"Yes, I could use some Trainers first, if that's okay," Maxine says. "Oh, by the way, does anyone have a need for a Bellsprout?" She produces the Temp Ball from the PokéCenter. "I knocked this one out severely yesterday and carried it to the Center with me. Before I release it, I thought I'd see if any of you guys would like to battle and capture it."

"Tell you what, I'll just set it here," Maxine pleasantly says, slowly setting the ball down with a smile on the ground in the middle of the group. "If anyone wants it, just release it and it'll be raring for a fight, I'm sure. The ball will destroy itself. Here's my number," she says, using her Pokédex to send her information to the Pokédexes of the others, "so just call or text me with the time you'd like to all meet up and challenge the Gym. I'm also setting my 'dex up to share data with all of yours, so you should be receiving data entries on Pancham, Remoraid, Tropius, and my new Grotle right now and - oh, my, I'm getting data from you guys as well, and, wow, you've all certainly caught a few already haven't you? Well, good job. You just filled out an impressive chuck of my Pokédex, that's for sure. Okay, so I'm gonna head off now. We'll meet back up later today, yes? See you all soon."
With a smile and a wave, Maxine heads up to Route 24 to look for Trainers to battle.

"Hmm I think I'm actually going to look for some Trainers too. I'd like to see my Purrloin evolve before I tackle the gym. I also need a little more money for a TM, either Snarl or Dark Pulse, probably the latter which is a little more costly."With that Vincent excused himself and went off to Route 9 to search for Trainers. As he got there though, he remembered to check for fallen things and scoured the route before committing to a battle.

Lia shrugs when nobody seems to respond.
"More for me then! And... I think I'll give that Bellsprout a home."
One Scier yawn and toss later, Lia has a new Bellsprout. It's teleported away to her set ranch, and Lia remembers she REALLY needs to watch what she catches or those back in the dojo might just figure out where the pokemon were coming from and find her. Not looking forward to that possibility. Hopefully she has some wiggle room before questions start getting asked. She finishes assembling the Old Rod, and attaches her lure to it.
"Come on Scier, lets roll! We got different fishing options here! Lets get our butts to the sea!"
Scier falls in line, chinging happily as Lia heads to the port, and finds a good spot to cast off from. She lets Los out in the water, but instructs the Carvanha to stay right near the boards, as she'll probably need her help fighting whatever she catches. Or at least to bring her pokeballs that land in the water back.

Floyd blinks as he finishes his training and realises the others had all left. I should really striuve to be more perceptive. He thinks as he set out for the Cerulean gym.

The first of his group to elect to take the Gym Challenge, Floyd strolls over to it. The Gym certainly looks nice on the outside. Not like the Pewter Gym, which seemed to be a much older, more weathered building. Conversely, this one looks almost brand new. Regardless, Floyd heads on inside. Once through the doors, there seems to be some sort of check-in or receptionist's desk. The girl behind the counter looks up as you enter, blushing a little as she sees you. After an awkward moment of her just staring at you, she manages to remember what she was doing and stutters out a greeting.
"Uhm... oh..er.. Hello! Welcome t-to the Ce-Cerulean Gym! Are you looking to s-swim or take the G-Gym Ch-allenge?"

"I intend to take the gym challenge." Floyd replies confidently. "I must say, I wasn't aware the gym doubled as a public pool. Does this mean others will be forced to vacate the pool during my challenge? Because I'd hate to inconvenience others."

Your Pokedex pings, revealing a message specifically from the Gym (likely this poor, awkward girl just sent it) stating that you are now qualified to take the Gym Challenge here in Cerulean.
The receptionist girl points you towards the right-hand door, marked "Trainers Only", informing you that you can reach the Gym's Arena through there. She wishes you good luck, and also comments that she hopes you win.

Catching the now less 'surprise attacky' Froakie and teleporting it away outside the Center, Lia believes there's really not much to do with her day besides the obvious. She takes out her dex and sends a text off to Maxine. Hey, it's Lia. Don't know where the others are at, but I know we are all going to the gym eventually. Heading there myself now. See you there  Lia then sends a text off to Floyd and Vincent. Heading to the gym now you two. Hope you can keep up with me in the water  And with that, she heads straight for the Gym. |

Maxine awakens after the blast when 1 HP finally replenishes. Looking around, she sees the carnage that Koffing's Self-Destruct left behind. Besides Remoraid, who doesn't even have a scratch, it looks like Maxine's the only one awake so far.
Good.
She fights through the pain of her many Injuries and drags herself across the ground until the reaches the Burglar. Pulling herself slightly onto him and then flipping over so that she can use him to rest while slightly sitting up, she looks to Remoraid.
"Remo..raid," she weakly calls out. "Go get .. help."
Remoraid, not the fastest species, begins gradually heading back toward town. Maxine just lays there, keeping her weight on the side of the Burglar and throwing an elbow into the back of his head any time that he stirs.

You notice that it's been several hours already since the battle began. It will probably take at least 1 or 2 more for Remoraid to reach town and somehow communicate that you need help. At some point before then, you see a white humanoid Pokemon with teal hair walk slowly out of the woods. Wordlessly, it lifts up Pancham, Koffing, and Trubbish's Poke Balls without touching them, recalling the Pokemon before placing the balls back onto the belts of the respective trainers. It then lifts up both of you and teleports down to the Cerulean Pokemon Center. It then vanishes, teleporting away. Moments later, a very confused but relieved Remoraid appears in your lap.

"I don't know what happened, either, Remoraid," Maxine breathes, doing her best to lift her head to look at the little Pokémon. "But I'm glad it did. And you did a great job no matter what."
She recalls Remoraid. As a small crowd of onlookers begins to form around her, Maxine gives the people an irritated look.
"Don't just stand there gawking like idiots," she weakly utters as she removes Koffing's and Trubbish's Poké Balls from the Burglar's belt. "Someone go get a police officer. And, for Arceus' sake, someone help me into this PokéCenter."

Someone, at least, decides that sounds like a good idea, as only minutes later, a police officer arrives to disperse the crowd and helps you inside. A second officer carries the unconscious burglar inside as well. When you are feeling better, they want a full report of what exactly happened. Turns out they've been looking for this guy for awhile, but he somehow managed to elude them using his Pokemon's abilities.
