"Sure, if that's what you're wanting to do," Rainbow says. "Do what you need to to feel comfortable."
"Uh... she's not exactly ready," the woman says. "I wouldn't feel right sending her out on this. We pride ourselves on safety, and so we don't want to send out any team member who hasn't yet met our standards."

"Then... I guess whatever works best for you?" Beatrice gave the Dragonite one last apologetic pat. This was the difference between a Pokemon trained for battle or as a pet, this was a working individual in a difficult or potentially dangerous job, and she wasn't willing to take that risk for the sake of feelings.

The dragonite returns the pet, giving a sympathetic pat on the girl's head. "Alright," the woman says, nodding. "Let's get you all in the sky, so you can be in Sootopolis before dinner."
After paying, the group moves out to the back of the building, where two more Dragonite are waiting. "These here are Artemis," a little wave from the named Dragonite, "and Apollo," and a bit of a flex from that one. "They're siblings, very experienced. Feel free to divide yourselves up however you want." Both Rainbow and Yellow look at Bea.

"If it's all the same to you two, I think I'll fly alone. Well, alone-ish." Bee commented before releasing Baied. "I'd prefer to be secured as cargo, if it's all the same to you ma'am... I feel like it might make the difference to my emotional comfort and is worth experimenting with." She set her Pokemon's ball on the ground and took a breath.
"Alright Baied, wrap me up as best you can." The thin white lines of the Charjabug's eyes wander from Bee to her friends, and the large dragons, then back again, with the worm buzzing a question.

"We, uh, we don't... do cargo..." the woman stammers, in surprise. "Goods transport to Sootopolis is done by boat, we just... do passengers. If you can't be clamped into a saddle, or be carried by someone who can, we can't take you. It's simply not a thing that we're equipped to deal with. I can, uh, get you a refund if that doesn't work out for you. But there's no cargo class."

Taking a deep breath then, she digs around in her pack, her bug half climbing her leg as she unfastens a length of pink ribbon from her contest outfit. "I will have to get by with a blindfold then. Let's get this over with..."

Yellow and Rainbow get strapped in on Apollo, while Bea's helped onto Artemis and fastened in tightly, before the world goes dark as she cuts herself off from seeing anything. And then they're off, into the air. While the takeoff is fairly juddering, soon the fight levels out, leaving simply a rhythmic pounding of the wings and a rush of the air past her face and ears.
It seems to go on. And on and on and on, forever and ever. Occasionally she can hear what sound like calls from the other Dragonite, but they only serve as a reminder to where she is, and, more specifically, how high up. The darkness helps, but not entirely.
She does notice something strange, though. A bit of a red light in front of her closed eyes, beyond the blindfold, off to the side. And a little bit of a calming presence. It's a strange feeling. She's still aware of the fear, of the panic... but it seems to be held down a little bit. It's not confidence... but more comfort.

There was something external that she couldn't explain, but it felt good. Nice. She had separated herself from her friends, but now a pressure lay against her feelings, like a weighted blanket. It wasn't heartening, but rather reassured it would be alright.
Turning her head towards that light, Beatrice slowly lifted the bottom edge of her blindfold, carefully keeping her chin tilted up lest she take in too much of the below.

Peeking under the blindfold, it seems like the Dragonites are currently flying through some light clouds. Wispy, a little wet, and blocking the ground from view. But the presence in the air next to her isn't another Dragonite. Instead, from what she can see, it's a sleek red and white... flying something. Not a bird, the wings don't flap, maybe a dragon? But it looks to give her a comforting smile as the travellers speed through the air, the Pokémon effortlessly matching speed.

Gingerly offering the good natured creature a thankful smile and a little wave, she wondered how it had found them. Admittedly it was a really big sky, and Dragonite were an unsubtle shade of orange and tan against all the blue and white... and down went the blindfold again, with her leaning further into the saddle and holding against her ride with an emotional flutter. "Hello!" She called against the wind. "I don't mean to be rude but I'm terrified of heights! You probably knew that already!"

She isn't sure if it heard her or not, but there's a warbling cry that's clearly heard through the wind that fades off as the light moves away. Bea's left alone for the remainder of the journey, and the reassurance does begin to fade... before abruptly, she finds the wind has stopped, and the Dragonite gently alights on the ground. A person on the other side helps the trio to dismount, and leads the Dragonites away for food, letting the Trainers go out into Sootopolis proper.
"Brr…" Rainbow says, as they walk outside. "If we ever do something like that again, I need some warmer clothe..." she trails off, as she sees the true scale of the city. White walls of stone rising up, houses carved into elevating rings, all overlooking a harbour. "Whoa. Looks way more impressive here than from the sky..."

"That Pokemon was really nice, I wonder what it was." Bee commented, wobbling unsteadily as she found her landlegs once more. "So this is Sootopilis... It's nice. I should look into extended lodgings, as I'm not sure how long it will take to complete the history capsule. Did you want to tour the city Yellow, Rainbow? As with most places, I've never been."

"What Pokémon?" Rainbow asks, "The Dragonite?"
"She probably felt me," Yellow says, to Bea. "Came to investigate. I felt her, though I didn't see her."
"She who? Who she?"
"And I don't care one way or another what you do. I'll probably end up wandering around while you all do whatever you're doing anyways."
Rainbow sighs, with a bit of a frustrated look on her face.

"...Curious." The trainer comments before explaining to Rainbow. "It was a red and white dragon-like Pokemon with a triangular mark on its forehead, I think it may have also been performing some manner of psychic feat, similar to the telepathy I've experienced in the past, but on an empathic front. It flew without motion, at incredible speed too. Our Dragonite couldn't keep pace with it when it decided it was ready to go."

"Ah, well… I'm not really good for identifying things by descriptions," Rainbow says. "But, I don't really recognize it."
"She was a Latias," Yellow says, at last answering the question. "A draconic embodiment of the mystical wanderlust of the land, one of a pair of dragons. They appear to those who need guidance, or help. But they're fickle, for those who abuse their trust turn them away for a long, long time."
"That does sound familiar..." Rainbow muses. "There was a legend, we had. About magical dragons, who played with the children of the land. Until one day, one who played with them returned as an adult to get them to help him again. And then they left, and were never seen again. A tale of caution, of the dangers of trying to change the status quo. For you may break it for everyone, forever." It's a story that Bea's heard, too. Though it was a Trainer trying to catch them, rather than simply seeking aid. But she's pretty sure that Rainbow does not have the intended lesson the story's trying to teach...

"That legend is passed along in my village too, though it is about a trainer attempting to take the friendly aid offered and go a step farther to shackle and own the Pokemon." Bee considered quietly. "Your version of the lesson rings gently of an establishment on s difficult foundation attempting to maintain order."

"Ah, hmm..." Rainbow says, mulling it over. "Things do shift and change over time. I don't imagine that any in my time would really comprehend capturing, so I can see why it would shift. I certainly would never have interpreted capturing as anything other than a death wish before this. Keeping something that wants to kill you alive, and near you..."
"I wonder what else has changed throughout the years. Not been lost, but just... shifted around."

"Well, Sootopolis' library is the biggest in the region, you will have plenty of opportunity to read up on subjects and learn about this era, before the dark ages. I promise to help you in any way I can, in the reading or understanding aspect of things." Brushing at her dress she considered the position of the sun.
"I will hold off on the gym for a few days, Crassi, Tempu, and eventually Limul will get really restless if they don't get in a good fight... Though I suppose I could use the opportunity to train myself and eschew my Pokemon."

"There was something there that you were looking for in the library specifically, right?" Rainbow asks. "Since you were wanting to come here before the whole history capsule thing. … we should probably figure out how we want to do that, exactly, admittedly."
Words are lost, though, as a bend is rounded and there is a lack of buildings in front of them for the first time. And the sheer scale of the city can be appreciated. Many tiers below, there is a dropoff into an enormous body of water. So big that the buildings on the far side look almost as small as ants. Boats go to and fro across the crater lake, carrying people around. There's a small tunnel opening in the wall to the group's right, towards the south, letting boats in and out. And opposite that, still clearly visible despite the distance, is a resplendent stone building, as white as the surroundings, built on a peninsula jetting out over the water, that looks like it would be the Gym.
"Whoa. I don't believe that I'm actually seeing this..."

"It really is a marvel of the region." Beatrice agreed with a smile, looking skyward. "I can only imagine this crater was nearly an extinction event at one point. At any rate, yes, Maxie's files were of a great deal of interest to me and my research."
Leaving a few moments to take in the grandiose sight in silence, she fumbled for the usual comfort of her pockets, something to do with her hands, and found them missing. Her biggest complaint about dresses to date. "The best thing to do would be first to establish a long lasting storage medium, physical being a safer option then data, not knowing the machinery you have access to."
She considered the looming, proud structure of the gym for a quiet moment. "From there, we will go down the list of topics and prioritize what to place in this attempt. I would suggest basic educational materials, medicine, and engineering. As I will be going in person, so with those resources on hand I can see what can be done for illuminating an era beyond a dark age."
