Inaugural Mission: Introduction and First Mission

Alex sat up and turned to Thane to address him. "Welcome back to the land of the living, Thane. To answer your question, yes, we stopped them, a little bit after you went down," she said, pointing to the bandits that were tied up a little bit a ways from where they were sitting. "Want some water?" She asked, reaching into her bag and pulling out a fresh bottle of enriched water.

"Water? Yeah... Water sounds good, thanks." Thane says, taking the bottle and downing it quickly, obviously suffering from dehydration. "You guys were all really good out there, how do you think i did?" he says with a sort of half-smirk, obviously not expecting a particularly flattering answer.

"Ah good, the leader of the Rainbow Big Lizard Group is here." Thane said with a chuckle "Yeah, we managed even though you let the bandit leader and his best fighters past your line, that damn fire user hurt like hell" Thane says as he pulls his ash-covered coat on. "How could you miss that flashy group anyway? The bandits were simple but those 4 packed a hell of a punch."

"Clearly we did. Luckily at least one group could." Ovelia said from her sitting position. "Now, since stopping a few people from escaping was too hard... Do we need to go help you guys?" Ovelia asked with a smile.

Things were going so well after the fight that Alex had forgotten that Byron was coming that way. But she got a rude awakening. An extremely rude, self-centered, arrogant piece of s*** awakening. "I see you haven't changed, Byron," Alex said to him in a harsh tone. "Still chasing after the weak, making yourself seem like a tough man, but when it comes to manning up and facing a real challenge, you always back down."

Alex is going to stand up and walk close to Byron, until she is about 3 feet away from him. "But don't get me wrong. I love it. Stay the way you are. It is going to make it so much more satisfying when I bury your face in the dirt."

"You act like you worked hard enough to work up an appetite.  Wow, fifteen magicless bandits...Were you afraid the summoner's summons would be too tough for you?  I mean, four mages and four summons would be far more terrifying than fifteen weaklings I suppose." Ovelia says calmly, "Still, you don't seem the type bright enough to know how to make even the most basic food, but with a brain that's mostly fat, I'm sure you need a lot to eat. Is there anything in particular you would like?  Or maybe I can bring something for the others that probably had to carry you?"

He glared back, "Of course, I'll take you do---"

As Byron said that the ground under him collapsed in, and Byron was stuck in the ground in a hole with his arms squished up against his body.

"Byron, that's not actions befitting that of a magic knight." Melvin said, his hand out, "We got them though. They surrendered. I'm sorry about Byron here. He's being rather ru-"

Byron interrupted, "Hey! they started it, I was ju-"

An earth dome covered Byron's head, "My apologies for him."

Since Shelldon declined the offer Niyol laid down drifting around in the area as he looked up to the sky when he heard Oveila start to wake up. Niyol literally flew to her side before retracing himself a good way remaining silent the whole while.

At the arrival of Byron and his admittance that he was taking his sweet ol' time, Niyol couldn't help but feel a level of annoyance at his attitude. As the conversation progressed the more secretly annoyed Niyol became but his self control was, obviously, better than his teammates.

For the time being, Niyol watched on while seated in mid air with his arms crossed. He knew only a little of women and probably knows a lot less than he think he does but getting involved with an angry woman and two of them at that just seems like a bad idea.

When Byron fell into the ground and Melvin arrived, Niyol chuckled floating down beside Oveila and held a finger as if to say, 'wait a minute' to what Oveila was about to say. "Sorry, Oveila. But I can't let Byron get away from not only endangering our welfare but the mission as well."

Niyol then faced Melvin only slight floating from the ground. "That is a niffy spell." Niyol squeezed the comment in with a tilt of his head at the cover Bryon. "And I don't see anything wrong with a friendly competition but my guild mates has a right to be angry. We requested the assistance of a senior Magic Knight, only to find out that he willing and purposely took his time and arriving a good while after we defeated the leaders, just. Yer seem a very capable leader but yer subordinate, this one at least...."

Niyol trailed off not wishing to insult any more than he possibly had already. "Well, I believe yer see why we are a mite upset."

Mael watched the proceedings with a neutral expression. He'd used up all his energy for today fighting and then getting a magic flight ride, so he was happy to remain silent. His neutral expression didn't change even as the man named Byron dug himself a proverbial hole, but his eyebrows shot up when he actually sunk into the ground. It seemed justice still existed in this world. While he was a little annoyed that Byron had shown up so late, all Mael wanted was for this to be over so he could go home.

Should he say something to that effect, Mael wondered. Perhaps that would be too rude. Mael shrugged. It seemed Niyol wasn't quite ready for them to go home. He'd simply have to hope that this wouldn't be dragged out for too long.
