Floyd walks in and blink at the sight of Eve smushing her pokemon's faces together before coughing.
"You said you wanted to see me?" He asks.

Look. It was an unconventional method, but that was what the book Eve had borrowed said to do... She should probably borrow another book.
"Ah, Floyd! You exist!" Eve cheerily greeted, "And righty-o. I found a steel type you might be interested in." Cue some shuffling around to get the right Pokeball and then out came the Bronzor. "It's a Bronzor. I figured it was a good Pokemon. I mean, considering it's not an Eevee and all."

Floyd nods, studying the green-blue pokemon and smiling before looking at Eve.
"If you don't want him, I'd be happy to take him off of your hands. But you should consider utilising him yourself. Bronzor have few weaknesses and can be very capable in battle."
He says.

"Urgh... Do you think I should?" Eve hesitated as she looked over the Bronzor. "I know it'd be amazing for the poison gym and all, but... but... It's not an Eevee. Isn't that cheating?"

"Using a particular pokemon is only cheating if it is against the rules. There are no rules against expanding your team to address your weaknesses.' Floyd says, surprised by Eve's reaction. "And you will be required to fight yourself. Not only is this Bronzor immune to the toxins of the gym, it is capable of protecting you and your Eevees against the poison while enduring any amount of punishment thrown its way."

"Actually, I have yet to fight in a gym myself. I have the sneaking suspicion that they know I'm a Prism and don't want me to Hyper Beam holes into their perfectly good walls. But still! It's just... erm... urghm.... Ugh, I guess I did use Letty quite a bit..." Eve had to admit, though in a roundabout way, that Floyd was right. Not liking that her argument was overturned so quickly, she pursed her lips and poked her fingers together. "It's just, I started this journey to research and show off Eevees... but... I've failed at that from the very beginning so... I guess..." Eve stared at the Bronzor. The Bronzor stared back at Eve. Realizing Bronzor lookeed sort of like a mirror, Eve muttered, "If I Hyper Beamed you, would you be able to reflect it to another target?" The Bronzor sweat dropped... or whatever it was floating steel discs did to express when they felt uncomfortable.

Floyd falls silent, looking down as he think before talking.
I can't tell you give up on your goals. If the purpose of your journey is to excel with the Eevee species then you should do exactly that, trying again and again until you succeed no matter how hard it becomes. That's what I've done. He says, remembering his experiences at Pewter, Cerulean and Vermilion gyms. But a team of four eevees with two non-eevees for support is still mostly eevees. And While an eevee can become any type through evolution, they rarely become extremely versatile. Your Floette, this Bronzor, perhaps another one or two pokemon could act as gap fillers, protecting you from the weaknesses of the Eevee line or complimenting their strengths. After all, my goal was to excel with my steel type pokemon. And my many pokemon that aren't steel typed have proven themselves invaluable, over and over again while never truly betraying my goal. He says, falling silent without meeting Eve's eyes.

Eve was absolutely stunned. This was the first time she'd heard him say so much at once. She actually didn't know that was possible for him.
Beneath the comical surprise, however, Eve treated Floyd seriously, and her mouth was dumbfoundedly open for only a whole minute before she pushed it shut with a hand. Once her mouth closed, she actually looked pensive, mulling about with the advice. That was when she, who was lost in her thoughts, noticed that Floyd wasn't meeting her eyes. Was she causing trouble for him? Did she make him worry? She hadn't wanted that. She didn't want to bother others and make trouble for them, and while she didn't know why she would be making trouble for Floyd right now, he certainly looked bothered in Eve's opinion.
"Thank you, Floyd," Eve sought to quickly wrap up the conversation, so that Floyd wouldn't have to feel awkward for any longer, "You're... right about me, sort of. I'm taking a year off from college for this Pokemon journey just so I can better understand and study the Eevee line. That's all I'm really interested in. Even Letty, my Florges, was pretty much a Pokemon I was forced to pick and raise, but I bet you didn't expect that with how much I rely on her now, huh? Um... Anyways... Maybe... you're right. Maybe I should use other Pokemon... I don't know. It seems so contradictory to my goals, and it's not like I care how many times I lose, aside from all the suffering my Pokemon have to go through every fight. Even still, though, I think I'm starting to see what you're saying... in a different sort of way. Hm... I'll need to think on it, but thank you for the advice."

Floyd blinks at how Eve admits that her journey is far more casual than his, but says nothing as she continues.
"Thinking about such things is all I ask."
He says before bidding her farewell and moving for his bed.

After a wonderful night with Kaeda, Lia wakes up in the ranch and heads to breakfast. She's mostly healed by this point, and certainly tomorrow she's probably able to challenge a gym again. But today is the last day for her work week. And she still has no idea how to really help and seeing that her huge donation barely make a dent in the total was... disheartening. Maybe someone at work came up with something? She just eats her breakfast in thought while waiting for the others.

Kaeda joins Lia for breakfast. She gives her a kiss on her cheek, and sits next to her. "Hey, babe. Still got work today? I don't think I have anything to do today."

Kaeda nods, and enjoys her breakfast. "That's fine. I'll be taking it easy to day, and prepare for tomorrow. Oh! Almost forgot." Kaeda writes her check for $15000, and hands it to Lia. "Here is a bit more for the gym. Hopefully I can get some more today."

Kaeda giggles, and gives her a hug. "No problem, hun." KAeda pats her on the back, and gets up. "Welp. I'll be heading out to earn some more of that money then. I'll be home when I'm done then." With a big parting kiss, KAeda takes off into town to challenge locals to battles.

Eve heard the news last night, so when she gets up in the morning, she sets about doing what she can to help, which in this case meant playing with pretty rocks! Seriously, though, she makes a Water Stone for Kaeda as requested and then spends the rest of her time crafting a Rainbow Gem. After that, she's forced to let her crafting kit cool down... or whatever it was that kept her from using it more times in one day.
By now, a good portion of the day had already gone by, and even more after she got in some training and ate some lunch. What would she do with the rest of the day? Gamble in fighting against trainers to earn some cash? Hunt for more Eevee? Get eaten by Victreebel?

Floyd spends almost all of the next 3 days at the Saffron gym,attending boxing lessons, sparring against his pokemon, battling other trainers and familiarizing himself with gym equipment. On the third day he arrives back at the ranch with a backpack full of cash to give to Lia (35,000P)
