Alex - Solo RP & Special Missions

‘’Oh, I wonder if this is another younger Branch Leader like Sage.’ Alex thought entering the Branch. He held Miry’s ball and cautiously approached the woman saying, “Umm, hello. Might you be the Branch Leader by chance? My name is Alex, I am a Grass Branch member but I have a question for you Water specialists. I’m trying to figure out what this Pokémon is.”

Alex simply let out a small “Ugh” before he sat up. He took off his shirt and wrang it out while saying “I’m fine. Really. It’s not the first time, and it won’t be the last. I actually have a friend that does it a lot.” As Alex reaches for Squirt’s ball, he noticed that there was on missing. It was Miry’s ball. Once again, during the blast, he lost grip on the ball and it rolled against a nearby table. Miry popped out and slimed her way over to him. Miry crawled on his lap while he was sitting and looked at him questioningly. One might think it was cute except for the goofy smile on it’s face and the slime rolling from what Alex thought was it’s nose, right into his lap. Alex sighed as he wipes the slime away from his pants and puts Miry on the floor. He then gently pats the Goomy on the top of the head. As he pulls his now slimed hand back, he wipes it on his soaked pants, and then extends the hand to the woman. “I’m the one that’s sorry. I should have announced myself sooner. Again, I’m Alex. I am looking for someone that can help me with this little goo ball here. I don’t know what it is and neither does the Tome.”

Alex was really confused now. The Tome said Water type. Alex pulls out the tome again and flips to Goomy’s page to see if it updated. “Here’s the entry. It originally said that she was a Water type and that she may know Water Gun. I have a Wingull here that knows Water Gun. I was going to work on some accuracy training with her and all she could do was let out some Bubbles. In fact, that’s the only thing she did during my matches this morning. That’s why I came to ask for advise. Is there a way we can draw out her other abilities? I don’t wanna just shout at her to do something she cannot do.” Alex said scratching his head. He looked down to Miry and, in comical fashion, Miry looked up at him with a slight tilt of her head adorably, and promptly sneezed. Slime went everywhere. All over the floor, all over Alex’s still drying pants, and all over the girl’s legs. Alex couldn’t help but laugh. He gained his composure back and said, “I am so sorry. I shouldn’t laugh, but it’s just so disgustingly cute. Miry has been nothing but entertainment since she’s joined the team. I don’t have the heart to keep her locked away. It’s the main reason I want to get to know her better. Can you help me figure her out a little bit?”

Depressed now, Alex just shrugs and says, “Well darn. You were my best lead. Not sure who else to try since you guys are the water experts. Thanks for trying though. Someone is bound to be able to help with these. Just not sure who to try next.” Alex then turns to the girl and says, “I didn’t get your name? Are you the Water Branch Leader here? I’m fairly new to the guild and still getting to know everyone.”

Alex grinned and said, “Well Callidora, it was certainly an experience meeting you. I’m still amazed at the abilities of people in general in the Guild. I have no idea where that water came from, but having that much power at your command, either from a hidden little creature, or as the unofficial official leader of Water Branch, you’ve shown me that this place helps out the little new guys like me become something more. I hope that one day, my little Wingull can have a strength like that. I’ll have to drop by from time to time and check in with you. It’d be nice to get some pointers also. I did promise my friends that we would meet up and head back to the swamp tonight. I don’t want to be late. Thanks for at least looking over Miry for me.” Alex went over to get Miry’s ball. He looked at her, and again, she looked up at him with that adorable goofy face turned just slightly sideways. Alex figured he was already a mess and she might enjoy being out anyways. He picked her up and put her on his shoulder. Alex turned back to Callidora before leaving and added, “Oh by the way, since we’re already heading to the swamp, does your branch need anything done there? We came across this little spot of fresh water that some Poliwags lives in. One of my teammates befriended one to come with us. It was just odd that in the middle of a swampy area like that, we’d find fresh water. If you’d like samples, I can grab some while we’re there. Kind of a thank you for taking the time.”

Alex stopped to think and nodded. He said, "You are absolutely right. I didn't think about that. Now I'm glad that we didn't stop to drink it. Thanks again Callidora. If I find out what this little gal is, I'll drop by to let you know. Maybe it will learn a few more water moves you can give me pointers on. Take it easy!" Alex waved and headed out of Water Branch.

Alex walked past a window to get an idea of the time. It looked to be almost lunch. The others should be getting back soon from their morning routines. He figured he may have just enough time to check in back at Dark Branch and see if he could catch D'Mara in her office today. As he started to walk, he froze for a second. 'It may just be a repeat of yesterday though. That spooky girl could be there again. Better steel myself for a sudden surprise' he thought. He looked at Miry on his shoulder and said, "If that goofy girl scares us, slime her! She deserves it." Miry just looked at him with a puzzled face and gave him that same goofy smile. Alex just laughed and continued to Dark Branch.

Alex reads and re-reads the flyer spelling out the mission on his way out of the guild building. ‘Regular runaway. Likes fish. Often spotted near the fish vendor in Saffron Square. How am I going to catch this thing in the middle of the square?’ He thinks to himself while making his way towards the square. Alex takes off Squirt’s ball as well as Stout’s ball and starts to idly twist them in his hand while thinking more. ‘Can’t really use these two as they are too tough. Won’t get much of a reward if I bring the thing back unconscious. Ceo is way to strong and might squish it. Probably a good thing I least Mauve back at the guild because the odor may make it run away. Just leaves me with three. Allure can confuse it and trap it, but what good does that do me? Miry would just slime the thing. That leaves me with you...’ Alex pauses and looks towards his newest addition. He had no idea what it was capable of or how it would even respond, but he hoped that the new Slowpoke would be of some use. The Slowpoke just meandered behind him taking in the sights of the town, oblivious of anything happening. He seemed bewildered by the trees and the grass. All the hustle and bustle around him was far from intriguing. The Slowpoke had a quirky, distant look in his eyes. Alex chuckled to himself and said,  “I think I’ll call you...hrmm. I haven’t the slightest idea what to name you. You’re not like the others. They have all had names that just came to them naturally. You, just seemed bewildered at everything.” Alex snaps. “Wilder. I’ll call you Wilder. That goofy look at everything like it’s the first time seeing things. I think it’s a good fit.” The Slowpoke, Wilder, finally looks up to Alex’s hand, seeming to just recognize the snap he had made moments before let’s out a long “Pooooooooooke” in response. Alex shakes his head, grins, and keeps going to the square. 

Alex is taken back by the sheer amount of different vendors and people in the square. He wasn’t quite ready for all of this when he imagined the scene. Being from a smaller village, he expected just a few vendors and maybe a handful of people. ‘This is going to make things tough. That Meowth could be anywhere.’ He thought while surveying the square. Alex figured he better take his time and scout out any possible giddy holes that the little cat could sneak in from.

Alex takes some time to scan through each of the Pokémon he can see with his time. He had an idea of what a Meowth looked like, but had never seen one before. He just wanted to be sure that he wasn’t missing his prey. Not seeing it offhand, Alex called out Squirt. He looked to the bird and asked, “Okay buddy, you like fish too. Where would you steal a fish from?” Squirt looked around the square for a minute before finally finding the good stuff. He stretched out his wing in the direction of the fish monger stand. Alex nodded and began to walk over to the stand.
