After a catastrophic challenge of the Cerulean gym, Daidouji took another 5 days to train. She worked her pokemon, and herself to breaking point. Now, it was time to finally get some results. With an angry scowl, she stomped her way into the gym, and waited for fight to begin. No time for water/pool shenanigans.

Leader Aleisandra emerges from her office only a few minutes later, wearing a stunning bikini. She smiles politely at Daidouji.
"Welcome to Cerulean Gym, Challenger. This battle will utilize four Pokemon per side, with two out at a time. Whenever you are ready, join me in the water with your chosen Pokemon." She then dives into the water, two Pokemon silhouettes joining her from hidden alcoves within the pool.

Daidouji walks past her opponent as she she cares little for what he has to say. She just glares as the gym leader takes her place. Daidouji ties up her skirt, and enters with her two pokemon.

After nearly another full week's worth of attempts, Daidouji finally gets a perfect storm of luck and circumstance that allows her to walk away with her Maelstrom Badge. Leader Aleisandra congratulates her as she hands it over along with the prize money and Daidouji's choice of Gym TM.
Daidouji earns 172 Poke XP, 2 Misc XP, 1 Badge Milestone, 3500 PYen, and her choice of either TM 13 (Ice Beam) or TM 55 (Scald).

Daidouji begrudgingly takes her badge. She had spent more than a week punching this woman in the face, and it never made her feel any better. She wasn't stronger than her body made her feel, and getting washed out of this gym multiple times reinforced that. She didn't even know what to be angry about anymore. Might as well keep moving until she knew what she wanted to do..

Daidouji didn't feel any rush to move on. Might as well see what was up north. She packs up, and heads towards the (in)famous Nugget Bridge.

The Nugget Bridge Challenge is something of a right of passage for aspiring trainers in Kanto. In the now-distant past, it was famously used as a recruitment device for Team Rocket (though only the guy at the far end was actually found to be part of said group). If a person manages to clear all five Nugget Trainers (as they are called by some), then a person at the end will give you a Nugget. Occasionally, this same person will also challenge you, though you receive the Nugget either way.
