Floyd shrugs. "Feel free to pay me back when you can. I will always be happy to add another steel type to my team." He throws a great ball to Kaedra and nods.

Kaeda catches it, and blinks. "Huh. Um Thank you. Thank you very much." She looks at the ball, and can feel the psychic energy flowing from it. "Well then. We shall be acquainted soon." She smiles warmly.

Lia scoffs at Floyd's comment.
"You always say-"
Before she can finish, she's interrupted by Kaedra repeating basically the same thing, and acting a lot like Lia was hoping she would after.
Well, mission accomplished I guess.
She thinks about it for a moment before giving Kaedra's hand a firm shake.
"Fine, me and the team will take the compliments. Never considered scruffy Flare 'beautiful' and he'd probably be very confused at that but sure I guess...But don't think I'll take this lying down. Just try a battle with me in it next time. I hit as hard as they do and am too stubborn to go down easy."
Lia starts walking back in the center as Floyd tosses the ball.
"Yeah these knuckleheads are good about that sort of thing. I did the same for him a few days ago."
Lia heads into the center and heals up.

She watches Lia walk away, and Kaeda smiles genuinely. "Haha...How embarrassing...Perhaps these commoners are more than they seem. I know they are already more than most...Hmmm" With another smile, she takes her pokemon, and heads into the center behind Lia.

In the Pokemon Center, Vincent was waiting for the group. He'd been preoccupied with something or other and so hadn't gone outside to watch the battle. "Sorry, I was busy. Who won?" Vincent asks, then continues, "Well, regardless, here's the Unown's Poke Ball. It doesn't have a name yet." He holds out the ball to Lia. "I'm sure you have something suitable to trade."

As Lia hands over her two hurt pokemon, she turns to Vincent.
"Eh, it was her. I seem to always lose unless I'm directly involved."
Vincent asks for what's available and he and Lia go over options before they decide on the pack leader Golbat she had caught in Mt Moon. She hadn't really planned on using Wrona much, it's just it was by default a really strong poke already so it was an easy pick most days. Vincent will make good use of it.

Kaeda smiles, and waves to Vincent to acknowledge her victory. After leaves her hurt pokemon to the nurse, and heads off to the side of the lobby to take a seat. She takes out takes out her Kadabra's ball, and sends it out in front of her. The Kadabra blinks, and looks around until it notices Kaeda. She sits forward, and establishes a telepathic connection. "Hello there. My name is Kaeda. It is a pleasure to meet you." The Kadabra stares at her in shock from hearing her in its' head. It tilts its' head, and studies her. "Hehe. I noticed your surprise. I'm telepathic, so I can communicate with pokemon personally through my gift." The Kadabra hesitates, then nods. "My other pokemon can fully understand my language, so I'm sure you'll come to understand too." Kaeda takes its' hands in hers, and presses their foreheads together. "I know we just met, but I hope you can trust me in training you to be the best you can be, and that we can can be good friends." The Kadabra can't speak, but feelings of happiness, and trust, can be understood from its' thoughts. Kaeda gives it a hug, and puts it back in its' ball. She smiles, "Welcome to the family."

Floyd gives Kaedra and Iactus a weird look, confused that she'd somehow evolved while in the pokeball. He then shrugs and walks over to Vince and Lia.
"We've all got the badge now, so what do we do next? Head down to Vermillion City?"

Kaedra looks over at the group talking of where to go. "Hmm...I guess it's decided then..." She takes a big breath, and walks over to the group. "Here we go...more embarrassing stuff..." "Ahem!...Excuse me, but I don't think I've have asked, and after a thrilling battle, and gifting me a new friend...I...I ask that I may join your group in travel, and gym challenging. I would be...glad?..Yes glad if you would have me along. It could be fun." Kaeda looks a bit uncomfortable in her skin, and blushing from asking to join others.

Lia gives a quick glance to Kaedra and the Kadabra.
Well that's... one thing you can do I guess. Not my way of bonding with new pokes.
Lia sets Scier back out, who's surprised that Kaedra is right there hanging out with them. Lia is about to speak up when Vincent and Floyd bring up moving on.
"Well I figured you guys wanted to move on soon. (Good job on the badge then, Floyd) I'd say I would like to go with you but I've got my job at the gym and I have been ignoring it for days. I got an egg from Maxine... (who I think may have left, she withdrew her name from the ranch). It's a Tropius but it's got a while before it hatches. So I think I need to go back there today and catch up with you. Gotta earn my flying license, afterall."
That's when Kaedra interrupts to ask to join.
"Well there ya go. She joins, maybe wear her down a bit so I'm not fored to challenge her anytime we are together, and you got your trio. I'll handle myself on the way."

Kaeda smiles at her acceptance into the group, and looks towards Lia. "Oh you work at a gym? Seems Kanto is lacking in the challenge difficulty. Hmm..." She taps the corner of her mouth as she teases, and turns to the others. "There is no need to rush anywhere. I just happened to blow into town recently, and haven't gotten the chance to look around much. But, if you would like to move on, that is also fine,"

Taking her away lookin REAL good right about now.
"I mean it's up to you guys. Trust me, I'll be fine by myself, and I'd need to take trips back for my job anyway.(Also you ain't my dad, so hush). If you really want to stay a day, know that unless it's the weekend, I'd have to be back in day or so anyway."
Lia shrugs.

As the others seem to have trouble deciding what to do, Lia speaks up.
"Well alright, you know what I'm going to do. I'd feel bad if I ignore work for a while even though they said I could take time. So if you stayed, cool, text me and I'll meet up with you later. If not, go ahead and roll on out, and I'll head out myself after work. Good? Good. Later, dweebs."
Lia motions to Scier to come along and they head for the gym.

Kaeda smiles, waves, and calls out, "Bye Lia!! I'll make sure to do better than you as your replacement on the team!! Don't bother coming back if your're not stronger!!" She laughs, and turns back to the others. She straightens her backpack, and with a big sigh, "Ok boys. What is the plan?"

Lia
Entering the Gym with Scier in tow, you find it to be literally packed full of trainers. Nathan nearly runs you over as he rushes towards the room with the healing machine.
"Whoa! Sorry about that.. Lia? Ah, good, you're back. Hope you're ready to go, because this is day 2 of the latest wave of new trainers from Pallet. They show up every few months or so and we just get swamped. Most of them aren't that tough, but we still are required to fight every challenger who comes calling. I've had to rotate my team twice today already because of the sheer number of battles I've had; and this is with every single Gym Trainer on duty all day."
You can see Nathan's little sister, Missy, off on the sidelines, directing traffic as the Gym Trainers frantically run around healing pokemon, swapping tired pokemon out, and just generally having a very busy day.
"Soon as you're ready, just tag a couple of challengers and get started. Good luck, and make our Gym proud!"

"Ah! No it's ok Nathan. Yeah I'm back, wasn't feeling in any real good mood the last few days..."
Lia looks around at the sheer chaos.
"But it seems that there's not time to talk about that now. Right, I'll get out there and take some of this load off all ya'lls hands. I'll get into my suit and start."
She playfully slugs him in the arm and walks past him.
"We'll catch up later."
She goes to the lockers and quickly changes, making sure she's got her water types at the ready.
Los, Czolg, Halas, Muszla. We're ready.
Lia heads into the throng of trainers, Scier at her side.

Vincent thinks for a moment. "Alright, I think we should do what Lia suggested to start with. We'll set out and let her catch up. I know we have bad memories of setting out on our own, but I think Lia can handle herself a little more now. I think the time she spent on her own recently was good for her and I wouldn't be surprised if she feels a little better about herself after making the trek to Vermillion on her own too. If I'm wrong... Well, I'll take responsibility for that. I'm sure things will work out though and in the worst case scenario we can always go back to Cerulean to pick Lia up."
