twilightkiwi - In this campaign Tech Ed is more akin to... Craft Ed or Build Ed, at times. So you'd have knowledge concerning the building of weapons, armor, and any structures both in Camp and ones you come across on the island. I don't have a whole long list of its uses beyond that, but high Tech rolls could get you more options to choose from concerning the bonuses on armor/weapons, and might very well help you identify traps and other mechanisms around the map. Perfect, that's exactly what I had in mind!

And here he is, Giro, the Oversized Ninja!1) What role are you applying for?
The word "Guard" is written boldly. Next to it, scratched out, is a word that if one looks closely can be identified as the word "researcher".
2) This job would have you traversing the wilds and taking down targets in a variety of biomes in order to further our research and settlement, spending notable periods of time in demanding and dangerous environments. What use will your skills and abilities be to a compact team of expedition members?
Extensive time spent alone in hostile environments performing missions for the interests of Seyagakure. Specialist in Scounting and Assassination Elimination. Carries big sword.
3) What following aspect of the Qedem Expeditions interests you the most, and why?: - Seeking the mystery senders of the Pale Baltoy’s note - Learning about evolution and elemental “types” of pokemon - Exploring long-untouched, ancient lands of many biomes - Prospecting a new settlement and establishing trade - Fighting pokemon far stronger than anything the mainlands
The space underneath is nearly filled with written and crossed out lines, all with clearly different answers. Finally, the last one, 'fighting pokemon far stronger than anything on the mainlands' is left, though it almost seems...halfhearted.
4) After making an important discovery, your team falls into a bog en route back to camp. Your team’s researcher and one guard are injured. Your third party member is in a safe location, but unconscious. The researcher, who has learned and recorded data vitally important to the main missions of the Guild, has a 30% chance of being able to pull himself out on his own before the ground swallows him up. The guard is certain to meet her death should you not help her. You only have the means to help one. Who do you help (and if you're feeling bold, why)?
This answer is very clear; the Researcher. The other two, being guards, have surely accepted the fact that they may die on the mission for the greater good. The researcher has not. For both honor and the mission, the researcher receives priority assistance.
5) Why do you want to become an expedition member?
Only one word is written here, without any editing, causing it to stand out from the rest of the form.
"Knowledge."

Think I'll throw my hat into the ring with Gren Garvin (reworked from a previous application, hope that's okay). 1) What role are you applying for? (Guard/Support/Researcher -- can list more than one if you think you fit multiple.)
Guard. Unless that means the kind of "stand around doing nothing and don't take the fight to whatever hostiles you encounter" kind of guard. Because I may not do that.
2) This job would have you traversing the wilds and taking down targets in a variety of biomes in order to further our research and settlement, spending notable periods of time in demanding and dangerous environments. What use will your skills and abilities be to a compact team of expedition members?
I can ride anything anywhere and fight anything anyhow. Can't see how that wouldn't be useful.
3) What following aspect of the Qedem Expeditions interests you the most, and why?:
- Seeking the mystery senders of the Pale Baltoy’s note - Learning about evolution and elemental “types” of pokemon - Exploring long-untouched, ancient lands of many biomes - Prospecting a new settlement and establishing trade - Fighting pokemon far stronger than anything the mainlands
Last one. Definitely the last one.
Well, the way I figure it, these people wouldn't be on this trip if they weren't good at their jobs and survival and stuff, so I'd have faith that the researcher would be able to get himself out of that, so I'd help the guard. Besides, that one sounds like the better fight the more immediate threat.
5) Why do you want to become an expedition member?
Because, if I'm honest, it's the only way I can find to give my skills some use and show off to any knig

Haha, there's still well over a week for applications, no rush. And reworks from previous characters are fine by me! I'll add you to the list. Edit: madandy For this campaign we're only using the Hunter weapons I detailed on the forum board. Glaive is closest to Halberd and functions in a very similar way but with added benefits, should I put you down for that?

Sorry, couldn't get onto the Qedem boards before, so didn't see the weapon list.
Yes, a Kinsect Glaive would be absolutely perfect for Gren.

So I have an idea for a character who's an inspiring smith/artisan/maybe merchant. And have a couple of questions, some relating to the homebrew weapons. - Are there any general/public knowledge about these weapons? If so, what are they?
- How long ago were these weapons first documented?
- For each of the weapons, who is the inventor/designer/creator? Is the original person credited or unaccredited?
- Because these weapons are superior, and to confirm it, will they be able to have weapons moves outside of what is already listed under Homebrew Mechanics? If not at the beginning, what about later on?
- Will Alchemy be in available? If yes, would it be available in the beginning via NPC?
- I'm planning on starting out with the Researcher (Artificer & Chemistry). Will I start with a Dowsing Rod and Chemistry Set? or must I obtain those later on?
- If I'm allow to start with a Dowsing Rod, can my character start off with a couple of shards?
- Is yes, how do you want to handle it?

Boolprop - Hello! Here are your answers: 1. Yes-- these are the primary weapons that are used worldwide. The regular weapons from the Core book (with the exception of the Light Shield) don't exist as typical warfare or fighting weapons, as weird as that may sound. There may be other types of weapons in the world that are pulled from Monster Hunter (dual blades, hammers, gauntlets, etc.) but these seven types are the Guild-sanctioned ones. The difference is, on Qedem they can be made with parts that give them elemental properties, making them more powerful than normal. 2. Elemental ones are just being created/discovered recently (last few months). The weapon and fighting styles themselves are staple to the world, I don't have an exact timeline, but say hundreds/thousands of years. 3. ....uh. D: Feel free to make this up as it pleases you. XD If it helps I'd say the Kinsect Glaive and Hunting Horn are the most recent. That is to say, maybe invented within the past 50 years or so. 4. Yep, they'll make use of the Adept/Master weapon moves from Core. And once they're elemental, they'll have elemental attacks as well. ----------------------------- A. It'll be available, but not at start. An NPC will be around for it, yes. B. You can start with both of those. A dowsing rod would be very new to you though, as Shards and evolution stones only exist on Qedem. C./D. Because of the reason directly above, I'd have to say no. But you will be able to roll for them on each expedition!

Beatrice Rozen i guess i will put an app in fluff in the works 1) What role are you applying for? (Guard/Support/Researcher -- can list more than one if you think you fit multiple.)
Guard/support
2) This job would have you traversing the wilds and taking down targets in a variety of biomes in order to further our research and settlement, spending notable periods of time in demanding and dangerous environments. What use will your skills and abilities be to a compact team of expedition members?
My oldjob had me Out in the wilderness alot so i am very adpet to surviving out in the wilds. I can also carry a tune i heard that helps the morale
3) What following aspect of the Qedem Expeditions interests you the most, and why?: - Seeking the mystery senders of the Pale Baltoy’s note
- Learning about evolution and elemental “types” of pokemon
+ Exploring long-untouched, ancient lands of many biomes
- Prospecting a new settlement and establishing trade
- Fighting pokemon far stronger than anything on the mainlands
4) After making an important discovery, your team falls into a bog en route back to camp. Your team’s researcher and one guard are injured. Your third party member is in a safe location, but unconscious. The researcher, who has learned and recorded data vitally important to the main missions of the Guild, has a 30% chance of being able to pull himself out on his own before the ground swallows him up. (area has been left blank)
5) Why do you want to become an expedition member?
My old gig bit the dust hard and no once is looking for my skills on the mainland any more this sounds like it could be a living

I still need to get appearance and personality ironed out, but this should be good for now. Presenting Bayard Almond, a Hunter for the fun of it, and to find his brother (if that part of the fluff is allowable).

Raven Winterchild A lovely woman with anger issues. 1) Guard, definitely a Guard.
2) Welllll, I would have to say that my defining qualities are that I never back down. I am also really good in a fight as I have been training for a LOOOONG time. It also helps that I did take a little bit of Survival training.
3) OOOOoooo, I really want to fight giant cute scary monsters. Nothing gets the blood boiling like a good fight, and I'm always looking for an interesting one. All the people around here have started to avoid me cause I've beat them up a little too much. It's totally there fault for thinking I'm short, I am the perfect height.
4) I would save the Researcher of course. They know things I don't know, and the other dude was just getting in the way of all my fun. Talking about avoiding fights, and to not take unnecessary risks. I wanted to do things the !FUN! way, and he didn't. Well he fell into that swamp and I didn't.... oopsie... Plus I saved the important person, the guild needs to know what happened, and there are always more guards. Hopefully, the new guy wont be as boring as the last guy. And besides, we guards know that this might happen to us, although I'd rather die fighting some giant creature than from being unable to get out of a swamp.
5) Because I'm looking for a bit of fun, as there isn't anything to really protect people from. I know I'm good at what I do, and I'd like to help other people out when I can.
Neel Locust 1) Researcher, the other two seem to be a little bit too much work.
2) Hmmm, what I bring to the table is a bit of general knowledge on berries and the healing arts. I am also a halfway decent guide through any prairies, shrub lands, or forests we might run into as I spent a lot of time traversing them. I can usually tell if something is edible, and I have a good eye for building things, and finding decent building materials when I've been sent to do so in the past.
3) I would have to say that the ones that interest me the most are Exploring the long-untouched, ancient lands of many biomes, and Prospecting a new Settlement and establishing trade. The reasons for this is as much as I love civilization, the wild calls for me, and a new settlement will not be as loud and crowded as the ones I have left behind.... hopefully.
4) Well as I am applying to be a Researcher, I would really like to save myself, although you have already only given me a 30% chance of survival here. Although to truthfully answer your question, I would try to save the Guard because for all the things I am good at, fighting is not one of them currently. I may have my own notes and important information to bring back to the guild, or have a copy of the notes that Researcher that is also stuck will be losing. The Guard would be hopefully able to make sure that I and the unconscious third member of our party is able to get back to town safely.
This is all assuming I don't have a 30% chance of saving myself without taking the Guard into account.
5) For something interesting, as well as to finally get a little bit of peace and quiet around here.
I will slowly but surely finish backstories and Questionnaires

I still need to do Mia's background (because it keeps ending up way darker than I want), but the rest of her fluff is now more or less complete.
