It really doesn't take that long to reach Hawi after the city comes into view, not even being lunchtime yet. Well, city is much too grandiose a word for it. Even town is a little too much. It's really a village, seeming quiet and sleepy, full of small clustered homes. Further off in the distance, though, there's a sprawl of construction happening, with many obviously larger buildings in various stages of completion.
The Center is relatively easy to locate, being both a fair bit larger than most of the other structures in the area and with a bright red roof. Representative of the village itself, though, it's also a lot smaller than most Pokémon Centers that Mica and Donovan have been to.
It's still early enough that, if they wanted, they could probably see about challenging the Gym today, if the Leader's there. Or go off to the nearby Temple and get there before dark. Or even just take a day to relax and see what the place has to offer.
Donovan was still oddly quiet as they finished the journey into town. He hadn't returned to his old self quite yet, but if anything he was more agreeable than before, not really arguing anything and just going along with the ride. Though he still made meals and worked hard on training his pokemon, he spent more and more free time lost in thought. Maybe when they reached the town he would ask the lab about their research again, see if he could learn anything.
Once they reached the town he was a little....underwhelmed. It was a lot smaller than he had expected. He turned to Mica and raised an eyebrow "Do you want to go try the gym right away, or see what the town has to offer first? I'm fine either way"
"We've been staring at corn all day, I wanna do something! Let's go find the gym leader and get ourselves a badge!". Mica cheered. It was nice to be back in civilization again, if you could call this that. There was so much space and not a lot of people, and all the pokemon were hidden by the very tall plants, it was a struggle to even stay awake!
After their Pokémon are finished being healed, and the two get directions from the Attendant at the Center, Mica and Donovan head out for the Gym. Thankfully, it seems that the leader is currently in, at least to the Attendant's knowledge.
The part of town that they head towards seems to be in an awkward state of quiet. The construction has all finished, but no people or businesses have moved in yet to the completed two or three storey rows of buildings, so it's all a little eerie, like a ghost town almost. Except in broad daylight, so it takes a lot of the edge off. The gym is apparently the very large, blocky metal structure that's visible at the end of the street ahead, that just sort of exists.
Every once in a while, as they make their approach, there's the flit of Pokémon in the alleys and across the roofs around them, never really getting into plain view.
Mica isn't terribly familiar with Pokemon that roam the back alleys and streets, nor the construction going on here. When a building went up in Hirmilik it was kind of a big deal, she squinted off after the Pokemon even as they approached the gym proper, wondering what sort of things might live so close to people.
Donovan only catches fleeting glimpses of shapes, besides the odd bird flying above, but Mica sees a few felines staring out of the alleys before freezing and darting away as the trainers move up, as well as various small birds twittering around on roofs.
But one stands out to her amongst the others. There's a figure amongst the buildings, that looks to be... human, almost. She isn't quite sure, though, as it sticks to the shadows, not quite letting her get a good look. But it seems to keep following them as they head for the Gym, and she feels the figure's gaze.
"Keep looking at me.". Mica murmured quietly to Donovan. "There is something human-like watching us closely. It is trying not to be noticed, but I have seen it a few times now as we get nearer the gym. If we change course it might spook, so just be ready..."

"Are you sure? I've only seen a bird or two" Donovan says, walking along like there wasn't any danger at all. He thought about it for a moment. Being this close to a gym they wouldn't be in any danger right? Except when they reached the last one it was on fire....
"Maybe we should be even more careful. Last time we went to a gym it was on fire. I would rather not be" He stayed calm even as he says such a strange phrase before taking Micas hand and sort of skipping forward, turning back towards her with a smile "This way we can get there a bit faster while not looking like we're making a run for it"
Nothing jumps out at the two as they speed up towards the Gym... but as they almost reach the end of the buildings, and the Gym itself, there's a crash from one of the alleys, as well as briefly what sounds like it could be a voice, possibly human. The fact that it's skulking around in the alleys isn't a good sign, though. The Gym's not too far from here, though. It would be easy enough to just hurry for that instead of investigating.
It could be Axiom, she reasoned. It could also not be Axiom. Schrodinger's Axiom aside, Mica didn't want her nerves on edge going into a big gym battle! Those were important. More then that though, she didn't want Donovan to worry about the same. The girl went for the noise, releasing Dusty when she thought she was getting close.
As Mica went towards the noise she had pointed out, Donovan halts for a second, thinking of running off to the gym and getting help. No...He couldn't leave Mica again, not when he was so scared of something happening to her the entire time he went to get the farmer a few days ago.
Watching as she released Dusty, he hesitated over which Pokemon to release at his side before deciding he would make up his mind when it came to that. He was pretty quick at releasing them now after all.
The pair walk into the alley, smaller than a street yet surprisingly spacious. Though the shadows from the looming buildings don't help matters. Only a short ways in, they see a humanoid standing over what seems to be a large satchel with a large rip in it, with wires and various metal and electronic devices on the ground. It seems to have caught on a part of the wall by the looks of things.
The figure appears to be feminine, wearing a black bodysuit that really doesn't leave terribly much to the imagination. Atop her head is a full-face cloth mask, vaguely resembling a Pikachu, only... crudely made. The mouth and cheeks scrawl and a scribble, eyes the wrong sizes, ears all crooked... it's an imitation of a Mimikyu.
She turns towards the approaching duo and their Trapinch, the eyes of the mask staring blankly at them. "Figures," she spits out in a distinct - yet still clearly understandable - Vesperian accent. "Just my luck that someone's here, today of all days. I got careless. But if you don't want to get hurt, then I suggest you turn away now. And head back for the village proper."
Mimikyu..."You're one of those Anti League people then, those who think Vesperia would be better off on its own?" Donovan narrows his eyes. He should run to get the Leader. If Mica could distract this person for long enough...He looked over at Mica and hesitated. The last time he left her she almost got trampled by Tauros and he nearly broke his arm trying to save her.
He looked back over at the Mimikyu and debated charging her. No one expects it from him and if he caught her by surprise then maybe they could get her to the gym that way. But when he blinked he saw Axiom having her robotic bird crush the life out of that girl....Dream or not, he couldn't bring himself to move towards the foe in front of him.
He stood rooted in place, his mind torn between what he should do, and his body not responding to either Fight or Flight.
"...Dusty, get in close and use Arena Trap. Donovan, I need you to get that mask off. Whoever they are, whyever they're here, nobody skulks around like that if they have good intentions. She's some kind of bad guy, and I'm gonna make sure someone does something about it!" Mica proclaimed boldly, a sketchbook and pencils suddenly in hand and mouth. And other hand. And over her ears. So many pencils.
"Yes, yes I am," the figure says. "I am Polaris, the face of Vesperia. The true Vesperia, who fight for their ideals, not those that just capitulated to the League annexing us." She turns to Mica. "And I assure you, girl, that I have the best of intentions here. It's the only way that our message can get across in any way that the League will actually notice." Polaris chuckles. "But you both want to dance? Very well. It's been a while since I've had good partners. Do make this enjoyable." You can almost hear a grin in her voice, as she gets into a combat stance, her gloves almost seeming to form into claws. "Let's dance."
Before he knew it, the battle had begun in earnest. Throwing Roses Pokeball out near Dusty before assessing the foe and deciding the best way to go through with Mica's plan.
"Rose, when you can I need you to try and stop her from moving too much, I'll do my best to back you up" Once he calls out to the Budew, he reaches into his pocket and curls his fist around a bunch of spores. Until he could get close enough to take the mask, he would do his best to keep her from being able to move at all.
"The true face of Vesperia is a mask over the not true face of the true face of Vesperia?" Mica parsed in the way only Mica could. "That looks like it was badly drawn in crayon...? On hemp... or maybe that's jute?" At the offer to dance, Mica gives Polaris a quizzical look and makes her best attempt at dancing in place.
"It's a symbol, my dear girl," Polaris says, "We have become a foreigner in our own lands... but we will take that back. The day that this no longer has to be my face, I will rejoice." There's some chuckling as Mica begins to dance a little. "Ah, I like you. I didn't mean actual dancing. But that's cute. I'll try not to cause any permanent injuries. Especially not to that face." She blows a kiss towards Mica and Dusty - causing the little antlion to hesitate for a moment, because kisses is Mica's thing - before jumping towards Rose, whacking the little Budew.
When Polaris took to making kissy faces, Mica rushed up to cover Dusty's eyes, a heat rising in her cheeks. "Dusty's still j-just a baby, don't do that..." She felt all weird, she'd never had a girl flirt with her before. Hopefully Dusty's innocence was safe at least. That taken into account, she begins her initial sketches of Polaris.
(1 AP Spent for Natural Fighter, 1 AP Spent to Chronicle Aerial Ace.)
Dusty blinks up at Mica blearily after she moves her hands from his eyes, tilting that big head sideways. It was confused in it's own sort of way, but carried on as it always had. With lots, and lots of sand.
"Hey, the only one who can flirt with Mica is me!" Wait....thats not right...But Donovan had already called it out, no point but to roll with it "Rose, keep this creep from moving!"
The Budew shuffled forward and released a bouquet of yellow flowers that floated into the air before spreading around Polaris and exploding into tiny spores.
Confident that the spores would do their job, Donovan rushes forward and attempts to pull the mask from Polaris, throwing a knee towards her gut to catch her off guard in the process "Here, if you're so keen on making a move on my Mica, how about you show her your real face!" 'my Mica' what the hell was wrong with him....
Donovan is attempting to pull the mask off Polaris with a 10 on Combat for that

Hi there! I'm Seya, a 24 y.o. editor in Atlantic Canada. I enjoy writing, reading, webcomics, art, worldbuilding, and video games (I can talk for ages about SotC and Monster Hunter...). Although I'm relatively new to playing Pokémon Tabletop via forum, I've been putting together sites like this for a long time, and I'm really excited to work with you all to create an awesome environment for Pokémon roleplay. While my job here is primarily to keep the site running smoothly, I'm always happy to chat, offer advice, and deal with any problems you run across. Let me know if I can be of any help. Inbox is always open! Cheers! xx :)
Hello! I'm Sly, the East Coast mod representative! I'm a 22 year old tax accountant who is exactly as exciting as that sounds, I'm sure. PTU is my major hobby, I run several games (of which the Geode games are my pet project), and I read a disgusting amount of fanfiction. I've been a member of the community for about a year, consider myself more GM material than player material, and am dedicated to helping make your time here enjoyable! If there's ever anything you need, don't be afraid to send me an owl! (Or a PM, I guess, if that works better for you.)
Hey there! I’m DataNinja, the West Coast representative. I'm the most active Staff member on here, so if you need something, try giving me a poke first, and I'll see if I can help sort out your problem. Always happy to help!
(1 May 2015): "For our first pack, we’re focusing on utility character options. Hopefully, this will give you both interesting insights into our dev process as we make changes over time and another focused avenue to give us feedback on what you’d like to see out of PTU."
People are out there, yes, but if you're looking for a game, sorry to say that things seem to be winding down overall. There's basically been... 3 games in the last 2 years, none of which got off the ground.

It's very slow, yes. You'll probably finish working on your game before one pops up here, and if you create a recruitment for it you can expect to be swarmed with applicants.

New games seem to open up slowly here, but if new people are still welcome, I don't mind waiting around (or working on my own). It looks like there's some useful stuff to browse in the meantime.

Keep an eye on the recruitment area of this website. They're rare nowadays, but any new games that crop up will show up there. If it's a live game you want though, you're outta luck.

Sounds to me like they weren't a group you'd want to be part of anyway.

Basically, GMs post recruitments in the appropriate section, and then players apply to the open games. Unfortunately, there has been a rather... small amount of games posted lately, but there's one currently recruiting right now.
