"Hmm." Jane frowns, trying to remember as much as she can about Kantonese/Jothoian legends. Rubbing her chin she throws some ideas out to see if any sticks. "It likes rain. Maybe if we built some sort of really cool fountain? Or put out a bonfire..."

Lia 'hmms' thoughtfully.
"Didn't the three beasts like... align themselves with noble houses or some shit?"
She looks to Kaeda.
"You're rich, babe, do you think that'd count as 'nobles' in this day and age?"

Kaeda just shrugs, but then blinks a few times. "Ummm....I really don't know. Nobles? Probably not. We seem like new money if you ask me. I guess I can take a look into my family tree. That requires going to my parents estate. We would have records there."

"I mean you could just call. And 'new money' aside, it'd still be closer than someone like me for example. Ya could try making that connection now."

"I can try I guess." Kaeda takes her phone, and calls up her family's home. Getting one of their servants, Kaeda asks for them to look into their family tree for royalty in their blood, and any ties to legendary pokemon.

The servant does as asked, but will have to get back to Kaeda. The archives aren't far away, but to go back far enough to find actual, legitimate nobility will take a few hours.
~~A few hours later...~~
Kaeda receives a message from the servant she asked to look into the archives. It turns out that while the Starwoods are not nobility themselves, they were vassals to a noble house in the past. A rather interesting name turned up during the research into said noble house: D'Mara. Not the current one, no. Turns out the Elite Four member is the second of her name, the first being nobility back in the 'olden days'. Their line very nearly died out, and while D'Mara Dracor I was stripped of her rank for 'crimes against Kanto and her Queen' (which are not detailed, it seems), her daughter, a young woman named 'Zoey' continued the line. She eventually rebuilt the House of Dracor, and brought the Starwoods back into the fold as a Branch House. They aren't technically nobility, but they're about as close as one can get.

Kaeda has her phone on speaker for the others to hear. She is quite surprised by what she hears. She scratches her head, and looks to the others. "Well that is interesting....Buuut where does that put me?"

"Very interesting!" Jane grunts through clenched teeth, trying to suppress a yawn. She didn't have anything against family histories, but bloodlines and marriages and so on wasn't exactly her thing. To keep herself alert through the ordeal she retrieved a shiny and freshly pilfered apple from her bag. Yum!

Lia raises an eyebrow hearing about an ancient D'mara, but decides to stow that for now. She gets really conflicting feelings about that for some reason.
"Well that means you are about as close as we can 'get' to nobility. At least amoung those I know. Maybe you can try declaring an allegiance?"

"'I call on thee oh noble beast! Unleash ye might and kick thee lowly ass of my foes!'?" Jane suggests and takes a large chomp out of her delicious, crisp apple.

Kaeda face palms at Jane's antics. But, hell, she didn't know what else to do. She put her arms into the air. "Noble beast, I of the House Starwood, call upon thee to lend aid! I require strength to defeat my enemies, and achieve greatness! Please, lend thy aid!.......Well there you go."

There is silence but for waves lapping against the docks. Nothing happens. No real way of knowing whether Suicune heard Kaeda or not though. Not immediately. Even if it doesn't leave the greater Kanjo area, it could still be all the way over in Cianwood City or something. All the girls can do now is wait.

"Well what's the worst that could happen?" Jane cheers. This probably wouldn't work, much more chanting and candles was clearly needed for summoning magic, but it was worth a shot. Hmm. How would such a ritual actually work?
YBJ_nUUt6d6+1 Occult Edu for Legendary calling?
"Let's wait a little. It's a nice day anyhow!" she looks around for a good spot to sit down and dip her toes in the water (after removing shoes and socks of course!). 6d6+1

To the internet! Jane does some searching of the interwebz for 'how to call a Legendary Pokemon', and gets a number of results. Some of them are absolutely silly, while others seem like they could actually work. As with anything on the internet, it's hard to tell what's real and what's trolling, but that's okay!
The 'ritual' that seems most likely to work appears to involve quite a bit of preparation time. There are geometric designs to draw, a chant to memorize whose words differ based upon which Legendary Pokemon you want to call, and a good number of other things. Nothing particularly rare is required, but the person who posted this ritual suggests that it is untested, and not guaranteed to work. Surprising for the internet! Usually they try to claim that their suggestion will definitely work. At the same time though, the poster also claims that this ritual will only work on 'proper' Legendary Pokemon. Meaning things that aren't man-made, like Mewtwo. It also reminds the reader that Pokemon, especially of the Legendary variety, are intelligent beings capable of rational thought. Thus, they could possibly either ignore the calling entirely or even take offense to it if you word your request improperly.
While Jane is doing this, it suddenly occurs to Lia that Gym Leader Ashandra has a Legendary Pokemon. Surely she would know how to get one to respond to you long enough to attempt a bargain, yes? Hmmm, but at the same time, would she really tell you? Only one way to find out.

Jane starts to read the details of the ritual she has found out loud. See? Chanting and candles - now that was the proper stuff! "We could try it back at the ranch. What's the worst that could happen? Darkrai pops by instead ... Or a bunch of Ghost Maniacs show up and wave incense about! Hah. Seriously though they're usually good people just a bit enthusiastic. I used to travel a bit with a friend that really liked ghosts - I should write her a letter sometime.. Ahem and throw it across time and space somehow. Hmh. If this works I'll try it for Hoopa as well!"

Kaeda shrugged, and nodded. "I don't see how that could be any less effective than now. But at least we can fail, and lounge in our own home." Kaeda grabs her stuff, and looks to the others. "We can head home, if you two got nothing else to do here."

Jane splashes in the water a little more before she is willing to get up and go home. She smiled at Kaeda's doubt "Yeah! We'll try and see if this one works."

Once back at the ranch, the group is surprised to see someone waiting for them at the entrance. They are wearing strange, light blue and purple robes and have this strange, far away look in their eyes until someone addresses them.

When they get back and Lia sees a strangely dressed person invading their home, her 'Sand-Ninja' warnings go off. this person doesn't look like one but any strangely dressed weirdo inserting themselves in her life gives her feelings she doesn't like. She flares up fire in both palms.
"Scuse me, you lost?"

The strange person holds up their hands in surrender. "Calm yourself, Miss Regal. I am not here for you, but for your companions." He motions at Jane and Kaeda. "I have been tasked to serve as a spokesperson for The North Wind; you know it by the name of 'Suicune'." After a moment to perhaps appreciate the shocked look on the group's faces, he continues. "Suicune has heard the Call of Miss Starwood, and tasked me to determine her desire so that we may negotiate. I was not expecting to find one of the Touched here." He peers more closely at Jane, his eyes once again obtaining that glassy, far away look. "Ah, I see it now. Faint, but it is there. You have come a long way, Miss Woodson. My Lord and I know not why the Trickster has sent you here, but it was doubtless for a reason. Even He cannot bend the laws of Time and Space in such a way on a whim."
