"A little, it's not really our specialty but noodles are something I can talk about. So pad thai is a sweet and spicy sauce and noodles combination. The noodles themselves are made from a very firm dough which picks up a unique squishy slippery texture. Stir frying itself usually requires cooking off your ingredients, then moving them into a very hot pan and using that to crisp them. It is called stir frying because you have to move the stuff around constantly to keep it from burning. That's about all I have for you. That and you can put different things in it, like vegetables. You have anything in mind for a course tomorrow?"

"Well, we are expected to make a dish that doesn't take up a lot of space but is very filling.". Jazz tapped her chin with the back of her fork between bites. "We could try cornish hens, or planked fish. Pasta would certainly be a good option but we would need to choose what we add to it really well."

"A purely vegetarian dish?". Jazz hummed softly at that. "Stuffed peppers might be a more popular option in that regard. I don't have a lot of experience with cooking vegetarian. I suppose we can make something filling and hearty without putting on the Ritz too hard. Our meals will be feeding everyone from construction to rangers for the next little while. What to stuff them with though?"

"We could use a roasted pepper as a bowl for a vegetarian curry dish. Bismati or Jasmine rice, onion, mushroom... Maybe a light sour cream topping. Or... A bread bowl vegetable stew. I appreciate the cheese enthusiasm but too much of that isn't good for digestion, and we just made the quiche today."

"Alright!". Jazz's hand shot up. "Bread bowl stew Miss Jesse?". The blonde considered it for a moment, cleaning her glasses on her apron. "Oh, we wanted it to be vegetarian.". The woman's mouth worked as though considering it and she nodded slowly. "We can make a few different kinds of stew and label the tables so there is no confusion. That is a wonderfully versatile option. Filling, healthy, and versatile. Very nice."

Ideas continue to bounce between the girls, Jesse shoots a few down for being cost poor for community meals or too light for their goals. After the conversational dust settles, Jesse claps her hands for attention. "Alright girls, tomorrow will be brisket and a cobb salad. Wednesday, a madras curry with fresh naan, Thursday an alfredo carbonara, Friday will be Miss Lucasta's presentation meal of Vegetable Stew Bread Bowls, and Saturday, Pizza.". She added the last with a hint of amusement. There was no schedule for more cooking after Friday, and it was so out of place some of the girls couldn't help but laugh.

"Oh... I suppose. Do you really want to spend an entire day cooking? It gets hot in here and I know a presentation is a great deal of stress. I don't mind pitching in if you decide you want the dinner to be yours instead. Just figured one meal in a day would be enough.". She replied with a hint of concern.

"I can respect that Miss Lucasta. Pushing forward on your own merit even if it is more difficult. Alright, you will have my support that evening.". "Mine too, for sure!". Jazz piped up. "Any opportunity to be in the kitchen!"

Jesse seemed pleased with the arrangement. "Would you like your lunch meal moved to another day? That way you aren't in charge of two at once? Probably best to spread your workload out."

"Change of plans then, bread bowl stew tomorrow, and we will coordinate our lunch choice around Thel's dinner plans for Friday. We'll play it by ear. Make sure to give the dining hall a listen in and see how people liked your hard work today! Otherwise, class dismissed."

It was about 3 pm by this point, people filtered in damp, but not muddied. It seemed some precautions had been taken. The coat room was assuredly quite full. Some were curious about the food, having never seen this sort of thing before, shy of the odd individual disliking egg, or allergies, the meal was a rousing success.
