"Do feel free to call again sometime...your mother will be pleased to hear your voice again." There is a brief, awkward silence before he says goodnight and ends the call.

Lia hangs up, briefly considers 'again' why she called, but at least that bridge wasn't fully burned. Maybe singed a little. Lia sends a quick text to Kaeda.
Everything ok? You said you'd be right back but it's been like two hours...
After sending that off, she lays over and waits for her to get back.

Kaeda doesn't text while flying like a smart person. She does see it when she is back home, and just heads on into their room. "Hey. I'm back. Sorry for being gone so long."

Lia looks away.

Lia 'knows' where she probably went but wants to see if she'll actually admit to it or not. She looks down to her bruised self.
"Didn't happen to get any ice, did you?"

Kaeda rubs her arm. "To be honest, I tried to find Nalkeya. Going to say the meanest, hate-filled stuff, but she's hard to find. A nasty letter slipped under the door, and her stupid badge to go along with it is fine....for now...Oh. Your parents?" KAeda goes to grab their ice packs, and brings them back to Lia. She gets onto the bed beside Lia, and applies the packs. "Sooo...How was that awkward conversation?"

Floyd follows Atropa, poking her when she ignores him.
"How long did finding and mastering the mega evolution take you? Calyx was in perfect control the first time, but that's clearly not normal." He asks, fully intending to get a second proper conversation with his sister in before leaving to continue training.

Lia winces hard and nearly seizes up when the ice makes contact. After a moment the shock of the cold on her bruised body leaves and then it's nice.
"Figured that's where you went. You shouldn't have gone though, she's not really at fault. Just a really shitty thing that pushed me over the edge. And you didn't have to give her your badge, either..."
Lia pauses for a moment.
"The conversation was real awkward. It was my dad, so the one I punched. He asked me how everything was and I told him the truth. He tried to give me a pep talk and then when I wouldn't he did like you and asked where the old Lia went. And then threatened to disown me but I think that was shock. Or at least he said that it was."

Lately, I've been interested in Eevee's malleable genetic make-up and the evolution possibilities it presents, but really, I wouldn't really call what I do much research. I don't have my resume on me, but I can certainly send one once I return home." One had to wonder how she breathed... Though, maybe she didn't need to and could simply sustain herself on pure excitement.
