"It was one of their red women. That's who stopped me." Muku says, one arm clutching her elbow as she leaned forward on the offered chair. She was still much too excited to consider trying to sit down now. "This Archie. He's not dangerous too is he? I tried to battle the woman but her Pokémon was something else; Goldsire got taken out in a single hit. A-and then I got knocked out for a bit."
She scratches idly at her arm uncomfortably. "I still don't know what she even attacked me for. One moment I was running, then I was down. A-and then I woke up I knew I needed to find you and Thel." She pauses for a moment, then looks at Terra quizzically. "What's so important about the ocean though? That's a really weird thing to say."

"I haven't seen any red dressed people," Terra replied with a frown as Muku retold her own experience of running into someone. "So far, he hasn't attacked or hurt me. So I don't know how dangerous he could be," she admitted.
"However, maybe... she was part of this other team he was talking about. Magma I think it was?" It didn't seem like too far a stretch, right? Aqua was wearing blue, so Magma could theoretically be red.
"No clue, he spoke about being from a different world, where the ocean dried up because of the other."

"Hey, no!" Whitney barked indignantly. "You earned that dress! If it makes you happy then you wear it, and you wear it proudly! Serenity was key in you and your friend's victory over my gym, without her slowing down my Miltank she would have trampled the bunch of you!"
Steadying herself, she rested a hand on Thel's shoulder firmly, mood sliding back towards relaxed after the outburst. "Things aren't black and white for humans. If you are worried about not living up to this... I dunno, standard of being a Lady? Then do it. Your gender has no bearing on that now, be powerful and respectable, protect and take care of your friends. Only you can define yourself, Thel."
Splash wriggles to the far side of Terra, away from Rat as it approached. Rat smelled of salt water and fur. One of those things was okay. Splash missed fresh water.
Rat stares expectantly up at Muku, it found a uniform, even if someone was wearing it, and it did the thing. SHOW ME THE HONEY!

"Ah." Is all he can find himself being able to say for a moment after it all quiets down. "I'll, uh, I'll try and do good. I just... I just want to fit in. Find a place. But... you know better than I do how this all works." He gives her a smile. "I'll try and live up to those standards... if I can. Be strong, a presence... not having to try and bother others with my problems. I guess... I have a chance here to try and be someone who's represented by how I act, not how I've been treated all my life. People don't know me. There've already been people here who've treated me like a lady, so... I guess I've at least been living up to some of that standard..." He's rather nervous and unsure of himself, though. Things aren't exactly off to a great start.

Muku opened her mouth to speak, only to get distracted by the rat sitting beside her and begging for food. She closed her eyes and let a short snort of annoyance. The creature irked her with it's incessant begging. It's not like it fought bees to get this, right? Right. Nonetheless, she reaches into her pocket and dismissively tosses the honey glob at the rat before turning back to Terra with a dour expression.
"They could be two different groups. This one seems so much more different than the lady who attacked me or the science people who..." She bites her lip as she stares off into the ocean. "This doesn't mean that Archie is a good person though. Oceans don't just 'dry up.' Do they?"

"Apples and oranges." Whitney stated plainly, and when Thel looked confused she answered with a vague gesture. "You are comparing two completely different things. I don't know what a Lady was for a Pokemon, but a Lady for a human is demure, cultured, soft spoken, gentle. You're already working towards some of it, and have the rest down pat."
Tilting her head, she squinted at nothing in particular for a moment. "If I remember right, there is a charm school in Olivine. The Kimono sisters in Ecruteak also give lessons on posturing and service. If that's the kind of thing you would be interested in?"
Rat catches the glob in his paws and scoots off to eat it on Terra's bed. There was only one bed. There was also only one rat. Splash creeper moved closer, low to the ground, little legs wriggling as the Raticate savored the flavor.

"For a Salandit, a Lady is all. She is the power, the authority, the one that everything is given for. She is judgement, gives punishment and very, very occasionally praise... but it was mostly punishment." He shudders a little thinking about it. "But... those other things sound nice."
"They have been things that I've only just been learning about. But they are... magical. Kindness. Love. Caring. It breeds a kind of devotion that rivals that of the Lady's. That was chains of lust, chemicals and ultimate authority... I don't want to be that. I don't want people to want to be with me just because they know no other life, because I make them... the more I learn, the more I want to distance myself from that life. I... I want to be able to have the power to keep my friends safe, but I... I don't want anything else that comes with that power."
"I can't go back to Ecruteak, though," he says, shaking his head. "Not yet. I said I wouldn't until I was strong enough, and knew what I wanted to do in the world. ...I still am lacking in both of those things. Olivine, though... where is that? And what sort of things would be needed to get into this 'school'? Is it the same as the stores, where it's paying with coins? Or is it like the Gyms, where you have to fight?"

"Salandit? Can't say that's a Pokemon I've ever heard of before. They must not be local." Whitney shrugged. "Safari projects have been moving new species into the Kanto and Johto area for awhile now, and sometimes the Pokemon get loose. Could be a Mount Silver sort of thing." Scratching her nose, she perked at his question.
"They're pretty exclusive, it isn't something you can just battle your way into. Fighting with grace is definitely part of what they teach, but it gets into table manners, music and art. Fashion, hosting parties, cooking. It's a lot of girly-girl stuff. Mom sent me once, as a graduate I can write you a letter of recommendation. Olivine is West of Ecruteak, home of Johto's lighthouse, and where Jasmine has her gym."

As she listened to Muku, she found one of the towels. It wasn't a lot, but more than nothing. "I wouldn't go that far to call him good, after all. He kidnapped me, because this Maxie person wanted me." Passing the towel over to her she glanced towards the porthole window with an uneasy look.
"Said that he couldn't let them have their way again, something like that. So I dunno. But he said he didn't care if I was a pokemon or not, didn't want to know, so that was a nice change."

Muku takes the towel from Terra and begins to start patting out some of the more annoying bits of still-clinging water as she listened. A truth like this was hard to believe. Humans were capable of being truly horrible. She knew that first hand. Truth be told, she didn't know if she could trust Terra yet either. But the alternative was trusting no one, and Muku refused to make herself alone like that. Not yet anyways. The towel gets wrapped around the back of the chair as Muku begins to lean in.
"Let's make a plan to get out of here. I don't trust Archie. If he's got a problem with Maxie, he can figure it out with Maxie and we can move on with our lives. Their weird little spat doesn't involve us."

"Mountain sounds about right for where I lived," he nods. "Black lizards, with red stripes and patterns on the back. Sweet smelling. If any of that rings a bell." He shrugs, before laughing. "I wouldn't expect you to know every Pokémon out there, though. I keep running into things that I never could have imagined existed."
"Oh. Well... all that stuff sounds important, and I don't even know what it all even is," he admits, sheepishly. "I wouldn't want to impose on you, though... you haven't even known me for a day..."
"Olivine, though... that sounds familiar..." he muses, before 'Jasmine' rings a bell. "Oh, that was that other Gym Morty was telling us about, the Steel one that sounded really dangerous. The one Omega was really wanting to do."

"I'll send a letter ahead, it'll only take a few minutes and it will help you figure out what you want. We ate together, so we're friends now." The gym leader winked playfully. "That is Jasmine alright, she is something else. She takes care of the Lighthouse and its Pokemon, is apparently really good at the whole medicine thing. Cares a lot but shows it with how she acts more then how she talks and carries herself."
Bracing her arms behind her head, she settled again. "As long as your friends weren't taken from the region, you'll find them again, I am sure of it."
Through the porthole, in the distance, there is a brilliant flash high above that illuminates the water the whole way to where your ride sits. Every three seconds like clockwork. On the far side of it, mountains. Land.

"Oh, is that how it works?" Thel asks. "Eating food with people is how you become friends? I see... I'll have to keep that in mind." He nods understandingly, taking it entirely seriously. "Why is it called a light house? None of the other places that I've been in so far have been dark."
"I should probably make sure to see L- Courtney before I do anything else, though. If nothing else, at least she has contact with other people, so that if Muku and Terra end up back here without me or something, at least they'll know where I went..."

The issue of trusting was a familiar thing to Terra, after all, she was used to being alone. However, being human made that difficult. So she had been adopting a 'partial' type of trust. She could trust to certain levels. A good example being she trusted Muku more than Archie.
At the flashes of light coming through the window, Terra squints some to make out where they were heading towards. "We're in luck, seems we're getting to some land," she states before looking back to her companion. "How do we want to do this plan?" she adds curiously.

"Quickly?" Muku replies as she shoves the towel into her bag. "Goldsire should be stronger now and they can swim fast. You can swim too, right?"
Her eyes flit around the room like a terrible goblin. If they were going to bail and if she was going to be a blackbird, she could at least take a few other things with her, right?

"Johto's lighthouse is a tall tower that guides ships by directing a long beam of light out across the ocean. It keeps them from crashing into anything and is the halfway point between Goldenrod and Cianwood by sea. I'll see you out, but I'm not ready to go home yet."
Guiding Thel to the gym doors, she looked up and down the still well lit street. "If your friends left anything here in town, you should probably gather it up so they don't lose it, before you head out. I'll send Mom a Nav that you are coming... She waits up when I stay out like this. I'd take someone with you, but I can't go. Good luck Thel."
Blankets, plates, Rat, another spare uniform, Splash, several towels. Not much of great value in here really. Muku does find the equivalent of a potion (being a half used super potion) in the garbage.

"We don't exactly have anything besides what we carry around..." Thel says. "But... thank you. For everything. I'll try to make sure to not disappoint."
He gives her another smile, before beginning to make his way with his Pokemon back towards the house, to meet up with Courtney.

"About as good a plan as any," Terra admits before helping her scrounge through the room for anything useful she might have missed. Though there hadn't been much of anything to begin with.
"As for swimming... Larvitar... don't exactly swim, and I haven't the time nor the real appeal of attempting," she admits with a slightly sour expression. "But I think Splash might be able to help me a little," she states glancing back towards the blue pokemon.

Muku nods as she shoves literal trash into her bag over the top of the spare uniform. "Splash will do. I think Splash can at least maybe float. Then if we kick and we kick, we'll eventually reach the shining house and maybe not drown."
She takes a deep breath in and out. "Are you ready?" Muku asks. "If we get spotted, we're just going to need to move. Them having to stop the bobber might keep them busy, but it won't be for long. And... That's bad. So. But we can do this. We can do this..."

Bliss insists on being carried, and after some coaxing to placate what is probably not actually being put out, the Steenee sits proudly astride Thel's shoulders. Hope sleepily returns to her Pokeball, and before long the Grass type dozes adorably while curled against the back of her Trainer's head. It seems with all the excitement of the day, and the growing late hour, they are ready for a good rest.
Serenity pushes the gate open for Thel when he arrives at his destination, the porch light on over the upscale yard, the only one on this particular Street. Looking tired, a cup of something dark and strong smelling in hand, Courtney waves the boy inside to have a seat. Serenity is content to sit in the yard, and gives a yawn, glancing skyward at the position of the Moon.
"The good news is that boat is pretty distinct apparently, and regularly stops in the three Western port cities in Johto, though it does range as far as Vermilion in Kanto. It does not narrow things down much, for where they have gotten to in the moment." Courtney offered consolingly. "I've been in touch with the harbor authority though, and the next time it is spotted making landfall, I'll be notified. Do you know where you are headed? Have a PokeGear or Nav?'
Splash side-eyes Terra from under his pad, sharing his Mistress' sharp eyed quality. The little Pokemon didn't vocalize, but for the length of the stare it was clear it wasn't happy with the idea.
Rat, having finished his meal, plopped down in front of Muku and waited, as though to ask 'more food?' Or 'now what?' Could have been either really.
