Ruby's expression practically melts into one of pure "D'awwww" as she beholds the adorable little Dratini. "Why if you aren't just the cutest little thing." She says, her hair turning pink as she gushes.

Slowly, Ruby kneels down and holds out her hand low to the water in order to allow the Dratini to approach at its own pace. "It's alright, you're safe here." She says.

Dratini ever so slowly approaches. It stops just outside of Ruby's reach, looking at her. Like it's trying to decide if she's actually a nice human or just bait for mean humans.

Ruby does nothing but continue to smile at it and hold out her hand, understanding that such a shy Pokemon couldn't be rushed and she did not want to screw this up by scaring it.

Dratini just floats there for awhile, slowly circling Ruby. It continues to do this for over an hour.

Eh, it's not like Ruby was going anywhere. She could wait...but the Dratini seemed rather reluctant to come closer. Maybe it would help if she took some initiative. So she crept a bit closer, ever so slowly as to not spook it, no sudden movements. "Don't worry, I won't hurt you. In fact, if anything should try to harm you, I give you my word that I'll protect you." She says.

Dratini eyes Ruby warily as she cautiously approaches. The suspense is probably killing her at this point. It inches closer, which leads to Ruby inching closer, and the cycle repeats until Dratini is right up in her face. It boops her with its...snout? Yes. Snout.

It trills at you and twirls around. You get the sense that it had family out here, but it doesn't need to be looked after as much anymore, so they left. It's what you do.
