Videra region was once a peaceful place full of life and happy people and Pokemon, but in the recent years a war has been happening hidden in the shadows. The Rain Dance Team has been controlling everything. Rain allows no one in or out of Videra and pokemon ownership has been carefully monitored to make sure no one tries for an uprising. The Pokemon League has been shutdown to ensure control. The only thing standing in their way is the elite four and their few friends who are fighting Rain Dance every step of the way. No one else stands up due to threats of harm to self and family.
This is a mid/later campaign. I am looking for four players. Trainers will be level 25 with five level 45 pokemon. Classes are any other than warper, Branded, Usurper, or any from DPDoM (technology is low tech). Ages would be 20+. If you take a class from BaD please give a detailed background about it. You will be permitted one simple weapon which was given to the cause by those that wanted to help in a small way. All play test packets are in effect. Pokemon can be any non legendary. You are one of the friends of one of the elite four. Elite Four Rose, the grass/poison elite four, who grew up in Medera on the south coast. Her long red hair and blue eyes are captivating combo that she uses to get information about Rain. Friendly unless you do something horrible to others then it’s best just to run. Rose’s mother is being held captive by Rain Dance and she will do anything in order to stop them and get her mother back. Rain offered her a deal once but Rose said no knowing that her mother would just hate her for taking it.
Daniel, the dragon elite four, who grew up in Sadahra in the north-east part of Videra. Daniel has a bit of anger issues but anyone would when your whole family was killed in front of you by the people you hate. His only real way of calming down is Emily his Dragonair. He tries to hide all of his feeling behind the anger but sometimes you catch him crying with his team surrounding him.
Angel, the ice elite four, grew up in Ani, in the south near Medera on the edge of the Anis lake known for it’s healing properties. Angel grew up in a foster home with no true father figure in his life. Angel grew up learning to fight for what he believes in and knows the struggles of living in a poor part of town. With Rain Dance in control, fundings for different programs including the foster homes. He visits a few of the foster homes when ever he can but with Rain Dance in control, he has been unable to without trouble following him back.
Isabella, psychic elite four, from Nir in Western Videra. Few people have been very close with Isabella a.k.a. Izzy. Because of her powers, Isabella has been an outcast much of her life but over the years more people with abilities have come out and society has begun to be more accepting. Izzy scared her parents and they tried to put her in a mental institution. They failed because she did not appear to have any mental illnesses according to the psychiatrists. Her dad grew angry and started hitting her after two years. He left scars on her in multiple places. Isabella fights Rain Dance for everyone’s rights and freedom.

I would like to post some interest in this.
How much money do we have to work with? And are there any restrictions on the Pokemon we are allowed to use apart from legendary Pokemon?
Thinking of making a friend of Daniel who is part Elementalist and Hunter. Not sure what else to use at this point though.

What's the tone of this game? I'm guessing pretty dark if someone had their parents killed in front of them and someone else was abused as a kid. Also, if we take a Dowsing Rod, Tag Scribe, or the like, how many days of premade supplies can we have? Oh yeah and some more info on Rain Dance, what's their goal, how did they seize control of everything, if they monitor all Pokemon ownership will almost all combat in the game be against Rain Dance, and why do people join this team in the first place?

It's play by post, right?
Is there any contact with you(dm)? Discord? Skype?

Interested, just need to know funding.
I'm thinking an old Knight that looked after Daniel and has been following him.

Hmm, I've never played PTU at such high levels but it's an interesting challenge, and the setting is intruiging. I've got a soft spot for freedom-fighting underdogs.
I dunno yet if I'm going to apply for sure, but I've got a fledgling idea for a conspiracy nut who's been living off the grid for years and was finally validated when Rain started taking control. Thus he's crazy-prepared for fighting them and countering their influence, in a good position to coordinate resistance... but his natural reclusive tendencies have made it difficult to get involved with other insurgents. Now he's finally ready to admit to himself that he can't accomplish enough on his own to make a difference.
Mechanically speaking, so far I'm thinking Backpacker and Chemist, and maybe Hunter; not sure what else yet, or if I'd want to use any supernatural classes. When you say low-tech, would a "Poke-modern" class like Gadgeteer be allowed, i.e. the level of tech seen in the anime?
EDIT: Now that I've had a few hours to muse, I'm also thinking Chronicler would be a great fit, and it's up in the air between Survivalist and Hunter for his fourth class. I'll probably avoid anything supernatural, as I imagine this guy wouldn't trust that kind of stuff. We don't have to worry about the specifics unless you actually pick my character for the game, but with Chronicler, would I be able to start with anything in his Archives already given the advanced starting level? For example - a couple key confirmed or suspected Rain collaborators/leaders for the Profile Archive, all his Pokemon's current Moves in the Technique Archive, and major cities/landmarks like League HQ in the Travel Archive?
Additional question - may our Pokemon have any Egg moves?

The starting money is 15,000. Non limits on pokemon other than no legendaries. Egg moves according to the playtest packet. Rain Dance has taken control in order to return the region to the way it was back before the Pokemon League began. They feel that the league has taken away from the culture and ways of life. Yes this is a bit of a darker campaign. I will allow a week of supplies for anything down by dowsing or such. It is Play by post.

Ya know, I was considering not being interested in this game, but mayhaps I might just have something or another that suits it. I just have a few questions: 1: What is the cost of a "Fine" Weapon (the one with two moves available)? Standard book price is 4-5000 I believe. 2: How much freedom are our Trainers given with regards to rooting out this "Team Rain Dance"? Can we go completely nuts and possibly murder them for kicks, or is this a strictly "no-kill" operation (barring accidental/unavoidable deaths)? 3: How 'friendly' are we with the E4? Your title post states "you are a friend of a member of the E4". 4: Since this is a mid-late level campaign, do we have access to Mega Evolution? 5: You say Egg moves are cool by the standard Playtest rules, what about Move Tutors/TMs? I would assume TMs are alright as long as you can afford them, but I'm asking anyway to be safe. 6: Going back to Question #2, how dark is "dark" in your mind? E4 Daniel saw his family murdered before his eyes, but was this an isolated incident, or do you feel this should be something we use to determine the overall tone of the campaign? 7: Shiny Pokemon. Could we have one? I'm not looking for power boosts, just different coloration. 8: If one were so inclined, are fakemon allowable? I ask this a lot, and the answer is usually "no", but it can't hurt to check anyway. 9: Do we have any further information on Rain Dance's motives? What do they mean by "The Elite Four/Pokemon League took away from the culture/ways of life in the Region"? Sorry for the barrage of questions, but I promise they'll be worth it to answer.

Did you have a verdict on Gadgeteer?

1. 2000 and say it is an upgraded simple weapon. 2. They would prefer no killing but if it comes do to them or you then it is fine. 3. That is up to you but friendly enough that they would call on you. They could be your best friend or someone you were close with as kids but grew apart from in the later years. 4. As long as you can afford them. 5. Yes you will have access to them but not right at the start. 6. Killing is a very extreme thing even on their side of the board. Daniel's family was standing against them and very boisterous with their objections. While Rose's mother is a quite person and is only being held as a try to bargin chip with Rose. 7. One or two is fine. 8. I would prefer to avoid the fakemon. 9. They feel that the pokemon league has drove prices up making it harder for people to obtain supplies that have lower paying jobs. The league has complicated the lives of many. (I had a better explanation but my power went out and I am tired will finish with more information tomorrow)

I'll throw together an app of some kind in the near future. Just gotta shake one out of my head or something. Oh! One last thing: Is there a deadline on apps, or are you planning to just wait for the current applicants to finish up/new apps to peter out? Edit: Thought of another question: Can Pokemon have Skill Backgrounds if someone wanted them to?

One positive skill back ground to one negative for two pokemon. I will accept applications until things slow down.

So I have a thing, but you don't have a lot of details on the Videra Region. Does this mean we can just make stuff up (within reason)?
Edit: I'd also like to point out that Mega Rings/Stones can't be "afforded", as they are generally earned through a trial of some sort. (Based on Book Description of Mega Ring)
Does this mean we can or cannot have one available?

Okay, so here is my app: "Ghost Girl". The basic premise is that she's not really "known" by the E4 personally, but she just shows up one day wanting to help. Well, that's what they assumed. Why else would she turn up out of the blue?

Alright, finally got around to finishing Aesthidreth 'Erika' Peinkaton. She's chummy with two of the Elite 4, sucks at baking and tailoring, and getting rid of her weapon will only serve to ruin your day. Now with starter-turned-ninja-companion, Greninja with Camouflage and Protean, radical.
