"You know who she is so don't feign ignorance." Floyd says annoyed. "If we all talk this out like rational people nothing bad needs to happen."

"I'm sorry, but I'm afraid I can't help you." He replies. "Now, I'm not trying to be unreasonable here, but you did break in so I'm going to have to ask you to leave. I am not a fighter. I don't even own a Pokemon myself. I'm just the 'door guy' so to speak. If you attack me, it won't do anything for you."

"I can't remember the way out, so me leaving will involve punching a new hole in your secret illegal underground lair and letting you drown." Floyd responds in the same tone of voice. "Of course if this is a legitimate place of business you'll be able to tell me the name of the business and explain why the embezzlement and theft of intellectual property needed to sew it up is no big deal."

The man seems to resist the urge to roll his eyes at 'don't remember where the exit is' and instead focuses on the other half of Floyd's comment. "How do you know this place is illegal at all, Mr. Floyd? How do you know that there is any sort of 'embezzlement/theft of intellectual' property going on? I mean, it's not like I can prove it's not, as I said: I'm just the 'door guy'. A glorified receptionist for our scientists working down here and any visitors from the outside. So I ask again: 'what proof have you of illegal actions'? If you can convince me that the people signing my paychecks (small as they may be) are doing something illegal, then I'll let you pass." He scoffs. "Though it's not as if I could realistically stop you three anyhow."

Right in this very moment Jane really wished all her (magically poofed) friends hadn't been so obsessed with nicknames and pseudonyms. If they hadn't she'd actually been able to ask ... To think of it, this really wasn't how she had imagined the lair of that imp to look like. Bleh. Better focus on what was in front of her. Jane fixed on the doorman. He really didn't appear trustworthy.
"You still haven't said who's employing you. And, you know, 'no-one' hasn't paid their taxes this year! But I'm sure you'll tell us right?" Jane softens her expression and approaches the desk slowly. She does her best to appear harmless (not that hard) and without any suspicious intent (this one could be trouble. Good thing she had practice!). Now if she could try and find any silent alarm on the desk, which no doubt would have been pressed, or an ID card on the stooge that'd be swell.

Mr. "Stooge" has no visible forms of ID that Jane can find. When she approaches, however, his eyes snap to her. "I'll kindly ask you to stay back with your friends, Miss. The only reason security isn't here already throwing you out is because all you've done is breaking and entering. If you take one step past my desk, you will be trespassing on private property, and security will be forced to intervene. As for taxes, that's not my department."
He doesn't specifically seem to deem Jane as a threat (at least compared to the loudmouth and the guy with a literal axe on his back), and his tone is firm, but "gentle". He's clearly trying to persuade Jane to, at the very least, not put herself in harm's way if "security" comes by.

Kaeda glares a hole through this dude, and speaks through gritted teeth. "Look, I really don't care. I don't care who you are, or what your situation is. We came here with the intent of doing more than just breaking and entering. You also earned yourself an ass beating, just tell us where Lia Regal is, and call security. Because, this place, and whoever is in it is done for as far as I'm concerned."

The man types on his computer again briefly. "There is no record of anyone by that name at this location. Not that I'm surprised, of course. No names are ever recorded unless they're employees or registered guests."

Kaeda nods curtly. "Then I guess we'll have to take a look ourselves then....Hm. Actually...Let us see that computer. It just might show us a bit more about this place."

The man calmly complies, turning the screen around for the others to see. He looses a nearly inaudible sigh of relief when the angry, psychic rich girl doesn't, say, fry his brains right then and there. Right now, it displays a map of the complex, which is surprisingly small (or surprisingly big, based on perspective). It's only about half a kilometer long in any direction. Of course, none of the rooms are actually labeled, but it stands to reason that the larger rooms would be "important" in some way.

Kaeda lets the others check out the info on the computer, and her eyes shift back to the pathetic doorman. She tries to have a look into his head about what he might know. Kaeda also tries a new trick. Perhaps leaving a suggestion for the man to just come clean as to where hybrids/ or top secret stuff was being held within the facility. Suggestion: "Target: Pokémon or Trainers Effect: You smoothly plant a thought into the subject’s head that lasts as long as this Feature is Bound. They won’t know exactly why or how they thought of it; they will naturally assume they thought of it themselves, and their brain will attempt to get there as logically as it can. The target may not necessarily act on the Suggestion, especially if it is against their nature. Using Suggestion to plant a specific thought may cause the target to think about a specific subject, dredging up surface thoughts related to the matter. Using this on a target leaves discoverable psychic residue. You may only use Suggestion as long as you have the Telepathy Capability, though you may keep it Bound without having Telepathy active." 6d6

Kaeda's suggestion only ends up confusing the guy. He has no idea what a 'hybrid' is, or why he started thinking about it. This train of thought seems to distract him from thinking about anything else for a time. Seems this guy literally knows nothing useful except that security is waiting for the group further in.

"Well this isn't very helpful." Jane mumbles but quickly snap an image of the map with her dex. Unlabelled grunt-tier map was still probably better then no map. Then she took a bit of her rope out of her bag and offered to receptionist. "We 'invaders' - though vigilantes feel better really - did tie you up and forced you to share all this. Right? Right."
She'd feel slightly better about the receptionist if he was incapacitated. Both for his future job prospects and her own piece of mind. Plus the chance that he would do anything to cause her volatile new friends to do something regretful was probably lower if he could do no sudden movements.

"We could take him hostage. A legitimate organisation would be invested in their employees, so threatening one in front of others should get us answers." Floyd suggests, grabbing the man and hauling him away from the computer. "Or you could just tell me the name of the company you work for and you won't have to worry about any concussions from me or injuries from any coworkers that decide that your life doesn't matter."

The man sighs. "Look, all I can tell you is that my paychecks are signed by 'Saffron Genetics'. Anything more and I risk my job. Not that I really have anything super-secret to tell you in the first place, but you see my point, yes?"

After what seemed like getting blood from a stone, this doorman was deemed useless. Kaeda turned to the others. "Come on. We've wasted enough time here. Time to tear up this place, and search every square inch for Lia."

Storming past the useless 'doorman', Kaeda finds herself at a crossroads in the hall not 5 minutes later. Her options are to go left, right, or straight ahead. Of course, she could always split the party too.

"Oh why can't evil lairs label their corridors?" Jane sighs and looks around. She tried to see if there were any hints as to what lead where. Signs, coffee stains or anything else?

"Hmm. Oh I know!" Jane look like she had an idea and released her flareon Fluffy. Then she dug trough her backpack but that turned out disappointing. "I didn't happen to have anything belonging to my friends on me... Do you have anything from your friend? Fluffy here might be able to pick up their scent!"
(Fluffy tracks on 4d6+8 dice. The DC to track someone if you have one of their items is only 8. Otherwise it's 20. Usually - and assuming there even is a scent here!)5d6+1

Even if someone has something of Lia's to pick up a scent from, the entire place smells faintly of cleaning supplies. Very sterile, and only unknown scents to pick up that could be anyone, but are likely security guards or workers that passed through within the past few hours.

"Hmm. Not much it seems ... Maybe we should just go with the most recent scent and assume that's more likely to lead into the areas where people are and not just a bunch of storage closets?"
