Adventure Thread - Group B

Rei raises an eyebrow.

”Every type? Even ghost? From what my mother told me, they were only proven to exist recently.”

Rei’s face turns back into a smile.

”I heard you say ‘Riding’ flying types, and now I need to know if you have one and can I go for a ride?”

Reis gastly floats to the same eye level and makes a taunting face to the bird.

”Sol, be nice.”

Rei looks back to Brooke.

”So he’s not fit ‘yet’ is what I’m hearing. Shame, a brisk ride with you would have been fun right now.”

Well it’s not that much fun if I’m alone on it, silly.

Rei opts to keep that thought to herself.

”Well I’m sure you and he can reach some sort of contention when he evolves, although I now want to get a rattata solely to see it ride your Sharp. If he doesn’t try and eat it, of course. But anyway, let’s keep moving.”

”I mean that makes more sense that there isn’t. Just that you said every type.”

Sol floats happily around Rei’s head after the bird was chastised.

”But yes he is one. My one and only Pokémon. He’s a bit of a handful, even when being so frail...”

She playfully runs her hand through some of the ghostly gasses.

Rei and Sol look at each other with a knowing look for a moment.

"More pokemon won't ever replace Sol. It's a long story, but he saved my life when I was young."

She shakes off her thoughts.

"Anyway..."

"Evening, miss Genevieve," Brooke says, leaning into the office. "Got someone here looking to join the Guild, is now a good time?"

Genevieve looks up from her paperwork, clearly happy for the distraction. "Ah, welcome! Yes, I can help you get signed up to join the Guild." She produces the sign-up/membership form and offers it to Rei. "Just fill this out for me, please, and you're set to go. Have you given any thought to which Branch of the Guild you'd like to join?"

Genevieve happily gives Rei a quick primer on each of the branches and their leaders.

Flying - Generally focused on caring for the Guild's messenger and riding Pokemon. Amanda, leader of the Branch, is very professional, but not necessarily very personable.
Normal - A catch-all branch that has no real specialty, but welcomes all. (You're talking to this person!)
Fire - A very intense and combat-focused Branch. Ashandra is considered overbearing by some, but she generally means well.
Grass - Our resident botanists. Sage is perhaps the greatest mind in the region when it comes to botany and Grass-Type Pokemon.
Water - At once a laid back and highly competitive Branch, depending on who happens to be 'in charge' at any given time. Naida, the official leader, is quite intense, and has a rivalry with Ashandra. Her daughter, Callidora, is a spirited girl who just wants people to have fun with Water Pokemon.
Poison/Bug - Genevieve does not know a lot about the Poison or Bug branches. She rarely has an opportunity to interact with them. While the two are officially separate branches, people freely travel between the two. Nalkeya and Aubrianna, the Branch Leaders of Poison and Bug respectively, are... odd... but genuinely well-meaning people. Just... don't let them get you involved in their prank wars.
Fighting - Fighting Branch is pretty much what it says on the sign: a branch dedicated to Fighting Type Pokemon and learning martial arts. Their leader, Ming-Na, is a bit of a recluse and rarely involved in the day-to-day activities of the Branch. She usually has her 'Instructors' (the officer rank in Fighting Branch) run things for her. Genevieve is not sure what she does all day.
Ground/Rock - Genevieve knows next to nothing about these two. You'd be better off seeking information on them directly.
Dark - This is probably the only Branch in the Guild that has almost exclusively female members. Like Water (under Naida) and Fire, they tend to be quite competitive. However, unlike the other two, their competitions are kept "in-house" as it were. Lady D'Mara is credited with the discovery of the Dark Type, and also serves as Queen Amelia's left-hand (enforcer). On a personal note, Genevieve is wary of D'Mara. Something about that woman just rubs her the wrong way.
Steel - The most militaristic of the Branches, run by Knight-Commander Sorra Shields, of the famed Knights of Kanto. She claims to be here to 'keep an eye on' Lady D'Mara, thus why her Steel Branch is set up right down the hall from Dark Branch.

”Hmmmmm...”

Rei makes an over the top thinking face. Her two new acquaintances were in branches she didn’t have much to do with sadly. As much as spending time with either lady seemed fun, she didn’t seem to fit the branch styles. Also she gets the distinct feeling that hitting on Leanne was inviting wrath from somewhere...

As for the other branches, grass seemed like it could fit, or poison. They fit her and Sols fighting styles of manipulation. But then she heard ‘prank war’ and got tunnel vision very fast. She’d make a great prank soldier. She finishes the paperwork and looks up.

”Well thank you Genevieve. The run down helped. I think I’ll be checking out poison first! That sounds like my kinda fun.”

She looks to her and the two ladies she rode in with.

”Anyone know the way?”
