While Apex may not have been able to totally scrap the machine, he does his very best, tearing at wires and softer parts of the turret, causing it to spark and clearly become nonfunctional.
Meanwhile, the littlest Tauros kicks at the magnets, and causes the saucer, along with all the other afflictions it's been suffering, to slow down. That doesn't stop it from gliding after the group, though, before unleashing more searing light at Mica and the bull, before following it up with a barrage of magnetically-controlled spheres, knocking the Tauros down. There still appears to be some feedback in its systems, but it appears from the way the sparks die down to have fixed it.
Apex disables one Turret. Magnezone is Slowed. Larkspur takes 33 damage and 2 injuries from Mirror Shot. Mica takes 31 damage from Mirror Shot. Magnezone hurts itself in confusion. Larkspur takes 19 damage, an injury, and Faints from Magnet Bomb. Magnezone hurts itself in confusion. Magnezone is no longer Confused.
"We're going. We're making it to the end of this if I have to push you every step of the way!" Mica threw her arms around Donovan's midsection and pushed, kicking off of the wall for even more leverage. The crackle of the light between them and her destination was vibrant, but she gritted her teeth and pressed on. "I'll catch up, keep moving." Her body pressed firmly against him as she shoved him inexorably forward.
Mica is using a Push Maneuver to move Donovan her movement (7) plus an additional square as she can't follow (8 total).
As Mica and Donovan push through the blue crackling light, it feels like a tingle is running through their bodies, flowing from the metal protruding out of one wall into the metal protruding from the other. Thankfully, it doesn't hurt, at least, but it does cause a lot of juddering and numbness. Which isn't helped by the turret behind Mica turning towards her, and firing into her back.
Even through the tingling, and blue light, Mica does manage to see something, though, on the other side of the barrier. Down, near floor level, very discreet and set into the wall on the right, seems to be a little box with the Pokémon Center logo on it.
Having been shoved through the tingling barrier, and a little disoriented, Donovan manages to take stock of his surroundings. Namely, the three jets of fire (on the left, right, then left again) that seem to be firing in a pattern... but the timing between the bursts is very tight.
Thankfully, there doesn't seem to be anything beyond that but an empty corridor, ending in a door set into a solid wall. It doesn't seem like the Magnezone'd be able to easily target them through that.
Donovan barely registers Larkspur going down, and doesn't even have time to recall him before Mica begins to move him forward. He doesn't resist, knowing that she's stronger and faster than him, especially after she wrestled him to the ground.
Once they make it past the blinding barrier, Donovan nods to her words, running at his full speed up to the jets of flame before waiting and timing the gouts and finding the best way to make it through them. This is something he can help Mica with. He wouldn't just keep slowing her down..
Donovan sprints up to the jets of flame and takes a moment to look at them. There's a pattern there, and while he can't consciously pick it out, he thinks that he can probably, if he concentrates, he might be able to instinctually time a jump through while all three are off. Hopefully it works, because if not, that looks a lot more dangerous than the zapping barrier that Mica just pushed him through.
Though perhaps not quite as dangerous as the Magnezone that's still bringing up the rear, as it fires a bolt of electricity into Apex, before following it up with more orbs of light. The Vigoroth howls in defiance, but, battered as he is, slumps under the barrage.
The little points of light and heat danced along Mica's skin, arcing through her individual strands of hair as it lifted them free from her head in a cloud. This would be really neat if her muscles weren't having a spasm every few seconds. With Apex dropped by yet another salvo, she set her jaw grimly. This couldn't go on, she had to put a stop to it. Donovan was making progress, and that was good. "Alright Dusty, we're down to three Pokemon, I need you to come through for me." She released the ant lion directly in front of their pursuer. "Hit it with everything you've got!"

4d6+38 Ground Physical Damage. Magnezone is placed in a Vortex.
Dusty plants each foot heavily with an audible thud and stretches his enormous maw wide, blowing a massive volume of sand and grit at incredible speed over the machine Pokemon. Mica limps her way through the barrier to the Pokemon Center box on the wall.
After the battering its taken so far, the last attack from Trapinch is the tipping point. The Magnezone just can't take any more, and gently floats to the floor, eyes dimming.
Another stroke of good fortune for Mica is when the box on the wall contains three Paralyze Heals, marked with the Gym Logo on them. The turret isn't even shooting at her, instead focussing on Dusty... who seems to not be affected by the electric bolts at all.

Donovan could barely move, the jolting numbness causing his legs to almost give out, but he knew he had just a moment to get through. He closed his eyes and counted....on three he threw himself forward, almost tumbling to the ground but making it past the jets of flame. Now he just had to hope Mica could do the same.....
"Dusty keep following as you can, we'll have to come back for Apex!" Mica called, continuing to shake off the effects of the electrical field despite how much discomfort it caused. The turret was still sort of a threat, she took off towards the fire, lunging through with as much practiced deftness as she could muster.
Donovan barely manages to leap past, timing it right to give himself the most leeway. Mica isn't quite so fortunate with her timing, mostly due to the muscle problems, but is quick enough that she only gets singed by the last one... thankfully, at least, her clothes didn't catch on fire.
Ahead of them is a stretch of empty hallway, ended by a door set into solid wall. With the Magnezone gone, this doesn't seem quite so problematic, at least.

Donovan watched as Mica got licked by the flames and winced "Mica, are you alright?" He called out before taking a few steps forward, his limbs eventually giving in to the electricity pulsing through him. Falling to a knee he takes a deep breath and gets ready to continue on
"I'll... I'll be okay..." She panted, swatting at the singed and smoking fabric. "Dusty knocked that floaty thing out, but he got Apex... I've just got Morganite left. Let's go!" She gives her final Pokemon's ball a hard fling, sending it sailing down the open range to burst open a few meters from the door. "Treat it just like the last door, Morganite!"
(Mica stands up, Morganite uses Psybeam on the door.)

The door looks battered by Morganite's assault on it, but it seems that it will not go down quite as easily as the last one. Donovan does notice something as he gets closer, though, in one of the non-painful moments. Instead of a handle or a doorknob, this one seems to have some sort of a puzzle box or something where such an opening-device would normally be.

Donovan focuses on the lockbox as he continues to hobble forward, realizing that he could try and get the door open if he makes it there before Morganite blasts it open. His muscles scream as he pushes forward, but he can't stop yet.
Mica bolts passed Donovan, but does an awkward hopping gait partway through, as though something's disrupting her muscles. Mica got enough abuse in the temples, and she sort of hopes the gyms don't often do this. "Keep at it Morganite... we're almost there."

The door looks to be on it's last lack-of-legs right now, but it's still firmly holding on as a door. Mica, too, notices even amidst the barrage the puzzle-y box on the door. Granted, it could probably be ignored at the rate that the door's being damaged...
"Keep at it Morganite... Donovan's almost caught up... I know you can get through this." Mica called to her Pokemon, who unleashed another coruscating beam against the door. Should it finally give, Mica will move up to and open it/pass through on her initiative.

While the door isn't fully destroyed by the psychic blast, it does cause it to pop open slightly, with Mica able to finally wedge it awkwardly out of the frame. The pair can see, once it's open, that beyond the door is a stand with a big red button on it. And standing behind that, leaning against the wall, is the Gym Leader.
When Mica wrenches the door open, Donovan hobbles up past her, his legs still not wanting to work. It was amazing how she was able to keep moving this whole time, barely slowed down by the constant shocks when he could barely walk.
He meets her eyes as he moves past and smiles "We did it Mica. First try, thanks to you"

Hi there! I'm Seya, a 24 y.o. editor in Atlantic Canada. I enjoy writing, reading, webcomics, art, worldbuilding, and video games (I can talk for ages about SotC and Monster Hunter...). Although I'm relatively new to playing Pokémon Tabletop via forum, I've been putting together sites like this for a long time, and I'm really excited to work with you all to create an awesome environment for Pokémon roleplay. While my job here is primarily to keep the site running smoothly, I'm always happy to chat, offer advice, and deal with any problems you run across. Let me know if I can be of any help. Inbox is always open! Cheers! xx :)
Hello! I'm Sly, the East Coast mod representative! I'm a 22 year old tax accountant who is exactly as exciting as that sounds, I'm sure. PTU is my major hobby, I run several games (of which the Geode games are my pet project), and I read a disgusting amount of fanfiction. I've been a member of the community for about a year, consider myself more GM material than player material, and am dedicated to helping make your time here enjoyable! If there's ever anything you need, don't be afraid to send me an owl! (Or a PM, I guess, if that works better for you.)
Hey there! I’m DataNinja, the West Coast representative. I'm the most active Staff member on here, so if you need something, try giving me a poke first, and I'll see if I can help sort out your problem. Always happy to help!
(1 May 2015): "For our first pack, we’re focusing on utility character options. Hopefully, this will give you both interesting insights into our dev process as we make changes over time and another focused avenue to give us feedback on what you’d like to see out of PTU."
People are out there, yes, but if you're looking for a game, sorry to say that things seem to be winding down overall. There's basically been... 3 games in the last 2 years, none of which got off the ground.

It's very slow, yes. You'll probably finish working on your game before one pops up here, and if you create a recruitment for it you can expect to be swarmed with applicants.

New games seem to open up slowly here, but if new people are still welcome, I don't mind waiting around (or working on my own). It looks like there's some useful stuff to browse in the meantime.

Keep an eye on the recruitment area of this website. They're rare nowadays, but any new games that crop up will show up there. If it's a live game you want though, you're outta luck.
Dec 2, 2019 19:05:30 GMT
but how else do i find games then?

Sounds to me like they weren't a group you'd want to be part of anyway.

Basically, GMs post recruitments in the appropriate section, and then players apply to the open games. Unfortunately, there has been a rather... small amount of games posted lately, but there's one currently recruiting right now.
