When you get a phone, it gives you a number, and if someone puts that number into their phone, it links their voice to your phone. So you can hear, and talk to someone anywhere. They're really great. I've gotten a lot of human's phone numbers working here. Mostly males, but they were all very sweet." Em sits back as Thel muses over Whitney, and trades Serenity for Bliss.
"I guess that's fair, you can treat me to a meal this time. The girl smiled shyly and glanced at him from under her bangs, sitting a little taller in surprise as the new Pokemon appeared. Oh... she's very cute... She reminds me a little bit of my family with the green hair and pale skin. Would you like brushes too, Bliss?" At the question, Bliss turned excitedly to Thel and leapt into his arms for brushies, taking up the entirety of his lap.
The dragon looks up at Terra, a smug expression on its face, and saunters off its little rock over to the big rock. Looking over its shoulder, it seems very self assured. (Make one attack and damage roll please, with effectiveness treated as if it were striking a rock-type opponent. Add +5 if it is a fighting type move.)

"Oh wow..." Thel says. "That's incredible. So you don't have to even be close to someone to talk to them? Oh..." he remembers the previous night. "That's what Courtney was doing."
"I'm glad that you're fitting in well," he adds, "And that everyone's being so nice to you. I keep worrying that we won't fit in, but it seems like people are welcoming. So that's good. I haven't really run into anyone not that nice besides... those people that want us."
Thel laughs at Bliss, getting the Steenee's brush out. "I'd say that's a yes." He offers the brush over to Em. "If she prefers my lap, though, might be a bit awkward for you unless you squeeze up close to me."

The smug expression made Terra give a glare at just how confident the smaller pokemon looked. It agitated her inner Larvitar at that response to a challenge for the rock. She couldn't let that slide. It will learn better than to act like that, towards her anyway. A short moment passes before she rushes forward and strikes the the larger stone formation with a strongly formed fist. Terra uses Vital Throw!

Muku shifts on both of her feet, agitated and screaming. "Yeah! You smash him! You smash that rock! Rock got nothing on you! Yeah!~" She cries.
She didn't know whether or not that this screaming and shouting would be appreciated or not. Really, all Muku really wanted was for Terra to yeet that little guy into submission, but sometimes you can't get everything you hope for. Besides. Cheering from the sidelines is a proud Starly tradition. If one of these knuckleheads took issue with that, then they could try a talon in the face to sort them out.

The Steenee wails in abject protest, swatting at Em to try to get the brush back, clearly incensed, until the girl takes a step back and gingerly holds the brush out for the Pokemon to take. Immediately soothed, she offers it to Thel with a big smile. Em looks between the Pokemon and her trainer with measured confusion.
Three cries from the little dragon and two resounding cracks. There is a hesitation from the Gallade that judges striking force. A few heads turn around the field of trainees. Then slowly, Gallade raises the arm on Terra's side. The dragon plops down where it is and snorts huffily, and won't look at Terra. There is a sense of shame about it.

"What... what's the matter, girl?" Thel asks, just as confused as Em. He meets Em's eyes, questioningly, before focussing back on the Steenee. "Is there something wrong? It's okay... you can trust Em. She does good brushes. She won't hurt you, or anything. I promise." This is... very much something that he doesn't really know how to react to. Is she just very particular about brushes? That's what caused the previous issues, too.

The trainer watched the small dragon with patience but determination during its turn to attack the rock. Terra's stance stayed certain as she waited for the Gallade to judge, only looking around when she felt the sensation of being watched. Once the challenge was decided, her grin grew a little bigger.
At the dragon's response she watched it. "Don't sulk about it. You just need to train hard," she states in a blunt yet honest manner. She pauses for a moment "You could come with me. You can get stronger, and if you dare to, can challenge me again," she tempted him with that option to have another contest at later time.

Stenee makes a small, insistent noise, continuing to push the brush into Thel's hands, only settling and getting comfortable when he takes it. Em observes the behavior with keen interest, as though what she was seeing was very new to her.
With little encouragement, the Jangmo-o straightens itself up and presents proudly for Terra, humbled by the loss but embodying a proud warrior spirit. It slams its head scale against the rock again, sending a powerful metallic ringing through the clearing. It's acceptance excessively loud and vocal. It seems no less worse for wear despite the head trauma.
Terra catches a Jangmo-o (Level 25, Male, Proud, Counter, Protect, Screech, Headbutt, Dragon Tail, Work Up. Overcoat / Bulletproof)

"That's more like it. You can be mad, but don't linger on it!" Terra states seeing that the Jangmo-o recovered his prideful look. With the echoing metallic clang, an eye shut at the volume for a moment before it faded. She gives the small dragon a determined grin. "The defeat will give you fire to get stronger, right?" she asked him, taking out a pokeball and holding it out to him.

"It's fine Thel, I'm not terribly bothered." Em replied slowly, though she continues to watch the Steenee, an eyebrow raising just briefly. "Just be sure she isn't leveraging your feelings to take advantage." The girl stated with a small smile, the statement eliciting a little gasp and a huffy sound from the Pokemon in Thel's lap.
Jangmo-o's answer was to headbutt the ball hard enough that it bruised Terra's hand before actually drawing it in, as much a 'HOO-AH!' as anything she'd seen from it so far. Unlike the last engagement, the Gallade remained standing tall atop the hill. Looking between Terra and Muku, it beckoned them both up and moved to one side.

"I'm sure she wouldn't do that..." he says, though he briefly glances away from Em towards the Steenee. "I'm sure things'll settle down once we have more of a routine. I know I didn't really know what to do with myself the first few days..."
He gives Bliss some attention with brushes, but doesn't spend as much time as with Serenity. It wasn't something that Em was really involved in, and he wants to spend time with her, so he wraps up and gives Bliss the same mention about seeing her at dinner.
"I'm sorry," he says again. "I guess I expected her to reach out to others a bit more. I don't know if I should introduce Patience to you now, then... I mean, I want to, she needs to know that there are many nice people in the world, but what if she doesn't do well with others? I guess I could just recall her if there's a bad reaction, but..." He looks to Em for guidance. "I'll leave it up to you if you'd like to meet her."

The force of the headbutt had her smirk at the power she could feel against the palm of her hand. It would hurt later, but that was acceptable. As the pokemon disappeared into its new home, she would let the ball shrink for the time being, to see the red mark in her hand. This would be an interesting partner to work with.
Attention now looking to the pokemon that had judged their contest, she paused seeing the motion to come forth. She straightened up and climbed up the hill curious to know what it wanted from them. Terra glanced over to Muku as she did so.

Muku was right up behind Terra, face fixed in an expressive pout. Something about the Gallade bothered her. It was like she had 'seen it' before. But she was also pretty positive that she had simply just, not. She would remember a sword armed Pokémon with a head spike like that anywhere. Muku was a sucker for sweet head spikes.
Em maybe? Except this clearly wasn't Em. Related, maybe? She couldn't say anything for certain and the thinking about it made her head hurt. So she wouldn't. Except she would, because she couldn't. Ugh. Thinking was still both weird and awful. Those sweet days of Starly bliss where beeping was free and life came to swift and violent conclusions beckoned her softly from beyond a clean, glass door that she didn't know how to open.
But before she knew it, she was up on top of the hill next to this... Pokémon. There was no good way to avoid addressing this strange creature, but Muku found her way out of this social mess through Terra. Averting her eyes from the green gallant, she turns to Terra and says, "So, what do you think this guy wants?"

"Thel, anyone you can call a friend, I'd like to meet. Even if they're a bit eccentric." Em encouraged, though didn't comment any on Bliss' behavior. There wasn't much to say truly, not everyone was going to like her all the time. This certainly wouldn't have been the first time she'd been rejected in her life. Patience appears when Thel releases it, squat low, and slowly turns in place, inspecting each of the walls, Thel, and Em with calculated movements. Then back to Em, being the only foreign thing in the room.
"She seems nice enough... poor thing, I see what you mean. How could anyone just inflict something like that on another living creature."
The Gallade gestures out across the clearing of training Pokemon, then to itself and the massive rock under foot. It mimes a downward striking motion.

Her eyes dart up at the Pokémon, but just as quickly turn to the ground beneath her feet. He wanted them to... Break the rock? Muku bites her lip. "I don't break rocks. Rocks hurt, and birds don't like trying to break them. Boulders hurt more than my bones hurting boulders."

"It does make one question the whys of it, yes." Em affirmed as Patience edged closer to her, responding to Thel's statement with a "No?" The other human lays a hand out flat and holds it still, until the Joltik begins prodding it with a foreleg, and finally crawls onto her palm. Her face twists and she lets out a giggly-snort sort of noise. "It really tickles. I didn't actually like bugs a few years ago, but now they don't really bother me."

"Up until... well, a few days ago, and meeting Hope, I really only thought about bugs as food," he admits. "But they're so cute, I've found, and I couldn't imagine eating them anymore. The one holding Serenity in its web was mean. But, I mean... I don't blame it for trying to eat. Serenity's just a darling, and I don't want to imagine anyone having her for dinner. Did you also have a bad experience with bugs?" he asks, before apologizing, "Oh, sorry, I probably shouldn't ask and bring up bad memories."
