Icarus goes to agree with Cecily, but is shushed by Oakfell almost instantly, who signals that Quel'clay is beginning to talk. The fire is seemingly sucked out of torches, a brief glance reveals Pansear's clambering around the walls, dimming the room. Quel'clay steps forward, and the cloaked individuals circle her, leaving a gap for the sixteen ambassadors, old and new. Jartok made a show of offering an arm to Uyori. anyone watching her face might claim she was considering it before she brushed by him. They both smiled. Oakfell strode forward, Icarus begrudgingly close behind, the two Slad'ran close behind Shoalo and the Rakshasa.
Once you've all taken positions, her speech began. Her voice echoed around the room despite being a soft lulling tone, as if someone was speaking quietly to avoid waking a child, it came to the ears easily, without having to strain.
"Welcome, one and all. I'm happy to announce the beginning of the Ambassador's Ceremony. Three hundred years have passed and once more we may send out the young, so that they may remind the world why they should trust the world's affairs in or hands. I speak, of course, not for the Djinn people, but as an amalgamation of the eight, of the Slad'ran, the Gillmen, the Chimeric Confederation, Orcs, Rakshasa, Libellan and Fey. The journey faced is a dangerous one, yes, but you have been chosen in belief that you have the stomach to handle such a task. To venture to every city of the world, and defeat their challenges. You shall be split, halves of you grouped together."
At these words, a Warforged steps forward, lowering a hood, and holding a parchement, which is handed to Quel'clay, she continues her speech.
"Icarus, of the Warforged, Cecily of the Libellan, Takuul of the Orcs, and Eli of the Chimeric Confederation, step forward."
Once you all do, she hands you a small disc, with eight little slots, as if to socket something inside.
"With these, you will replace your proof's of overcoming each cities challenge, but first, we must test you ourselves. People have chosen you, you have overcome much, so we are told, in your ways, but this is official now. Your first task before we send you on your journey is a simple one. Capture a Pokemon. We understand that you have your own, that you have fought with and trained, but we know not of the manners you've received them. We must know you can fend for yourself in the wild. To the North of here is Seer Heights Outpost, in your own time, you may go there, as a group, and you must capture any Pokemon you choose, and bring it here, back to us. Be warned, ambassadors, there are talks of goblins skulking around."
People seem to laugh at the mention of goblins, not such a huge threat, really. She performs a similar display with the other four, stating the same rules.
"You may take your time, but you'll have by the end of the week. If you return successful by then, the party will begin, and we'll await news of your victories."

Tarkuul does her best to be professional, though the energetic and curious Karga made that a little difficult. The puppy kept trying to run around and sniff the other ambassadors, though after a low, sharp command she stayed seated at Tark's side...Though her tail wagged constantly and a doggy grin was on her face. Na'tok stayed snuggled up with the ice pendant, nice and quiet during the ceremony. Tarkuul nodded and took the disc with her right hand, the left still cradling Na'tok, and at the end gave an orcish salute: twice pounding one's right fist over their heart. Usually it was reserved for warriors saluting one at a higher rank, or those addressing elders and chieftains, but Quel'clay and the other ambassadors were certainly respected enough to receive it.
Now that they were free to leave to complete their task, Tark looked for the three other companions she was to have. She had met Eli already, and the Warforged and Libellan were easy to find, at least...Especially since it seemed one was dressed like a particularly effeminate colorblind gnome. That one was definitely her companion. It was particularly hard to tell the older and younger Libellans apart, but she thought she recalled which one stepped forward when the names were called. She was sure she'd be able to tell them apart eventually. In the meantime, Tarkuul returned Na'tok to her runestone; the rune itself began glowing an icy blue to signify there was a pokemon inside, as always, and Na'tok was likely relieved to be out of the heat.

Prowl and Blaze both sat at attention during the ceremony, well used to behaving during important events and mission briefs. Having a CO that could palm their master's head, let alone theirs, probably had helped with that.
As the ceremony winds down, Eli grins at his new companions. "Well, I'm more than happy to set off at once." His expression does go serious as the groups are left to go about their business, looking at some of the people still chortling about the "dangers" of goblins as he does so. "That being said, I'm more than happy to share my combat style with you all, to keep us from stepping on one another's toes if we get into a fight." He taps a small ivory sigil on his belt, displaying a crossed blade and hunting horn.
"I'm a member of the Rangers, and I've been trained in skirmisher tactics. I get in, and whittle the enemy down with help from my mon. I've also got this..." He smirks as he holds up a finger, bringing a small candle's worth of flame to life on the slightly clawed tip. "Gives me some extra ranged options, and I can give a nasty burn to an enemy."

Cecily caught the new orc ambassador's salute and decided to follow suit with one of her own. Once she'd been handed her disk, she crossed her spear over her chest and whirred her wings briefly. Libellans might not have been able to fly, but they could definitely make noise with their wings when they wanted to. It acted as a signal for Draco to perch on the tip of her spear and buzz as well, while Praelia stood to attention behind her.
She couldn't really blame the mammals for having trouble differentiating her, though when she was actually standing next to Quincy it was pretty clear that she was a bit shorter. In any case, it'd be obvious when she came over to speak with them and he didn't. She'd slung her spear across her back again. Draco seemed to have gone back to watching poor Silas again, even though they were in the other group. She signaled to him sharply and he came back over with what looked to be the Yanma equivalent of a sigh. She gave him a stern look and held up one of the odd, bubbled swamp apricorns, silently saying, Do it again and you go to your room.
She nodded approvingly as Eli demonstrated his talents. "I do something similar. To the skirmish tactics, I mean. Though my weapons master tells me I'm a little too, ah, direct." She lifted her mandibles in a slight grin. "I like to hit them hard and fast. A Dragoon's power is good at dealing with harder targets. If something shrugs off normal weapons, I can pierce it. And Praelia is excellent on defense." The little Croagunk beamed... though really any smile from a Croagunk was still a little creepy.

Karga continued being entirely too adorable, wagging her fluffy tail and watching her trainer and the others from Tarkuul's side. Tark meanwhile, simply nodded and raised her hand, palm facing up. The air around the group grew cold - to Karga's delight - and a tiny whirlwind of light, powdery snow appeared in her palm.
"I'm an Ice Warden; one with a connection with the ice and snow of the north." She explained simply, ending the little show as quickly as it began. "I tend to keep my distance, but I do have my sword in case things get rough. Karga gets up close and personal when she fights, and Na'tok varies depending on the situation." Karga barked and looked proud as her name was said, puffing up her floofy chest even more. "...She's a fierce fighter." More floof.
"We should get going, though I'm unsure where the fourth member of our traveling party is..."

Eli nods, looking impressed at Tarkuul's abilities, and agreeing with her logic. "Soonest there, soonest back, and soonest able to start the party. Though it occurs to me that we should ask around as we leave, see if we can find out what type of pokemon are generally found in that area."

After some conversation with Oakfell, Icarus strides over to the rest of you, positioning his chest as if showing off his confidence with the matter at hand. The elder ambassadors each wave off the prospective diplmats. Jartok beats his chest twice to Tarkuul, winking as he did so. Stillgust nodded with a smile. Quincy made a small wave.
"Sorry! Oakfell just wished to ensure I know what I'm doing, I feel I should be trusted to know myself!" Icarus says, putting a hand on Eli's shoulder, "It's a pleasure to meet you all, shall we get this show on the road?"
People seem to be congregating outside the temple as well, idle villagers peering inside to catch a glance of the goings on, only to be ushered away by one robed individual or another. It's entirely possible that there would be a few people just outside eager to talk with the new ambassadors. The other four are to the side, possibly having their own introductions and conversations.

Cecily waved back at Quincy before turning back to the group, Draco settling on her shoulder. "Seems like a good idea to me. On both counts." She beckoned with one of her lower hands to Praelia, who stepped back into bodyguard position behind her. Not strictly necessary, but still impressive... and Cecily wasn't sure she was going to get Praelia to stop doing it now. She suspected Praelia liked looking 'official'.
She gestured toward the door. "It looks like there are plenty of people out there to ask. Unless we have more to talk about with the ambassadors or the other team first, we may as well get started. Oh, yes, before we do - are you a fighter... Icarus?" She hesitated fractionally before remembering what Quel'clay had called the Warforged.

Icarus seems to form a smile with the brass workings of his face, as much as one as possible, and one of his eyelights dims and relights quickly, almost like a wink at Cecily, "Don't you worry! I can hold my own, and I make an excellent distraction."The streets bustle with busy people but there are plenty of people who stop and stare at you all, some snide remarks go barely noticed amidst the mass of ooh's and smiles. Most of the people of the streets keep quiet at Eli's questioning, some covering their lips as a shush motion. Some say they can't spoil the surprise, others say it's tradition you go in blind! However, one group of elderly looking men take a little heart, a strangely short minotaur places a hand on Eli's shoulder, as a fancily dressed centaur and a morose looking elf watch. "You're from the Confederation, aren't you?" He says, gesturing to the centaur, "Garruhn and I used to work near Majak, see, I can recall talks of you, bit of a ladies man, eh? Tell you what, don't tell anyone I told you this, but up on Seer Heights there's a few electric mon, meant to paralyze ya, that's the test really, if you can make it back without getting all stiff, well, you get stiff anyway from what I hear, but you know what I mean. Advise you stock up on some Cheri berries."The minotaur gives a little wink, the centaur a thumbs up and the elf a small smile. They seem nice. As you walk out the city, your group passes The House of the Green Mother, and an elderly looking orc woman comes out, smiling at Tarkuul. You note a few glowing runestones around her neck, and one sigil, that of Anor. "Throm-ka, young ambassador," She says, drawing near, "I wonder if you'd assist us whilst on your excursion."She explains that there is a kind of plant she'd like to get ahold of that grows in Seer Heights, nothing huge, but a bush that grows Sitrus berries faster and more effectively than a tree. She asks if you can be on the lookout for such things, to bring her back a fruit, so she may plant some here. Cecily - ɒɣɤɧɮɯțɀɧɤțɤɮțɜɯɯɠɨɫɯɤɩɢțɯɪțɧɪɪɦțɜɭɪɰɩɟțɡɪɭțɮɪɨɠɪɩɠțɯɪțɠɳɫɧɜɤɩțɲɣɜɯțɨɜɩɩɠɭțɪɡțɫɪɦɠɨɪɩțɨɤɢɣɯțɝɠțɤɩțɮɠɠɭțɣɠɤɢɣɯɮȧțɮɤɨɫɧɴțɧɪɪɦɤɩɢțɰɫȧțɴɪɰțɮɫɪɯțɜțɮɨɜɧɧțɩɰɨɝɠɭțɪɡțɉɜɯɰțɡɧɴɤɩɢțɩɪɭɯɣȩțɏɣɤɮțɲɪɰɧɟțɞɠɭɯɜɤɩɧɴțɠɳɫɧɜɤɩțɯɣɠțɩɜɨɠțɪɡțɯɣɠțɮɨɜɧɧțɭɠɢɤɪɩȩțɒɣɠɯɣɠɭțɴɪɰțɮɣɜɭɠțɯɣɤɮțɤɩɡɪɭɨɜɯɤɪɩțɪɭțɩɪɯțɤɮțɰɫțɯɪțɴɪɰȩØ Whatever else you do in town, the walk to the north isn't far off, and there is an easy enough path to get you started, Icarus walks alongside you, sometimes stopping to take in amazement of a piece of artwork, or a song, or just interesting flowers.

Eli flushes, while Prowl snickers into his paw. "I'll, ah, I'll keep that in mind gentlemen." He looks extremely embarrassed as he makes a quick retreat. But he does share the tidbit with the others. "If those gents are right, there's electric types up there at least. At least only one of us has a mon with a weakness to that type." He does seem a bit more eager to get out of the town after that though, lengthening his stride as they headed northwards.

"Hm, that could be helpful. I saw some Natu flying over, and I think they were headed in that direction, too." Cecily gestures up at the sky to the north. "That seems logical, doesn't it? They call it Seer Heights, after all." Though it does leave her with a worrying choice, since if there are Electric-types and Psychic-types, she has to choose whether Draco or Praelia is in danger of taking a hit they're weak against. Then again, that's what fighting in a group is for, isn't it? They can try to keep opponents away from the Pokémon who are in the most danger from them.
She clicks her mandibles lightly. "And since our task is to catch them... both of them should be helpful on our journey." Electric-types are fairly rare in the marshes around Libellan territory, but they've acquired a bit of mystique among Libellans because of it. Cecily's already considering the possibilities for her team. "Shall we, then?"

Eli looks rather excited by Cecily's observation. "Natu, really? Great! I've been wanting to add one to my team. Oh, by the way..." He rummages in his pack, before frowning slightly at the somewhat sleepy grumble from Blaze. "Oh alright, if you're going to be like that, you can sleep in your gem." There's a brief flash as he recalls the Cyndaquil, and one of the gems socketed into his bracers has begun to glow like a smoldering coal, held in the jaws of a Typholsion rampant. Prowl, apparently bored of walking as well, recalls himself, and a gem on his opposite arm also begins to glow dimly, a white light held in the paws of a Delphox, as if peering into a crystal ball.
Eli continues to dig into his pack, and finally lets out a triumphant cry. "Ha! Here it is! I'll need to keep this closer at hand from now on..." He pulls out a leather bound tome, its spine reinforced with brass, while the front as a large crystal half-dome affixed to the cover. "I was thinking that perhaps we could compare notes on our mon we do have?" The lightly pulsing gem on the front easily identifies the tome as a Poke Grimoire.

Tarkuul, of course, accepted the elder shaman's request. With her background in the wilds and the journey here to familiarize herself with the greener parts of the world, it shouldn't be too hard...This separated her from the group for a few minutes, but the warden quickly returned to them, catching the tail end of whatever conversation they were having. Something about electric and psychic types; one of them might be a useful partner, if she could gain its respect. She raised a brow as Eli brought out the grimoire; those were rare, and rarely used, in Grodash or any orcish settlements. She supposed the shaman might have one, perhaps the library in the town she stayed in as well, but Tark hadn't really used one before. Ah, well, time to learn. "We could. I know much of Karga and Na'tok's species, and a lesser amount about other frost creatures." Karga heard her name and perked up, then went back to sniffing the ground and looking for any interesting scents. DC for the Tracker check is 14, Karga rolled a 15. Yay, Karga getting into shenanigans!

As you walk down the road to Seers Heights, the trees begin to get thicker, not to the extent that you're walking through a forest, but enough that it's beggining to form small canopies overhead. Your grimoires, or variations thereupon, full now with the information of your fellow's Pokemon. There is chirping, but in the distance. Icarus walks with you, remarking on little bits and pieces, here and there, the colour of a flower, the sound of the river nearby, the want to one day go fishing. Karga twitches her nose at something, pulling a face of disgust at a lingering scent. She turns to Tarkuul and makes suspicious faces at the trees around, and a paw a little while up, as if mentioning there is something in the trees just a little while ahead, something that smell's terrible. You now all share Dex XP, this shouldn't really change anything for the moment, but it's useful to know.

Tarkuul notices Karga acting strangely, and looks around. "Hold on, Karga smells something. Lead the way, girl." Karga pouts as well as a wolf pup can, and reluctantly leads Tark to the source of the scent; even Tark can smell it by now. She investigates the smell's source, prepared for whatever horrible creature lay in wait. The Perception roll was 8.

Eli follows behind curiously, keeping a sharp eye out for anything suspicious as he follows the trackers, one hand on his sword hilt, and all his senses on alert. If a threat presents itself, he's ready. Perception: 17

Libellans are renowned for their sense of sight, not smell. Cecily looks around as she follows the others, but she's got a lot on her mind about how to deal with the new group; she's not quite so focused as she probably should be on this new thing. Still, she releases Praelia as quietly as she can, gesturing for her to be silent as they creep up on the source of this odd smell that Karga has apparently discovered. Praelia sticks her tongue out to display her displeasure, but follows. Yeah, I rolled a 9. No perception for Cecily

Just in the underbrush, a goblin is shocked to be almost suddenly face to... knee of Tarkuul. Obviously shocked that it's excellent hiding place has been rumbled, alongside an equally shocked Rattata. He fumbles for his machete and the Rattata bares teeth just a little too late. As a result, you all get the opportunity to take a turn before combat initially starts. The smell is horrible though, and you realise that he's been waiting here for probably too long for someone to come by. "Amazon, fight!" Icarus brings out an apricorn ball, summoning a Timburr.

Eli unsheathes his sword even as he unleashes Prowl from his gem. "There's something else here too! There, in the bushes!" He indicates a clump of slightly shaking greenery slightly up the path. "I trust you can take the small fry, I'll make sure whatever's there doesn't escape!" Prowl lets out a yowl of agreement, eyes narrowed to slits as his loped towards the indicated spot, Eli close on his heels as the two part the underbrush to find whatever's moving. Eli's speed: 15 Prowl's speed: 15
