It was the first day. The day to come to come to The Order of The Youngest Sage's barracks. The news came delivered by way of a mail, delivered by hand by members of The Order of the blurriest messenger. An older member by the name of Jin Getsuo, a rather portly fellow who didn't look fast in the slightest. He road a top a Tropicus, hand delivering a letter to each of the young applicants. The letter was sealed inside a eggshell white envelope with a lavender purple symbol pressed wax on the envelope. The symbol was of what seemed to be a single book, giant Y on one side of the book and an X on the other. Inside of the letter was a simple message from Sans Marvas The Leader of The Order, a map, and a pin bearing the same symbol as the letter. Hello, I've selected you to join the order of the youngest sage.I have selected you to help 'Spice' up the guild for the upcoming years. Included in this letter is a map, and a pin. With this in mind, I ask you all to come in two weeks time to the place outlined on the map. Yours Truly, Sans Marvas And now you are standing outside of the place outlined in the map. Located on the Outskirts of Templas city. Stood the location designated on the map. A large building, looking to be four stories tall, with two wings spanning a large amount of room, stood this building. It was quaint in design looking like a normal wood and stone house, with a small garden out front. In the garden in front of the building stood two people. The first was the man you all knew to be Sans Marvas. He was wearing a large blue robe, that draped over his body. His face was very thin, you could almost see his bones under it. He was bald. and stood with his hands in his robes pockets. Under the robe it was easy to see a pair of black shoes and black pants under it. He had a large grin on his face. Standing next to him was a small short boy. He didn't look to be any older than eight. Far to young to be a normal member of the Magic knights orders. He wore a simple brown shirt, and shorts on sandles. His hair was messy and black. His face looked at the arrivals with a bit of fear. Though the most noticeable thing about him was the pink glowing spell book in front of him. The two of them watched as the young new knights approached.

A tall and wiry young man with a sword sheathed on his back covered by a shield (Both of which look too large for him to handle), Thane is wearing a pair of simple brown pants as well as a leather jacket over what appears to be a shirt maid of chain links that covers a shirt made of leather or hide of some kind. In his hands is a heavy looking bag that looks stuff to the brim, as well as a wicker basket slung around his shoulder. His eyes full of wonder, Thane looks around at the outside, drinking in his surroundings as he approaches the Order's barracks.
"This place is huge, are there really enough people in the guild to fill this massive building?" He asks aloud while still scrutinizing every detail of his surroundings before his eyes come to rest on Sans and the young boy, standing a few feet away. "Oh, hello, i don't believe we have met, I'm Thane, I'm new here as you can probably tell, who are you?" Thane asks with a friendly smile to the small boy with the pink tome.

Sans shook his head, "Welcome to the 'Pot'. There aren't really enough members to fill the building. Though the building is made so that way everyone can have all the space they need. Turn any room that hasn't been taken into a forge if you want."
He rubbed the kids head, and looked at the kid for a moment.
The little boy shrunk behind Sans but smiled as if he had heard something funny. This is when a voice said inside of Thane's head, My.... names.... Shelldon Serilacan

"So, today's really the day, huh..." Mael muttered softly. He had his Pokemon, Tenebram on his shoulder, so he wasn't completely talking to himself. Or at least, he didn't look like he was. The Pokemon never responded to any of his comments though, so either way it was a completely one-sided conversation.
Mael would be lying if he said he didn't feel a little nervous. It was the first time he'd ever been this far away from home. But if I want to know what happened to Alvar, I'll have to go further than this, beyond the city. This is good practice if nothing else, he thought. Mael shrugged and forced himself to relax, his nervousness almost seemed to fall off at the comforting action. A shrug was all Mael needed to feel like himself. He'd face whatever happened just like he did everything else, calmly and with just the right amount of effort. Generally not a high amount.
Mael was wearing his usual clothes today. That meant he was in a comfortable shirt of not-too expensive material, a pair of dark cloth trousers and black shoes. A black robe which reached past his knees was draped over the rest of his clothes. Slung around his shoulders was a bag, containing various things that he had felt were important. Under his arm was his prized possession, the Book of the Abyss. This tome with a rather cheesy title was a gift from his parents some time before the death of his brother. Mael had still taken his magical training seriously back then. In recent times Mael had mostly used it for what he liked to call 'light reading'. It was great to read while he was waiting for something. He had only very recently started training himself again, to prepare for joining the Order.
When Mael reached the place that had been described in the map, he sighed. "I'm really doing this aren't I..." he muttered, whether it was to himself or to Tenebram was unclear. The building in front of him was absolutely massive. Mael had to raise an eyebrow in interest. His family was quite well off, but even their house wasn't of so spacious. "I suppose this is what a guild house is like." In the garden in front of the building, Mael could see three people. One of them seemed to be around his own age, while the other two were either much older or much younger. He recognized the eldest as a man he had seen during his test. "So that's the leader of the Order of the Youngest Sage... He doesn't look that impressive." Mael shrugged and made his way over to them. As he neared them, he noticed that the youngest of the trio also held a spell book in his hands. Perhaps the Mael and the kid could compare their books later?
"Hello," Mael said as he reached the three. "I'm Mael Caligo," he introduced himself to the group, then turned to the eldest, "I assume you're Sans Marvas, my new leader?" Although the man didn't look very special, Mael liked his style. He looked to be the laid back kind too. Or at least, that's what Mael hoped. If the leader of the Order was laid back, maybe he could get away with being a slacker.

"Thanks, I'll try to keep my stuff out of the way." Thane says before his expression drops for a moment, replaced by one of confusion before regaining his composure and saying to Shelldon "Nice to meet you." while trying to seem friendly.
"Oh, hello, I'm Thane, i am new here as well." he says upon seeing the new person approach and introduce themself.

Alex walked towards the front of the mansion, looking down at her map, making sure she was at the right place. The facility seemed unnecessarily large for the amount of occupants, so she double checked that this was the right place. But upon spotting what seemed to be one of the judges at the magic knight auditions, she knew she was in the right spot. Alex was wearing a pair of pants that seemed heavily used, with permanent wear on it, and a black fur coat, the coat emblazoning the pin that she had received from the letter. The coat seemed to bulge out a bit, and that was because she was wearing some armor underneath it. She was not wearing any shoes, and one could easily see that she didn't normally either, as her feet had calloused naturally due to it. She was carrying with her a backpack full of supplies that she needed, and another bag that was filled with camping equipment. As she approached the group of people, she said "Hello, I am Alexandra Rose, but you can call me Alex." She then turned to address Sans. "Hello Sans. Thank you for accepting me into the Order. I am really happy to be here," she said with sincerity, as she viewed this as the second best place to be in order to enact her revenge. "Is there a place where I may drop off my luggage real quick? I want to get it out of my hands before I make my rounds."Just as a friendly reminder, Alex is the one without any whites in her eyes.

As the day arrived where Ovelia had to head to the barracks she wasn't sure if she should be thrilled to get out of the house and away from the constant arguments that it had been since her test or annoyed that she was in the Youngest Sage guild.
As usual, she had procrastinated on packing and traveling rushing at the last minute as she bolted around the room tossing clothing, armor, medical supplies, tomes, and other things in a bag. During the trip to the barracks, Ovelia couldn't help but be annoyed at how she had been called to the barracks. Really? Delivered by the Blurriest Messenger? She thought annoyed. As if it wasn't bad enough that it was clear I wanted in that order and he ruined it by stealing me from them, no, he also rubs it in...
When the mansion came in sight, but before she got close enough to see actual people, Ovelia stopped. She took a deep breath and focused on being calm and dignified. Going in looking cranky and upset would be improper. At the very least she had to keep complaints quiet and light. She had no intentions in being in the guild for long, so being prim and proper was the best image to leave.
Once she had composed herself, Ovelia finished the walk to the mansion. Any people who saw her would see a young dark haired maiden with brown leather armor. On her hips was a one-handed sword and strapped to her left thigh by a leather holster was a throwing dagger. Slung over her shoulder was a traveling bag. Her brown boots walked gently and gracefully as she approached, carrying an air of nobility to her.
When she arrived, she gave a polite bow to any present and held up the letter and the pin. "Ovelia Verene, here." She said calmly and softly.

"Wow, so many new faces to remember. Well i'm Thane, glad to meet you two as well." Thane says his eyes lingering maybe a few moments too long on Alex's own before looking to Ovelia. "So Sans, are there any other people around here i will need to get acquainted with?" Thane asks as he turns to Sans.

As the people gathered began to talk, a voice traveled on the wind. A voice full of youth but hint of raspiness to it as if even the young has its trouble. ~How many roads must a man walk down Before you call him a man?
How many seas must the white dove sail Before she sleeps in the sand?~ A shaggy head of golden locks came into view follow by a glint of green from an emerald embossed into a decorated black eyepatch. The young man one good eye was closed, contemplative as the voice continue to flow from the man slightly weather chapped lips.
~Yes, n how many time must the cannonballs fly Before they're forever banned?
The answer, my friend, is blowin' in the wind The answer is blowin' in the wind~ The man stopped before the group his leather boots scuffing against the rough ground before opening his stormy blue eye. The man smiled at those gathered and deftly pulled out the invitation with two fingers from inside his navy sea jacket. "Hmhm~, pleasure to see yar again Mister Marvas! Pleasure more to be apart of the Youngest Sage. Niyol Eyvindr at your service come wind or storm." As Niyol held out the letter for Marvas, he noticed the shy boy practically behind him and winked. "Don't worry I may have once been a pirate but I was the worst one there ever was. Me old crew always wondered how I could be so awfully nice and live."Niyol stood casually yet almost glamorously with his brocaded jacket covered in swirls of stitched gold thread that complimented his hair. Where there was jewels and gold however there was sign of wear and take upon the man. Underneath his jacket was a simple black v-neck shirt and his black slacks wear thin about the knees were tucked into a pair of boot that had seen better days but was obviously well cared for. His hair while a pretty good was badly cut with short hair in the front and long strands in the back.
A dewdrop green gem hung from his right ear and looks that it should belong to a girl.

Sans looked at the new arrivals, "Heh, good. All of the new arrivals are here. Yes, I am Sans Marvas. He pointed behind him, Welcome to the pot. There are plenty of open rooms for you guys to take. Take as many as you want ad do whatever you want to."
Sans smiled as Than mentioned meeting the other members, "There are some people for you to meet. Though, go drop your stuff off, we actually have a quest for you five already that you guys should go handle. So get your selfs situated and come back out. There's something "Spicy" that the sages need to deal with."

Alex is looking at Sans funny, trying to figure out what the whole 'spice' deal is, but then just decides he'll probably elaborate on it later. "Thank you, I will be right back shortly" she said, then went inside the mansion. Upon entering it, she was just as amazed as when she first saw it. It was a very spectacular looking mansion and well kept. She headed upstairs to try to find what seemed to be an empty room (after opening several doors for occupied rooms). She set her stuff down around her room. She emptied her backpack and then put in it her tome, some medical supplies, water, and the traps she had made today. She picked up her bag and set out.

Niyol shuffle his bag on his shoulder, "So it'll be the five of us then? Well, nice to meet you all. Again my name is Niyol. I look forward to working you all." Niyol gave a wave in farewell as he entered the mansion after Alex to search for the highest room in the building with, hopefully, lots of windows. Once he found a room that we liked, Niyol dumped his pack on the bed. He will have to build a sling sleep in later that day.
After checking that his cutlass was securely fastened, Niyol took one of the two tomes from his pack and whistled a jolly tune to summon Flynt. The Archen appeared and immediately went to Niyol's shoulder. Niyol laughs lightly as he tucked the colorful tome into his inside vest pocket.
"Had a nice sleep? We got some work todo so be on your best behavior." Niyol pet the soft feathers along the Archen's neck and opened a window to return reach the ground floor the fast way. Instead of falling however Niyol simply float to the ground hardly having to crouch on the landing. "Alright can't wait to get going!"

As the 'flamboyant' figure arrives, Ovelia has to struggle much harder than usual to keep up her poised appearance. Oh gods... She thought trying to refrain from judging immensely. Its official, the gods hate me. She thought to herself as the gaudy figure made his introductions. His entire body screamed try-hard and she couldn't help but judge the efficiency, or rather lack there of, of the extravagant look. Regardless, Ovelia kept her first impressions hidden and merely gave the polite bow when he finished. After all, first impressions were not always the best judge of character. And even if it was a perfect judge of character she would be stuck with the group for now so getting along would be best. "Ovelia Verene." She introduces herself. When Sans speaks for the first time her soft smile actually falters for just a moment before quickly returning. He didn't...it was unintentional for sure! She thought at his comment. If that was intentional I'm shocking him... She thought before her rational side quickly jumped in. What? No! You can't do that! She told herself. Just a light one? Ugh, fine... "I will be right back then." Ovelia said when told to get a room and come back. She then turned and walked toward the door at a calm normal pace. She was in no rush and had zero desire to show off her magic. As she entered the mansion, she calmly reached out with her senses to try and get a feel for any abundance of metal or if the building was mostly stone. She looked for the closest unoccupied room to the door and would claim it preferring to not have to walk too or waste time going places. After all, the quicker she could get somewhere, the longer she could wait to leave. For now, she just set her bag down and headed back. She would unpack eventually...maybe... Ok, to be fair she would probably leave everything in her bag until she had to take it out, but once it was out then it would be placed somewhere else so eventually she would be unpacked probably. Once she set the bag down, she looked around the room and sighed before heading back outside with her outfit, the dagger on her thigh, the sword on her hip, and her tome hanging from a 'holster' she had crafted that rested near her butt, hidden by the cloak. She reached back and withdrew it, double checking it was her tome, before placing it back in its spot. Since they were going on a mission the last thing she wanted was a repeat of the time she had forgotten that she had put the latest romance novel in the holster and had gone out to train with the wrong book. Once she was sure she was ready for whatever stupid mission the Youngest Sage would have for them, she headed back to the group and waited quietly and patiently. Mostly just magnetic curiosity to see if this is a good place for sticking to surfaces

Thane nods and says "Be right back then, I can't wait to see what you and the others can do" to Mael before heading inside the Pot. After a short while of searching he found the Pot's Kitchen with an adjoining mess hall on it's right side, and was lucky to find the two rooms on it's left unoccupied. Thane set up most of his things in the central room between the Kitchen and the other empty room, before writing down "Thane's Workshop" on a piece of paper and lightly nailing it to the door of the other unoccupied room to the left of his bedroom before leaving the pouch filled with the few smithing tools he had brought with him on a small table inside. I will need to head into town later and buy some things to get a real forge set up in there he mused as he made his way back outside with only the gear he felt would be needed in a bag slung around his shoulder and a small ash-covered tome on his hip.

Mael gave the new arrivals a friendly nod and introduced himself, "I'm Mael Caligo." He gave the group a hidden once over and did a double take at the girl who had pitch black eyes. Alex was her name. The surprise didn't show on his face, but that was something he hadn't seen before. Idly he wondered if it was the result of a spell. It was intriguing. He then replied to Thane. "The same to you, Thane," he said. That was a lie. He didn't really care too much about what the other apparent newbies could do, as long as they didn't get him killed in the field. Mael's idea of what being a Magic Knight was about had been distorted by his brother's death. To him it was the most dangerous thing one could do. But Thane didn't need to know all that, and telling him that he didn't care wouldn't have been nice. Strange, how telling the truth could be worse than lies sometimes.
Mael shrugged once more. He'd be doing that a lot, and the others may as well get used to it. "I'll be right back once I've sorted out my stuff then." With that, he walked into the huge building. He eventually found a corridor of rooms, of which he picked the closest empty one to the exit. There was no way he'd pick a room upstairs. Walking up those stairs every time would get so tedious.
Inside, Mael took his bag from his back and deposited all the stuff he didn't need immediately, such as his changes of clothes, a few recreational books and other comforts. He also pulled out a belt which had two holsters clipped to it, one of which was filled by his tome. The one that contained his Pokemon that is. Mael remembers when he was younger and he would confuse his spell book for his tome only to summon a blast of magic rather than a Pokemon. He quickly put his spell book into the empty holster and then put the belt on.
With his business finished, he then headed back out to join the others outside. As he walked out, and spotted the group he decided that he could work with this group. Ovelia seemed the strong and competent type. If he had less self control, he'd be thinking about her beauty, but that just wasn't him. Thane seemed like the reliable kind. Niyol was... not terrible at singing and apparently a former pirate, even if a bad one by his own admission. Just how dangerous a job would being a Magic Knight have to be if even a pirate saw it as an alternative? Alex... was barefooted. Mael wasn't really sure what that was all about. And finally, Sans seemed to like puns. His intuition wasn't as good as his lying, but if their leader was the joking type, maybe he was right about him being laid back. Mael could definitely work with this group. He did wonder about the little kid though. He hadn't introduced himself as far as Mael remembered. He was a little young to be a guild member. Was he some kind of magical prodigy? Or perhaps he was Sans's son. If Mael could be bothered, he'd ask later.

Thane pulls a few wax cloth bundles out of his bag, offering one to Sans while saying to everyone "I made some sandwiches if you like, got a bunch of flavors here, sweet, spicy, salty, dry, its really suprising how many different ways you can make Oran taste. Go ahead and take one, i made plenty."

Niyol greet the offer of food with enthusiasm, "Hey,Thanks! Don't mind if I do. You good with hands, uh...?" Niyol trailed off realizing he didn't know the large man by name but nonetheless took two sandwiches one for himself and the other for Flynt.

"Thane. My name is Thane, sorry, i made so many introductions earlier that i forgot to introduce myself to you!" he says before chuckling a bit. "I am pretty good with them, you need some control if you hope to make anything resembling what you intended with a forge, it's helpful in the kitchen too."

"No worries there is quite a few of us here. And you're are a forger too? I guess I'll be counting on ya to upkeep the armory. Where are you from Thane?" Niyol started up a pleasant conversation while they wait, enjoying the sandwich. "These are good. It taste a little sweet and sour." Niyol commented approvingly on the sandwich, in between the conversation.

"Oh, i came from Baudwin, a small town to the southeast of Galahad City, we are just a little hole in the wall, probably not even on the maps." Thane explained "My sister and mother run a shop growing and selling flowers and berries there, my mother was actually the one who taught me about cooking and how to soften Oran Berries into a jam, among other tricks." Thane says as he gestures to the obvious dark blue jelly in the sandwich.
