"Would probably be good to make sure she's fine, yeah. Though, she did say to not disturb her until we were done, I think. So... quietly check on her, I guess."
The pair wander, meandering through Mossdeep, before coming to an area where it looks like another structure's going up. Things have been dug out, and the stone foundations are in the process of being stacked to form the outer wall. The area's fairly deserted right now, though there is someone leisurely working on it.
And it's that someone Rainbow calls out to, as they approach. "Hey, Brooke!"
"Ugh, what is i-" She asks, turning around, sounding exasperated before noticing who it is. She lightens up after that. "Oh, Rainbow! Sorry about the snippishness, Mom's been around here lately badgering me for not visiting her at home more. I'm not a child anymore. Anyways, what brings you around to lighten my day? And who's this?"
The girl in question is slender, but with strength behind her build... especially her arms and legs, which look to be made of pure metal instead of flesh. Steel horns jut forwards from pure white hair, and she has a rather sly smile plastered on her face.
"Oh, well... uh, the last day has been, uh, something," Rainbow says, laughing. "I've kinda spent a month or whatever in the past. So, uh, yeah. It's been an eventful day. We think we have a way to fix all of... this around. And I met Beatrice there and... yeah. We became close. She helped me a lot along the way."
"Oh?" Aurora says, brightening up more. "Well, that's good. She seems cute, and I'm glad you're letting yourself open up more. It's good for you." The metal girl sweeps herself behind Beatrice, pressing up against her back and running a hand gently down her face, brushing her hair. "Besides, she seems to have a magnetic personality," Aurora adds, wryly.
"I like her," she steps away, smiling widely. "Aurora Brooke Richard Felicity na Mitsaru Mossdeep Durant Earthshaper at your service," she gives a small bow and flourish.

Beatrice gives a shiver as Aurora gets extremely close, her eyes following the motions of the other girl's hands, color in her cheeks, tail pushing just barely against the girl before she flits away again. The scientist takes a moment to breathe, clearing her throat softly. "Well... I've never met a Bug-Type I didn't like either, so there's that." She smiled shyly in turn. Beatrice Vespa Edward Melanie na LaBrasta Fallarbor Magnezone Lorekeeper, c-charmed. This isn't exactly my Sunday best, but Rainbow took me by Maya's to get some travel outfits, and now to meet you."

"Brooke," Rainbow chastises, "It took her a lot of bravery to do the things she's done recently. Lay off her a little bit, okay?"
"Aw, you're even more cute when you're flustered," Aurora says, grinning, but steps away. "But, if I'm making you uncomfortable, let me know and I'll tone it down a bit. Just never seen Rainbow over there as happy with someone else. So I figured you're all right. Gotta remember can't be quite the same as I am with her. At least not yet." She giggles.
"Also, really, if you're on chosen-name privileges with her," she says, "You can call me Brooke."

"It's fine, I've had much, much worse." The girl laughs softly and unfurls her tail behind her. "Don't take that as a reason to up the anty though. Rainbow just calls me Bee, I'm not sold on Vespa yet, but Beatrice Bee just sounds weird to me. Still sorting that out, but you can call me whatever you'd like." Admiring the ongoing building project, she asks curiously. "What's going up here? Have you been at it long?"

"Oof, I'm hurt by that one," Brooke says, mock-recoiling at the pun. "At least mine made sense on its own," she teases. "Going to have to work on your punmanship. And whatever I want?" she asks, winking. "How does 'cutie' sound??"
"New house," she answers. "Getting the foundations in now, though it'll probably be a bit before it needs to be used. I've been a little bit itching for stuff to do the past few days, so this has pretty much been from that. Could probably take it easier, though," she shrugs, before grinning. "So, if you want to do something elsewhere, I'll absolutely shirk my Earthshaper duties for a day. I'm already ahead of schedule."

"Like I should be calling you 'Trouble' instead of 'Brooke'." Bee replies dryly with a hint of mirth. "I did say anything though, and you're not the only friend I have to watch my words around. Guess I'm stuck with cutie." Shrugging and heaving a playful sigh, she folded her hands over her middle. "I'm not really all that familiar with Mossdeep if you've any ideas. I just want Rainbow to take it easy today, we've got this big fancy audience tomorrow, got us both a bit on edge."

"Hmmm, easy day..." she muses, "First thing that comes to mind is there's a grove a bit up in the hills. Bunch of flowers grow up there, and it's pretty sheltered from the wind. Bit of a hike, but I like climbing up there, just enjoying the sun and the smells. Close enough that there's never been anything really fighting around. How's that sound?"
"Have you been going there without me?" Rainbow teases. "I haven't been up there in ages."
"Maaaaaaaybeee…"

"A hidden mountain meadow on an island, basically all to yourselves? That sounds like paradise." Tucking her hair behind her antennae. "It was almost two months since you were even here last, how long did you stop going there for, before you left?"

"I think it was, like... half a season after the cold, something like that. Right as the flowers were really first blooming," Brooke says, thinking. "I've gone several times since then, but it's been a while with you. Too busy to do much out and about with me." She winks.
"Look," Rainbow says, "I was busy practicing. Even if I can span time, I need to make that time to practice in. Since existing at the same time..."
"Yeah, don't worry, I know. You don't need to defend yourself to me, I support you, always."
"Besides, we spent enough time close together."
"Yeah, but that still left the rest of the day empty..."

"Is there ever really enough time?" Bee asked Rainbow somberly, before a smile tickled the edges of her cheeks. "Ten hours won't be enough for today, and things go back to being serious tomorrow." Kicking her feet where they hung in the air, quite proud of her discovery, she debated before speaking again. "Were... you two... courting? I don't know what it's called in this time."

I'm not looking to be her life-partner or anything, if that's what you're worried about. That's really only specifically done if children get involved. We just like enjoying each others' company."

She holds Rainbow's hand gently, color spreading as far as her antennae and down to her neckline, red eyes moving to her feet. "In my time, same gender life-partners are... becoming increasingly more common, but I'd never thought quite that far with it..."

"The good news, though, cutie, is at least now you have plenty of time to think about it." Brooke grins. "Don't worry about it. Just go with what makes you happy."

Dropping into a bit of an embarrassed pout, she gently curls the base of her tail against Rainbow's hip. "I'm worried about a lot of things right now, but it'll never be that. You've been nothing but caring and sincere since I've met you. You two are too much together, you know that?" She visibly brightened. "I suppose... when each other is really the most important thing you've got, honesty and openness is the best way to keep what you have happy, together, and in good health. Thanks."

"Don't worry, Cutie, you two have had quite a busy time, from the sounds of it," she smiles. "I don't begrudge you. There'll be plenty of time after to do stuff, after all."

"Meant in a joking fashion, that together the two of you are something else, difficult, troublesome. Come on, let's the three of us go see this meadow of yours. I want to spend time with Brooke too. If she's on Chosen name basis, then I should definitely get to know her better too." She paused as the girl continued to watch her with worry. "I'm serious, come on! Besides, she's been flirting with me since I got here, I can't leave her lonely after all that effort!"
