"Not as far as I know," Shane says, shrugging. "Granted, we might be looking at them and have no idea what they are, but, as far as I know, haven't found any dead civilizations. ...I wonder what kind of world that would be classed as?"
"Might need to make a whole new classification..." Faith says.
It seems like the snake doesn't exactly like being touched, even though it didn't really notice, and it keeps slooooowly moving its face just out of reach of Parish's hand. There's a bit of a grumble, at both the motions and the compliment, but, again, it doesn't seem to be that irritated, just... not-touch-likey.

"Well, alright, if you're sure.". Parish slowly lowered his hand, chuckling softly. "I never thought I would meet someone so big that was so shy, but this was nice. Enjoy the rest of your day, okay? Oh, hang on actually..."
The boy drew out his dowsing rod. "Just give me a few minutes, I'll make you something nice."
Parish gets six shards of the color needed for a Rock Gem (Orange?), and offers the translucent amber-brown cut gem go the Onix.

"A lot of Rock Types are fairly solitary creatures," Rebecca explains. "They sort of just... mind their own business. Most just eat rocks and stuff, so they don't have to bother with anyone else at all. Some of them are aggressively territorial, but the ones around here tend to be a bit of the quieter ones."
The rock-type eyes the gem suspiciously, but leans forward, and gently engulfs Parish's hand (and arm) in its mouth. There's clear power in those jaws, but it's gentle, and a rocky tongue sweeps the gem out of his palm. There's another grumble, but this time seemingly one of contentment.
"Impressive..." Shane admits. "And seemingly very foolish."
"Well, you do know foolish..."

Parish can't help but laugh until there are tears in his eyes. "Closest thing to food I could find, but it seems like you really enjoyed it.". His eyes sparkled mirthfully as he drew his arm out of the Pokemon's mouth and heaved a happy sigh.
"Thank you for letting me touch. And keep my arm. That's probably pretty important too.". He exuded joy and confidence. "It's hard being alone sometimes, but when you take a chance, sometimes something special happens you don't expect! You make friends."

"Psh, who needs arms?" Rebecca teases. "I mean, that's why you have a spare, right?"
"...what am I supposed to do if you're stealing all of my jokes???"
"Ah, sorry about that. Guess I'm just quick on the draw today."
"Get more jokes?"
There's another rumble from the snake, as it turns around, and slithers up the mountainside at a frankly impressive speed.

"He's so fast." Parish cheers as he watches the Pokemon go like there's no tomorrow. "It's amazing, the things you learn. Hundreds of pounds of rocks are really fast when they are well fed. If I meet him again, I'll name him Moss. Anyway! Sorry for the holdup, and the exhaustion of the jokes. I was doing... me things." Parish laughed sheepishly, and Hero gave an excited "CHOU!" behind him, whipping those deelies high into the air.

"I mean, the entire point was just to... get out and do things," Rebecca says. "I don't mind just... watching how your mind works. It's interesting."
"Mhmm," Faith seems to make an agreeing noise.
"You seem very attached to something in the wild. Going so far as to already name it? Why is that?"

"So I know what to call him... or I guess her, if we ever meet again!" Parish replied brightly. "Moss taught me what the inside of a rock snake's mouth feels like, that they don't go blblblblbl like regular snakes, they enjoy eating rocks, and can go really fast despite being big. The last one applying to other things could be really important for my safety someday. Something large and fast that wants to hurt me, could be really dangerous. Now that I know it can happen, I can watch out for it! Moss was nice though. And Rebecca taught me that Rock-Pokemon don't really enjoy company that much, and that's okay. Today I learned I don't like lots of people all at once very much either, so that's just one more thing Moss and I have in common!"

"I... I see..." Shane says, seemingly at a loss for words. For once.
Rebecca just smiles and leads the way northward, ever onwards. It's midday by the time that they reach the pass in the mountains that leads into Meteor Falls. A map's by the entranceway, showing a few trails. A few trek over to an exit on the other side, while some spiral upwards into the cliffs. There are some warnings that there may be strong Pokémon on the upper cliffs.
"So... anyone have any preferences on where to go?"
"Nope."
"As long as this isn't a convoluted plot to make me go swimming, no problems here with anything."

"I really want to see the caves and swim the pools in there with Hero if it isn't deathly cold. I'm sure the water must cut an interesting path into the mountain... Or come out of it. I won't go too far, I am having a nice time with you all today. Better then expected even!"

"Well, there are a lot of pools and stuff up above..." Rebecca says, thinking. "And the caves further down would probably have stuff, too. Though be cold and dark. So, if you're really wanting to swim, probably want to do it around the sun-warmed rocks up above. Especially since in the caves you probably won't be able to see at all."
"It's fine, Parish likes to glow," Faith says, smiling.

"I do!". Parish confirms. "What's your favorite adaptation, Faith?" He asked innocently. "Today I have Hero for glowing. Either way you spin it, colder water sounds less pleasant. Up top sounds good but the guide says to be careful. So, we will just have to be careful!"

She thinks for a moment. "I like being able to climb walls. It's very handy in a pinch."
The group enters through the valley, and into a brilliant alabaster wonderland. Natural arches, and sparkling azure water, it's all very solid, yet sparkling at the same time. Anything that lives here is almost certainly very rugged and persistent.
...or maybe stupid. As is evidenced after only a few minutes climb as a Pokémon on a cliff above them takes a running leap off, plummeting past to the ground even further below where the group is.

"... Oh no!". Parish makes for the edge and stops short, a scattering of small rocks falling after the creature. He looks below for it worriedly. "Why would anything just... Throw itself off a cliff! An injured bird... Or... Or maybe a rock Pokemon that could take it?"
The boy looks for a path to descend again to check on it.

It doesn't look like a rock, instead a small draconic humanoid looking grumpy and brushing itself off. Huffing, it seems to be making its way back up, which'll take it along the path the group is taking.
Shane seems to have joined Parish in staring, while Rebecca's just laughing.

"...". Parish considers the spot where it landed and is now walking away from. "Any landing you can walk away from is a good landing? Does anyone have some rope? It might really appreciate some rope.". It seemed pretty content to trudge on its own, and put off by the failure of whatever it was trying to do, so the boy would leave be for now.

"I don't think its arms are long enough to use rope, especially with that big head," Shane comments.
The Pokémon keeps walking up the incline, until it eventually comes to the humans. It pauses and blinks in confusion, as though not expecting anything on its path.

"You aren't hurt at all!". Parish exclaimed proudly. "That's really neat! Is falling fun, or are you trying to do something else?". He'll channel the Pokemon.
"We should probably get out of its way, it is on a very important mission."

The Pokémon's recent memories are of the same event over and over... running, jumping, and hanging in the air for a blissful moment... and then the disappointing, agonizing plummet. Not that it actually hurt, it was just the pain of disappointment. One day it will fly.
It doesn't really seem to acknowledge the humans once they let it by, going further back up, climbing onwards.
"Keep on trucking, little Bagon," Rebecca says. "One day you'll make it."

"Bagon? It's been at that for... probably hours. That must be one heck of a shell on its head.". Parish moved to follow the Pokemon up the path. "What's it doing Rebecca? It's definitely an odd choice for like... A hunting tactc?"
