"I mean I don't do anything physical at work. I might get some looks being bruised as hell in my swimsuit but... Well I only care about my looks in terms of her."
Lia gestures to Kaeda.
"Plus the water might do me some good if I swim around."

"Just make sure to take it easy, hun." KAeda sits down to enjoy her own warm breakfast. "Got any plans, Eve? Lia has work, I'm probably heading back to Celadon, and Floyd is...doing things? What are going to be doing?"

"Mmm," Eve replies, not really sure about what else to say when the person hurt seemed so nonchalant about the pain, so she was glad when Kaeda moved along the conversation. "I think I'm going to head to one of the cities myself. Get myself a trim and see if I can trade one of the Pokemon I caught for an Eevee. I mean, to be honest, I don't know why anyone would ever trade their Eevee away, but hey, maybe I'll get lucky."

"Morning, everyone!" She says cheerfully as she coils up next to the table to socialize.
"Liiiitwiiiickk!" The candle echoes.

After a while of eating and chatting. Lia gets up.
"Ok jokers, I gotta go see if I'm still employed or not. So I'm out. If ya'll are trying something today, good luck. I'll be resting my body in the cool waters."
Lia gives a wink and turns to leave.

Kaeda grabs Lia's arm, spins her back around, and gives her a nice big kiss. "Trying to split without a proper goodbye for me? I don't think so." She gives her a hug, and another kiss. "I'm also heading out to Celadon again. Trying for that badge. I'll see you all later." Kaeda waves, and leaves the house with Lia.

Eve slipped her dishes into the sink and slipped away as the couple did their couple thing. To Saffron it was for her to get a quick trim and try and trade some 'mons.

Once she's out, she makes her way into Cerulean, and it really only hits Lia at this point that maybe she shoulda called ahead.
Ooops.
She shrugs and makes her way to the gym hoping no massive changes have happened since she left initially.

Thankfully, everything is just as Lia left it before the boat trip. Well, not everything. The Gym is still intact and all, and all the usual folks are there, but the atmosphere seems dampened. When asked what's with all the mopey faces, one of your fellow Gym Trainers says that Alei has been 'called in for review' by the League (aka the Champion), which is a nice way of saying she's probably getting canned soon. They just received their two-week notice a couple days ago.

Once Lia finds out about that, she goes to check on the Boss herself. For one, she's gotta check in and let her know that she's back (Aka Sasha has them again so it's fine), and to find more about what the hell is going on.

Alei is in her office, going through mounds of paperwork as she attempts to find a loophole with which to keep her job.. or something. She's so busy she can't properly welcome Lia back, though she does do a double-take when she sees how beat up Lia is.

Lia gives a pained wave. She's not sure how else to say 'hi' in this situation. She approaches the desk.
"Heya Boss. So I'm back, as you can see. Got our Mega Stones, so that's cool. But I'm back and ready to work. And... well if a certain boss said 'Hey Lia, there's some office clerk who's a bit spineless go scare them so I can keep my job cause I'm one of the couple NICE gym leaders', then I wouldn't mind."
Lia sits down across the desk.
"Jokes asid- Well. Half-jokes. I mean you give the word and your loyal soldier will go out and do it. But that aside, what the hell happened? I mean I saw the last 'judgement' when Lilith walked in here like she owned the damn place, but from what I understand that's only a once in a while sorta thing? It hasn't even been like two months since the last one!"

"Some League bigwig (pencil-pushing type) seems to think my Gym is not meeting its quota for something or other, so they're putting me up for 'review'. As far as I know, this is unrelated to Champion Lilith's 'check-ins'. Not sure who the hell thinks they're making a name for themselves by picking on my Gym (which is already on thin ice by the Champion's standards), but everything is official, unfortunately, and not some elaborate practical joke." She laughs hollowly. "Believe me when I say I wish I could just 'suggest' that you could help out by 'having a nice chat' with this pencil-pushing asshat, but somehow I dont' think that'd work."

The problem is, it's so wrapped up in legal jargon that I can't make heads nor tails of any of this. You might be thinking 'oh, well, higher an attorney to help you figure it out'. See, I would, but attorneys in the private sector are absurdly expensive to make up for the few that exist who deal in League-related issues. It's all one big clusterfuck."

I've heard rumblings that your fellow Gym Trainers have started an internal fundraiser for getting an attorney to help sort out this legal mess we've found ourselves in, or even to pay for buying the entire plot of land if we can manage that and going Independent vs League-Regulated. Of course, that comes with its own set of problems and costs, but it's still something of an option. The two main options, attorney vs going independent, end up costing about the same at the start, though becoming independent also requires a number of other things that I don't have time to get into right now." She manages a weak smile. "The best thing you can do for me right now is to go get started on the job I hired you for."
