"WOAH GEEZ! What's in this little pond that'll do THAT?"

It pulls hard, sure. Lia pulls harder.

As Lia pulls back she lands on her behind and finds she caught something. Something with a lot of teeth. She looks up to the sky.

"Whichever legendary is listening to me right now, I know I 'joked' about finding a pond of carvhanna, but I wasn't supposed to actually 'find' it."

Lia turns to Scier.

"Uhhhh, just yawn it?"

Scier, about as surprised (And a little scared, due to that typing), just lets off a sleepy yawn in the direction of the Carvhanna. Lia readies a pokeball.

After meeting up with Vincent and spending a few hours admiring the dark, damp interior of Mt Moon the pair returned to Pewter City and spent the night at the Pokemon Centre.
In the morning Floyd trained his pokemon and purchased a new axe, along with iron for Esuri before heading back to the gym.

It angrily flops towards you, but seems to be unable to get in range to do anything. It then promptly falls asleep.

Sleepy Angry Fish is captured! Level 1, Skittish, Female, Rough Skin.

Lia picks up the ball. The fish was quickly captured, as it was such a young thing. At least like Jazda, if not a little younger. Still, that bite hurt. A lot. And considering her earlier jokes, perhaps this was destiny? Or at least 'something' taking pity on her. It'll need quite a bit of training, but it's a welcome addition to the team. She pockets the ball, and looks to Scier. Lia affectionately rubs the bell on top of her starter's head. It lets off light chinging noises.

"I'll be alright Scier. I know you care. Hell you evolved just to show me you could do better. Ain't your fault. We'll get through it."

She looks back toward Pewter, a stern look across her face.

"But I gotta beat someone first. I don't care that she wants to just give me the badge. I know I did more than most. But I still failed. THAT ENDS. If I have to stay in Pewter for a damn month trying over and over I'll freaking do it! I. Ain't. Leaving. Till. I. Beat. Her."

She looks to Scier.

"Understood?"

Scier gives an enthusiastic nod, and Lia smirks. She puts away her fishing rod back into pieces, and they both head back into the city, first making a shopkeeper really happy right as they open as she buys the Reflect Tm, and some more pokeballs till she's got nothing left in the bank. She then heads to the center to heal her own wounds and to fully refresh the new capture. Thanking the nurse, she heads outside, and lets the Carvanha out. It starts immediately trying to snap at the air.

"Oy. Would ya... Just calm down. You aren't even in the pond anymore. There's no food here."

The water type turns to look at Lia.

"Don't you 'even' think that. You already tried. Look what happened. Just... COME HERE!"

She scoops the thing up, not noticing Scier has taken refuge behind Lia's body. One hand on top and one hand on the bottom keeps the jaw shut. It wriggles, but Lia is a lot stronger than this young fish, and it's mouth stays shut.

"Listen for a sec. I'll let you go back to your pond if ya don't want to stay with me, but I have a feeling you might want to stay. I mean, look at where you were. In a tiny pond for the rest of your life? You'd eventually starve yourself, if something bigger didn't swing by and eat you. And don't give me that look, your barely hatched, something would have eaten you. Maybe you would get a chunk out of them like you tried on me, but then I caught you. So see how easy it would have been for someone else?"

The wriggling stops.

"And I'm happy to keep you fed and trained to be stronger. Don't you want to evolve? Stick with me, and we'll get that done, ok?"

She puts it down, hoping for a positive response. It stays still for a little bit, and starts chewing the air, in some sort of odd thinking motion. Guess that's all you can hope for from a thing that's literally just a big jaw and a fin. It stops, and looks up to Lia, giving a nod. She smiles.

"Excellent. Now we'll need a name. 'Los'. That's what we'll go with. In another language, it's 'Doom'. Cause that's what you'll bring down on those you face!"

Los jumps up a couple times biting the air, obviously excited to start nomming training.



Afterward, she picks up the Carvanha in her arms. Scier stays levitating behind her.

"I've let everyone get some air now and again instead of keeping them in the pokeball. But I think you'll have an issue with that what with being a fish and all. I'll just keep ya in my arms. Also..."

She leans in close so only her two pokes can hear.

"That woman or one of her goons shows up I'm just going to throw you so you can eat their faces right off, deal?"
Los grins and repeatedly bites the air again. As she finishes up, she noticed Vincent talking to some rich-lookin dude. She pauses a moment, before deciding to go toward him as he is finishing up the conversation with the man, seem set to battle. She taps him on the shoulder, careful not to drop Los to the ground.

"Hey Vincent. Later if you, and Floyd, have a minute, I could use a friend to talk something out. That ok?"

"Ha. Yeah I just fished her out on Route Three. Very untrained. Still bites hard though."

CHOMP CHOMP CHOMP

"Yeah Los, we know. But yeah sometime after your match. I'm going to hunt down Floyd now. Good luck with your match."

Lia pats him on the shoulder and walks off. She opens her text, sending a text off to Floyd.

"Hey, later on when you are done with morning stuff I want to talk with you and Vincent. He's in a battle right now, so no rush, just sometime later."

She gives a moment waiting a reply before finally deciding to head to the gym. Not something she is looking forward to.

As Floyd and Lia leave the gym and head for the Pokemon Centre, Floyd speaks.
"So why did you get to skip the desert survival course? Was it because it was your second time there and you only have to go through it once or some other reason?"

"Then we should find him posthaste." Floyd says, looking around. "I suspect he'll be in the city still, whether he is looking for a Murkrow battling another trainer. He definitely did not seem the type to bow easily." He pulls out his pokedex and sends a message to Vincent.
