Bedding down late the night before, with the hatching of Muku's egg and the heavy meal long after dark despite the summer hours, the next morning is a late start. The low bustle and rumble of the city picks up as businesses open, workers and trainers begin to mobilize in the streets, and the world continues to turn. Breakfast comes halfway between the normal time and lunch, surprising Thel and Terra with a new mealtime that sits between the two, and different foods served therein; Brunch. How many meals could a human fit in a day? Five? Seven? Training attended to after a filling meal and some milling about, Kursz excuses himself to the Underground once more, muttering something about 'not wanting into the system'. He gives Muku a shiny rock as a gift before he leaves. He has no idea what it does.
Muku gets an Evo Stone, it is shiny.
On arriving at Goldenrod's gym, the place is welcoming and a bit cutesie from a girly-girl point of view. Whitewashed walls, carpeted floors, potted plants, low windows. It almost seems like the place doubles as some sort of care taking center, with the attendants looking after small, common, very ordinary looking Pokemon. Finding Whitney herself is easy, the leader planting her hands on her hips in a wide stance. "I know that look! You must be trainers, here to challenge me for the Plain Badge! Welcome to the Goldenrod Gym, I'm Whitney!" She declares proudly and boisterously. Unlike Morty, and Lance, who had appeared to be much older by human standards, Whitney is quite young, perhaps younger than even Muku.

Huh. This must be why humans had no issues with eating. They just ate all times of the day. Instead of just at the start and the end. Of course, he snacked during the day, too, but that's a normal thing to do? Wild.
Thel just grooms his Pokémon, and feeds them - especially Serenity, to make up for the prior day - snacks. He offers them to Muku and Terra, too, if they want.
"Yes, that's why we're here, Lady Whitney," Thel says, at the Gym. "I must say, this place is much more welcoming than the last place that we went to. That was all dark and grim. I like this one more."

"Muku doesn't know about that. Muku kinda liked the last place after a bit." She says with a shrug. Morty's Gym was ominous surroundings felt like a place where you would battle. This felt entirely different to an extreme degree. There were people playing with Pokémon, which Muku didn't even know you could do.
She had of course, spent her own morning getting ready for the battle today, but it took some doing to get used to her newest party member. Sword was their name, she decided. They wouldn't be battling today, but at the very least they could perhaps acquire power from watching her in battle.
What a battle it would be. She did the math in her head quietly about who to pick and who to battle with earlier. Normal-Types like herself were about as straightforward as it gets in their strengths and weaknesses. Punchy bros were the only real way to go to get real damage in, but they didn't always bully Normal Types anyways. Course, this was a battle so. Well. She hoped her Punchy bro power was enough.

There was a shimmer in Terra's eye at finding even more new foods to try during this Brunch. She once again got a pretty large helping for herself. Finally finishing her last serving, helped herself to some toothpicks, putting one between her teeth and stowing the rest for a later time.
Even though she couldn't consume stones or earth any longer, there was an instinctual stare at the stone that Muku was given. A moment needed to shake herself out of it mentally. Instead turning her attention to training her pokemon to prepare for the challenge of the day. At Thel's offer, she considers it, accepting the offer for one snack for her pokemon.
Why was everything so bright inside? It hurt her eyes some at first. She was much more adjusted to darker colors, more natural. However, that's not why they were here. They were here for a battle! An eagerness in her eyes some as Whitney made her introduction. Glad that they didn't have to look long or hard.

"Well alright then! You asked for it! Heeere we gooooo!" Whitney promptly releases three Pokemon. The first is small and pink skinned with short wings, a curly tail, and rosey cheeks. Bearing large ears and a coy snaggle-toothed smile, it gives an appreciative wave. The second is a sturdy looking bovine in a similar shade of pink to the first, with black splotches, and an udder dominating its front. The third, white and winged, with blue and red triangles across it's body, and a many pointed crown to the Pokemon's head.
"You can use two Pokemon each! First team to fall is the loser!"

Muku stifles a terrible yawn. Her opponents- They were so... Normal! Just like she assumed despite having no real data to base that presumption on! She stifles the thought, making her way to across from the Clefairy and sending her first Pokémon; the Watery-Good form of Whoopie Goldsire, Wooper extra-ordinary. "Me and Whoopie has this one; go get that two! Kiyiyiyah!"Muku starts the fight at 12.
Whoopie Goldsire brings in the back end of Initiative with a 2.

"Alright," Thel says, "sounds simple enough." He's extremely worried inside, though. This is supposedly going to be much more difficult than the last. He fears he isn't ready. But... he has to show that he's strong enough. Strong enough, at least, to help the others win. "Alright, Serenity," he says, calling upon the noble fox, releasing her in front of the winged, triangled being, "warm this place up!" Motes of fire spring to life around the vulpine as she stretches and shakes her fur. Thel uses Brutal Training. Initiative 15 for Vulpix, it uses Fox Fire.

Even the gym leader's pokemon were bright colored and pink, somehow it was still a bit surprising. However seeing the three pokemon released before them, she glances to each of her new team mates as they release their own pokemon for the match and picked their opponents. "Alright Queen, let's start things off with a strong lead!" Tara states in a firm confident tone. Grabbing a ball from her belt and releasing a beam of light from it. A blue pokemon a bit more than half her size, with spikes growing from its back, appears with eyes that match her trainer's. A decent sized Nidorina stands before the cow pokemon, taking the middle position and giving a bit of a flex to loosen up and glancing back towards Tara before nodding some. Tara Initiative: 6 Queen Initiative: 11

"Clefairy, we'll show them how you're better then the rest, a regular top percent! MilMil, Defense Curl!" Miltank furls up in a ball, round, black bob of a tail poking up in the air as it huddles in on itself. (Whitney binds Plainly Perfect on Clefairy.) Map

"Alright, stay focused on that pink and black ball," Tara states pointing at the Miltank. Queen doesn't take her eyes off of the target. "Let's start with a bit of a distant attack. See how it likes a Poison Sting, first." Tara tags MilMil with Duelist. Queen uses Poison Sting on MilMil. Accuracy Bonus 1 from Focused Training. Miltank, still in her defensive posture shows no indication of being remotely bothered by the hit from the Nidorina, Clefairy advances and huddles in on itself, similarly using Defense Curl, Togetic coming in at an angle and giving a twirl and excited honk that seems to attract and incense Woopie and Queen both.
Until the end of Togetic's next turn, Queen and Woopie must target it with moves that are not self-target.

Honk. HONK! Muku lets out a screeching cry and points at the Togetic with anger. Whoopie understood. Maybe not the anger, but the idea that the Togetic was the only correct foe to attack. So they got to it, unleashing a furious pair of kicks in it's direction! Double Kick with Brutal Orders! Miltank begins picking up speed in place, throwing chunks of the arena floor out in waves behind itself before bowling along the terrain and into, under, and through Queen, taking a wide angled turn to reverse direction and make the return trip.
(Queen takes 41 Normal Physical Damage)

Things seem rather dicier than they did a moment ago, Thel figures. Appraising the situation, that cow seems to be Bad News. "Uh… Serenity, can you do anything about that rolling one? It seems to be very powerful."The fox nods in understanding, before walking over to position itself. It elegantly inhales... before breathing out writhing chains of fire that engulf the Miltank, squeezing and burning, restricting the 'mon's movements. Thel uses Brutal Training. Serenity uses Fire Spin on Miltank, expending a Dry Wafer - +10 damage, +1 effect range for the Scene, and 8 Temp HP from Thel spending an AP. 20 vs AC 4. 57 Special Fire damage, and trapped in a Vortex. Critical hit!

The impact of the Miltank's attack definitely did a number on Queen, however the pokemon was still up. Giving out a cry as she pressed her back into the balled up pokemon, injecting some venom into the opponent. Terra forms a fist with one of her hands. Stupid pink cow. And stupid egg with wings. "Put a little space between you, then get that egg with the same attack!" Terra ordered. The Nidorina nodded backing away from Miltank once and turning her attention to the Togetic firing another barrage of purple needles. Queen activates Poison Point on Miltank. Disengages from Miltank. Poison Sting Togetic. 2+1 from focused training vs AC2. 24 physical poison.

"Time to change the game a little bit, don'tcha think? Clefairy, it's your turn to be the center of attention! Togetic, Air Cutter the cute little Poliwog!"
Clefairy uses Follow Me! All attacks must target it for the next turn. Togetic turns and fires savage blades of air down upon Woopie, for 53 Flying Special Damage. It's a Critical Hit!

Even as Serenity's attention is drawn to the Clefairy, a mote of fire surrounding it shoots off at the humanoid, severely burning it in response. The Vulpix's only response is to chitter in a 'tsk'ing manner. Using Ember as a Free Action Reaction through Fox Fire targeting Clefairy. 17 vs AC 2, for 34 Special Damage and a Burn.

"Hit him again! Honk that honker!" Muku cried with reckless furor. But the honker was not honked. Whoopie Goldsire was much too distracted by the foe to the north, so instead they run over and give that Clefairy two kicks to the face! Double Kick against Clefairy! Brutal Orders all around. An Opportunity Attack is invoked against Whoopie. Whoopie just don't care. Miltank, wreathed in flame and bellowing like an unseemly hellbeast reverses direction and ploughs into and through Queen once more with incredible force, but it is clear that the poisons and fire are wearing on it.
Togetic swipes at Whoopie with a wing, for a whole 15 Normal Physical damage.
Miltank takes a Tick of Damage from Poison and a tick from Fire Spin. szHjZoqc1d20 Save Vs. Fire Spin
Queen takes 64 Normal Physical Damage, before defenses.1d20

Serenity inhales once more, before firing off another burst of fire at the Clefairy. Seeing the hit, it flicks its tails, and daintily bounces back away from both the humanoid and the angry cow. "Probably best to try and scatter from that thing," Thel says to Muku, nervously. "It took out Lady Terra's so quickly..."
Thel uses Brutal Training. Serenity uses Ember on Clefairy (since it has to), spending another Dry Wafer and an AP. 9 vs AC 2, for 40 Special Fire damage.
