for money too, which we can then use to stock up. What do you think?"

Shako notices that the Professor had answered, and looks very frazzled from the spinda that were sent. Oh hey Professor! I was wondering if I could send one of my pokemon over for study. Its a Holon pokemon as well. It shouldn't be as much as a hassle than the 2 spinda that were sent before. He reaches into his pack, grabs the pokeball and places it in the transporter. Pressing the button. It shouldn't be as wild as the spinda, but is quite a bit bigger. Its a lickitung.
Shako waits for the pokemon to appear on the other end before moving on in the conversation.
Professor, on the night we caught these pokemon I'm pretty sure the team tempest guy Darius was watching us. More than that, I actually think he taught 2 of the pokemon moves just to combat our strengths. Why would someone do that?

Helen shrugs. "Fine with me. I could use the extra day to find some extra shards to craft with. Might have to drag you along for the hunt though..."
The young trainer shudders. "After today I'm not sure how comfortable wandering about on my own."
---
Helen heads outside and produces a strip of cloth from her grooming kit before sending Thumper out. "Alright buddy! Lets put your new form through its paces. Lopunny are known for their hearing and their leg strength, so I'm going make sure you develop both. Jamie is going to lead you through some drills to teach you how to bounce around and inflict flying type damage, and while he is teaching you, I want you to navigate with only your ears!"
Beckoning her Pokemon over, she wraps the strip of cloth around its eyes like a blindfold. "Alright. Now get out there and show Jamie what you are made of!"

Before she answers Shako's question, Laurel brings up the video and watches it again, this time all the way through. She visibly pales when Darius mentions his title of Specialist, and when she answers, her voice sounds like her throat is dry. "Well, if this man really is the Specialist of legend, he has a great mistrust of foreigners. I think it stems from a very long time ago- like, before even I was born, so about thirty or forty years. When Darius first became the Specialist, Holon was under attack by a very subtle and dangerous foe- an organization called the Mind Trust. "The Mind Trust is a group of psychics based out of Kalos- or so the Dragon Lords believe. They think that, due to their psychic powers, they have the duty and privilege to rule the world. They were masters of disguise and could, lie, cheat, steal, and harm others all with a thought. They were so dangerous that the Holon League and Team Tempest worked together in the first and only alliance between the two organizations; even then, the Mind Trust's poison had gone deep into the countryside, so much so that it took this shaky alliance over a year to best them." Laurel pinches the bridge of her nose and closes her eyes, sighing. "That struggle likely scarred Darius deeply, ingraining a deep-rooted sense of paranoia inside him, especially since the Mind Trust as a group was never actually destroyed- only their Holon operations were stopped. Darius must've lived those decades in terror, never knowing if the next person he saw would be one of the Mind Trust's operatives, or someone enslaved by their telepaths. That he hasn't had a mental breakdown yet is nothing short of a miracle."

Jamie had Thumper running through a streamlined training regiment in order to teach the Pokemon how to use Bounce. In order to use the move, the Pokemon had to have great leg strength and jumping capabilities, but it also had to be able to channel energy to its legs. Jamie started by having the Lopunny climb trees by jumping up branches. This was especially difficult as Thumper had to listen for the rustling of the leaves in order to ascertain where the next branch was. It took the Pokemon a bit to get it right each time, but once he did, Jamie found there was little to improve upon, other than doing some basic leg strength exercises. The next step was attuning the Lopunny to Flying-type energy. It actually wasn't too hard, as Pokemon are fast learners and Thumper could send energy to his legs almost instinctively. It helped that Flying-type moves generally required physical movements or usage of limbs much like Normal-type moves, so Thumper already had a good base to start from. From then on using Bounce was a piece of cake. After only an hour of training, the move was mastered. "That was fun," Jamie said, "Just tell me if you'd like me to teach Thumper or any of your other Pokemon a move they can easily learn, I'd be happy to help."Jamie teaches Thumper Bounce in return for 2 Tutor Points.

Helen watches Jamie and Thumper work with a wide smile on her face. Watching Pokemon get put through their paces was one of her favorite parts of working with her dad at Silph Co, and she was glad she hadn't had to give it up. Seeing the grace and power of the Lopunny, and knowing that it would be hers to command, warmed the young trainer's heart.
"Heh. Yeah. Thumper did good. I doubt it will need any more move lessons though." She answers as she removes the blindfold from her Pokemon and scratches it on the head. "He should learn powerful normal and fighting moves on his own."
She pauses in thought. "Its a shame though that Pokemon can only know so many moves at a time. I bet Thumper would have no problem learning all sorts of cool sneaky moves like mirror coat or magic coat. Perhaps I'll take up Pokemon Breeding and get Thumper a girlfriend so I can raise a second Lopunny focused more on utility than pure offense."
Helen glances at her Pokemon and smirks. "You'd like that, wouldn't you?"
Scratching Thumper's head, she turns back to Jamie. "I suppose between me keeping our Pokemon well equipped and you keeping them well mentored, we could make a pretty formidable team. Speaking of, want to tag along and help Thumper make sure nothing sneaks up on me while I wander out of camp to hunt for shards real quick? Not that he needs the assistance of course..."

Shako sees the look of almost terror when she talks about the Specialist. If the professor is scared of him, he must be as terrible as everyone says. Not like that wasn't already evident from what happened with their encounter with him. Okay Professor, we will try to steer clear of tempest so we don't run into him again. He must be way out of our league, and I don't want Jamie or Helen to get hurt. Shako then realizes that his ball had transferred, but didn't see it yet on the professors end. Hey Professor, did you get my pokemon yet? I want to make sure you did, before I go train with the others.

"As a matter of fact. I just did," Laurel says as the Pokeball appears. "A Lickitung, you say?" She releases the Lickitung in the lab. It stares at Laurel a moment before giving her a big lick. Laurel's hair instantly stands on end from the static discharge. "Oh my!" Laurel says. "Quite shocking." She looks back at the camera. "Give me a few minutes, and I'll have your rewards ready. In the meantime, go train with Jamie and Helen."

Shake chuckles, seeing the Professor's hair become charged. Hehe, okay professor! We will call you when we are done.
He hangs up the call, and heads outside to where Helen and Jamie were going to train. Hey guys, hows the training going?

Shako looks at them, That's good, would I be able to get some training in before we call the Professor back? Shako reaches and grabs his 4 pokeballs. I just want to train them a bit. He releases his pokemon, Okay everyone, we are going to learn how to dodge today. Shako gets his 4 remaining pokemon to dodge, and weave. Using inspired training. +1 to Evasion, +2 to saves
