Premise: This campaign is a mix of a Pokemon Academy campaign, gym crawl, and a high-stakes spying adventure. This region, Zaphros, has long been known for pokemon smuggling, abuse, theft, assault, and many other crimes. In an attempt to fix this, thirteen years ago Richard Letourneau bought all of the Pokemon Academies in the region, making all but one of them gyms, except for one. Olmia Academy. New laws were passed, making pokemon harder to acquire and the Letourneau Corporation put tracking chips in all pokeballs and Pokedexes used at Olmia Academy. But, if these things exist, why does all of this crime still happen? That's what you aim to find out. Trinity has always been a shadowy group. Most people regard it as an urban legend, just something kids talk about to scare each other. The thing is, though, it's true. Trinity is a group of people determined to make Zaphros a better place and stop the corruption that so often occurs here. The group was thought to be founded twenty years ago, and all of the current agents were hand-picked by either those founders or extremely trusted agents. The name Trinity came from a church that they used to operate out of, though no one remembers the church's name, except for the Trinity part. You recently came into contact with a Trinity agent, telling you they could get you into Olmia, but you had to work for Trinity. You never saw this agent, but sure enough, you got your acceptance letter. Olmia Academy is notoriously hard to get into, and only excepts 350 applicants each year. The school only accepts those aged fourteen to twenty, and a school year there is eighteen months. Because of it's exclusivity and remote location, most would ignore it, if it wasn't the only way to get a pokemon, that is. Pokemon are illegal, if not owned by someone in the Pokemon League or a student of Olmia Academy. In the eyes of Trinity, this makes Olmia very suspicious. Trinity believes there's much more to Olmia than meets the eye... This is where you come in. Your character will be sneaking around, beating gyms or contests, and uncovering secrets in a variety of locales. Making allies and enemies, finding skeletons in the closets of major corporations, and ultimately deciding the fate of Zaphros itself will all be present in this campaign! Please check the wiki on the region here. Everything is linked in the first page, and should be covered, but if you have any questions or want to request another page be added, feel free to ask! Players/Expectations: - For this campaign, I will be accepting 3-5 players, depending on interest and applications.
- Interested players are expected to have Skype for OOC chatter.
- Unless it is a holiday, or something unexpected has come up and you have talked to me about it, you must be able to post at least once every two days.
- You must be okay with playing in both solo and group scenarios. You will all start separately, but meet up very quickly. Sometimes missions are only going to require one person, so you have to be okay with splitting up Scooby-Doo style.
- Applications will be accepted until January 10th, 2016 12:00 AM EST.
- Accepted players will be expected to at least have looked around on the wiki.
Character Crunch: - TL 1
- Your character must be aged 14-20 and be from a city on the Map of Zaphros.
- Your starter cannot be a psuedo-legendary. It will be one level five pokemon with one egg move chosen in accordance with the playtest packet tutor rules. Feel free to also give your pokemon a skill background!
- You have 2,000 to spend. You may not purchase pokeballs, TMs, Vitamins, Poffins, Pokemon Held Items, or Simple/Fine weapons. You may purchase medicines, portable growers, Trainer Held Items, and the like. You may purchase a Crude Weapon for 400.
- You will be starting with a Pokedex, 5 Pokeballs, 2 Potions, 1 Revive, and 1 Bandage.
- In your characters backstory, please write why they decided to agree to Trinity's terms. They had just received their denial letter from Olmia Academy when a message came in from a Trinity agent on their phone or computer, that if they agreed to work with Trinity they would get into Olmia. I'd like to see why your characters all decided to do this, despite knowing little about what they were getting themselves into.
- Please use the Moltres Sheet for your character sheet.
Banned Materials:
- Warper and Telepath from the core book are banned. All other Supernatural/Elementalists are allowed, but please not that the occult is not common or accepted in Zaphros. If you choose to play a Supernatural/Elementalist character, please explain how this effects them. Another note, I will probably only be accepting one or two Supernatural characters, if they completely wow me.
- Engineer, Upgrader, and Glitch Bender from Do Porygon Dream of Mareep? are banned.
- Rune Master and Arcanist from Game of Throhs are banned.
If you have any other comments, questions or concerns, feel free to ask! To be included in the skype group, either PM me your skype username or leave it here, and you'll be added! Applicants: NATEINCAPS did a table of all the applicants that you can see here!

Surprised I'm the first to respond as I took my time over the sheet, but I suppose it was only just New Year's. My character is Simeon Walther, a friendly farm boy out of his element but eager to learn. Mechanically he'd fill a mostly supportive role, I wanted to start him with Chef but Cheerleader is so reliant on Orders to work I thought I'd best have the base mechanics for that in place instead. This sheet does not yet seem to include the play test revised version of Cheerleader, which might be an issue later? My Skype is hywel.nevard, if you want to invite me to a Skype chat. Typically I run on GMT, and work from home so have little trouble with regular posting, and I've read through the linked wiki pages once (though I'll probably skim them again nearer the deciding date). It wasn't exactly clear how restrictive the region I dropped my character in is, so if I mischaracterised it at all please say so. Right now I am on holiday visiting my partner in Miami until the 11th of January and only have a tablet for a browser until I get back. That sheet was written entirely on an iPad, so there's likely some mistakes I will be very happy to fix. It also made it difficult to acquire a picture, so I'm afraid you might have to rely on text for my character app. Sorry!

I've gotten some interest through PMs and Skype, but yeah, not much so far, and I'm guessing that's because of holidays. The sheet does have the playtest version of Cheerleader under Cheerleader [Playtest]. On the region, you haven't characterized it at all! Yarrin is a pretty remote and old-fashioned place, so Simeon's backstory fits there.
Don't worry about not being able to use a computer at the moment, from what I saw, I didn't see any problems with your sheet. Plus, pictures can easily be added when you get back to using a computer! Also, sent you a contact request on Skype.

And myself also. I'm AeonThePhoenix on Skype.
I've got a Fashionista/Artificer practically ready bar a background re-write, possibly delving into Telekinetic.

I think I have a bit of interest in this game, as well. Haven't a clue what I'm going to go with (need to read though the wiki), but I might end up going with a wild child sort of character; might be fun to see how that type of character acts in the more civilized world. Add me to the skype group when you get the chance, and I think you know my name on their already.

I shall post my interest as well and look into creating a concept.
Question: How 'gritty' will your campaign be?
Also here's my skype account for pregame chat: drblockr

The campaign, for the most part, well be pretty medium grit, if that makes sense. A lot of things will be pretty light-hearted, some of it will be more medium grit or normal, and very few things will be actually gritty. Basically, it will be, for the most part, pretty normal without too much grit or light-heartedness either way. I hope that answers your question!

Throwing my hat in this one, it seems pretty interesting. I'm Soirgriffe on skype.
I've got two questions though, from your blurb it sounds like capturing Pokemon is going to be hard, is capture specialist less recommended?
I've had one concept in mind with a Rhyhorn, would this be a suitable starter mon? If not, I've got another plan with a water trainer I want to try out.

Alright, here's my character! Vess Li is here with a... rather depressing backstory, honestly. One of the most natural characters I've made in a while! Let me know if anything needs to change.

About capture specialist and catching pokemon, it's a bit less recommended, yes, but not extremely so. You'll be able to catch Pokemon at the school if you do well in classes or doing a group training exercise learning how to catch pokemon, but that's about it. When you're away from the school, though, you'll be able to catch as many pokemon as you want. You won't be able to go outside of the school for the first two months of game time, and after that its only every other month, so it's definitely a "Your Mileage May Vary" class.
Rhyhorn is fine for a starter mon. It fits all of the restrictions, so it works!
Sent a request as well!

With a background that is about twice as long as I thought it'd be, here's Gregory Pegal, a laid-back, young fisherman who just wants to have a Pokemon of his own. He's a Capture Specialist/Water Ace who'l probably end up taking more trainer classes, specifically Speed Ace and Ace Trainer, but I might squeeze Hobbyist in their because it's both a fun class and it's thematic. Putting the backstory in this post too because of the aforementioned long of it. Gregory was born and raised in Petram Town of the Asper region. The Pegles where a simple sort of people, having been fishermen and sailors for generations, and Gregory was no different. Between school and spending time with friends/family, Gregory spent most of his childhood with an old rod out by a quite stream fishing. His father had introduced the hobby to him and Gregory found it relaxing, even if he didn’t catch much. It was an odd hobby for a youngling like Gregory to have but it taught the boy patience and humility, along with just giving him something to do.
One day, while Gregory was out fishing at his usual spot, he spotted something shining in the water. He wasn’t able to make out what the shining thing was, but evidently it went on and took the bait on Gregory’s fishing rod. When he reeled it in, the boy found the shining thing to be a beautiful Goldeen with a more golden coat as opposed to its regular orange coat. Gregory was amazed by this fish, and he wanted to take it home, but no one in his family owned a trainer’s license and Gregory didn’t want to have to give it to someone else. Not wanting to bring the fish home to be cooked, either, Gregory decided to simple let the Goldeen live and let it back into the stream.
When Gregory came back to the stream to fish the next day he was surprised to see the sparkling Goldeen still there. The fish swam around the area the boy was squatted at and just, stayed there. It didn’t take his bait, and occasionally would jump out of the water doing a sort of “trick” in the air before falling back in or blow bubbles (the non-damaging type) at the boy. Gregory found this very odd, has he had never seen a fish Pokemon act this way, and never really thought Pokemon capable of showing this sort of affection. He certainly didn’t mind the Goldeen, and even found it nice to have a partner of sorts.
For about a week, every day Gregory went down to that stream he found that shining Goldeen there. The boy even brought some fish feed for the Goldeen a few times, to which he got squirted in the face with water for each time, but Gregory figured that was the fish’s way of saying “thank you”. Gregory really grew to like that Goldeen, and even thought of stealing it away and keeping it hidden. He even went so far as to pick out a fishbowl he could put it in. But, when he went to the stream one day his fishy friend just wasn't there. Gregory never saw that shiny Goldeen again, actually.
The Goldeen’s disappearance wasn’t something that hit Gregory particularly hard, he knew that it was only natural for a fish to move on like that, but he was still saddened by it. He found himself missing that sort of companionship only a Pokemon could give you, and that feeling was something that Gregory never stopped craving. It was a craving strong enough that he decided to try and get that feeling back.
Gregory applied for Olmia Academy, a bit of a shocking thing to do from a Pagle. His parents still supported him, though, and while he certainly had the determination to see the application through, he lacked the skills. And with no family history in training and no connections to the academy, Gregory soon found himself faced with a denial letter from the academy. He was positively crushed.
But then, a few days later, Gregory received a mysterious e-mail. It was from some agent of this agency called “Trinity” who said that he could get Gregory into Olmia Academy, with a Pokemon of Gregory’s choice, of the boy was willing to do some work for the agency. Gregory had never heard of Trinity before, and at first wrote off the e-mail as a scam. Even if it was a chance for him to get a Pokemon, it wasn’t worth the risk, and if it was true then that meant unfairly kicking out someone who deserved to be at the academy.
However, there was this feeling in the back of Gregory’s mind, a feeling he had never felt before. It was a sort of excitement mixed in with curiosity. What if this agent was telling the truth? What could Trinity be trying to do? What did they want him to do, what could he find out, what could he become? This feeling, mixed with his craving to have a Pokemon companion, eventually won over the boy over.
He contacted the agent and agreed to his terms. Then, after a bit of lying to his parents and a bit of celebration with his friends, Gregory headed out for Olmia, a nervous excitement brewing in his gut.

Well, my app's done. Meet Zodor "Zo" Mayka, the powerful and great. Background Zo had a fairly ordinary childhood, living in Melodes. This changed when he was 12 and found a rather dusty book in a far off and secluded corner of the public library. The book was called 'Common Hexes, Jinxes and Curses' and the first few paragraphs alone offerred more ways to mess with people than Zo had ever bothered to think of. Understandably, a somewhat wicked smile grew on his face, and he took to studying the book, trying to learn any of the spells hidden within. To his surprise and delight, not only was he capable of doing so, he seemed quite adept at it, easily mastering some of the simpler spells in the book. However, it was also around this time that he noticed the ... attitude most of the people had toward the occult, and he understood quickly that if he wanted to practise his magic, he would need to hide it somehow. Luckily, he remembered a book he had read some time ago, and set out a plan. He would masquarade his magic tricks as feats fof science, making gadgets that would appear to be the way he used his powers, or at least the more obvious ones. Problem was, Zo only had a rudimentary knowledge of tech and would not be able to make somthing workable. However, he could bullshit like the best of them, and using some copperwire, duck tape and some common househeld items, he managed to cobble something almost passable as proper tech, as long as you didn't know what you were talking about. He continued this way, conning his way into having people believe he was the greatest tech-wiz in town, until he turned 16, when he decided that he wanted to start training some Mon, gain some proper recognition around the whole region, not just Melodes. So, he applied for the Olmia Academy, willing to bullshit his way in if needed. He managed to get to the interview stage, where he was rejected, not, ironically, because he was busted, but rather because they found he would disrupt the order in the school and that he was somewhat mentally instable. As such, Zo happily accepted the offer from Trinity, his reasoning being: ""Give up on such a excellent way to cause chaos? No way!"
