Lia looks upset as she's told that. "Well dang! Poor little dude. Well I'd be happy to train it to be strong, I'm doing my journey and got two badges already, as well as I got a job in the Cerulean gym as a gym trainer, so it'd get plenty of water. Not to mention when it's not with me I've purchased a ranch on the river near Cerulean with some friends of mine, a ranch I basically live in when I have to go to work, so it won't get ignored."Lia proceeds to go into a bit of detail to show she'd be perfectly capable to take care of the poison type, with it's specific needs and everything. "What's her name?" Floyd asks, looking at the Eevee before he approaches it.

Lia easily convinces the employee of her qualifications for caring for the Croagunk. They gladly allow her to adopt it, and bring her to the main room to fill out paperwork and deal with fees and such. Croagunk is Female, level 11, Quirky, with Dry Skin FloydThe employee points out a tag/sign on the cage that gives basic details about the Eevee. She's called 'Alisa' around here, and has been with the shelter for several years, slowly eating less and less as time passes. They fear she soon will stop eating altogether if they can't get through to her and convince her that life is worth living after all. That's all assuming, of course, that their diagnosis is accurate. It's always difficult to tell.

"Oh Umbra? Turns out he prefers haunting the ranch to fighting, so I've left him there to mingle with the other Pokemon." Vincent answered Floyd earlier, before following him into the adoption center.
In the shelter, Vincent weaves through the people and keeps an eye out for any Dark type Pokemon. It's not uncommon that Dark-types are found to be too aggressive to handle and are sent away.

While Vince doesn't find any dark types in his browsing, he does find an odd little Pokemon sitting all by itself in a little cave enclosure. Turns out it's a Dunsparce. Of all the odd things...

Vincent looks at the Dunsparce. He's not sure if the Dunsparce is looking back at him or staring right through him. He can almost feel a shudder coming on. He decides to move on quickly. Perhaps nothing in this place is particularly suited for him.

Floyd frowns at the lack of information provided and approaches Alisa, recalling Daisy as he does.
"Hi there." He says simply and holds his hand out to the pokemon.
"The people here think your story is pretty sad. And you certainly look sad. But I'm betting there's more to it than that. Are you waiting for someone? Because I know what it's like when they aren't coming back."
He says gently

Floyd
Alisa the Eevee sniffs his hand, but just lays her head back down when it becomes obvious he has nothing in it. There seems to be very little light left in the poor creature's eyes. She is so skinny, even for an Eevee, and her fur, while well-looked after by the shelter employees, looks thin in places. Her eyes seem unfocused, as if her mind is off in some far away place and time.
Vincent
You quickly move away from the Soul Devourer Dunsparce and continue walking the halls, looking at the various Pokemon in their pens/cages. You can't shake the feeling that something is watching you still..but are quickly distracted when you see a Scraggy trying to sneak extra food into its "pants".

Vincent acts immediately, moving closer to the Scraggy. "Hey, leave that food alone. I'm sure you can do better than sneaking away with extra food. Have you ever battled? Isn't it more fun, and more satisfying than eating an extra meal you don't need? Especially since you don't have to do it all alone, with nobody knowing of your skill. I can show you what it's like to battle for real. How about it?"

The Scraggy is startled by your sudden appearance, and runs off, leaving the food behind.

Vincent stands there for a moment, surprised. Why did it run away? He wonders. If it's brave enough to steal food, surely it should be brave enough to stand up to me or something, right? Or maybe I expected too much from it... Maybe I should talk to the staff about this Pokemon. And that's exactly what Vincent does. As soon as he finds a member of staff, he asks, "I just saw a Scraggy trying to steal some extra food. I'm kinda interested in it, is there anything you can tell me about it?"

Kaeda is happy with her new partner, and goes around to see how the others are doing. She spots Floyd near a pokemon, and goes over to him. "Hello there, Floyd. Who do you have here, hm? *gasp* Is that an Eevee!? How cute! Hm? Is it sleepy?"

"She's half starved and sad all the time or something." Floyd says with a frown, straightening up and looking Kaeda in the eye.
"You can read minds right? You could find out whats wrong with her and how we could try and fix it?"

Kaeda blinks, and then taps her chin. "Why yes I do. Hmmm. I'll see what I can do." She takes a seat near the Eevee, and can now see it looks rather weak. "Oh my...Poor baby..." Kaeda focuses on the Eevee, and tries to read its thoughts.

Vince
The employee looks thoughtful for a moment. "Ah yes, we call her Sandy. She's bold enough when she thinks nobody sees her, but if you confront her she'll run away. Of course, usually that's just a front. Sandy is quite the tricky little Pokemon, and often ambushes other Pokemon after luring them into a trap with the extra food. We've tried to correct this behavior by rewarding her when she is nice to other Pokemon, but it doesn't ever seem to have stuck."
Kaeda/Floyd
Gently probing the Eevee's mind, you are nearly overwhelmed by feelings of despair and loneliness. Its memories seem to indicate that it was owned and raised by an aging Pokemon Ranger that lived near the edge of Lavender Swamp. One day, the Ranger entered the swamp like usual, but never returned. It waited weeks, then months for its beloved companion to return; to no avail. That was when some people from the shelter arrived. They were nice, sure, but they couldn't fill the void left in its heart by its owner's disappearance. It's been long enough now that it knows its human must have died in that swamp, else he would have come for it by now. Due to this, it is slowly giving up hope of ever being happy again and longs to join its friend in the Beyond.

A few tears well up in Kaeda's eyes, and she gently pets the Eevee. She looks at Floyd. "It seems this poor thing lived with an elderly ranger. One day they did not return home from the Lavender swamp. It's been feeling alone like this for a long time, and still misses its owner. She's loosing the will to go on..."
Kaeda continues to pet the sad creature. "I wonder how we can help this one...I haven't got a name or anything...Is there anyone we could talk to so we could find who her owner was?"

Floyd frowns at the story then blinks as something occurred to him.
"Well, we were meant to let those rangers know about the weird Sableye things we found in Rock Tunnel. They could probably help us - not going to be too many elderly rangers in lavender town to hear about."

Kaeda gasps in surprise as she remembers having the contact info for the rangers. "Floyd, you are a genius! Ok, sweetheart, we are coming back for you. Don't you worry." She pets the Eevee a bit more, and gets up to join Floyd. She goes to a phone, and calls the rangers.

Lia, seeing that the others are busy, decides to step outside with Brunhilda, her new Croagunk, in tow. She switches around her team to have Avitus (Aerodactyl), Cie(Roselia), and Ply (Larvesta); and then releases them all.
"Alright, I got a whole new team of bandmates here, so lets get intros out of the way."
Avitus seems to be eyeing Ply hungrily, who in turn seems to be scaring Cie away with the sheer heat and not paying attention at all. Brunhilda seems to be the only one listening 100%, just glad to have someone trying to make her stronger so what happened to her doesn't happen again. Lia facepalms.
"Man that dude traded me a fire bug waaay too strong for me. Alright, we'll deal with you later, just don't burn the ranch down plox."
Lia returns her and sends her to the ranch, leaving the other three. Scier floats by her masters side as Lia addresses the newcomers. She first turns to Avitus.
"So from what I remember them telling me, ya tried to eat Vincent. And I don't remember him using you yet so I doubt your really 'game' yet for this whole 'being trained' thing, right? I'm really hoping I can change that. A strong dude like yourself has got to respect strength, right? Well just so you know I've fought big stuff on my own before, and came back to tell the tale. So with a person like that, you gotta know you'll be in good hands. And I need somebody to fly me around, so you'll be out and around a good lot. A good gig."
The Aerodactyl snorts and doesn't seem amused.
"Or we can fight it out and see this thing through that way, if ya want..."
Avitus steps forward, and merely taps it's ball to return itself.
"Alright buddy, great talk."
Lia sends to the ball back to the ranch and looks to the others. She turns to Scier, introducing her to her new poke-mates.
"So Scier, this here is Cie. I got her in a trade from somebody who seemed really willing to give them up. But we always got room on our team for somebody willing to help, right? And this over lovely lady is a Croagunk that basically got booted from it's home by bigger stronger pokemon, but we'll get her to the point that that won't happen ever again. Isn't that right?"
Lia puts her fist out for Brunhilda to give her a fist bump, who seems hesitant at first, but happily does it.
"Glad you ain't evolved yet, or that would have hurt."
The four of them get some time to get to know each other, and Lia also gives them a bit of test training (Brutal training on the both of them) to see where they are at physically.

Kaeda
The phone rings a few times before someone picks up. "Hello?" a woman's voice asks "Who is this?"
