Feeling Azazel ducking behind him Bael gently put his hand on the boy's to assure him that no harm would come to the boy. "Hey, he's not gonna do anything kiddo" Bael confirms to the slightly superstitious teen of the knights magics. "Hey, I'll be right back, ok?" Turning around on the bench he gets up and places a soft pat on Azazel's shoulders before walking towards the bar. Making his way to the bar he scopes out to see the innkeeper to purchase his room. Before adriving to the bar Bael waves down the man running the bar, "Hi, excuse me sir, you wouldn't happen to have a few rooms open would ya?" Flopping his hand over his shoulder he points at the table where he had come from with all those that followed him to the tavern. "How much would it be to pay for a few rooms for us? Lets say.." looking back counting as his eyes bounced person to person, "uhh..six?" Though he knows not much off money he knows that hospitality goes a long way. Each of their journey was about to be long and somewhat rivalrous and why not start off with a good foot in that way. "If you find out let me know I'll be over there. Just write the amount needed and I'll see what I can afford. Also may I order some stew from ya? Whatever, you recommend mate, thanks" he asks with a gingerly grin. He plops some coin on the table for his food and turns away. After being confirmed about his food placement he walks back down to sit with the others again.
He comes backs to quite a different air than he had left it. Gently floating down to his knee he taps Azazel on the shoulder "Hey kiddo, what's the matter? You alright?" After being caught up on what had transpired from Star he turned back to Azazel. "Hey kiddo, it's ok to feel raw or like you've let your walls down after apologizing. It can be difficult but it is definitely necessary. How about this, if you want you can crash in the room I rent tonight with me. I'll let you have the bed and I'll take the floor, that sound fun? After dinner I was thinking of going out to do some shopping alone but if you wanna tag along that would be fun, huh? What do ya say?" With his hands around the kids shoulders he softly pats the young prince as he tries to talk to him on his level and treat him as an equal he warmly opens his invitation to Azazel.
Hmm the kid must really be out of his element. He isn't really accustomed to a certain living style..I'd wager most of these people have a fancier life than I have..they seem like nice people though. A small smile streaks across Bael's face at Azazel confirming with him once again that everything will be fine.

At Star's speech, Erinna stopped in her tracks, unsure whether to serve the prince, or if that would be going against the orders of the high priestess. She just ended up standing there uselessly as the emotional scene played out, and at the end, Jioni hugged the prince! But I was going to get him on our side! she thought, exasperated. Why does that boy ruin everything? She slunk back to the table to stand behind Aluche's chair only realising then that she had been unable to pull it out for the princess because she had been unconscious...

God, you open yourself up ONE TIME and suddenly EVERYONES touching you! Azazels own MOTHER never even bothered to touch him more than a slap upside the skull when he was being especially cheeky. Now he had jioni AND Bael suddenly trying to comfort him from every angle and god it was overwhelming. Azazel took his knees to his chest, hid his face in them, and continued his minor sob speak.
”W-we can go shopping I guess, but I still want to eat if we can”

Intuition results Aluche/Errina You don't sense any maelific intentions from her but a sense of her wanting something.
(Present)
Oh..My...God... Aurora sat in a space between blush and faint as she watched all the commotion weave around her, she wondered what their regular meals were like this, probably not she hoped.
Valerie sat nearby as well, observing a map she had procured from a stall in town. She uttered small clicks with her tongue in cheek as she marked spots on the parchment she would love to investigate.
Athur sat quietly hoping his silence bought him invisibility. Though not being noticed was very new to him as he sipped his tea in the corner of the room and watched the groups antics.
Hellia was busy with her dinner, she hadn't eaten that day yet and was starving.
As the door swung open a glint of light refracted off of an armor plate. Alexia strode into view of the group as she looked their direction, a light crimson flashed when she spotted Star, however she was here for other matters and walked to the group. "Forgive me for interrupting your meal, but I was wondering if I could borrow some of you for a time, I require some assistance for a request."

"Yeah, sure kid. Come on lets go order you something" Bael leads the fluster and blushing prince to the bar to help show him how to order food properly at an establishment such as this. "We will eat then go shopping, ok?"
I wonder if he finds it ok with this much physical contact? He seems very reclusive from it. Perhaps I should draw back.

Hearing a knight's request, Jioni walks over to hear.
"Lady Alexia, my aunt and I would like to aid you if we'll have us."

Azazel audibly moaned at the arrival of the plot hook
”but FOOOOOOOOOOD”
To be fair, he hadn’t eaten much of anything since trapping his retainers and leaving braxius alone. He looked to Bael as the pair arrived at the bar, eyes begging for food

Star had just been ready to order for food before Alexia walked into the tavern, and she noted the light flush of her cheeks. Her smile got just a bit wider at the Dark Knight's approach to the group, but respected her no-nonsense approach to her task at hand. She quietly stood and looked up, up, and up at the knight before her with a sparkle in her eyes. She glanced at Jioni with a bit of a look before turning back to Alexis, inclining her head respectfully.
"Since Jioni is okay with it, I'll be happy to help you in anyway you need lady... Alexia yes?"
Star drew a Sigil from her pouch as she quietly intoned the name of the companion she would have accompany her. "Kindness." In a burst of light the small Petilil formed and Star scooped it up, turning to Alexis obviously ready to go. Fingers stroking the leaves of the small grass type as she waited for more input on what the dashing Knight needed of her.

The small red glint hit Bael in the eyes as he watched Azazel scanning the menu for what they had to offer. Seeing the prince grow eager to see what was happening back at the table he nodded, "Hey, if you want to go see what's goi' on then I won't stop ya but you seem quite hungry. I am sure if the knight needs you she will come fetch you." Bael worried about the boy's nourishment subtly implied he should stay to eat, but didn't want to tell the prince what to do.

The fun with the budding romance (or at least Berry was going to really hope that it went that way because it would be adorable) was all well and good but with the pair settling down, that left Berry to deal with her…lack of success at meeting her own goals so far. She hadn’t managed to talk to anyone properly yet! And Hellia completely ignored her!
Granted, Berry was reasonably sure that it was because the woman was starving, given how she was going at her food, but how did that…..
Berry hopped to her feet and hustled over to a waitress, where a hushed conversation later, and she returned carrying a slice of yellow cake, glistening with a shell of hardened honey. A convenient breeze (Berry loved her magic so much at times) made sure that the scent of the honey cake blew right over to the rainbow knight, Berry wielding the cake like the lever to actually manage to talk to the woman.
“Hi there! Umm, you looked pretty – I mean pretty hungry notthatyouaren’tprettyhereIgotyouacake!”
Said offering was thrust out, now a shield from potential embarrassment.

A hint of wry bemusement twinkled in his eyes as he moved over to shake Auther's hand firmly. "It's a good change for once. The shadows of the archives are still home, but this isn't so bad." Kind of like that sun bathing activity that he'd heard some of the other nobles talk about in the times he'd accompanied his brother to the courts of other lands. At the comment about the prince, he glanced over to where the loudest ruckus was... and saw that the prince was having a tantrum and putting himself into his own closet. His lips twitched up for a brief moment at the sight before looking back over to the older woman and ignoring it. "A good turn deserves another. That includes common decency." He remarked with a shrug. He then continued to listen intently, not showing any of his thoughts upon hearing that this all was an attempt to prove herself. Not only to her son, but possibly to her young self and all the other naysayers she might've had in the past. A good cause to be sure, but for the throne that would govern all eight kingdoms...? He didn't quite get the time to answer back why exactly he had deigned to join in this in the first place as she immediately segued after all of those probably mildly offensive guesses as to what nobility did. He supposed he couldn't fault the smallfolk for possibly thinking that either - he didn't know what Harvvestim royalty even did most of the time beyond generalities. He wasn't there nearly as often as he was in Valrus or Braxius, which wasn't saying much on its own as it was. At the question and the offer of her hand he finally stood up from his seat and then shook her hand firmly with an acknowledging nod. His hand was surprisingly calloused and strong for a royal, especially from one of the less military-inclined kingdoms. "That's definitely a story there. If only more folks can be as motivated, hm? As for introductions... a pleasure to meet you, Babs. I am Prince Raoul Dantes of House Finea. If you don't mind, we can continue this talk within a tavern? Night is coming soon, and I'm sure we'd all like to eat dinner after all of this. We can speak more there if you wish."If she agreed, then he would leave with her to the tavern where he and his household guard were currently stationed. If not, he would walk off alone. Either way, as they did, he covertly moved over an area where a particular wrapped bundle was left and an ethereal, smoky-looking hand quickly and sneakily swiped it and hid it in one of his coat pockets as his cloak moved over the area. --- Once they had gone to the tavern, Raoul excused himself for a bit after finding a table to go to the outhouse. During the walk, one of his spectral hands had been busy unwrapping the object, and by the time he had excused himself it had been unwrapped enough to be able to pull out after he had finished using said outhouse and cleaned his hands. A sheathed sword, it turned out, and when he pulled the sword even he stilled when he saw its pink crystal blade and the unmistakable hum of magic at his fingertips. My my... so careless of the princess to leave this behind. The implications were staggering as he put together the pieces to paint the most curious sort of picture. A more complete, rather messed-up picture of Aurian than he previously believed. He stared at the blade long and hard, wondering what this meant as a whole before resheating it and wrapping it back the way it had been before putting it back in his cloak. He went back inside and then sat back down, thoughts a whirl but looking neutral. He would have to make another visit tonight, it seemed. If he were alone he would simply think in silence, but if Babs had gone with him he would ask something. "Before we had gone here, you had asked about my motivations, yes?"Vazad

Babs shook his hand warmly, making a mental note of the callouses. At least this noble did some sort of work, even if it was only practicing with the sword or somesuch. It showed a level of dedication that she wouldn’t have guessed nobles would have. Thinking on it, she hadn’t really been to the capitol much. Almost all of her information on nobles was second hand, or more likely twentieth hand. She’d mostly imagined nobles sitting around talking to other nobles, eating fancy foods and throwing parties. Except when there had been a war on, then they mostly rounded up the local boys and marched them off to kill each other. Shaking her head she tried to dispel the haze of negativity that had settled on her from that train of thought. This one seemed polite enough in his own way, maybe there were more like him. Plus this whole Champion business had rather neatly stopped the whole war business, not a one of her sons or grandsons had gotten themselves killed in someone else's fight. At least not one they didn’t have a choice in joining. Well, Bryce was an accident. Everyone agreed afterward. He’d always been a bit of a slow child and he’d just been in the wrong place at the wrong time. No, times had improved a bit thanks to this whole malarky.
Babs had distracted herself so it took her a short while to register his introduction. A Prince was it? Wow, that was what? Like one or two knife’s from a King? Must be a third or fourth son to be allowed all the way out here without a platoon of guards. That actually impressed her more than anything. (Despite the fact that the other prince was most likely in the same situation his current attitude had totally blinded her of the comparison.) He must be able to hold his own then. Raoul eh? It was a good stout name. She immediately forgot the surname, she really didn’t feel it was all that important. When he asked about getting a bite to eat she thought about it for a moment, her pocket money was a bit thin at the moment but she thought it would be a bit rude to say so. Looking up she saw that it was indeed getting dark quickly, the day had just flown by.
“Sounds good to me. Lead the way as you like.”
As they walked she saw him seemingly stagger at one point but that was the only time he seemed to lose his footing at all, must have been a loose rock or something. Raoul unerringly led her to a tavern, inside she noticed a lot of people in armor who seemed to know him. Well, there went that opinion. It didn’t really bother Babs much at all, she just felt a like that specific opinion might be a bit vindicated by this. As soon as they sat down Raoul took off for the privy, which was a bit odd but nothing that really worried her. Better out than in. She twiddled her thumbs for a while until her finally made his way back. After sitting down he asked Babs a question.
“Ah, yeah. I did indeed. Let me hear it then if you’re willing.”

Raoul settled down a bit more into the wooden seat and let his ears get used to the chatter around them to let it fade into the background as much as he was able to. He used that time to let him figure out what the best reply was to this sort of thing, before he figured that the truth in doses was the best way to go about this. "To learn about the other kingdoms with mine own eyes and see for myself the state of each one, so that in turn I can try to figure out how to solve the problems of each while moving on forward as a whole." Raoul admitted. "I'd wanted to do something more than serve mine own kingdom for a long time, and I have a little more freedom to do it than the heirs apparent of my country, so this was the perfect avenue to finally begin."He leaned back into his chair before he continued. "The view from the courts and from the castles could only tell me so much -if it told me anything at all, you've probably experienced how pompous some of my rank get- and mine own country is... not very indicative of the state of the others given its harsh and relatively isolationalist nature out of necessity, but being able to travel and interact with people of all stripes and all places would get me a step closer to my goals."And then there were the... disturbing undercurrents of news and movements that have finally forced his hand and that of his parents' into finally letting him do something proactive for once instead of staying on the sidelines and chronicling as wont his blood were to do in times past. "If I could become stronger and learn about myself along the way - well that's just a bonus, isn't it? This... contest isn't just about victory, after all." He added, his eyes thoughtful. "Just the trip up here and being allowed to observe on my own for this festival has already yielded interesting results so far."Like actual proof of that Aurian rebellion and damning evidence as to the leader's identity. All in a day's work - more than he expected or even hoped. Vazad

Babs sat and listened to Raoul patiently, gently waving her foot as it dangled in mid air while taking small puffs on her pipe. She nodded at his first point, she hadn't really gotten out of Havvestim herself. Or out of Farns much really if she thought of it, clients mostly came to her. It had been a busy lifetime, but she supposed this was the perfect excuse to do so. It might also be doubly important for someone royal to know what they were talking about when they dealt with other royals from different kingdoms. The wanting to do more was interesting though, back in the day she would have guessed that he was enlisting but she wasn't sure what he meant now. When he mentioned how pompous his ilk got she thought for a moment. She guessed she really hadn't, nobles didn't make the trip to Farns much if ever. It was mostly the taxmen. She hated taxmen with a burning passion but they were a fact of life, like arthritis and jumped up sons. If she thought about it consorting with them didn't out and out make someone a bad person, it just tarnished the soul a bit. Most of what she knew about the nobility was from rumors that had been old when her parents were young. Oft spoken adages talking about them like they thought they were gods. She really didn't KNOW if any of that was true. So far the two members of royal families she had seen, and known about, were pretty mixed. She hoped that she would be pleasantly surprised in that regard.
She listened on as Raoul began to talk about his country. To be honest she didn't even know the names of most of the countries let alone where they were and what families ruled them. She did her best to look attentive and pay attention though, he'd done the same for her and deserved that much. She liked the bit about becoming stronger and learning about himself. That was very deep, sounded like a kingly thing to say. She smiled encouragingly at that. After he was done she sat back a bit. Solving problems eh? Not a bad choice at all. She half wondered how he'd feel about people's problems once he met them in person after days of slogging through the muck but she decided to give him the benefit of the doubt. No reason to try and poke holes in his optimism. Although looking at him she wasn't sure if that expression screamed optimism.
"Well it's good that you're finding things to do that might do some good for people. Where were you planning on trying first?"
She waited with baited breath, hoping to catch the name of a place that might be worth heading to. To be honest she had mostly gotten here through garbled directions, she hadn't even bothered to grab a map. Not that Babs could have read one if she had one.

After a brief and extremely awkward exchange when azazel stumbled through ordering food for the first time, he finally succeeded in asking for a meal. It was draining, and weird, and in fact, did NOT require an interpretive dance as he previously anticipated. Exhausted, the boys head dropped hard on the bar counter. He turned his head slightly to look at Bael.
”I ordered the food. Now what?”

"Now we wait for your food" Bael informs the young prince as a bowl of hot, steaming stew accompanied by a loaf of bread on a platter is brought and laid in front of Bael. Bael nods with a wink to the innkeep with an unspoken thank you. He begins eating his stew spoonful by spoonful. He peeks out the side of his eyes to see the prince watching intently as he ate. "Do you want to try some?" Bael offers his spoon to Azazel as the boy contemplates to take the spoon and sample the food Bael has ordered.

Normal people would have found it beneath them to be fed like this, but Azazel had made his retainers do this so many times that it was normal for him. Azazel leaned in to eat up the spoonful, savoring the taste.
"It's saltier than I'm used to, and has more meat that I don't normally eat, but it's good I guess."
Azazel's food arrived soon after. A collection of sweet breads, fruits, and chocolates. He wasted no time digging in. In between bites, Azazel turned to ask bael some questions.
"Why are you helping me? I get that Joni's whole thing is weaponizing affection, but I don't get why you're being so nice."

Puzzled by Azazel's question he rattles around in his mind for the answer. Why am I helping this kid? Does he remind me of him? No, it's not that. What can it be? He rests his chin on his closed fist as the looks upon Azazel waiting for an answer. His finger strokes his chin behind his fist. "Well, honestly, I am not sure. Maybe just cause I have a soft spot for kids. Maybe I find you funny. Maybe I find you quite similar to me. I can not help you if you wish?" Bael responds with a sarcastic end. Bael thinks back to when he was younger and would often pull pranks on his best friend at home. Man she hated him at times. Maybe that's why he helped the kid. "Welp, looks like we've finished our meals. Thanks the innkeep, pay him and don't forget to tip" Bael explains as he reaches into his coin purse pulls out a small handful of silver and gold pieces, counts them then places them on the counter sliding them to the inn keep. "Here you are good sir. This should cover our meal, as well as our room." He nods with a grin at the inn keep as he gets up from his stool, throwing his bag over his back. The inn keep slides Bael a key to his room and directs him to which room it will be. "Come on now, let's go before the shops have all closed. Here, go put your thing in the room if you'd like before we head into town." Pointing to the exit Bael beckons the young prince to gather his things so they may head out. Bael walks just out the door and holds himself against the wall waiting for Azazel to come.
