From: pokemonbypost.boards.net/post/99329/threadEncounter 1/3 Rolling for route 21, a mostly sea route. q1UpjUwX1-100With Pichu riding on her shoulder, Gene clumsily strode along the ocean shore. Waves on one side, tall grass on the other, and zero survival skills on her person. What she did have, however, were particularly sharp eyes and ears that she used to scan the waves and keep her guard up for any surprise attacks from wild animals. 1-100

In the small Pallet Peninsula just south of the town proper, Gene Eric spies several "Water-Type Starters" playing in the surf while a handful of Sandile sun themselves on rocks well away from the water. There are some other Pokemon around too. Now, where to go first?

Sandile were a ground type. Right now, the only thing Gene's little Birthday would be able to give them was a present, or an easy meal.
However, they would be good ground type practice for the water types playing in the surf, assuming she caught one.
Following this logic, Gene approached the ocean first, and peered out into the waves to see if she could make out the Pokemon and more of what they were doing.

Most of the water-types appear to be Totodile and Piplup competing with one another (playfully) by seeing whose water or physical strikes are stronger.

Gene stared at the two traditional starters and made her decision. taking the Pichu that was mussing up her hair off of her head, she held her between her two hands and oh dear god. What have I done? They use the same pronouns.
PICHU IS NOW A DUDE. I REPEAT. PICHU IS NOW A DUDE.
Gene held the now male Pichu in between her two hands and got him all pumped, "Alright, little guy? You ready to go? I need you to put that naughty nature of yours to use and get the Totodiles' attention. Even better, pick a fight with the Totodile. Remember, this is all for training."
[Focused Training Orders]
To which, the Pichu didn't look awfully too convinced about, but didn't debate. Not matter the reason, he didn't mind a chance to stir up trouble. With angelic cuteness, he cheered an affirmative, "Pi!" before being released and set loose to spread all hell.
The yellow rate ran to the edge of the shore until its tiny little paws were just barely being lapped in the waves. Then, after a too-cute charge up animation, complete with, "Pi pi pi pi pi," and copious amounts of cheek rubbing, it released a Thundershock at the nearest Totodile!

After which, it would "Bleeeeeeh!," stick its tongue out, and yell something about all three of the Totodiles' mothers.

The biggest of the Totodile takes offense to Pichu's statement about their mother and steps forward, only to be zapped. Oh, it's on now! Totodile sprays Pichu with a jet of water.

Totodile is surprised when it is first healed, then the target of its ire is taken from it, followed by a Poke Ball sailing right over its head and landing in the water. The ball startles a Wingull that was floating peacefully in the surf and it quickly flaps away with a disgruntled squawk.
Totodile looks at the ball, then back at Gene, then back to the ball, then back again. Was... Gene aiming for the Wingull or it?

Gene answers by throwing another ball. Maybe this time her luck will be better.

Gene looked through the Totodile's information and considered for a bit. She eyed the remaining totodiles... Wondering if she could attempt to capture them without risk of the balls sinking and being lost forever.
You know, assuming the Totodile were still there... One of their friends had been attacked and suddenly captured, after all.

The remaining Totodile seem to be debating what to do. The Piplup are staying out of it, and one of the Sandile has turned to watch in bemusement.

Gene lifted up two balls and just outright asked the Totodile, "Wanna join your buddy?". Quite honestly, she added, "I'm looking for a bit of a different type of Totodile than your buddy, and you two might be more up my alley. Plus, if you all join, you can keep on playing together. It's not quite my place yet, but my family gave me a large acreage of land for all of the Pokemon I'll collect. There's lots of room to play there." She was greedy enough to try again, yes, but on second thought, she decided she didn't feel so greedy as to pelt more Totodiles with balls. She could work with the one she had right now. It would just take a bit of monetary investment.

The two remaining Totodile look at one another again, even forming a cute little 'huddle' as they consider the possibilities. Gene Eric can certainly hear them (they're not nearly as quiet as they think), but she can't understand them without Poké DNA. Alas, gene therapy always takes ages, especially if your DNA is as muddled as Gene Eric's is. Not really feasible to do in the middle of a Pokemon Journey. Well, whatever. That's not important right now. What is important, however, is the fact that the two Totodile tap the balls in sync and get sucked in.
Totodile #1 is level 2, Male, Stark, with Hyper Cutter.
Totodile #2 is level 2, Male, Distracted, with Torrent.

Pocketing her balls, Gene noticed that, to the side, a Sandile has also started watching curiously.
"Ne ne," she asked while turning, pulling out yet another ball from her evidently infinite supply, "Are you also interested in joining? There's free food and plenty of free room. Plus, if you sign up with your friends, you won't even have to say goodbye~".

Hm. Turns out there are only two Sandile in total. Seemed like there were more earlier...maybe she imagined it? Well, whatever. Gene doesn't have infinite Poke Balls anyhow. In fact, she's probably already running low after catching 3 Totodile already. The Sandile seem pretty content with sunning themselves on this nice, warm rocks...but at the same time, the offer of free food that they don't have to work for is preeetty tempting. After a few minute-long staring contest with the "lead" Sandile, they eventually agree to the deal for the easy food. Seems they're a bit lazy.
Sandile #1 is level 7, Male, Docile, with Moxie.
Sandile #2 is level 1, Male, Proud, with Intimidate.

From: pokemonbypost.boards.net/post/99402/threadGene entered route 1 after healing her Pokemon at Pallet Town, ready to get moving with her journey. Nothing strange or unusual. Simply very generic. Viridian City would be the next destination, and hopefully she would make it there before nightfall. Why? Because she didn't have a sleeping bag or tent. A naughty Pichu hitched a ride in her purse. He looked as good as new, and not the least bit deterred from the earlier mishap with the level 10 Totodile.

A particularly strong gust of wind sends a poor Hoppip careening into Gene's face.
