You all recall from various sources that the obelisks erected by Djinn can be used as watchtowers of sorts, and that the hole in the middle can conjure up an eye to watch over the land around it. A Djinni bound to one of these towers can see through this eye by closing their own and focusing. The forest behind her teems with an array of life, and even as you begin to step towards it, you can spot Pokemon peering from treetops and under-brush in the distance. A small flock of Natu fly out of the tops and move in the brief formation of an eye, a Xatu in the middle, before settling deeper in the forest. The sound of the river that runs down from the mountains is apparent, a vague trickling just over to the left of you. ǫȍȋȑȔȡLjȉȖȌLjǼȉȚȓȝȝȔLjȉȔțȗLjȚȍȋȉȔȔLjȜȐȉȜLjȜȐȍLjȚȑȜȝȉȔLjȜȐȉȜLjȊȑȖȌțLjȉLjǬȒȑȖȖLjȜȗLjȉȖLjǷȊȍȔȑțȓLjȕȍȉȖțLjȜȐȉȜLjȜȐȍȡLjȋȉȖȖȗȜLjțȜȚȉȡLjȜȗȗLjȎȉȚLjȎȚȗȕLjȑȜǔLjȗȜȐȍȚȟȑțȍLjȜȐȍLjȋȗȖȖȍȋȜȑȗȖǔLjȉȖȌLjȐȍȚLjȔȑȎȍǔLjȟȑȔȔLjȊȍLjțȍȞȍȚȍȌǖǎȖȊțȘǣǤȊȚǦè

Eli's eyes lock onto the flock of Natu, before Prowl gives a small hiss, gaining his attention. "Right, soonest started, soonest done. Let's head in there and see what we can find shall we? And, let's stick together too, in case there's more Goblins hanging about." Squaring his shoulders, Eli heads into the forest, though he does pause to make sure the others are coming along as well.
He keeps a sharp eye out as they advance into the woods, looking for any hints of the Natu, or any mon that may be of interest to him.

Before they venture out into the woods, Cecily swaps her Pokémon - Draconarius as an eye in the sky will be helpful for spotting danger. Besides, he'll get miffed if Praelia gets all the fun. He whirs along above her as they set out; she walks a bit to one side, flanking Eli, to help cover a bit more ground, and just cover them more in general. After all, if there's an ambush, odds are it won't just come from the front, and Cecily's not much good stuck behind everybody else. Though she has to reflect that maybe Draco isn't the best choice, since she is more on the lookout for the Electric-types Eli's information said might be up here. She's plotting team makeups out in her head, and an Electric Pokémon would help take down the Flying-types that would give both Draco and Praelia trouble. "Keep an eye out, Draco," she whispers up to him as her own eyes take in the surrounding woods, searching for signs of wild Pokémon. Though Draco seems a little too caught up in the new environment to really be paying attention... Cecily's Perception: 21! Draco's Perception: ... 6. (Why does Croagunk have better Perception than Yanma anyway?)

Oddly enough, Karga keeps both of her pokemon in their stones. She kept an eye out, but these woods were a bit too chaotic for her taste; finding a Bergmite in an ice floe would be easier. Curse those bushes! Karga's perception is 9. Eye game not stronk enough. :c She did get 2-3-4, though, so that's something.

The forest's trees are spaced out quite well, barely touching on another and first but leaving a lot of room to walk through without having to squeeze through bark or bushes. You keep your eyes out and spot Natu moving now and then, but it's a few minutes before you come across one that's close enough. It eyes the party from a branch, watching to see what they do, before being joined by another couple.
Cecily also notices something else, in the bushes just a little while off, the tail of a Poliwag sticks out. The sound of the water has become a little louder.

Eli slows down, motioning for Prowl to stay back, releasing Blaze as well to sit next to the Meowth. He begins cautiously approaching the Natu, pulling out some of his travel rations, and crumbling them up in his hand as best he could. When he's about teen feet away from the branch, he'll lay down half the pile of rations, then back up to where his team is, keeping eye contact with the Natu he'd first spotted, though it flickers to the others that join it on the branch. "Hello there. I have a proposition for one of you. I would ask that one of you join my group, my flock, as it were. I am about to go on a journey, one that will span the world. I need strong companions, ones that can cover each other's weaknesses, and bolster each other's strengths." He gestures to Prowl and Blaze. "Prowl here has been with me from a young age. Blaze, for a shorter time. But I consider them both good friends, not merely tools or beasts of war. If you're willing, I would like to be friends with one of you as well."Mystic Senses to befriend a Natu: 14

No sign of Electric types so far, but that's a pretty telltale tail there. A Water-type is always a welcome addition to the team, even if it bodes for her to wind up with a team full of frogs. Sounds like a stream nearby, too, which might mean more Pokémon in general. While Eli is negotiating with the Natu, Cecily signals quietly to the others that she's investigating in that direction. She's not sure if the hand gesture for running water made any sense to anybody else, but in any case she starts to creep up on the Poliwag. Cecily's not much of a creeper - she normally goes for the frontal approach, but she likes to think she did pretty well, considering. She pushes the bushes apart, looking for the tail's owner, and winces whenever they rustle. Cecily's Stealth: 6 Literally the best she can do.

Tarkuul lets the others find their pokemon; SURELY they wouldn't need her help with a SINGLE mon, right? Right. She nods to Cecily as the bug lady rustles some bushes, wonders why Eli is talking to a bird, and goes off a little bit on her own to try and find something for herself. pre12.deviantart.net/5550/th/pre/i/2012/236/b/c/zigzagoon_by_frozenquills-d5cbzr3.png Eli - A specific Natu seems to edge forwards, its feathers ruffling a little but it seems curious. The others begin to spread out on the other branches, but with only three of the small creatures any attempts what the other two were trying to do, intimidating or unnerving or otherwise, wasn't as effective. This is even further diminished by the break, as the middle Natu you've attracted the attention of flies down to the floor in front of you, much to the commotion of the others. It bounces up and around you, and the others begin to attack, however this third Natu seems like it'll stand with you. Cecily - The bushes rustle just a little bit but if the Poliwag notices, it doesn't make much of a fuss about it. Instead, it seems focused on a different goal you can see now, that of attempting to shoot down berries with bursts of water, but the little one's aim is a little off, and it keeps missing the berries or just glancing them. It stomps its feet a few times with each attempt. Tiny rainbows shimmer in the air around its frustration. As you watch, the water hits the tree once more, but instead of the berries it hits... something in between, and the branches shake. The Poliwag seems unaware of this, however, annoyed the berry still hasn't come down. Tarkuul - A little while off to the right, you begin to find some markings low on the trees. Scratchings, initially maybe made from claws but as you look them over you see a great many markings close together on a single tree trunk. It's as if a Pokemon with some rough spines or bristles has rubbed up against them. Following small paw prints along the way you find the culprit, a Zigzagoon that's darting around, curiously sniffing at everything, up to and including another Pokemon right before your eyes. It runs head first into a Stunky, who lets loose a burst of gas in shock and turns around. The Zigzagoon is surprised and confused and the Stunky focuses on you, as if the Zigzagoon is with you. Icarus the Warforged ends up walking off himself, looking for a Pokemon of his own.

Okay, the foot-stomping Poliwag is... actually rather cute. Cecily clamps her mandibles shut to keep herself from laughing, which would probably only annoy the little tadpole on top of alerting it to her presence. She focuses in on the rainbows curiously. There seems to be something blocking the Poliwag's shot... Now, what could be doing that? She beckons Draco to land on her shoulder so she can whisper to him. "Do you see the berries he's aiming at? I think there's something in front of them... see if you can shove it off the branch." Her best guess is that some Pokémon that can make itself invisible is sitting there messing with the Poliwag. Of course, there's another option, too. If the source of the Poliwag's frustration isn't actually in the tree, it's probably nearby projecting a force field of some kind. Cecily starts looking around for signs of another Pokémon nearby while Draco circles around stealthily, then whirs forward like an arrow at the distortion in the air from another angle to try and knock it down. Cecily's Perception to see if there's another Pokémon nearby: 9 Draco's Stealth to sneak up on whatever's blocking the berries: 11 Draco's Athletics to tackle the blocker off the branch: ... 3.

Eli's smile at having one of the Natu decide to join him was quickly dimmed as its fellows moved to attack. He dumps the rations in his hands to the side, drawing his blade in the face of their aggression. "I don't want to hurt you, but I will defend myself and my friends, old and new. Blaze, you're up. Prowl, return!" Prowl gives a grumbling growl, but returns himself to his gem, while Blaze finally seems to fully wake up. The little Cyndaquil rushes forward, sliding to a stop at Eli's side, and loosing a high wavering battlecry, before igniting his flames with a dull whumph. Eli glances at the other Natu that's stood beside him. "I won't force you to fight your friends; I can put you into a gem like Prowl so you don't have to."Eli's speed: 15 Blaze's Speed: 11+4 from Agility Training = 15

...Why did Tark always have to find the stinky ones? Typical. She sighed and knelt down, touching her hand o the ground. A familiar, chilly mist rolled in and covered the area, making things seem so spooky. "No reason to lose your cool over getting bumped into." She commented, though she had a feeling the Stunky wouldn't really see things her way. Ah, well. Tark used Mist and failed miserably at a Charm roll, only getting 5(unless bad puns and dramatic timing give bonuses). She's also not using her pokemon for the fight. Tark's Speed: 11

Tarkuul - The mist comes in slowly, spreading out around you. Some of the mist seems to cling to you in a way that might seem odd to outsiders but familiar to you. The Zigzagoon rolls around on the floor covering it's face from the poisonous gas that hadn't even come close to hitting you. It dashes forwards, ignoring the small runt and heading straight towards you, letting out a loud Screech as it does so. Cecily - Draco manages to get up the tree without being noticed at all by either the Poliwag or the unknown creature in the tree which suddenly comes into view, a small Cherubi glimpses out and looks annoyed, as well as wet, by the tomfoolery occurring It begins to jump down just as Draco bursts out. The appearance of the Yanma causes panic, and the Poliwag lets loose a stream of Bubbles at it. The Cherubi looks annoyed, and as it hits the floor, the sun seems to shine a little more, it's become a Sunny Day. Eli - You watch a heated discussion in the language of Pokemon occur between the Natu before one of them locks eyes on Eli, letting off a powerful stare, it's eyes sheen with a sudden dark purple and you feel something snap inside you, as Night Shade hits you. The other two Natu, both the one on your side and the other one fighting, seem locked in a combat of their own. The Stunky uses Screech on Tarkuul, 19. Mist can apply, obviously. The Poliwag uses Bubble on Draco, AC 12, 18 Water Special Damage. The Cherubi uses Sunny Day. This extends over the battlefield to also include Eli and Tarkuul. The Natu uses Nightshade, AC 11, 7 Ghost Damage. Do not apply Defenses/weaknesses/etc.
Eli also put speeds but didn't act and is free to do so.

"Blaze, show our new friend that on this team you never fight alone! Ember!" Blaze gives a cry as he spits a wad of flames at the Natu that's not focusing on Eli, the exhortation of his trainer giving him even more speed. The attack strikes true, just shy of being able to inflict a painful burn upon the Natu. As the ember hits, Eli celebrates momentarily... and it costs him as the other Natu turns its now glowing gaze upon him. Eli staggers slightly under the ghostly assault. "Gah! Okay, that tears it! Blaze, another Ember!" He follows up the command with a fire attack of his own, spitting flame towards the Natu that was attacking him. Eli's attack hit squarely, the plume of fire bursting into a star-pattern that scorched the Natu next to it. Blaze's own strike though, came across too fast; his own overconfidence and speed working together against him. Unless the Natu was completely unable to dodge for some reason, it would likely miss. Eli uses Agility Training - Orders, Blaze's speed increases to 19, +1 to movement.
Blaze uses Ember AC 2: 16 27 Special Fire Damage
Eli takes 7 points of damage. Eli uses Flame Burst. AC 2: 11 Special Fire Damage: 22, cardinally adjucent targets take 5 points of damage.
Blaze uses Ember. Speed reverts to 15, -1 to movement capabilities. AC 2: 2 Special Fire Damage: 24

Well, that... explains quite a bit. Cecily winces a little as Draco smacks into the Cherubi and is immediately hit by that blast of bubbles; Draco himself makes a very displeased noise at finding himself soaked, whirring his wings threateningly in the Poliwag's direction. Cecily steps out of the bushes toward the tree, bringing herself into view. "Well, this is a bit awkward. Come on, Draco, don't just stand there buzzing - do something about it! Silver Wind!"Draco's facial expression is somewhere close to what passes for Cecily's grin - he zeroes in on the Poliwag and more or less does a strafing run over it, the downdraft from his wings spraying his target with silvery dust. Draco's Speed: 15; Cecily's Speed: 10 Draco's Standard: Silver Wind on Poliwag Accuracy roll 13 on AC 2; 31 Special Bug-type damage Draco's Speed Boost raises his Speed by +1 CS; Draco's Speed is now 18 Cecily's Standard: Focused Training on Draco.

The mist swirled around her as the Screech neared, the sound dissipating harmlessly. Tark shifted her stance subtly, ready to move at a moment's notice, but held her ground. Wishing to end this quickly, she raised a hand towards the Stunky and formed a gust of powdery snow that swept over the pokemon, clinging and freezing to its fur. Hopefully that would stop it, even with the sun beating down. Tark used Powder Snow; AC 2, rolled 19, inflicts Frozen condition on the Stunky. 21 Ice Special damage. Flutter was also activated, but not really needed now. >_>
Mist: 2/3 uses left

Eli - After an assault of fire, the singed and angry Natu swoop around vaguely, coming closer to you and Blaze, the true cause for potential betrayal of one of their own. Another sheen on the eyes of one focuses on the both of you, but this one seems to Leer at you. Whilst that distracts, the other dives in and Pecks Blaze. The other Natu on your side comes around and attempts something unseen by the two of you, which misses. The Natu do look like they've taken heavy blows due to the flames that licked at them. Cecily - The Poliwag is struck by the Silver Wind a fair amount, almost stumbling back. It grumbles, the swirls on it's chest moving slightly as a stream of Bubbles are fired back at Draco. Near the tree, the still bothered Cherubi Grows in size, getting ready for something. Tarkuul - The Stunky keeps running forward, despite a slight confusion that Tarkuul seems unaffected by its cry, but before it can gain any ground, the snow smacks it in the legs, chilling up its fur and overcoming it. It's frozen in place! It struggles but it's largely ineffective. The Zigzagoon lets out a small cheer and runs around Tarkuul's legs, but despite being frozen, the Stunky doesn't seem out of the fight just yet. Leer AC 16 against Eli and Blaze. Peck AC 12 against Blaze, 19 Flying Physical Damage. Bubble AC 13 against Draco, 22 Water Special Damage. Cherubi used Growth. A Frozen Stunky.

"Hey, back off!" Eli surges forward at the one that just pecked Blaze, coming in from the side to box it in swinging his blade with the flat out. While he's not looking to kill or maim, he can still do plenty of damage with the sword, aiming to strike the joint between the wing and the torso. While not crippling, it would surely hurt quite a bit. As soon as Eli strikes, Blaze skitters away from the bird in his face, and takes aim at the Leering Natu that's menacing both him and his trainer, before belching another gob of flames at the psychic avian. Eli shifts to engage the Pecking Natu Eli uses Wounding Strike, spent 1 AP, Flanking AC 2: 6 - target looses tick of hitpoints if it connects Normal Physical Damage: 21
Blaze disengages backwards, takes no AoO due to Run Away Blaze uses Ember AC 2: 7 Special Fire Damage: 29

Tarkuul can't help but chuckle at the furball's excitement, even as she draws her sword. "It's not over yet, little one. Stay behind me when the ice breaks." She advised, keeping her stance loose and sword at her side. That sunlight was certainly weakening the ice, and it wouldn't be long until the Stunky could break free. Might as well prepare for close combat while she could. Tarkuul draws her short sword with a standard action and re-activates Flutter with her shift.

Draco veers off from the cloud of bubbles, but not enough to avoid getting hit. There's something uneven about the hum of his wings now, and Cecily winces at the sound, her own wings buzzing in sympathy as she recognizes the noise of one of them getting fouled up. "Get him away, Draco! Tackle!" Draco dives at the Poliwag in response, hitting it full-force and hoping to knock it silly. Meanwhile, the Cherubi hasn't escaped her notice. Cecily darts around the conflict nimbly to zero in on it for herself. "Oh no you don't!" She doesn't bother with her lance for this; in fact she lashes out with a kick, raking the plant with the predatory claws on her foot. Apparently Libellans still have those. Draco used Tackle on Poliwag! Accuracy 4 on AC 2; 26 Physical Normal damage and Pushed 2 meters Cecily used Fell Stinger on Cherubi! Accuracy 11 on AC 2; 17 Physical Bug damage
