"Yes, of course. All I would need is a sample of something - or someone - contaminated with GM energy..." Melissa is also staring at Noire, but at the mention of the Staryu she breaks off. "Oh, right. I'd nearly forgotten about those. Good, that spares me the work of reverse-engineering whatever medical procedure I came up with for you. I'm sure I can whip up something, although I can't predict the working range yet; some types of exotic radiation are much easier to detect than others."

Stella got her notebook and drew a quick sketch for Science Lady and Noire. A stick figure, labeled Noire, was on a small platform next to a fan and some squiggly lines called "Giga-scent". Underneath it was a barely concealed pit trap. See! They had a clever plan. Though... Stella scratched her head with the back of her pencil. She wasn't actually *sure* if Muks were susceptible to such trickery. Or if gigamax energy worked that way. Good thing she had an expert to consult!
Maybe just a scanner would be easier?

Well. They've looked at the computer so far. And while it had certainly said some interesting things, Stella knew for sure that hidden rooms were supposed to have hidden treasure! She turned on the lamp on her hard hat, even if not needed, and looked around. Boxes? Chests? Doors? Anything like that she could use her trusty pickaxe on?

There seem to be plenty of sealed supply boxes, and a few un-open doors around! Suppose those could be hacked open!
Melissa does also note herself she could in fact connect this to her new lab, and try and preserve all the remaining data, if she wanted.

Stella jumps skips and hops over to the nearest supply box and tries to pry the top off with her pickaxe. She knew that this thing would come in handy! ...Even if she had to try it on everything. But still!

A few minutes of struggling later... the box is open! The wall falls down with a satisfying *clank*. Inside, is what seems to be raw minerals and other strange slightly-edible bits. Melissa could probably take a guess that this was meant to be the raw 'food' for her alternate self's Muk project.

Stella cheers silently as the box is picked open. Then, it was time to survey the spoils! Hmm. Hmmm..? Was this supposed to be food? She picked up one of the rocks and carefully sniffed it then took a nibble. Cronch-cronch. Bleh. Dry. Hard-boiled. Needs more salt. She makes a sour face and discards the "food". Looking around, she tries to discern if the other boxes have similar markings or scents. If so, she'll try one of the doors instead!

Gwen needed to pay more attention because their resident tiny orange girl was putting things in her mouth. She would've swatted that out of her hands if she was close enough. "Stell, can you, like, not!? Lord only knows how old this crap is, so we don't need to be tasting it." She looked over the contents by leaning over to check. "Hmm...I don't know if only junk eating experiments eat this stuff...Perhaps we could use this as bait to lure....something out." Gwen backed away from it as it had quite the musty smell to it.

Stella quickly shuffles away the bite-marked rock into the pile. What? She hadn't done anything! Totally.

"Might make better bait than me, probably. I'm guessing Doc - or alt-Doc, or whatever - got most of the energy out of me, or else I'd be bigger. Or dead, one of the two." This is from looking at Stella's drawing before she wanders over and... picks up one of the rocks to examine herself, not that she knows much about rocks unless they're fossils of giant ancient Pokémon. "Is this coal or something? I thought Muks basically ate pollution. There's a reason I compared the big guy to Weezorah."
She pauses thoughtfully, then turns back to Melissa. "Hey, Doc. Flip you for who gets to catch GM when we find it? I mean you'd get to study it either way but seriously, Gwen's got a kaiju and I don't. You can't tell me that's fair."

The other boxes do seem similar, just other supplies and stuff. However, one of the doors is marked 'Decoding room' and another is marked 'Dangerous research'.
...Ok so if the giant muk wasn't dangerous, what the hell is in THAT room?

Stella turned her nose up at the foodstuff. Maybe that was why the GM had ran away? She wouldn't stay either if this was what was offered as a meal! ...Maybe Muk had different standards though. Nothing more edible in the other boxes though. That only left the doors! She pointed to the Decoding room figuring they might as well save the most exciting stuff for last.

"Flip? For my experiment?" Melissa huffs at Noire. "Look, once I've had a chance to reverse-engineer the process I can make you whatever giant Pokemon you want. I already offered that, if you'll recall, but nooooo, someone was too worried about 'side effects'." She actually makes air-quotes at this. "Well, this time it's a tested and proven process. Although having more than one proof of concept would be ide..."
There's a pause before Melissa abruptly swivels to Gwen. "Knightly! I need to study your Caterpie. It might be another naturally occurring example!"

Stella hacks her way into the decoding room! Inside is what looks like a 'lot' of paper printing out cordianates, Everything in here is automated, so it's hard to see why she would need to enter the room. But there is a lone computer, which looks like it's tracking something in deep space, but Stella isn't sure what!

Stella look around then points at the computer. "Look!" she cries out. Her pickaxe was capable, but she wouldn't be able to use it to get up into deep space to take a look herself. Unless..? No probably not. She started to sift through the papers, wondering if they made sense. She did know a thing or two about scribbles of course, but there were so many of them! Where they all just coordinates tracking that something in orbit?

Stella finds nothing relevant among the papers, and as she stares back at the screen, she feels her eyesight get fuzzy. Rubbing them does nothing to abate it. After a moment, she hears a voice. MAKE READY I AM COMING And then her vision blacks out for a moment, and then comes back, and the screen is now empty, save for a notification that the tracker has been shut down to conserve power.

Stella wobbles, blinks and gasps. She turns around and points urgently at the computer. It did something! You saw right? Right!? That's strange! And foreboding. And not what they were supposed to do!! The small orange haired girl gesticulates wildly.

"Shut down to conserve power," Melissa reads off the screen, having come to see what all Orange Girl's fuss (a whole word!) was about. "Not surprising, the whole lab is in lockdown mode. I don't see what's so interesting about that. Come on, let's go have a look at the Dangerous Research chamber. I brought a Geiger counter all this way and I want to get some use out of it."

Stella groans and rubs her eyes. Guess that was a "no". Then again, it wouldn't have been a proper ominous portent if it made sense. Or was obvious. She frowned and put a cleanse tag on the computer just in case. There! Something. She watches for a moment to see if some sort of ghost pokémon wants to shoot out from this malfunctioning machine as well?
But then she shoulders her pick and forms up by the Dangerous Research chamber door. Onwards then?

Noire actually stops to examine the computer, at least partly because she's figured out that if Stella actually uses words it's at least a little important. The problem is Noire... is not actually more knowledgeable about computers than a normal person, and also didn't catch what it was Stella saw. "Tracker... what was it tracking? Did you see, Stella?"
She taps a few keys... okay, she keysmashes a little bit and fiddles with the power button in the general hopes of getting the darn thing to boot back up. "I should start practicing with this Minun thing. Maybe I could generate enough power to run this and figure out what was up with it." Unless the computer starts showing something useful, though, she eventually shakes her head huffily and follows the others over to the door.
