Azazel wasn’t quite sure what tipping was and was happy to have the demonstration to reference. Apparently it had something to do with paying more than the price initially agreed upon, for . . . Well azazel had no idea. Candy? Probably candy. Well if it’s for candy, azazel was more than happy to assist. The boy acted in the same manner Bael demonstrated. He said the same thing as Bael, but a bit more stagnant in delivery.
”Here-you-are-good-sir.”
With that azazel handed over the pay, with a 400% tip. That’d probably be appropriate for the candy budget azazel assumed they had. As Bael called him over, azazel quickly skipped across the tavern, feeling significantly better now that he had a full stomach and time to process his new emotions. Also, benefit of running away without your retainers, no things to put in your room, so azazel was ready to head straight into shopping.
He still wasn’t sure s Bael character, but he seemed genuinely kind. Perhaps this was a spy hired by his parents in the situation that azazel was unsupervised? Potentially. If he was, Bael certainly wasn’t going to admit it. Well, this was his opportunity to check for himself
”Ready!”

Alexia continued after seeing that some where willing to listen, and even if others did not they might change their tune. "You see, I'm on a bit of a diplomatic mission. I need to get to a town named River's Maw and meet with their founder. Unfortunately to get there I need to pass through a cave system that lies west of here. I am not familiar with the land or layout of the caves and was hoping someone might be able to escort me. I also hear there are ruins in the cave, if we have time perhaps we could explore them, I've always been partial to older things." She gave a smile to Star, not familiar with flirting but not wanting to lose to the priestess from earlier. _iqhWhnl1-61-6 "Humph, the past won't show us the way forward, we need to go after the crests and finish the contest." Adel appeared from the doorway walking in, the Broksin prince still brandishing the blade on his back from earlier., If you spend all that time getting lost in caves I'll never get to beat you once and for all Alexia." Alexia sighed and grimaced, "We don't all need to prove something princling. Some of us have better things to do then parade around looking for minor victories." Adel flashed a glare before ignoring Alexia's comment and continuing, "If you really want to make a difference you should come with me to Broksin, I can get us to the capital quickly and have you meet our defender. Going on some fool's exploration and such wil only result in wasted time and efforts." Hellia was to busy with the slice of cake she had been offered, her eyes sparkled at the offering Berry held before her as she smiled over the fast talking young girl. "Awwww, you're so sweet." She smiled brightly towards her as she accepted, "And thoughtful too. Is everyone from your town as sweet as you?" Valerie, and Aurora sat in silence as the two continued, only Athur spokeup at any length. "Knowledge itself is useful, and true they may waste time but why only go fro that goal and miss the excitment along the way,. Or do you also have something to entice them?" Athur mused. Adel frowned, "Fine, I think it's a waste but there is a certain dungeon near the capital that we train the soldiers through that might be of some sport for anyone wishing to partake, you'll find some strong beasts there that might aid your own agendas later on." 1-6·1-6

Aluche scoots over to Hellia. "So...You're a knight, right? Does that mean you've been in a dungeon?" She whispers to the Exsci representative.

Berry heard the quest options from Alexia and Adel’s own offer to get people to tag along with him, but they were being pushed aside in comparison to the woman in front of her who not only responded to her, but –
That smile, it was slaying her. Berry was down, nothing left but a huge blushing smile and not even her pokemon’s quiet laughter was going to take her off her current high. “All of us from Vesti are some of the nicest around!” Because she was supposed to be promoting her village more and they really were the dearest people.
“…Such a gorgeous smile…….” Yep, Berry was thoroughly smitten. It was half of a miracle that she noticed Aluche after that. “Oh hey, aren’t you the one with Jioni? Well I mean not with with since he’s after Azazael I mean –“
And fortunately for Berry, Sunshine kindly raised her head up enough to muffle her mouth.
Berry trying her best!

Hellia turned to Aluche, frosting on her cheek as she swallowed a mouthful. "Well, I know that they sometimes contain really valuable treasure. most are heavily guarded though, I know in Excsi there is one underwater temple we know of guarded by a large Serpent-like Beast." With frosting still on her cheek Hellia turned back to Berry , "I'd really like to visit your village sometime if I could."

With a happy smirk across his face seeing that Azazel was rearing to go into town. "Alright, let's go kiddo" leading the young prince as he trails behind with his hands interlocking on the back of his head in the air. "Ok, let's see if I am correct the cartographer would be this way." "Also, is there anything you need Prince?" Even though he felt more comfortable with Azazel Bael still knew his place as a peasant to royalty. He felt as though since they were all chosen for the task at hand he must have held some importance and considered himself a little more equal than he may have thought before. As they walk past many other vendors pitching their wares Bael easily waves them off politely.
General Ed to locate Cartographer _EuxpJlB1-61-61-61-6
The crisp night air wafts into his nose as the houses and stores each illuminate the street as they walk by. What was going on in each of these people's lives? What were they going they going through? What did they desire? Who did they hope won? These thoughts fill Bael's mind as he thought of everyone else this contest effected. Bael often glances over at Azazel as his vision would bounce place to place. I wonder how often he sees his town and its citizens? How much of this is new to him?
Being in a new town and not having the proper time to have explored it earlier Bael loses track of the shop slightly..hoping he hasn't missed the window of the store being open. As they finally arrive at the cartographer's shop Bael opens the door allowing Azazel to step in first. The store is scattered with many rolled scrolls each within its own cubbie that scale the walls. A large glass table island sits in the middle of the store that houses many different scribe items within its cases. A chandelier hangs over the island that gives off a phosphorescent glow to the room. A small room in the back flickers with candlelight with a curtain half drawn. "Excuse me? Is the cartographer in? I require a map." Baelfire gently raises his voice hoping someone in the back would hear him.1-6·1-6·1-6·1-6

Sunshine eventually did let her talk again, probably because she was finding this hilarious and there were going to be words later but right now she was having the time of her life. Two actual conversations! “No, they’re perfect together! Imagine the good guy taming the bad boy….” It would be completely adorable to watch if this was their first meeting and oh wow she could get redder.
And Hellia turned back to her and her eyes zoned in onto her cheek. Could she? She’d never know until she tried!
“I- well I’d like that too. It’s a wonderful place.” She brought up two fingers, swiping off the frosting from her cheek and if her fingers happened to brush past her lips a bit too well that’s just the way it would be! Before her nerve went away, she licked the frosting right off her fingers, the sweetness extra satisfying.
“And I’d really like to get to know you better. I think you’re quite sweet too.”

Star smiled brightly, amused but thriving on Alexia's attempt at flirting. Albeit a little insulting, Saasita wasn't much of a charmer either and the fact she tried mattered a lot. Oh how she tried. Gently Star coaxed Alexia to sit with her and Jioni as the others began to wander off, ordering for the trio a meal but only after confirming Alexia was hungry. Before they ran off to do anything either-which-way Star would make sure they where fed. Teasingly she spoke, making sure she sat across from Alexia but close enough to reach out and touch her.
"They do say the best wines are matured to perfection my dear." She hummed playfully looking Alexia up and down before she sat back, a little more seriousness in her tone even though her gaze was fond and her smile was warm. "As for River's Maw, we know where it is and how to get through the caves. We've done so many times. The exploration is personally appealing but that will depend on Jioni, even if we don't go I'll give you directions and draw you a map though. That said..."
Star let out a light sigh, biting her lower lip considering how to phrase it. Finally she just spoke. "Please don't take this poorly, but there's not a single founder of River's Maw. Someone's mistaken, though they may mean the member of the city head's that owns the land. Or the member of the trio that handles diplomacy? It's not surprising, River's Maw is a fairly small town without much traffic outside of a few trade routes. If you explain your mission to me I can help guide you to who you need to talk to if not more, Jioni and I come from River's Maw."
Star lovingly stroked the leaves of her Petilil as she got comfortable to wait for her mood, absentmindedly stroking its head and giving it a bit of love while she talked and flirted with the dashing Knight across from her.

Hellia froze as Berry's fingers softly removed the cream, a slight sweetness touching her bottom lip before the trance like movement of the fingers found Berry's mouth. The rainbow knight could only show one true color now, red. Her body felt warm in the armor, starting from her cheeks and slowly steaming through the rest of her body. "Uhhhh ummmm...." she stuttered, more at the actions as blood filled her ears and the compliment was less then audible but still heard. A quick turn to grab her drink and a mighty chug to empty it caused a gasp from the knight as she had apparently been holding in a breath at the moment. Finally as she began to regain herself she flashed a sweet, albeit, tired smile towards Berry. "I'd like that."
Alexia sat with Star, she still felt awkward near the priestess especially as the entendre's continued to flow through the conversation like a Dragonair in a warm spring steam. "Thank you so much, and a map or any help would be lovely. As for my mission..." she paused looking back to make sure Adel was not near, "We would like to establish a trade route to River's Maw via Havvestim, but I would rather the Broksin do not learn of this. They have been trying ,and sadly succeeding, in a slow stranglehold of all goods coming and going from Valrus. At this point we do what we can but these siege tactics are harsh on the peoples morale."
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Roaul and Babs would soon detect the faint smell of smoke, like that of a brush-fire or a wood stove. Turning towards the source they would spot a slender flame haired girl wielding a torch and moving towards the pair. The movements were slow enough to show that no immediate danger was intended, however the slightly unnerving smile on the youths face that shown in the flicker flames did warrant concern. Stopping some feet away the girl curtsied still holding the flame. "Hello there, I don't think we have formally been introduced, my name is Ameli Rose, some people call me Ameli, some Rose, I prefer the moniker the King's men gave me. So if you would please call me Rose Red."
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
From the back shouts a voice, "In a moment, a moment, I'm just finishing up!" The sound of machinery whir as other sounds of movement mechanical abound. Moments later a rather stout elderly man walks out, his clothes grey and blackened with some from of oil or ink, "Now then, a map you say, a map of where exactly? Can't know where you're going if you don't know where you wanna go."

Star took a moment to consider Alexia's words, as she gave a little nod. Her fingers continued to trail though Kindnesses leaves as she seemed to consider her own words, scooting a bit closer to the table so she could speak a bit more softly without risking Alexia missing anything. She knew the state of Aurian and Broskin was not a pleasant one.
"River's Maw mainly specializes in healing herbs and grown crops, but they're fairly open to new traders and I doubt there will be any issue with setting up a new trade route. You'll need to speak with Sioda which I'm grateful for, this way there's no chance of favoritism. That said I'll give you a bit of information so hopefully it goes better for you..."
The teasing tone was obvious was she spoke quietly, a bit wistful for the small town even as she explained the situation. "River's Maw was founded about two decades ago, on land owned by the Luminous family. It was founded by Sioda Nafasi, Saasita Nafasi, and Star Luminous." Here her lips quirked more playfully, she knew Jioni had introduced himself as a Nafasi and her own name was known at this point. "Aurian is a very conservative country, River's Maw is a bit more... open and not under the direct control of the church though still loyal to the crown. The only nobles in the town are the Luminous family, of which the Nafasi's are considered an honorary part of. Saasita and Sioda would be the ones you'd talk to about such things as I'm happy to avoid such things, I prefer to focus on more spiritual matters and on keeping the citizens healthy and happy. The main reason the city worked out so well and with such a small noble population is the fact the Luminous family is a founding family of Aurian and so we were gifted a very large parcel of land long ago. As such the church nor the nobles have any say on what we do with our land, only the crown. And the royal family has no issues with us."
Star leaned back with a bit of a sigh after the long educational rambling, letting out a pleased look. "I say this so you know that while River's Maw follows all treaties and rules of Aurian, outside of Royal edicts it's only a single family you'll have to deal with. Not some event where you have to win over a dozen nobles often at odds with each other. And knowing your situation I truly hope your mission is successful." She considered the Knight before her, vaguely curious to see how she would respond. Honestly Star hoped the trade deal worked out, she didn't like to see anyone bullied. People or countries, and was eager to help. That said she wasn't that good of a merchant nor did she handle politics as well as Sioda, which is why Sioda handled that part of the town.

Where he would start? That was a good question. Raoul hummed a bit in thought. "Either I would travel further into Aurian through the plains and the cave to go to River's Maw in the west, or go into Broksin through the east, crossing the plains to get to Cinder's Plain." He remarked. "I'll see which one would be more urgent first, but-"
He was then interrupted by the smell of strong torch smoke... in a tavern lit by lanterns and candles. What? He turned around in confusion, eyebrow raising as he saw one of the other contestants approach them - a redhead with an unnerving smile on her face (and that was saying something considering that he visited Braxian courts before) and introduced herself as Rose Red.
Ah, the other Broksin contestant. What could this one want with the two of them?
"Very well. Greetings to you as well, Red Rose. I am Prince Raoul Dantes of House Finea and my companion here is one of the Harvvestim representative, Babs." He nodded over to her but didn't quite stand up and bow. "What brings you over to this tavern tonight?"
For some reason he doubted that she was here just to eat. No one smiled like that for the reason of food alone.

Hellia’s reaction wasn’t quite what Berry thought it would be, oh no, it was so much better! She couldn’t quite keep her giggles in check as Hellia went for the distraction of her drink, but she was still more than happy to sit next to the red knight. “Then we’re agreed.” She was sure that her smile was quite goofy looking but she was way too happy to care. “So, interested in taking a stroll through some ruins?” She asked shyly.

Jioni sat back with a knowing smirk, content to stay quiet for once and let Star do the talking. She'd seemed down the entire time they were gone, so it'd be good for her to have someone to spend her time with that made her happy. If only for a short while. He wasn't sure how good it would be for her to go back home, leaving a second time might make her even sadder. After a certain point, he did feel the need to interject.
"My other mother is technically correct. My mother was born to the Sithíche family of Aurian, but she doesn't really care about her nobility. Which is why she ran off with a knight from Valrus," Jioni said with a laugh.
Jioni stops, thinking for a moment.
"Actually, you may or may not have heard of my father. When he was part of your military he was known as The Wolf With Scales. With that being said, I know Father would be more than happy to help his birthplace. You'd have to speak to he and Mother yourself first, but I don't think the slow death of Valrus would sit well with him. Although, it would only make Broksin dislike us even more," another laugh from him as he paused.
"Regardless of anything, exploring ruins sounds pretty interesting. So since Aunt Star is up for it I'm definitely on board for being your guides to our home."

Babs listened raptly as Raoul listed his possible plans, doing her best to mentally catalog them so she had some idea of where to go. Not that she even really knew what an Aurian or Broksin was. Sounded like magic mumbo jumbo but she supposed they must be places around here. River's Maw sounded like a place where there would be a lot of deadly beasts, maybe deadly water beasts since it had a river in the name. Babs wondered if deadly water beasts would fit in a river? Bah, she'd see how the beasts fit when she got there. As she these thoughts were running through her head she caught a whiff of something. Smelled like some fool was burning something, maybe the chef had left someone's food on to cook for too long? She took in a long deep sniff to make sure that she was really smelling it. Yup, even Raoul was reacting now. When he turned so did Babs, she saw a young girl holding a damned torch coming toward them. Babs had a worried moment where she tried to think if she'd done something to warrant being burned. Nope, not that she could think of. She hadn't done much but sign up for the contest and come here recently. Her eye's flicked to Raoul. Maybe it was some sort of peasant revolt? She'd heard about them, that they usually had torches. From what she remembered they had more people usually. Babs listened quietly as the girl introduced herself. That look on her face, Babs decided she was up to something. Maybe the revolt was supposed to be secret? But then why bring the fool torch? Babs concluded that it must be one of those symbol thingamabobs, must be that a proper revolt couldn't happen without torches so you just had to make sure you had one and damn the consequences. At least Red Rose was a good solid name, simple too. Babs would keep an eye on her but for now, she seemed like an alright sort. Babs let Raoul talk before quickly putting forth her name.
"Names Babs." She looks at Raoul quickly before putting in a quick statement, pointing her thumb at him for emphasis. "What he said."

As azazel and Bael walked the grounds, the boy took a fair amount of time soaking in all the shops gently illuminating the night. Azazel rarely ever got to see a city like this at night. Sure, back home he’d spent time in the common areas escorted by his retainers, but only during the day. At night he’d either be locked up in the castle, or getting chased down by said retainers when he ran off in the forest to play. This was all definitely new to him. It was interesting how commoners liked to put a candle in almost any cheap object to try and make it prettier. He hadn’t to admit though, it was working. I mean, not enough to keep him from sneaking an active Pokémon lure into the back pocket of a passing gentleman, but still, beautiful.
When Bael asked if he needed anything, azazel responded ”Nah I’m fine. I’ve got everything a prince could ever need to survive on his own.” Which . . . May or may not be true. The prince wasn’t sure exactly what people usually needed to survive, so he took a good amount of small toys, chocolate and candies, and his favorite books about demonic entities destroying the planet and one about a fluffy mareep that learned how to make friends.
When they entered the shop, Azazel was impressed to see the large amount of rolled up maps in the store. When Bael asked for a map, the young prince was pretty confused, so he just grabbed the first rolled up one he could find and offered it to Bael. It was only when the old Mann come out that he realized that Bael would want a SPECIFIC map so . . . He awkwardly put it back . . . . Causing a number of rolls to tumble on top of him when he attempted to do. Azazel spent the rest of their time in the shop putting maps in their original place.

Standing in her place behind Aluche, Erinna was blushing just as red as the "rainbow" knight. The talk of one boy being after another would have been enough on its own, but then the Havvestim representative went and practically licked the Exsci knight! And then across the room, the high priestess was speaking suggestively to the woman that had been seeking help...It was all so improper! The princess would never do something like that! Erinna thought to herself. ...would she? Steam was practically billowing from her ears at the concept.
"Erinna..." Princess Aluche crooned in the priestess' mind. They sat next to each other on a park bench in Havelind, before the Aurian Falls. Erinna held the remnants of a crepe in her hands, dusted with powdered sugar and filled with rasberry preserves. "you must not be so messy," the princess continued. She leant in towards Erinna, close enough that the young priestess could smell the floral perfume she wore. One of her smooth, slender fingers reached out to wipe the sugar from the corner of Erinna's mouth...and the fantasy shattered, too much for the innocent dreamer. Erinna wasn't sure what she had missed in the princess' conversation, but she could barely hear over the sound of blood rushing through her ears anyway. She bit her lip, hard, attempting to regain her composure.

Aluche turns redder and redder as the conversation continues. "E-E-E-Excuse me for i-i-i-intruding! I-I-I'll take my leave nyow!" She stutters, bitting her tongue right at the end.

A slight chuckle slips from Bael's mouth as the scrolls fall, one bouncing off the top of Azazel's head surprising the young prince as he looks around as if someone had hit him. Bael turns back to the old man as he hunches over behind in front of the curtain as he wipes off some ink from his hand with an old work towel. "Ah, yes you have a point there sir. I have a simple map here but require a more detailed map of Broksin." Bael places his arm around the old man's back and turns him gently with him with their backs facing Azazel. Bael peers over his shoulder to see if Azazel notices but he appears to be busy cleaning up the maps as they continue to spill as he squats down with too many in his hands to retrieve another. In a hushed tone Bael motions with his hand forward flat insinuating he wants this kept quiet. "I am also in need of a map with any old markings. Caverns, shrines, ancient sites..you know something to do with the gods. Have anything like that?" Bael peeks back over his head to make sure Azazel didn't hear what he had said to the mapmaker.

Azazel thought he had heard something about a map, when suddenly another whole STUPID TRIBE OF MAPS CAME FUMBLING DOWN IN AN ATTACK FORMATION AZAZEL COULD ONLY DESCRIBE AS, “MAKE THE PRINCE LOOK LIKE A TOTAL TWATWAFFLE!!!.” Needless to say he didn’t succeed I never hearing baels plan, and returned to cleaning up his mess1-6·1-6
