Well, because I don't want to spoil my chances by stepping on the toes of too many NPCs, I submit to you as well, Crystal Hatley, Knight of the Order of the Argent Shield. Or you could call her a Paladin. Whichever works. 1) What role are you applying for? (Guard/Support/Researcher -- can list more than one if you think you fit multiple.)
Guard. Although I suppose that I could be considered Support too.
2) This job would have you traversing the wilds and taking down targets in a variety of biomes in order to further our research and settlement, spending notable periods of time in demanding and dangerous environments. What use will your skills and abilities be to a compact team of expedition members?
I have the strength to smite my foes, the steel to protect my allies. I have the knowledge to tend to injuries, and the will to never yield. But, most of all I have the faith to never falter, and I will make sure that, no matter what test will be put before us, we will pass it.
3) What following aspect of the Qedem Expeditions interests you the most, and why?: - Seeking the mystery senders of the Pale Baltoy’s note - Learning about evolution and elemental “types” of pokemon - Exploring long-untouched, ancient lands of many biomes - Prospecting a new settlement and establishing trade - Fighting pokemon far stronger than anything on the mainlands
In general… most of those interest me. But, to choose one? It would probably have to be exploring the wonders that haven’t been seen by mortal eyes in living memory. Or perhaps ever.
4) After making an important discovery, your team falls into a bog en route back to camp. Your team’s researcher and one guard are injured. Your third party member is in a safe location, but unconscious. The researcher, who has learned and recorded data vitally important to the main missions of the Guild, has a 30% chance of being able to pull himself out on his own before the ground swallows him up. The guard is certain to meet her death should you not help her. You only have the means to help one. Who do you help (and if you're feeling bold, why)?
I help the researcher. No questions asked, and I would expect the other guard to leave me behind in the exact same situation. The success of a quest is greater than any individual member, and so long as a warrior has done great deeds, they will live on in memory. Not only is the researcher more important to the success of the mission, but every knight knows that they may need to lay down their life for that of those who do not fight. We risk our lives, so that others don’t have to.
5) Why do you want to become an expedition member?
To explore this brand new world, and to discover precisely what awaits us. I believe that the World Spirit revealed this to us now, and sent the message for a reason. And I am determined to find out what that reason is.

Sure, I'll throw my character sheet in the ring! Oscar Engwall, apprentice blacksmith and former delinquent. I have a couple things to fill out, but he's mostly done! Question, though, are the weapons listed in the homebrew section the only ones we'll be using? Or are you working on adding the other weapons, like hammers and lances and stuff? Questionnaire:1) What role are you applying for? (Guard/Support/Researcher -- can list more than one if you think you fit multiple.)Guard, for sure. I'd love to keep watch over a bunch of bookworms your esteemed researchers. Their work's very important, after all. 2) This job would have you traversing the wilds and taking down targets in a variety of biomes in order to further our research and settlement, spending notable periods of time in demanding and dangerous environments. What use will your skills and abilities be to a compact team of expedition members?Besides keeping everyone's hides intact? I'd be really good at that! Of course, I'm one of the best blacksmiths in all of Warrenshore. Spending that long out in the rough is gonna wear out and rust everyone's gear all to Hell. But with me around? You don't have to worry about a thing. Oscar will keep your weapons, armor, and all sorts of stuff in working order. 3) What following aspect of the Qedem Expeditions interests you the most, and why?: - Seeking the mystery senders of the Pale Baltoy’s note
- Learning about evolution and elemental “types” of pokemon - Exploring long-untouched, ancient lands of many biomes
- Prospecting a new settlement and establishing trade
- Fighting pokemon far stronger than anything on the mainlands
Untouched land means land that's rich with metals and those magic stones I heard so much about. A great smith like myself just can't wait to try out all sorts of new designs to fill the armory with! There's some hastily scribbled out lines immediately under the question. It's really hard to read, but you think it might be something rather unsavory about guilds
Of course I have to save the poor researcher, his information is vitally important, after all! What would happen if this fine gentleman didn't make it back? Why, you would have to send even more honest-working men and women to their deaths to go after this very important information, right? That would be a terrible waste! 5) Why do you want to become an expedition member?
If I have to be honest here, times are tough back home, and its getting worse. Coinage is getting harder to come by every day. I have to send some of this land's bounty back there to help out. Family reasons, you understand.

Well, it's finally ready. May I present you Sahraa Labdel, Keeper of Sahirii Culture, who's ready to explore the fabled Island. Applying for Researcher/Support, basically. The questionnaire is on the document attached to the sheet (alongside lots of information) xD Quick question, though:
For my free Skill Stunt, I selected Type Chart, for weaknesses and resistances. I hope that's ok.
I didn't know which skill that would be, though. On the Edge tab, I classified it as Occult Education (since types are a myth in the setting), but I can change it to Pokémon Education if you say so.
If "Type Chart" is a bad pick, I'll change the Skill Stunt to "Shards and Stones" into the Occult Education =)

SuperVaderMan - The ones that are listed will be the starting weapons at the very least; I'm thinking of adding Hammer and Gauntlet later on, though I can consider Lance and Dual Blades as well! Elyander - Looks neat! I love the backstory. And Occult is fine for knowing about the types/elements; I'm sure that knowledge will help her figure out what stones and shards are used for what types. Breakthelevee - Awesome, I'll add him to the list.

No questionnaire for my character? I posted it just under the link to my sheet.
I copy/pasted it into my Background sheet, if that makes it easier to find.
And I suppose I'll go Great Sword, for now.

Well, she'd not finished yet but I present Robin Carter. The only things I have left as far as I can tell is all of the fluff and I'm about to get started right now.

So I saw this thread, read it in passing, and was absolutely captivated. I love a good colonial story. So, instead of sleeping...I made a character. Makya Ahote the PathfinderThe questionnaire is included in its own page on the spreadsheet. I'll probably clean up typos and wording after I get a little sleep. Constructive criticism is always appreciated!

shadowblaze94 - Thanks, I'll add it to the list! EDIT: I'm having problems clicking the link for what I assume is your questionnaire-- can you put the link in the empty box for Appearance (you have a picture so I suppose it's not 100% necessary ). Thanks! JPThunda - Long time no see! App looks great, I'm also running on almost no sleep at the moment though so I'll look through to provide better constructive crit when I'm more awake. The only thing I noticed was that his name meaning includes 'Eagle'? I'm not sure if something concerning Braviary or the like may fit more. In the end, it's a small detail, it just caught me up considering the pokemon setting. And to all applicants, I'm having a bit of a hard time keeping track of who is in the Skype group and who isn't, but if you haven't yet joined please make sure to do before Friday night. The more confident I can be that we'll have good communication, the better!

Yeah, it's been a while. That's legit about the eagle bit, I agree it is out of place. I can easily change the meaning to Braviary or Keen-eyed though. One of those 6 am oversights. XD

Okay Mia's background has now been approximately tamed. I may add a list of people she knows from the mainland for use as mobile plot hooks but otherwise she's complete.

Here is Mei Eckspi for submission. As for her Questionnaire I'll just do it here. 1) What role are you applying for?
I would like to be a researcher on one of your teams. Not only am I interested in the potential to find and log several new breeds of Pokemon, I also bring to the table a set of skills that will help us in the various weather conditions we are sure to encounter.
2) This job would have you traversing the wilds and taking down targets in a variety of biomes in order to further our research and settlement, spending notable periods of time in demanding and dangerous environments. What use will your skills and abilities be to a compact team of expedition members?
I have spent a large amount of time with nature in various forms. As previously mentioned, I am accustomed to a variety of weather conditions. Additionally, I would be able to help my team in these weather conditions as well.
I can't narrow it down to one aspect specficially. While obviously the Pale Baltoy is a mystery worth unraveling all its own, I am driven to know all I can about the variety of Pokemon I will have the opportunity to interact with. And getting to see tombs of any kind that no one has laid eyes on in who knows how many years? Its all very exciting to me.
I feel this question is nearly impossible to answer. As I am applying for the role of a researcher, I would want to be the one to be saved, obviously. But ideally I would be able to help prevent being in any of these precarious situations to begin with. Without being in the exact scenario, I honestly can't say what I would do.
5) Why do you want to become an expedition member?
For entirely selfish reasons. Home is boring, and my family is driving me to try and follow in their stead. This really is my only chance to be able to go and live my own life, while also doing something they would not look down on me for.

Alright! So, after some sleep and proofreading and rewriting, I cleaned up my app. The link is the same, but I'll post it again for convenience. Makya Ahote the PathfinderAlso, I rewrote the Questionnaire in a narrative format, starting from Makya's arrival in Maraus City. It's a little lengthy, and I might've gotten carried away, so I left the short answers on his character sheet. Read it if you like, or don't, but I had fun writing it. Makya in Maraus, and the Interview at Goldmoon HallAs always, constructive criticism is appreciated. Hope you enjoy my word salad.

Looks good guys! David Hilm - She's been added to the list, but I noticed you haven't taken the free Skill Stunt or Weapon Proficiency yet (or listed a weapon at all ). JPThunda - Your word salad was a fun read!
