Hey, these things do actually attack! Alpha tries again with the punching. Mayu shakes her head in irritation and tries to aim her ice better.

Shuckle #1 is defeated, but it takes both attacks to do it (Sturdy).
Shuckle #2 claps for Alpha again.

Alpha blinks a little. The clapping is starting to get annoying. He turns around to punch the one who tried to roll into him; Mayu likewise focuses on that one.

These things are annoyingly hard to hit. Alpha balls up his fists for another smashing blow. Mayu keeps trying with the ice.

Alpha gazes grimly down at the oncoming Shuckle, and greets it with a suddenly outstretched fist. These things have hard shells, but if he can turn their own force against them...
Ow.
Mayu, sensing that the attacks being thrown around here are perhaps a little out of her weight class, throws one last handful of icy shards and retreats to a safer distance.
Alpha uses Counter. Shuckle #3 loses 38 hp. Alpha uses Endure on the second Rollout.

Shuckle #2 takes the hit and just looks down at Riolou's hand/paw-thing. Then it looks at Riolu. Then back at the paw. Then at Riolu again. It's look says "was that supposed to hurt?". Then it plonks back into its shell and starts the rolling process again.

Alpha scowls at the stupid rock-bug. Make fun of him, will it? He'll... okay, he'll try the same thing again, but hopefully harder this time. Not as if it's doing much better, he bats it away from him easily before it can crash into him. Meanwhile, Mayu is starting to think she'd be better off weakening the creatures than trying to injure them. They seem very resilient.

Those were interesting, if a little tedious. Mayu contemplates returning to the Pokemon Center, but only two of her Pokemon are down and none are injured yet (even if Alpha is on his last legs)... she'll press on a little further, maybe visit the Center on the other side of Mt Moon.

Mayu knows what these are. Rare. Valuable. Strong enough to scratch steel and tough enough to shrug off bullets, wielding both psionic and magnetic power as weapons. Synthetic in appearance, though unlike Voltorb or Porygon nobody knows who created it (if it was created at all). She wants one. And conveniently, she has just the Pokeball for the job.
