The rest of Viridian Forest is uneventful, and nobody really hangs out on Route 2, so there is only Pewter ahead now. Pewter, despite its name, has a helluva lot more color than most would expect. Black and purple banners are hung in various places around town, especially around the Gym. If asked, anyone will tell you that it is the colors of the Gym Leader's clan. Apparently they are originally from rural Johto and came here for...reasons.

Mayu earns 16 Poke XP and 1 Misc XP. As this was a 'practice' match to allow Mayu to get a feel for the type of Pokemon the Gym may use, there was no money involved.

Mayu wanders around Route 3, searching for Pokemon. At some point, she hears a strange jingling sound. Like keys rattling together. It takes a bit to find the source, and then she spies something attempting to get into her bag. A Klefki, based on the sounds it was making. Seems it wants to see if she has any keys to steal.
