Just as happened when you had entered the Dungeon, there's a moment of disorientation and you find yourself elsewhere. You're still in the same Dungeon, judging from the look of the place, but Mawile, Eevee and Spoink are nowhere to be seen. As the vines retract, though, you feel a strange, soothing feeling run through you. What do you do? OOCYou may heal up to half your maximum HP, and recover any Persistent Status afflictions you were suffering from. Keep track of how much you've healed.

Melanie heaves out a sigh. Yes, this would be a good reason to be wary about that group-joining thing. Minor space-time dislocation, huh? Dammit, Eevee... the things I go through for a bunch of rookies. Of course, most of the Guild would probably still consider Melanie a rookie, but still. She looks around curiously, noting that the soreness where the Pidove hit her seems to be gone. Four exits, nothing else special... and a look at her map shows that the long wall is apparently about as far north as this floor goes. While she has her Gadget out, she fiddles with it for a moment to try and find the option that got them into this mess. If it still offers a bunch of group signatures, maybe she can manage to link back up with someone. Anything would be an improvement to everyone facing the dungeon on their own. There are now, in fact, fewer group signatures; the '9-6-167.357.037.192.' option is the only remaining one. A brief moment of pressing buttons reveals that the option to synchronise groups that Lewis found by mistake is no longer there; it appears that doing so is only possible on stairs. On the plus side, she's pretty sure that the rest of her group is somewhere on this floor.

Well, it seems she's not going to get out of this one the easy way. Melanie sighs and tucks her Gadget away before looking around. With no other hint of direction, she may as well use the right-hand thing. If it leads her in a circle again, she's got three other corridors to pick. She turns to head for the hall that leads due west out of the room, trying to listen for signs of danger rather than think about the fact that she's now alone in a Mystery Dungeon with more ferals in it than she's ever seen. Much better to try and spot, or hear, an ambush before she runs into it. Perception to catch an ambush before it happens: wxlV21PV1d6 1d6

Melanie's caution pays off. She rounds the corner to find a dead end. Partially hidden by the grass in front of the dead end, though, she sees a log half-buried in the ground. She gets the distinct impression that it would probably spring up to strike her if she got too close. Of course, that does beg the question...who puts a trap to guard a dead end? Of course, Melanie has good reason to be wary of traps. Unlike ferals, they're something she very much expects to encounter in Mystery Dungeons. She can see it's a dead end past it anyway - she's not even going to bother. If there's some sort of hidden treasure there, it's something she's going to have to live with missing out on.
She turns right around back to her room to take the next closest hallway, out of the southwest corner. They can't all be booby-trapped dead ends.

Sure enough, the next hallway is not a booby-trapped dead end, though Melanie starts to hear something, or a few somethings, following her. As she makes her way down an inordinately long corridor, she reaches an intersection just in time for the somethings to turn the corner and see her - and for her to see them; a Rattata, a Turtwig and a Froakie. OOCNo combat/initiative yet, as they move at the same speed as you, so you can keep going in either direction as you please.

The faint noises of pursuit have her looking over her shoulder quite a bit, but whatever's following her is too far back, hidden by the twists and turns of the dungeon's corridors. At least until she reaches that long, long hallway and finally catches sight of the Pokémon following her. A Rattata she could deal with, if it was alone, but a Turtwig and a Froakie are bad news. She's pretty much in good shape, but that doesn't mean she wants to tangle with a Grass-type and a Water-type at the same time, with no backup.
Luckily, there's a side hall right here. Melanie ducks around it - though she's not really expecting to shake her tail, just buy a little time for herself to figure out what to do, and maybe keep herself from getting surrounded. Okay, what do I do now? Three Pokémon, two have an advantage on me. I can confuse at least one of them, maybe two... If I can take one hit from a super-effective attack I can curse it down, but that leaves the other. Oh, ancestors help me, if one of them gets behind me I am boned.

The assorted feral Pokemon seem rather surprised to find Melanie waiting for them as they dart around the corner, giving each other hesitant looks - and giving Melanie the chance to strike first. OOCSince you are basically lying in wait for them, the combat 'begins' on your initiative. Also feel free to move yourself on the map to wherever it was you were waiting.
Initiative: Rattata 10 Froakie 10 Turtwig 6 Melanie 2

Melanie swallows hard. Well, clearly she's lost her chance to just run for it... though with her current luck, she'd just run into another whole pack around the next corner. As the group comes around the corner, she whirls her staff into the confusing pattern she used on the Deerling, focusing on catching the Froakie's attention. "Caligo! Come on, watch the pretty beads..."Once the hex takes effect - or misfires entirely, one of the two - she starts to back down the passage. Walking backwards into strange territory is probably a bad idea, but she doesn't want to take her eyes off the ferals. Swift: Focused Training Standard: Confuse Ray, targeting Froakie TeTr3WUM1d20+1 vs AC 2. On hit, target is confused. Shift: U8 to Y8. 1d20+1

The Froakie babbles in surprise as Melanie backs away, and a cry comes from behind her. "Run this way! We fight together!" Behind her, she sees Kyria, along with the Numel who had previously accompanied Simisear, both looking rather beaten up. OOCInitiative: Kyria 18 Rattata 10 Froakie 10 Turtwig 6 Numel 4 Melanie 2

Kyria notices Melanie fleeing towards them, she rushes forward to her side, spinning around with her sword causing phantasmal images of swords to appear around her in the process. As she powers herself up she looks to the side at Melanie, "we block them off so they cant get passed us, and hit them hard when they get close, can you dull them down a bit? I took a beating on my way here." She was pretty roughed up. Shift - AD10 to Z9 Swift - Intimidate on Rattata Standard - Swords dance To Hit - N/A Damage - N/A

The sudden appearance of a second combatant seems to give the three ferals pause. The Rattata charges at Melanie and attempts to body-slam her backwards, the Froakie a step or two behind. The Numel who had been accompanying Kyria barrels past her to run into the frog, nearly taking it out of the fight entirely. The Turtwig, though, apparently thinks better of fighting against the intimidating Cubone and Mawile, injured though the latter may be - and flees. OOCRattata: Shift: Close with Melanie. Well, backup is unexpected, but definitely not unwelcome. Melanie nods in response to Kyria's strategizing - unfortunately the momentary inattention is enough for the Rattata to charge her and get a solid hit in, sending her tumbling back. She glances at Kyria and Numel, seeing the state they're in, and presses her last Energy Powder into Kyria's hand. "Here, take this." Unfortunately, she doesn't have one for Numel, too... but she can take the biggest threat to him out of the way. She lowers her head and outright charges at the Froakie, slamming her head into the frog's. A more direct hit would have probably knocked it silly; after Numel's powerful blow, she hopes her headbutt will be enough to take it down. That would remove the biggest threat and leave the ferals down to just the Rattata, since the Turtwig seems to have taken the better part of valor. Swift: Focused Training on self. Shift: Hand Kyria an Energy Powder, then close with ferals. Standard: Headbutt on Froakie To-hit (AC 2): B1g9Negm1d20+1 Normal Physical Damage: 2d6+20 1d20+1·2d6+20

Kyria is handed the energy powder, she looks at it with shock. Her path was then blocked by Melanie so she cant reach the enemy and potential prey, Kyria sighs. She looks at the herbs with disdain and takes a deep breath, eating it and gagging, why did it taste so bad! Hopefully her body will agree with it, unlike berries, she awaits her chance to strike again, and potentially leap at the rattata before the ground claims it as a victim.
Focus check to use energy powder, because Kyria hates it ydnAwIlc3d6 DC10

Melanie's powerful headbutt sends the Froakie sprawling. As the Rattata looks back and forth between its three opponents, it too seems to lose its nerve and turns and scampers away before anyone can react. Where the Froakie once lay, though, is a strange-looking root. OOCFroakie takes 3 Injuries, becomes Heavily Injured, Faints and drops an Energy Root.
Rattata: Standard: Sprint. Shift: Run away. With, er, Run Away. Map Melanie & Kyria are up I guess?(Or you can, y'know, not pursue it.)

Kyria wanders up, looking where the froakie lay, this time actually trying to dig to try and find it, brushing the root over to Melanie. She really didnt have the energy to chase the rat, so she just kinda sat there realizing finding the froakie was hopeless. "ugh, stupid mysterious force thing, stealing my food. Give the root to the chimchar or numel, they need help." she looks over at Melanie, "We need to find Virgil and the eevee before the other ferals do." She lifts herself back up, jaws snapping a few times, before going to follow Virgil's scent trail once more.

Melanie scoops the root up, examining it curiously. Mawile's remark about Chimchar confuses her, until she sees it lying over on the floor. She hurries over to try and administer the root - she still thinks Chimchar is more than a bit of a jerk, but she's not going to leave an unconscious Pokémon in the middle of the dungeon.
While she tries to feed the root to the unconscious Chimchar, she looks up at Mawile and Numel. "Thanks for the help back there, you two. I'd have been in trouble if you hadn't shown up."
When she sees Mawile is already starting off on the trail, she hurries after her as much as she can. "Shouldn't we sync our Gadgets again? Unless we want to go through this all over again on the next floor."

By the time the fox friends caught up to the rest of the flamers, neither were panting, but a slight sweat had been built. The sight of Mawile in such a state amplified Lewis's already far from insubstantial guilt. The apparent lack of a chimchar was also concerning.
"Cubone, Mawile, I'm so so so sorry, I didn't think this would happe- wait, you guys followed me?"

Kyria stretches, walking over to the foxes and cubone. "Dont mention it, just glad we're all together. I don't think I followed you, I was tracking down Virgil and i saw Melanie in an unfavorable situation, so i rushed to help. We still need to find him and Simisear though." Kyria still looks quite upset however, rather than her carefree self.
Her jaws spin around to look forward at everyone as Kyria rubs them lightly, despite being healed she is still really roughed up and injured.
